One of my new fave coffee spots to get a drink and to get my beans. I love the feel of the place as well. Spacious to work or drink with a couple of friends. Service has always been very friendly and accomodating! I highly recommend coming to this spot!

WHY DIDN'T I COME HERE SOONER?! I just found my go-to favorite coffee shop in the area. The coffee is of superior quality and the interior is modern yet sophisticated and comforting. Great place to meet friends, study, go on a date, or even go solo and enjoy a drink with lovely Brazilian influenced snacks. The staff was kind and the service was quick for a Sunday morning. I tried their seasonal Rose Cardy (cardamom) latte which is right up my alley and flavor palette- it was amazing and again, the best latte I've had in the old town area (and I've tried many cafes here). Out of curiosity, I tried their light savory snack, pão de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread). It was light and chewy due to the tapioca flour and a nice savory item to accompany my sweet drink. I love everything about this place- the drinks, service, vibe, and more. I WILL be a regular here. Can't wait to come back!

Stopped here for breakfast while attending a convention in the area - such good vibes. Modern interior with colorful art to balance the dark woods and cement, simple layout, and super helpful and patient staff. Coffee and food as AMAZING. Best gingerbread latte of my life - no joke. Didn't taste cloying or overdone - perfect balance of flavor to the creaminess of the latte. The lavender honey latte was also no slouch, and paired very well with the lavender honey toast - neither of them fought for dominance. Absolutely recommend, and I can't wait to get into the bag of beans we got! Cant say I recommend driving in Alexandrea though. Drivers in the area are mean and don't pay attention to their own stop signs - drive safe!

Great coffee shop in Old Town, Alexandria. Close enough to King St that you can use the Metro, walk or take the free trolley. I had a cappuccino, it was perfectly done and the right balance of coffee and milk. I noticed some baked goods, but I didn't have any. Clean, friendly staff and a good number of tables, excellent to set up your computer or meet friends for a good cup of coffee. The space is next to a co-working space with a couple of phone booths, but only for their members.

This is a coffee person's coffee shop. The vibe is good, the tables are comfortable and there are enough of them. There are also 'phone' booths' for people to go into a room with others to have privacy to work or whatever. The pastries looked pretty good, though I didn't have any; people enjoying them seemed happy. There is a great eclectic clientele here, fewer families than at the well known coffee shop on Mt Vernon. On a Sat morning there were a fair number of people with laptops and looking like they were working. But you come here for the coffee. They make it any way you want. Hypergoat roasts their own and they buy some uniquely interesting beans that you won't find in other places. I enjoyed a cappuccino and then had a pour over recommended by the person at the next table. I don't know its name, but it tasted a lot like tea. It was different and I really appreciated the chance to try something very new. I highly recommend this shop if you are serious about your coffee. Or, if you appreciate a well made cup brewed by people who know coffee.

Stopped by here to try their coffee. based on a facebook recommendation. The atmosphere is like a shared workspace type of setup, where people come with their laptops and do their work. They even have private phonebooth sections for members for privacy. As far as the coffee is concerned, they definitely did not disappoint - this has to be the smoothest coffee i've ever tasted in quite a while. They didn't have any sugar-free syrup options for lattes, so I just got a regular one with oat milk. Highly recommend!

Was super excited to come try this spot out but was disappointed by the vibes. Everyone who was working acted mad & while our latte art was beautiful, neither of our coffees was very hot. The flavor of the coffee was delightful though. (Also a random thought outside the coffee review- but there are so few goats that the branding of this place is very misleading for people who seek out funky places. It's just like 5 mini stuffed goats and nothing else. This is just a very modern little coffee spot with beige decor so don't get your goats hopes up!)

Hypergoat has a trendy vibe. You can find some knowledgeable baristas and decent coffee. This place can become very crowded and people with laptops can take the tables quickly. Staff are pleasant and attentive. I ordered a flat white and most important you can get it in ceramic. It was full body.

Flat white, cinnamon roll, and a little brazilian milk sweet (Brigadeiro?).

Really nice coffee shop, but does have somewhat limited seating. Service has been friendly, and relatively efficient given the pride they take in making quality beverages. Great daily selection of pour over coffee varieties, and the hoji chai tea is delicious with or without milk. Baked good selection isn't massive, but there are probably a half-dozen or so options, plus the menu items like avo toast.

