TLDR: Really enjoyed the matcha flavors but wish the matcha quality itself was higher. The cheese pie and baklava were both also really good! My wife and I were in DC recently and wanted a matcha. We hadn't tried Dolphin cafe yet and thought why not. I ordered the seasonal peach matcha and the wife ordered the strawberry matcha. Both flavors were really good and the syrups used were actually good quality. But I wish they used real fruit puree. I feel like that would really level the drinks up. We also ordered a cheese pie and 2 baklava. The cheese pie reminded us of a similar thing we ate in Greece that was so delicious. Pro tip: get a little honey drizzled over the top of it. The baklava was a pistachio baklava, not a walnut so not the Greek way. But it was very moist and delicious still. The service was quick and friendly. There wasn't much interaction outside of ordering and asking questions.
Such a cute cafe and they serve variety of pastries and drinks! My family and I tried the Peach Matcha, Tiramisu Latte, Turkish coffee, and a latte. All the drinks were amazing! Loved the Peach Matcha! I also got the Smoked Salmon Sandwich which was delicious! For small bites we also tried Baklava and Simit- these were good too! The staff were helpful and friendly! I highly recommend this cafe. Definitely will be going back to try more of their specialty drinks!
Stopped by for a quick drink after seeing them online. Tried the oat cereal matcha. It was very good. Sat down and caught up on some reading. It was a little chilly inside and the music stopped playing mid visit. Prior to, they had some great tunes going. It was very busy with lots of downtown foot traffic.
i've been to this shop before when i was in DC a couple of months ago and decided to come back because I really loved the cereal matcha. it definitely has more of a "sweet milk" flavor, with less umami taste from the matcha, but a great cup nonetheless. it's kinda hard to find matcha in DC because the matcha companies here are always popping up and don't really have a set location. dolphin cafe is a reliable, good cup of matcha especially for that reason. the cafe is also really cute and the staff is nice
Dolphin Cafe is well placed in downtown and has some amazing drinks. The atmosphere is super welcoming, as well as the staff. We decided to try the S'mores Latter as well as the Baklava Latte and both were delicious. I will be grabbing coffee from here again before heading back home.

Honestly the drinks are super sweet and a bit overpriced I would say. I've been a couple times and the matcha is not good here, definitely recommend to opt for the coffee based beverages!
Excellent croissant. I will go back as I can't stop thinking about it. I have a coffee and a croissant almost each and every day, and this is one I will be thinking about. I had an oat milk latte and it was very nice and perfect for the weather. I got down-pored on but I could have stayed in the nice seated areas in the cafe. Silly me. Take a peek at the layers so insane.

I got the baklava latte which really is only a baklava on top of a latte with honey drizzled on it. The coffee itself is delicious. I did enjoy it. It wasn't too sweet. I have also tried the tiramisu latte (both with oat milk) and that was good. Toppings were very sweet but coffee had a good taste and not too sweet. Service was great and everyone seemed happy to work here.

I loved their matcha--it was smooth, perfectly balanced, and just the boost I needed. The banana bread latte was a deliciously unique treat, and the croissants were flaky, buttery, and fresh, easily some of the best we've had. Everything felt thoughtfully made and just full of flavor, which made every visit a real highlight of our mornings. Even when there's a long line, it's completely worth the wait. The café has a cozy atmosphere, and the anticipation makes the first sip and bite even more enjoyable. Overall, Dolphin Café is a must-visit for anyone in DC. Decided to check this place out due to the positive reviews in comparison to other coffee locations in the area. When I look for a coffee shop I try to find places that typically has flavored coffees and not just the basic 3 syrups and 5 diff types of coffee preparations etc. This place did not miss on this, they had a huge selection including some seasonal options. We had the smores and Baklava coffees and for the food we had ham and cheese as well as the biscotti croissant. Customer service was on point in breaking down the different pastries that they offered as it was Turkish influenced. Despite the place being a little smaller, there is a center shared table and additional seats on the opposite sides for more space. Definitely recommended and would revisit when in town.
Insane cafe, im truly wow'd. They are true to their coffee and it wakes you up. I got the smores latte with reduced syrups as they do add a bit more, and they made it perfect! They are a class act. The cafe doesnt make you want to leave and im very interested in buying their merch as its 100% cotton. I will definitely try their tiramisu and baklava latte next and maybe add the mascarpone cold foam. The hot drinks are stellar and very worth the money. My friend said the same for the salted caramel-- a cafe that does the hard work for you in terms of flavor combinations is a cafe you pay for. Right now my #1 cafe in dc, close second is good doughnut and company near john hopkins as their black cat expresso is equally good as this place.
It's a small space with limited seating, so definitely more of a quick stop than work café. They have standard pastry options like croissants and cakes but also Mediterranean options like cheese borek and dubai chocolate creations. Not bad! I enjoyed my matcha but you can tell it's not high grade ceremonial matcha from the color and taste. The cafe is cute and service was great! I ordered a little pastry which was alright. Strawberry Matcha 3/5 Peach Matcha 3/5 Flaky cheese pastry 2/5 Baklava 3/5 Overall, it was an average experience for food and drinks. I probably will continue exploring other cafes, but if you're close by stop in and try it out. Especially if you're not a big matcha fan, I think this is a great intro spot since the matcha doesn't have a weird taste to it. read more

