This place is so cozy especially on a rainy day! Soft relaxing music played while we were inside the whole time. We were in the area after eloping over the weekend and decided to stop by for a coffee. One of the standout things I noticed is the menu has a lot of healthier options which I appreciate, and organic additions, like maca powder, collagen, etc. There's also giant protein cookies and I was in particular intrigued by the pancake latte. Trying to find Cherry On the Top, the coffee shop next door, I walked into The Greenery Coffee. After chatting with their staff member, I felt bad and ordered their pumpkin flaxseed muffin, an item true to their health food roots. It wasn't warm, but it was dense and tasty. I'd go back for it! This was a random discovery for me while I was in Old town for an appointment. This is a very cute coffee shop that focuses on natural ingredients in their products. There is limited parking on the street so you may have to circle a few times. The employee who helped me was very friendly and explained the menu options. I had the pancake latte which was delicious and not overly sweet. I would def try some other options on another day that I am in the area! read more

Super cute local coffee shop in Old Town Alexandria! Decided to stop by and grab a matcha and ended up with the Greener Tea, a slice of lemon chia bread, and some cool stickers! The service was quick and friendly. Pricing was on par with the area. I do like thr fact that they incorporate the option to add protein to drinks and they focus on plant-based products and sustainable items. There are some seats for sitting and parking is street. I will definitely be back to try more of the specialty drinks and a new bakery item! read more

I stopped here randomly on a walk for a drink. The woman at the cashier was very helpful and suggested an iced hibiscus tea. I like that they have a variety of options and that their tea flavors are rotating. The hibiscus was refreshing (though not very sweet if that's what you're looking for) and had a very mild taste. It's a small space so there is no seating but would recommend for a quick snack or drink if you're on your way to Old Town. read more

Cool little hidden spot near old town Alexandria. They make protein coffee! The inside is small but cute artwork and fun stickers to purchase. There are a few tables outside! If you love plants and coffee, this is where you need to be. If you're on foot it's easily accessible since it's right on the corner of a main street, but parking may be hard to find. It's not a huge place, but if your experience was anything like mine, you'll wish it was so you can stay longer. Between myself, the couple in front of me and the guy behind the counter, we engaged in an interesting discussion on the meaning of "what's good for the goose is good for the gander". It wasn't riveting conversation, but it was inviting and makes one feel that this is a nice place to be (it is). The barista was super friendly and attentive, and spoke to everyone that walked in. Amazing staff, delicious baked goods (try the protein cookie), and the coffee is made to order. You will wait for it, but it's worth it. This is a grab and go place with a wonderful cozy, welcoming vibe. There are a few tables outside. Street parking isn't an issue. The "Giver" latte is my favorite. They use clean ingredients and the coffee drinks aren't overly sweet. They have a frequent purchase club too. A bonus is that they sell locally roasted coffee beans, have plant clippings for sale, and they also have light bites (eg breakfast/lunch "slab). It's the epitome of a coffee shop you'd find on the west coast. And it's been needed in this area for so very long. read more

Anyone who reads any of my posts has probably figured out I firmly believe a caring barista is more important than a perfectly made cortado. However I lucked out at The Greenery because I received a delicious velvety cortado from an awesome barista. Although, I should not be surprised because they use La Coop coffee beans. The second thing to stand out to me was their cups. As I looked around and asked questions I realized The Greenery is probably the most eco-friendly coffee I have ever visited. Thirdly, the building they call home is adorable. As I was crossing Queen Street I remember the blue door on white siding catching my attention and thinking, "I like it." Another thing that stood out to me were the unique names of their drinks; The Giver, The Windfall, The Pancake. This is not the type of shop where you can set up a work space, but it is definitely worth inviting a friend for some yummy coffee and a chat. Enjoying life one cortado at a time! read more

This café is very cute and cozy and well decorated. I got one of the greenery lattes and it was delicious. My reason for leaving four stars instead of five is that there is just one table to sit at and it was occupied. I would've loved to hang around for a while! The drinks were so delicious! My fiancé and I met the owner who was so kind in talking to us through the menu and even offered items not listed on the menu! She was very welcoming to us, which is nice since we just moved to this area. The actual restaurant is so pretty inside with the decorations and even sitting with signs noting that it's reserved for the elderly or disabled.