My friends and I were in Old Town this past Thursday afternoon and wanted to grab coffee from Hypergoat before they closed at 2 (!!). Fortunately, we were able to spend an hour at the cafe and enjoy the modern, warehouse-style interior with some plants hanging off the ceiling and plenty of natural lighting. Because of the nice interior, I bumped the review to a 4/5. The four of us each got different drinks and we only thought the iced americano was decent. The cortado I got had a stronger milk flavor than the espresso, which didn't have much noteworthy tasting notes to offer. The iced mocha tasted more like diluted chocolate milk. The shakerato had a strange sweet aftertaste that we didn't quite enjoy. Overall, the drinks we tried averaged out to a 3/5. Maybe the pour overs are the way to go for coffee at Hypergoat. They also have a variety of coffee beans that they roast in-house for sale. I'm open to give the coffee another shot if I'm in the area.

I'm all for trying new spots and this is definitely a place I'll return to. It's literally in the cut so it may be easy to miss so think hidden neighborhood gem . The service was great . I love when baristas have a great sense of customer service . Friendly informative all of the things . My coffee was made perfectly my goodness. I explained how I liked my coffee and honestly he couldn't have done a better job and satisfying my taste buds !

Honestly, I wanted to check out Hypergoat, because of their name - also, when you walk in, you're able to enjoy the small goat plushes as part of their decor, which are super adorable! Our first visit here was pretty good, as our drink orders were made well, and the pastry items that we received seemed to have been warmed properly and was tasty. Our next visit was super disappointing, as our drinks didn't taste the same, so you could tell there was a consistency issue. The pao de queijos, which had a nice chew and had a slight crisp, tasted gummy and cold. The almond croissant that we received was cold and wasn't even warmed up correctly; it also tasted dried out and kind of stale. The place itself is cute and cozy with limited seating; not sure if you could stay here to do work, because, you know, to be courteous of other patrons that may stop by, but it is located adjacent to a work space that you could join! Staff are pretty friendly and kind; I'm hoping it was just an off day, maybe? +cute goat plushes +friendly service +limited seating +limited street parking in the area

Stopped by Hypergoat Coffee Roasters the other day, and it's definitely a decent spot if you're looking for good coffee and a unique place to hang out. I came to get some work done, and really enjoyed the space. The ambiance is a great mix of modern and rustic--think warm wood tones with a cool skylight above the phone booth areas! I grabbed a peppermint mocha latte with oatmilk; it was slightly sweet, but not overpowering. Prices are pretty reasonable, especially for the quality. The staff was super friendly, which always makes the experience better. One of the unique things about this place is that it's also a co-working space. Half of it is open to the café crowd on Saturdays, but otherwise, you need a membership to get in. If you're local and need a regular workspace with great coffee, it might be worth checking out. Overall, Hypergoat is a great little gem near Old Town Alexandria!

Unfortunately, whoever the individual was on shift today was just a total piss poor person - she seemed to have an issue with our party, as she automatically assumed we just came there to 'squat' without ordering anything (if you have been to this place before, there isn't much seating and this isn't where you'd want to sit for a bit anyway); when I called her out and stated that I already knew our party's orders, she backtracked. She then continued to make a snide comment on the number of drinks we were ordering - what's with the passive aggressiveness? I didn't know that there was some rule that each person was required to order something. Like, are you okay? I just had a bad feeling about all of this, and we should have just walked out instead of giving our money to support this business - to add to it all, the coffees that we did receive (latte with soy milk, and the mocha) were just poorly made and not strong at all; they were both watered down and bitter at the same time... come on! UGH, the regret, but it was a choice. Shame on you, Via Volcán! You might want to heavily reconsider who you employ and train them better - this individual is really hurting your business! The line went out the door and it took a while to find a free table. Service is very friendly despite how busy they were. It took a long time to get our drinks and food (at least 10+ minutes) but that came at no surprise: we were there during rush hour right as the Cherry Blossom 5K ended with a bunch of hungry runners arriving at the same time, us included. The Strawberries & Cream Matcha Latte was a popular pick. I enjoyed mine but it didn't stand out too much from other strawberry matcha lattes I've had in my life. My friend ordered the Earl Grey Matcha Latte and topped it with lavender foam and this was definitely the way to go. Also tried the sundried tomato and feta sandwich which was a perfect light snack. The hash brown and egg burrito was also delicious but really dense.