Dolphin Cafe is well placed in downtown and has some amazing drinks. The atmosphere is super welcoming, as well as the staff. We decided to try the S'mores Latter as well as the Baklava Latte and both were delicious. I will be grabbing coffee from here again before heading back home. read more

I recently went to Dolphin Cafe and got a Dubai Chocolate Latte and a Dubai Chocolate croissant. While extremely pricy even by DC standards, the latte and the croissant were both good. Dolphin Cafe also offers a discount for people with a federal ID, which is a nice benefit in DC. read more

Randomly stumbled upon this place as we were walking around the area. I love a good iced latte & this place offers unique/fun options. They have a seasonal spring menu that offered several options. We tried the baklava latte & hazelnut crunch latte. Both were delicious & flavorful with a good amount of flavor in both, & the drinks didn't have any artificial tastes as some other shops may have. Overall, glad we stumbled upon this yummy coffee shop! read more

I stopped by Dolphins Cafe twice on my weekend trip in DC. I found the place on social media and it is hyped up for the right reasons. The cafe seating area isn't huge but there's plenty of seating perfect to sit and get some work done or to enjoy your drink. I loved my strawberry matcha and had to go back for the tiramisu latte which was VERY worth it. As these are specialty drinks the price is a bit on the high end but I do believe they are worth it. The cafe was not busy both times I went so service was quick. If you are in the area Dolphin cafe is a must to visit. read more

This is a small cramped little café just a block or two from the White House. As a matter of fact it's probably less than 1000 ft.². There is just one communal table in the middle with seating around the perimeter. There are 3 really small tables for 2 to sit at outside. Inside you'll find croissant sandwiches, quiche, even really tasty baklavas. Great place to sit down with some coffee and enjoy their Wi-Fi if you don't mind customers jostling around you. No public bathroom unless you buy something. Some informative photos included. read more
Such a great menu - there is something for everyone. From basic hot beverages to seasonal ones - they have it all. The staff were quick to prepare them too even with the drinks being complex and intricate. Not only were the drinks delicious they were also so pretty too. This little cafe has a fair amount of tables inside and out so you are able to grab a pastry too if you want to sit down and enjoy it all. read more

Very cute cafe!! I've gotten the strawberry match a couple times and it's consistently very good. They not only have strawberry flavor but also the puree at the bottom. The staff are very sweet and very informative on the products, which is helpful for knowing how sweet/intense a drink might be! My only downside is they're a little pricey even for DC but they at least come in a good size for the price! read more
My bride and I had just stopped to see the White House and, in need of a restroom and a little respite from the swirling winds that were engulfing this particular district, sought momentary relief inside the Dolphin Cafe. To his immense credit, Proprietor Rich was welcoming, hospitable and gracious, gently offering my wife Leti to use the restroom even if we didn't buy anything. Of course we bought coffee and hot chocolate and enjoyed our brief but rejuvenative stop in the gleaming, pristinely clean Dolphin Bar. Come for the assortment of hot or cold coffees, teas, stay for the delectable array of imported Turkish and Mediterranean pastries! Rich and his colleague are welcoming, gracious guests. read more
I wasn't hungry but it was a cold and rainy day and some Turkish tea sounded good, so we stopped here for some tea and ended up also getting some regular baklava and some cold chocolate baklava. When I said I couldn't eat a thing, I was wrong because both of those pastries were soooo good. Service was very friendly.... the Turkish hospitality was in full effect (maybe it helps that my husband is Turkish). You may just walk by this tiny place because it looks like it might be part of the university in the same building, but don't pass up the opportunity to stop in. read more

Very cute small coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of people were working on their laptops when we came in. Service was timely, but I don't necessarily think the lattes are worth the price since it didn't seem like the syrups were made in‑house. The strawberry matcha was good though! read more
Small cute coffee shop in DC! Love the vibes and drinks of this place. I got the tiramisu latte and it was pretty good. Not life changing, but pretty tasty. They have one large table in the center and a couple of smaller tables scattered around but I wouldn't bank on finding a seat if you want to work here. The service is great and the barista was really nice! Would love to go back and try more drinks. read more
