Pistachio Eclair, Dubai Chocolate, Walnut Dacquoise, Pistachio Tres Leches March 7, 2026 IG: @pharmingfoodies
    Joyce Y.

This is a bright beautiful bakery full of eclairs, pastries, and cakes to your hearts content. If you are a pistachio lover, you won't regret coming here as there are plenty of pistachio options. I got the pistachio cream eclair and the Dubai mousse cake. I liked the eclair better, the cream inside was light and fluffy and not too sweet. The pistachio flavor wasn't incredibly strong but it was there. I didn't love the Dubai cake as much, it was much heavier and more decadent compared to the eclair. The mousse layers also tasted a bit "cream-cheesy" to me which I'm not personally a fan of. My friend got the pistachio tres leches and walnut dacquoise which was highly recommended by the staff behind the counter. The pistachio tres leches was very unique but I'd say there was very little or no pistachio flavor, it was more like almond extract flavor. The walnut dacquoise was refreshing and very walnutty. Very convenient as there is a free parking lot out front so we parked and walked around the area afterwards.

A cute cafe & bakery! Recommend this spot mostly for their baked goods and desserts, especially their eclairs! We tried their boston creme & tiramisu eclairs and we loved both, not too sweet, and the perfect amount of cream to pastry. Coffee was alright, the Rusty Macchiato was on the sweeter side for me. Note: Parking can be a butt on weekends during peak brunch/lunch hours

Bright and airy cafe in a strip mall in Rosslyn with a ton of both food and drink options Also have some hot food options as well I tried a pastry and a latte and they were both great. There is a fair amount of seating (including 2 small tables outside), but the place was pretty crowded when I came. The seating is also creative in that there are long counters around the perimeter of the room Everything was prepared very quickly

Tl;dr: this place is cute, but this is a place I would go once and be fine not coming back anytime soon. Food - my friend and I both got eclairs. Given their given price points, I thought they were steep - even for Nova standards. The cherry blossom eclair was nothing to rave about, but it did satisfy that sweet craving everyone has once in a while. Service - the staff members made my ordering experience feel a little rushed, although the place was empty when I was there. Atmosphere - this place is cute. Great place to yap with friends over a sweet treat. The place itself was clean and I saw people working on their laptops here.

Cute little cafe in Arlington. Indoor and outdoor seating available. When we went on Sunday there was a decent variety of pastries available. I got the crème brûlée which was very good. My friend got the biscoff eclair and she enjoyed that. If you are looking for non-cafe type drinks you won't find them here. The workers were very pleasant. I would return.

I was so overwhelmed by all the choices the staff must've been so annoyed, but honestly they were so sweet and understanding lol. We got a little selection of pastries and iced matchas. The matchas were on the sweeter side, but I like it that way sooo will def be back. The pastries were on the other hand, not as sweet? Kinda counterintuitive there. Carrot cake is my FAVORITE, so im sad to say this one was not it. It was like cake with carrots. The frosting was also not a cream cheese base, but more that of a buttercream.

I came here for a little pow wow with work colleagues. Very cute and aesthetic cafe to sit and have a little girl time. This cafe has great variety of sweet treats and drinks. Customer service was friendly... one of the staff even helped us with taking pitcures. One thing I must note is that the prices here are VERY steep... even for DC/NOVA standards. So just keep that in mind. I hope to come back for more sweet treats in the future.

Their eclairs are light, delicious and perfect when you're craving something sweet. We got the pistachio and the tiramisu and both were great. Only downside is the price being a bit high

All of the pastries from here are hand crafted, and I've been fortunate enough to try several of them. The best pie is called the Alexandria and it consists of a Macaroni base and then they add layers of vanilla genioise. Then they top it off with white chocolate pistachio glaze. My favorite on-the-go treat is their chocolate eclair that consist of chocolate pastry cream and a special chocolate fondant icing on top. Their cakes are also amazing and the prices reflect that. I've also had some of their creamy dulce leche alfajor cookies. Any pastry that you get from here cannot go without their awesome lattes or cappuccinos. This little cafe is popular for a reason!

