Went on a Monday afternoon to get some work done in a different type setting from home. It's a small place with a few bar height chairs at a bar by the window, a few regular chairs and booth seating by the wall and a separate room (but open) with a bar height table and chairs. I sat on the booth side by the wall and was not near an outlet. It was quite chilly even though it wasn't sweltering outside, so I'm glad I brought a jean jacket. Music was playing but it wasn't too loud. Stayed for a couple of hours. There was plenty of foot traffic but not enough to be disruptive. There was one restroom, which was clean. The baristas were pleasant as they helped other customers. I was going to order seltzer water, but they had it on tap (along with plain water) so it was free. I also ordered an iced tea to support the establishment. It was refreshing and I didn't even add anything to make it sweet. I would return here to work if I needed to, especially because I like the area (even though parking is mostly paid street spots), but plan on continuing my quest for the perfect coffee shop/remote work vibe. read more

Super cute coffee shop but WOW does it get busy here! They do themed drinks for cherry blossom season which certainly contributes to how busy it was, but the drink quality and food is genuinely quite good. The line went out the door and it took a while to find a free table. Service is very friendly despite how busy they were. It took a long time to get our drinks and food (at least 10+ minutes) but that came at no surprise: we were there during rush hour right as the Cherry Blossom 5K ended with a bunch of hungry runners arriving at the same time, us included. The Strawberries & Cream Matcha Latte was a popular pick. I enjoyed mine but it didn't stand out too much from other strawberry matcha lattes I've had in my life. My friend ordered the Earl Grey Matcha Latte and topped it with lavender foam and this was definitely the way to go. Also tried the sundried tomato and feta sandwich which was a perfect light snack. Fabulous coffee! Stopped in for a quick vanilla iced coffee. The coffee is delicious, super smooth, I loved it. They sell coffee beans and latte jugs which I may need to pick up next time I'm around. They have tons of seating and people were working and chatting amongst all of the beautiful plants. I got their oatmilk coldbrew on tap which was great! They have tons of coffee options so there will definitely be something for everyone. Their pastries were a bit limited so we skipped out on those. The coffees were a bit on the more pricey side but I feel like that's common with the fancy on tap stuff. Bathroom was very clean which is also a huge plus. Without any doubt this place serves my favorite seasonal drink of the entire DMV area! Every spring you will see me crawling to get one of their cherry blossom inspired creations (+ the mural and their pink petals decor omg they have me in a chokehold!!!) it's really quite when they don't have their usual morning and lunch rush. Recently I had their Cherry Blossom Hot latte, which is one of the seasonal specials. It's the sweetest of them all (because of the cherry blossom syrup and the condensed milk). It's best hot, although it's prettier cold hahaha. The coffee with the milk swap (almond) ended up being $8 tipped! Might be an insane price, although it's almost about the same I would spend for regular almond milk latte at Starbucks, and it quite doesn't taste as good. This latte is my silly treat of the month. The people next to me ordered the flight, which they kindly let me take some photos of it! I asked them which was their favorite, turned out to be the matcha one! Really cool coffee shop and eclectic vibe! Stopped by here as a first timer today and must say I was impressed. The pour-over I chose was outstanding, full-bodied, full of flavor and the customer service was great. I throughly enjoyed my pour-over and also had a Cookie Butter Latte and something called a Morning Glory Muffin during my visit. I fell in love with both the drink and muffin. OMG, it was so good....It needs to be renamed to the "Hallelujah" Muffin folks. Just try one....warmed....