12.00 for 4 bites of hash, a niblet of breakfast potatoes and 2 eggs with toast. Definitely not worth the money

Small place for overpriced food. Value, flavor and substance were all missing at this place. I understand that everyone is trying to make a living but dont cheap out on portion size qhwn you're charging full price.

Nice, easy place right of Farragut North metro to get breakfast. Small interior with some seating outside. I got the breakfast burrito w/ sausage and I was full all day - didn't even need to eat lunch. Friendly staff and pretty quick service. Probably gets busy later in the morning and no call ahead service but I got my food in 15 mins.

Pretty good. This was recommended by a hotel staff member and a block or two from our hotel. Some outdoor seating available, but it's more of a grab-n-go kind of place. Had the croissant sandwich with sausage, hash browns, and eggs. I wish every breakfast croissant came with hash browns. So good! You can also get a breakfast burrito or breakfast platter for a reasonable price. Definitely a great rec!

    #2 BREAKFAST Platter. $10.99

We stumbled upon this place right outside our hotel -- $10.99 for 2 eggs, corned beef hash, potatoes and 2 slices of toast. Can't beat that! Same price for a western omlette with ham, onions, and bell peppers, potatoes and 2 slices of toast. So good that we came two days in a row, and it would have been more, except they aren't open on Sundays! The space is small with only 5 bar stools, but there is outdoor seating when the weather is nice. The owner Al has been here for 35 years and offers great quick service with a smile! We wish his business well but also wishes that he reaches his retirement goal soon!

    Two eggs with sausage

I was staying nearby and I wanted a quick, hearty breakfast. Sunrise Cafe certainly fit the bill. The woman working the register was extremely friendly. I had two eggs over medium, potatoes, and sausage. Everything was very tasty. Breakfast with a bottle of water was around $12.00. There is seating inside/outside. This isn't fancy, but if you are looking for a quick meal and a reasonable price, this is a solid option. I would return.

2 Eggs with French Toast + bacon

It's is great food at a good price. Service was fast and friendly. It's a tinny cafe but does have outdoor seating. Inside there is a single bar along the window facing the street. I got the French toast and it was good. 3 plates and 2 drinks came to around 40 dollars.

    2 Eggs with Toast

It was alright. I feel like what I ordered is something I could make at home. It seemed like everyone was ordering the sandwiches, so maybe those are better. There is a small window bar inside for eating, but apart from that, the tables are located outside. I don't recommend eating outside because we were eaten alive by mosquitoes.

The standout of the morning was the breakfast side potatoes--crispy, seasoned perfectly, and easily something I'd come back for. The breadbasket came with three pastries, which felt a bit smaller than expected, but the almond croissant more than made up for it. On the heartier side, the chicken and waffles were extremely filling thanks to the dense waffles, so definitely a dish to tackle with an appetite. One of the biggest surprises was the brunch salad with salmon, which ended up being one of the best salads I've had in a long time--fresh, balanced, and satisfying. The breakfast sandwich was another highlight: so good that it's now the new standard I'll compare all other breakfast sandwiches to. The smoked salmon bagel was also a fun experience, served deconstructed so you can build each bite exactly how you like it. Not everything was a hit--the French toast wasn't my favorite--but the overall meal was strong enough that it barely detracted from the experience. Brunch offers a few additions beyond the regular breakfast menu, but overall it's very similar to their standard breakfast, just with a couple of extra options. It tends to get full on the weekends to make a reservation. Bottom line: Penbrook is a beautiful hotel restaurant that punches above its weight--excellent service, memorable dishes, and several items worth returning for.

