Love this place! I was in the area for a week for week, and I found this spot for breakfast. I'd highly recommend coming here! I've tried their coffee, omelettes, salad and breakfast sandwich. Everything I've tried here was delicious. I can't wait to come back to DC and stop by here again. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking this spot out for breakfast. They are connected to the Generator Hotel; they're in the lobby. They have seating available inside; they also have outdoor seating available for customers. The servers were friendly and helpful. There were also other options available for food and drinks, but I was just looking for good coffee and a delicious breakfast sandwich. I'm glad I found this spot.

I'm staying at the Washington Hilton and have been seeing Cafe Integral all week, wondering what visits they might have over there across the street. Today, I finally made it over to check it out. It's clean, swanky and a bit small. And now that I've picked my jaw off the floor from the price I paid for two items, I'll tell you about it. First, I ordered a Chai with oat milk in my personal cup. It was tasty. Not filled to the top of the cup, and not the hottest. But still tasty. I asked for an avocado toast with egg to go. While waiting, I observed that the one person writing continued to offer the same friendly service to everyone. He brought my food to me, where I was waiting, after 5 minutes or so. I noticed utensils in the bag, and gave them back. Perhaps they could just hand them out by request. The avocado toast and egg was GOOOD. While the egg was cooked a bit more than I'd prefer, it wasn't too hard. And the avocado was perfectly ripe and piled high. Yum. And no utensils needed.

Happy discovery while staying at neighboring hotel while on professional visit to DC. The cafe's summer 2022 breakfast menu is smaller than what is posted on website, but is wide enough to satisfy anyone's preference. Recommended by the barista (and now me) is the breakfast sandwich, composed of moist fennel sausage, egg, raspberry mustard, and baby arugula on a brioche bun. The coffees are expertly crafted, with the cafe offering some creative iterations, including the horchata latte. Interior and exterior seating overlooking the Generator Hotel entrance ramp are available.

My $15 avocado toast.

Disappointed. I was hoping for something spectacular and was very underwhelmed. Ordered the avocado toast. $15! Yes, $15! The bread was thick and the avocado scanty. Not worth the money paid. If it had been half the price, I would've tolerated it better. They had one guy working out front. He was very kind but one staff person in front is not enough. One lady came in and stood at the register for several minutes cause the guy working the register left to get my food from the kitchen. There was no one else there to help him. Sadly, despite the nice guy trying to do his best, this would be a "don't recommend".

Overall, the coffee shop had a lovely ambiance and aesthetic, creating a pleasant atmosphere. However, the service left something to be desired, as it was not the greatest. The food was merely average, which didn't quite meet expectations.

Asada burrito

The burrito came with nothing but meat. They told me there would be beans and there wasn't. Also very small burrito. All for $18 definitely not worth it. Meat was good but would never buy this again.

$12 for avocado toast? A bit steep, but the other items on the menu seemed normally priced. Having said that the avocado toast was good. High quality bread and ample avocado. Breakfast burrito was also good Decaf americano spot on. Nice and clean space, some outdoor seating. A bit slower on the food than I'd expect for a cafe but nothing crazy.

This was a great, stylish place for a break during a busy conference at the Washington Hilton, which is just across the street. Sure, the Hilton has a Starbucks, but I never can stand the cheap, burnt taste of Starbucks coffee. I loved the delicious coffee here, and would absolutely come back again!

This time we had our baby and I wasn't impressed with the lack of sides or anything to get for her. We asked for two eggs scrambled with cheese but were told we'd have to buy an egg prosciutto sandwich for $11 and tell them we didn't want any of the items. Um, no. The tuna sandwich asked for lettuce and told can't add lettuce. My husband asked for something not on his lamb pita, same story. Oh well. No customization at all, no subs. Makes business easier, but not as attractive for price point for customers. I'll remember to keep it to coffee and pastries from now on. Chicken pita was good, a bit heavy on the parsley but loved the dressing. Tuna sandwich was a hit. Pastries are always good. My pistachio latte was chewy bc it had grainy bits of pistachio in it. Not to my liking. $70 for three sandwiches, two coffees and two cookies.

What keeps me coming back time and time again are their double-fried tostones. The texture and flavor is absolutely insane, and the sauce it comes with is to die for. The staff seemed a bit overburdened trying to keep up with orders and get everything out in time. That said, the young man and woman who prepared my order were kind and very focused on doing their best. I definitely plan to return and give them another try under less hectic conditions. This location is an entire vibe. It's tucked down a painted alley that leads you to a side entrance, which I actually preferred over the front. Parking is what it is at the Wharf, but I recommend parking near the museum and walking over. Once inside, you're met with gorgeous decor and a thoughtfully designed space that feels like a Spanish-style bar set in nature. The tile, the color palette, and the food and drink options all come together beautifully. I ordered the Carrot Cake Con Leche, which came out to about $8 after tax. It was tasty and a great treat after my morning run. It did take about 15 to 20 minutes to receive my order, but given how busy it was, that felt understandable. I'm looking forward to returning and experiencing it at a calmer time.

The service was friendly and quick. The space itself was very clean and simple. It seemed to be a study spot for college students so it was a bit hard to grab a place to sit for a few minutes until somebody left. Definitely worth stopping in, grabbing your coffee, and walking to the waterfront on a quiet morning. That's not exactly how we did it, but I think that's a plan for the next time we return to DC.

Also learned that they offer classes there! Love that they have I house roasting that you can also see. Ordered the Banana Foster's Iced Latte - however, it wasn't over ice? It was lukewarm. I think if it was over ice it would have been better. We found that strange and that is what knocked it down to 4 stars. Famous Chef Thomas Reviews: Dolcezza (Washington, DC)…read more The Famous Chef Thomas visited Dolcezza in Washington, DC, expecting a proper café experience, especially at the prices being charged. When a place is asking $4 to $7 for tea or a latte, there is an obligation to deliver something above the level of a bargain counter operation. Instead, the Famous Chef Thomas was handed a tea cup with the tea bag resting on top, wasting valuable brewing time and shifting the work onto the customer like some cheap do-it-yourself setup. That may be understandable at McDonald's for $1.79, but at Dolcezza it is unacceptable. At these prices, the worker should have already put the tea bag in the cup, added the honey, and served a finished product with care. Do not charge premium café prices and then behave like preparation is somehow the customer's responsibility. And to casually tell the customer that the honey is over at the stand only adds insult to laziness. Hospitality is not pointing. Hospitality is serving. What makes it worse is that this place has clearly declined from where it was when it first opened years ago. The standards are slipping, and it shows in more than one way. The table was dirty, and because this visit was early in the morning, that dirt had to be left over from the previous day. That is not a small oversight. That is evidence of poor closeout, poor maintenance, and weak attention to detail. Then came the final insult: too many bugs. The Famous Chef Thomas had to kill them or dodge them just to sit there, which made it impossible to enjoy the experience without feeling like he was in a battle against being bitten. A café cannot expect customers to relax, sip tea, and enjoy themselves while swatting pests away from the table. Dolcezza is charging as if it still deserves a premium reputation, but the service, cleanliness, and overall execution no longer support it. Premium prices require premium standards. The Famous Chef Thomas did not receive them here. The verdict: lazy service, dirty conditions, bugs, and a café experience that has fallen far below its old standard. The Famous Chef Thomas is not impressed
