Cute, quaint spot. The customer service was great. What we initially came in to try wasn't available but I was not disappointed with my visit. The food was absolutely delicious. My sister who dislikes ham thoroughly enjoyed her quiche Lorraine. I enjoyed the croque madame. I do wish the side salads had dressing. The caramel macchiatos were some of the best coffee I've had in a long time. The crepe was perfect balance of tart and sweet.

I love coming here to work or just enjoy a yummy lunch. Their menu is pretty big & I have never ordered anything I didn't like. The coffee is good and strong, their crepes & pastries are really good-- they keep me coming back! The service can be hit or miss & the overall vibe of the cafe is typically pretty quiet. They have plenty of seating & free wifi!

First, the map is deceiving, this is a long walk from the metro station but well worth the hike. (There are buses that one can hop on all up and down King Street for free, that I later found out after I got here). This place is on a side street. It is a little dark in the place but it's got cozy lighting like an old speakeasy soft glow style. (Which may be more difficult for me if I was with another person because of lip reading, but because it was just me that day it was fine). There are tables and bar counters to eat at. The person working the counter was very helpful and I asked for suggestions of snack. I had a cold brew and a blueberry multigrain muffin. It was solid and hit the spot! Definitely wish the coffee came in a larger size. Would come back here for a meal when I have more time.

Walking into Cafe Du Soleil felt like stepping into a little pocket of warmth and charm. The staff greeted us with genuine smiles, making us feel right at home. Their service was attentive yet relaxed--exactly what you want in a café where you can linger and enjoy the moment. The ambiance was just as inviting, with rustic wooden tables, soft lighting, and the perfect level of background chatter. It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in with a good book or share a meal with someone special. Now, let's talk about the food--because wow. I ordered the Florentine Quiche, and let's just say there's no picture of my dish because I devoured it before I even thought about taking one! The crust was flaky perfection, and the filling was a rich, creamy blend of eggs, spinach, and cheese that melted in my mouth. Paired with a beautifully spiced Chai Latte, it was the kind of meal that just made my whole morning better. My partner went for the Chicken Sandwich and gave it two thumbs up. The chicken was tender and flavorful, but the real star was the remoulade sauce--a tangy, creamy delight that brought everything together. All in all, Cafe Du Soleil is a gem. Great food, warm service, and a cozy atmosphere--what more could you ask for? I'll definitely be back (and maybe this time, I'll snap a photo before inhaling my food... maybe).

Unassuming french cafe tucked away in a small building off of Old Town Alexandria. The space is pretty neat/stylish, and really makes you feel as if you are at a small cafe in France, though it is a little darker than I would prefer Pretty comprehensive menu of drinks, hot food, & pastries. I came here for breakfast with my GF and we each got vanilla lattes, I got a crepe, she got a coffee cake pastry, and we split a BEC. Everything was delicious Counter service, and all of our food and drinks were prepared extremely quickly

If you want a real crepe from a French chef, this is the place to go. They have sweet, savory, and different salads and breakfast foods if you don't fancy crepes. The service was great. You order at the cashier and then the servers bring the food to your table. I definitely recommend a plain iced latte. It was delicious. They also offer wine to take home and I will definitely do that next time.

My family and I went here twice on our trip to DC. On the first day, we each got Iced Matchas with lavender. They tasted really good! We also ordered 2 nutella crepes but the crepe tasted eggy. My grandma ordered a vegetable crepe since she's a muslim vegetarian. Unfortunately she found a piece of meat in her crepe! She had already ate half of it so who knows if there was more. We came back the next day to have the tasty matchas again. But they looked and tasted different than when we had them yesterday. It was pretty much just milk with a hint of matcha. Both times the service was pretty fast. The people were nice and gave us a refund after the first incident. It's also cute inside. Unfortunately I will not be returning.

This place was fantastic! The coffee was great and not overly sweetened, french toast was AMAZING, breakfast bagel also AMAZING, and the breakfast potatoes were buttery, savory goodness! Highly recommend checking out this little gem if you're in Old Town.

This is the perfect place for a causal coffee meet up. Their chai lattes are really good and they were pretty fast during a Saturday morning rush.

A delicious breakfast and coffee spot in the heart of Old Town! Though a little pricey, their crepes, quiche, cappuccinos, and amazing service will make your visit well worth it. I've never felt like more of a "city girl" than sipping a hot Americano from a REAL mug in the window of old town, before getting it to-go along with the best smelling breakfast and heading down those historic cobble stone streets. This is the new go to spot for me and mine!

Charming, classic little cafe south of King in Old Town Alexandria. Very French-forward style and delicious food offerings. Croque-Madame was perfectly delicious. Sip on a tasty latte or mocha. They also have decadent crepes, stuffed with various delights! Counter service was friendly and welcoming.

I really enjoyed this place! The ambiance is so calming and inviting. There are plenty of tables to space out and have either a quiet reading moment or meal alone or sit and gab with your friends. My table ordered scrambled eggs with toast and turkey sausage and a smoked salmon crepe. Everything was warm and yummy. The meals weren't groundbreaking but they were tasty and enjoyable enough to come back! They have a smoothie and coffee menu and the baked goods were yummy and served warmed. Overall, a nice spot!

The food was great. The service was fast, I love that you can order first and then seat yourself. I ordered a savory crepe, but the quiche was to die for! Overall, it was a little pricy for the portions but everything was fast and very fresh. Found this spot because it catered to all my friends cravings while on vacation!

