This is a different type of cafe altogether because they serve more than just coffee. I was working across the street and I stopped over here for a simple codfee. When I walked in, I noticed a few customers eating a trial full course breakfast meals. Then I saw their complete breakfast and lunch menu by the register. I actually had about an hour to kill, so I went ahead and requested the breakfast burrito breakfast meal. Once I got it, it almost seemed like it was prepared by a chef. The burrito also included a small side salad which was nice. That whole meal along with the coffee was less than $10. The dining room area is three times the size of most regular cafes, which makes it more like a restaurant. I thoroughly enjoyed the burrito.

Great place, great coffee and food. Love their coffee concept. Service is very friendly. You order at the counter n then servers will bring the food to yr table. Place is clean and very lovely.

Okay... coming from NYC I simply can't find it in me to complain about a nice big coffee shop with so much seating and table space for people to do work with friends. Like this cafe is just HUGE and beautiful, has tons of options for drinks, pastries, and even an actual food menu. I ordered the BEC, which was packed with all the fillings. I thought the filling was slightly on the mushy side, but the croissant was delicious, and the whole thing was so big that I just can't complain. I also got a caramel latte, which was standard. All in all this is just such a pretty cafe, and I know there are a ton of these, but all that seating and the table space... a student's dream.

It is a great place to get work done though the WiFi can be unstable at times. Food and drinks are good but overpriced.

I came here for a matcha latte in the morning and was drawn to their healthy menu of breakfast and lunch which all items are available all day. Trying to minimize carbs, I ordered the Touasillini (sp?) salad with grilled shrimp and cheese. It looked promising when it came out. The shrimp and the cheese were prepped with just way too much salt. Maybe it's my sensitive CA tastebuds but I don't think so! I have low blood pressure but after all that salt intake, maybe I walked out of there normal. The other thing that I was really surprised about are the service charges which total close to 15% and they ask if you want to add a tip on top of it. Granted, they did have a sign up that says service charge applies. My salad and matcha with tip totaled $33. Expensive for breakfast. The only saving grace is it's a nice space to chill and do work. Knocked off 1 star for food and 1 for price.

I went to the one on M St in Navy Yard, but they don't have a Yelp page, so I'll give my review here:) I stumbled upon this place when I was in Navy Yard and my partner came and met me. It was very cute with a lot of options. They're known for their big chunky unique cookies. I got the s'mores one and their small-ish spinach and feta spanakopita. The spanakopita was AMAZING! it was fresh and warm and filling. The cookie was so-so. There are better places in DC and I thought it was a little dry, but I enjoyed it and I liked the fun s'mores flavor. However, these 2 items together were $17, which is just RIDICULOUS. It included a 4% service charge and tax of course, but they then had the audacity to ask if I wanted to tip 20. DC is expensive and places like these are luxuries, but I've never seen prices like this. My partner got an iced latte and it was $11. It was large (24oz), but they didn't have size options and even so, I've never seen this price ever. They have limited indoor seating, but a ton of seating outside, which is where I sat. Their seating is very nice. I also liked their staff- they were friendly and recommended the cookie I chose confidently.

As soon as I saw the cookies at For Five Coffee I knew we needed to give it a try. But when we arrived I was pleasantly surprised to find that their menu has so much more to offer. There was a wide variety of people in the cafe from gatherings of friends to individuals working from home, coming together and breaking bread (cookies) over a delicious menu of sweet and savory options. If you're a cookie lover like me, you cannot miss out on trying their s'mores stuffed cookie or the funfetti cookie. I'm so happy to have found a new place to satisfy my sweet tooth.

The breakfast sandwich was garbage. Packaged guacamole, frozen ciabatta no flavor at all. Would never order food here again Staff was wonderful.

Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. I was first introduced to this place a few years ago by my brother who lives in DC. And, let me tell you, It was love at first bite! I absolutely love coming here anytime I'm in town. I always get the German Chocolate Cupcake. It's not the traditional German chocolate that you'd expect. The chocolate cake itself is a rich moist decadent, dark chocolate. Not the traditional light and airy cake that is German chocolate. But, it's still delicious! The frosting is pure perfection! It has notes of coconut, caramel, and sweet vanilla. It's so unbelievably moist, decadent, and delicious that you wish that you had 2X as much. But, it'd be too rich at that point. They truly have the well balanced cupcake down. They have plenty of seating. So, if you're not in a rush. Sit down and enjoy the ambience. Also, they have a really nice coffee bar with incredibly delicious coffee, tea, and tasty treats. So, make sure to check it out. The cupcakes are a little pricey. But, don't let the price tag scare you away for enjoying a once and a lifetime treat. They're worth every penny! I've enjoyed seeing them become the fancy bakery that they are today and hope that everyone tries them. So, that you can experience your love at first bite moment! You won't regret it.

Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