Visiting DC sightseeing ?? Local ?? Dessert lover ? All of above?? COME CHECK THIS ! ;) ( do you hear the song in your head? Lol ) Do you know Pastry Xpo ?? This is better! Lol it's the same owner and same goods but I like the ambiance and location here more which doesn't mean at all that the other location isn't my favorite too! ... it's complicated lol My one take on this location is I couldn't find as many Gateaux as I find at Pastry Expo but maybe it's the timing I was? The day after Christmas? Maybe! But honestly I see in the photos that they usually have more just like the Pastry Xpo location The best coffee from Illy with the best dessert in the area! Look at the photos I posted and read their story! Be careful because you will at least spend 10 minutes looking at the different gateaux and you will try to order a new one but then you will choose your favorite again! Lol that's what I do most of the time! Prices are average ... for 2024 ! Special note, the store is well decorated for Christmas in a wonderful way! I felt like I'm sitting in a Hallmark movie! They also sell wonderful Special items for Christmas and Epiphany! All by the French traditions ! 4 different varieties of Bûche de Noël for Christmas Galette des Rois for Epiphany! My message to the great owner Samar , the happiness maker in the DMV area ;) , please open more branches everywhere! Or even small pop-ups to sell your wonderful Gateaux! Oh guys! I forgot to tell you something very important! You see how I'm praising this wonderful establishment?? And I've still never got the chance to try their Savory items!! Lol how about you try it and write a review for us? ;) As usual , Try it, vote for the review , message me, or compliment me with any comment or question, and don't forget to ... Pray for me ;)

    Amazing pastries!

Excellent French pastries! I tried few things; hard to resist. The Ferrero Rocher eclair was great, exactly like a Ferrero chocolate turned into eclair! The cherry ricotta cheese pastry was amazing, made with cerises griottes (sour cherry), just like in Paris. Their Palmier (Elephant Ear) could be the best I've ever had, and I have been eating those cookies since I was a kid! Buttery, crunchy to perfection. I will return.

Not so much now. Now it is good but not exceptional like in the past. Their pastries are getting smaller and the prices have gone up. There is also inconsistencies in quality, with some items being slightly overcooked. Napoleons - these are about half the previous size. Still very good though. Strawberry eclair - smaller than previous. Also, the shell is consistently overcooked now. Quiches - these are around a third of the previous size. Sometimes they are overcooked and dry. Also, the mixed veggie quiche is much smaller in depth to the spinach one Various danishes (cheese, apple, cherry, sticky buns) - all around a third of their previous size. Still great quality and tasty though Sfogliatella (Italian pastry) - surprisingly, these are larger than they used to be. These are not good anymore though. The filling tastes good, but it's a weird texture now that they make it larger. The pastry shell is really hard and chewy now that they are larger. These used to be the greatest ever. It's a shame. Cannoli - tried this for the first time today. Won't ever do that again. The shell was good and crispy. The filling was a weird color and had tiny chocolate chips in it. You could tell it was several days old because the chips were soggy. Also, they filled it when we ordered it - and they just put a tiny bit of filling in it so we could actually see through the shell. Not good.

And those fabulous individual pastries were jewel -like in flavor & in decoration. Anytime I would bring a box filled with PbR's jewels to a friend's home, office party or to my neighbors' block party; I WAS THE DESSERT STAR; deservedly, sharing the best with friends. Then a neighbor brought a PbR coconut cake with lemon curd to our block party and I could not finished my slice... thin cake layers, the "buttercream" was not very buttery but sweet & gritty, what lemon curd?! Nowhere to be found, sadly. The Randolph's retired and the new owners are not reading any of those wonderful recipes from the OGs - Chef Mark Randolph, Chef Cindy & their awesome kitchen team.