Capo Italian Deli - Old Town Alexandria…read more I reviewed our new Old Town neighbor - Capo Italian Deli - early in 2026. Time for an update. The deli is outstanding. Taking up a tiny footprint on the N. Washington Avenue thoroughfare, a few seconds from King Street, the deli delivers both hot and cold deli entrees, soft drinks, and salads. There's maybe half a dozen tables inside and a couple of tables outside, but from what I have seen thus far, most of the trade is with carry-out service, drawing from the excellent reputation Capo brought with it as it arrived in Old Town (the restaurant has siblings in Shaw NW, and Western Market in the District, Tyson's Corner in Vienna, VA, Annapolis and Potomac, MD). Fresh Philly rolls for those seeking a traditional hero sandwich, with go-to seasonings and all of the essential protein groups. My favorite is a large half roast beef half turkey with lettuce, tomato, and mayo (I skip the Italian dressing, which is part of the default, and I skip the cheese). I can and have made this $18 sandwich last three meals (so I ask them to cut the sandwich into three pieces), and the ingredients stay fresh for the next 24 hours. The last time I did this the sandwich fed me from 4:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., as I served as an election officer at one of Alexandria's polling places. Neat, trim, and completely satisfying. Just a point of concern: given its location, the opportunity to double-park while picking up an order seems to be just too tempting. This location, however, cannot over the long term sustain double-parkers. The deli is about 100 feet from the intersection of King Street and N. Washington Street. There is a dedicated lane for cars seeking to park adjacent to the deli. And then there are two northbound lanes on N. Washington Street. That's it - just two lanes serving one of the busiest intersections in Old Town. If a delivery-service car pulls up alongside one of the parked cars, all hell will break loose by drivers who suddenly find a delivery vehicle double-parking in front of Capo, leaving but one northbound lane open for however long it takes for the delivery agent to gather the order and beat it out of there. This happens with remarkable frequency, starting at about 11 a.m. and running throughout the day. That's not going to make good neighbors of Capo's nearby shops. Alexandria Parking has its work cut out for it, but here the rule prohibiting double-parking has to be enforced - it's both a safety issue and an issue of common courtesy. Doesn't matter if you think you'll just be in and out of the deli in seconds. We know it doesn't work that way, not always, and here - not even often. More often than not the double-parker will be creating a traffic hazard just by parking alongside a parked car in front of the deli. Please, don't do this.

This review is based solely on the customer service I received over the phone…read more I had placed a $62 order through DoorDash and chose Capo even though there are plenty of other deli spots nearby, because they normally make really good sandwiches. Unfortunately, the customer service this time was extremely disappointing. I called with a simple question about the bread since I have braces and needed something soft. The person who answered the phone was rude and dismissive, acting as if my call was an inconvenience. When I asked which bread was the softest, he cut me off to say they were "super busy" and could only change the bread on one sandwich, not both. I asked again for clarification, and he continued sounding irritated and uninterested in helping. He repeated that they had a line of people and needed to know which one sandwich I wanted to change. For the amount I paid, the lack of basic courtesy and willingness to answer a straightforward question was unacceptable. This will be my last time ordering from Capo in Alexandria, VA.

Great little sandwich shop!…read more It's very popular at noontime. I took a break from my 4 hour long painting class upstairs in the Torpedo Factory to snag a bite. My timing was good, because I arrived right before a work group of maybe 10 people or so came into place their orders. In addition to a substantive sandwich menu, which includes both hot and cold sandwiches, there's plenty of beverage (including wine) and snack selections. Wearing an oil paint-smudged apron (FYI: the reality is that you're still going to get paint on your clothes even wearing an apron), I aptly ordered the Torpedo Artist. The Torpedo Artist is a hot Panini-like sandwich. You can select your type of meat, cheese and toppings. By default it includes lettuce, sweet peppers and deli oil. My sandwich was well-crafted with plenty of turkey and Swiss cheese. However, I didn't especially like this sandwich. I wish I had asked them to hold the deli oil because it was overly pungent with oregano. All I could taste in my sandwich was oregano. But older and wiser now, I know in the future that if I have them hold the deli oil, I'll end up with a great and tasty sandwich.

A fantastic sandwich location. I love a good sandwich!…read more I was able to place an order for pick up just before I got on the train to head back. Brilliant! I will definitely for this again on my next trip. I ordered a BLT on multigrain, and a PBJ w/honey drizzle on sourdough. The PBJ is off the kids menu. I'll ask for extra peanut butter and jelly so it's to my liking. I couldn't tell if there was honey on it, it could have been. The BLT was fantastic. I loved that it was not oiled high with all the ingredients. A simple sandwich. It fit the bill and didn't over fill me. A true classic. The multi grain bread was the best! I need to find out where that is from. It was that good. I hope I'm able to try the tuna fish and the egg salad sandwiches sometime they look delish! The staff were quiet, but got the job done. There is a small bar like area to eat in, and outdoor tables in a covered area to enjoy your sandwich.

However, the young male staff is rather rude and indifferent. First, off there is a Wi-Fi available "Caphe Guest" (see photo). I asked one staffer what the password was, because Caphe is in one of those sections of Old Town where wireless access, like Verizon, is notoriously poor. The guy gave me some garbled answer and walked away. Alrighty, so I asked another staffer and he said he didn't know what the password was and walked away. That leads up to my order of chicken pho. I asked for no cilantro and that same waiter repeated my request for no cilantro. But when the pho was brought to my table, the green in the pho looked suspiciously like cilantro. I asked the waiter about it. He looked at the pho and said it was not cilantro. I took a sip and quickly determined there was cilantro in the pho. When I tried to get my server's attention, as he was standing in back of the counter, he saw me and haughtily turned away. So, I took the pho up to counter and asked that my order be remade. To Caphe's credit, Caphe did correctly remake my order.. But the pho broth was brown and had an odd canned flavor. It just wasn't very good.