Super popular tourist spot (and with good reason!),I def reccomend making a reservation. Luckily for my visit on a Saturday at 1pm, the wait to be seated wasn't too long, only about 10 minutes. I've never had oysters anywhere besides New York so I wanted to try them here and my mom got the fried oyster deviled eggs. Our sever Stephanie was such a delight and probably has the coolest pin collection I've ever seen. Also the restaurant just has a really beautiful atmosphere to sit down and enjoy some really great hospitality. Onto the food! Oysters were smaller than I thought they'd be but SO FLAVORFUL and just the right amount of brine, and slid beautifully from the shell 10/10 The deviled eggs were given a 10/10, presentation was beautiful and the pickled relish was a well rounded addition We then finished up by sharing the cheasapeake eggs Benedict! Which featured their famous crab cake. The HOLLANDAISE?? literally danced in my mouth. The crab meat was so tender and buttery! Only difference I would've loved if the smoked paprika that was on the deviled eggs to also be featured on the Benedict! Over all it was a very lovely and sense awakening experience 9/10

It's moved around a bit over the years and the exact original location is a mystery. The restaurant story is just the start. The food of course is where it's at. Old Ebbitt is famous for it's crab cakes according to the server so you know what direction I went in. They were more like a Maryland crab cake which has a ton of meat. We were at their lunch dining so salads were also ordered and tasted amazing. Finished the mean off with a Key Lime Pie and coffee. Reservations are highly recommended given its popularity. They also asked that all attendees in your party are present so remember that to be seated. Situated near the White House, and directly across the street from The Department of Treasury, it's an ideal spot for a meal before or after site seeing. What's clear about Old Ebbitt Grill is its longstanding appeal. President McKinley was such a fan he reportedly lived there during his Congressional days. Presidents Grant, Johnson, Cleveland, and Roosevelt all stopped in, basically making it a hot spot in Washington. If it's President approved you should go also!

And when it's named after the establishment it has to be good. And it was! The sugar sprinkled cake donut was warm and tasty - a must try! I also ordered the corn soup. It was a small bowl of, you guessed it, kernel corn infused soup base with a crusty covering. The shell (reminded me of crème brûlée) was good, but I was a bit disappointed that the soup was only lukewarm. The best part of the meal was the hush puppies. Novice was the bartender and recommended the Proper burger. I added my typical fries and a Diet Coke. The burger came out quickly. Right off the bat, it's visually amazing. A properly stacked Burger is hard to find. The 2 best things about this burger are 1. The taste , and 2. The form of the burger. The taste is absolutely fantastic. The Gouda paired perfectly with the red onions and the perfectly cooked, juicy beef patties. The aioli was just enough and not overbearing, like looking at a painting of a castle and noticing the subtle blurred background of misty forest. The arugula added another layer of flavor that helped kick this burger into the highest echelons of Burger superiority. And of course, the brioche bun was perfect for this style of burger. It kept its shape while I gently smushed it down in my hands. The entire burger kept its shape and didn't fall apart like some other Burgers will. As I sank my teeth into the first bite, the first thing I noticed was all the flavors blending together. Each bite afterwards just added to my mystified and puzzled bewilderment. The texture was moist and soft. As I chewed and swallowed each morsel, I began to think to myself, is this it? Is my search over? Is this the BEST burger in the country? Never had I tasted such a wonderful burger! (Sorry In-N-Out 2x1, raw onions, chopped chilis, toasted bun, you are no longer on the top of my list). As I neared completion of my newly discovered epitome of gluttonous desires, a feeling of sadness started to take over. I would be done with the burger in a few more bites, and with that, my journey would conclude. I sat there, staring at what would be my final bite. The last bit of pleasure in between my slender fingers, still dripping with the juices God had placed there after it was grilled to perfection in the Kitchen. I placed the final delectable piece into my mouth. I spent what felt like an eternity chewing this treasure before finally gulping down the goblet of wonder. What came after was a feeling of pure bliss. I had finally done it. All the years, all the time dedicated to finding the best Burger ever, is complete. One thing that really stands out is their customer service. On our last visit, we arrived just five minutes before they switched from the brunch menu to lunch, and they still let us order brunch without making us feel rushed. That kind of flexibility and kindness really makes a difference. If you're a fan of Bloody Marys, don't skip them here! They make one of the best I've had and it's the perfect complement to brunch. The atmosphere is lively but comfortable, and unlike a few other restaurants we visited during the summer, they actually keep the air conditioning on, which made our meal much more enjoyable on a hot day.