& thank me later! Choir voices were singing in my ears with eat bite. lol The vibe of this coffee is very eclectic, with unique seating and workspaces. The is even a mini office station and meeting space/room equipped with a printer and office supplies to assist you while taking in a bit of telework....while enjoying your coffee. Well, I'll put it this way. The perfect place to keep your productivity high. It appeared that the printer and office supplies were available for your use.....but don't quote me by it....nor the posted-note I used while there. lol. The place is completely wired and offers free WiFi connectivity as well. I will say...a couple of the outlets in the shop was broken or not working, but this is not a deterrent. Just make sure you have a back charger or something if you are stay long or need extra juice. In all, a great coffee shop and really cool atmosphere. From the great coffee products, unique work spaces, relaxing environment, on-point music flow and snacks.....this place gets two Big-Thumbs Up from me! I mean who knew!? This was such a good find for us while in town for the weekend. We went here two mornings in a row! Their breakfast burritos were delicious and a perfect breakfast. Their coffee was great and the staff was super friendly. The girl who rang us up the first day was really helpful with us figuring out their menu. I stopped by Commonwealth Joe and treated myself to their coffee flight and yes, it was absolutely worth it. I tried the Coconut S'mores Latte, Salted Lavender White Mocha, and Piña Colada Cold Foam. All three were delicious, but the Piña Colada Cold Foam didn't really hit flavor-wise like I expected, it was subtle. That said, the coffee itself was strong, smooth and flavorful across the board, which I loved. It gave me the perfect boost while I got a little work done. I currently have the opportunity to work remote twice a week, and I am on the hunt to find the best places to work from in the Arlington and Alexandria area! Today I took a capital bike share ride to Commonwealth Joe and it was an absolute delight! I am giving it five stars because the customer service, coffee, and overall atmosphere of Commonwealth. Joe were amazing. Upon ordering my (first) drink, the barista was very excited and seemingly just as interested in my first experience as I was when deciding what to order, they helped me describe the drinks that I was indecisive on and per my flavor profile helped me pick the blueberry honey Matcha ice latte! It was the perfect pick as it was very light and refreshing! They had cherry blossom decorations, all throughout the coffee shop while still keeping to their own unique industrial vibe, which I really appreciated in terms of working out of the coffee shop. They had bar window seating with ample outlets, which is a big kudos to them in my eyes while also having multiple tables both in and outdoors for catching up with friends or grabbing a quick bite with coworkers. I will give it a eight out of 10 on my own personal scale in terms of work ability as it was a bit noisy due to the high volume of traffic, so if you have a lot of meetings through out the day this may not be the place for you, but if not then I highly recommend!I will also say the high volume of traffic is a great sign of how fantastic their coffee and pastries are. Overall, I had a great experience and productive workday at Commonwealth Joe and look forward to returning soon as they had a lot of advertisement for summer starting soon with new seasonal drinks! Joe's is currently around construction so it is definitely difficult to get too unless you are local and walking. I did it twice this month and i am not a fan. The baristas are so sweet, cashiers? The sizes they offer for how expensive their drinks are is stupid ridiculous. Like I paid almost $11 with milk alternative not including tip for a large that was like 20 oz? Smores latte? Taste nothing like a smores, cute, and the edible campfire leaf was adorable, but 2/10...this very last time i got the coconut nitro cold brew...coconut? Where? I tasted none. 1/10. This is a nice coffee shop located in walking distance to many hotels in the Crystal City area. The inside layout is well set up for people who want to work remotely or meet with friends. The outside seating is well situated to get the sun but also have shade from the hot sun. I ordered a rose latte and it was delicious. However, I wasn't feeling quite keen on service. There was no clear sign on what type of flavors were available for the latte and when I asked staff, I didn't get a full clear response and they expressed in hesitation not to share the full list of latte flavors. I think customer communication can be improved where the interactions can be slowed down and be more personable instead of rushing to get the next order, especially if it is hard to hear someone. read more

Love this place! The pastries and food offerings are standard but the drinks really make it unique and seasonal. The decor and elevated ceilings really make it feel large, especially compared to the array of coffee shops that are crammed. It's in a great location at the corner of a major city block. I would give it 5 stars just for service. I got one of their specials, the slightly sweet oat milk latte. It was delicious! However it was served without ice which I wasn't expecting. I would have loved for it to be iced. Because we were hungry and in a hurry, we got two of their breakfast sandwiches from the cold case which they heated for us.
