The La Colombe on Blagden Alley is cozy and quaint with a modern urban vibe. Tucked in a pedestrian-only alley, it's an ideal place for a caffeine break for attendees at the nearby Convention Center. It has lots of pluses. First, the drip coffee here was excellent and smooth. Second, the service was friendly and prompt on a Sunday afternoon. Due to the limited space, however, you may need to "grab-n-go".

Solid matcha option! Walked here on a Sunday morning and although the shop was busy, we didn't wait in line to order and received our drinks in only a few minutes. We took our drinks to go, but it didn't look like there was a lot of open seating inside. Matcha itself was solid, but nothing exceptional. I would definitely order it again!

Unique coffee experience! Small coffee house vibes inside. Wasn't sure what to order so the baristas offered some tastings of the lattes on tap! It was incredible and helpful in guiding our order. Ended up with a plain latte and a London fog. That latte was standard but fun to try the fresh version of what they can. The early grey took me back to my favorite college coffee shop. It was pure nostalgia for me and loved every sip. Husband wished it was a warmer day because he would have gotten one of the coffees on tap.

Great place to get a cup of coffee and a pastry. The staff were super friendly and helpful. They have non-coffee drinks as well and their seasonal coffee offerings change regularly. It is also kind of in a hidden alley which adds to the appeal!

Big fan of La Colombe and try to visit shops whenever I travel and a city happens to have one or more. I tried this La Colombe as I was walking around the Blagden Alley area. It's a quaint spot with lots of street art. This La Colombe was lovely! Great decor inside and out, ample seating, and nice staff. I had a draft latte and really enjoyed it. Super fresh and great balance of flavor. A nice variety of options for hot + cold drinks and some pastries.

I love this coffee shop! Friendly baristas, tasty espresso, and overall good vibes. Only negative is that it's packed on weekend mornings, but if you find yourself here on a weekday or after the morning rush, it was not disappoint! I usually get a hot or iced latte, but they currently have a strawberry latte special that I just had to share with fellow yelpers - subtle taste and not too sweet which to me makes for the perfect balance of flavor in my coffee!

Always had La Colombe coffee in cans but never visited one of their actual coffee shops before! I got the draft oat milk latte as recommended by so many Yelp Elites. I loved every single sip of it! Indeed it was super creamy and smooth. The oat milk flavors as well as the latte/coffee flavors are both very prominent! Its also served cold but without ice which is typically my go-to preference! Their chocolate croissant was pretty standard. Wish I got to try their pumpkin cro-fin (croissant muffin)? Store itself radiated your cute hipster coffee shop vibes with brick walls, black tables, and long bar stool area. Staff were nice to me, but I wish they were more patient in explaining different drink options to others who may not know as much about coffee? La Colombe offers a wide range of coffee options and honestly as a frequent coffee shop visitor I was still a little intimidated. La Colombe is clearly really proud of their attention to the technicality of coffee making, but I wish that information was more accessible/available in a welcoming way to those who want to learn more. Overall, love their fancy coffee and hope they can reach more people with their yummy drinks!

They were playing bossa and jazz. I opted for the Aren latte and Indonesian beef rissole. Aren latte: 5/5 Latte with an in-house made 3/5 Aren (palm sugar from West Java) for that hint of molasses and dark brown sugar This was one of my favorite coffees I've had in a while. There was a delicious coffee taste not overshadowed but rather enhanced by the smoky sweet taste of the Aren. I'll be thinking about this latte for a while. Indonesian beef rissole: Batter-like skin rolled in breadcrumbs filled with savory ground halal beef & sautéed vegetables While I've never had this dish before, I googled pictures of what it should look like, and mine seemed to have significantly less meat than it should've. The taste was still delicious and seasoned and hearty, but it was mostly mush with some veggies and hardly any beef. While I thought the rissole was disappointing, I love the aren latte so much I'll still keep the 5 star review.

I'm in search of the best croissant in DC, so I regret not getting the regular croissant on this visit, but the chocolate croissant gave me an idea of what to expect. Buttery, flaky, crispy, with just the perfect amount of sweetness. The typical chocolate croissant was my personal favorite. When we asked what the most popular items were, we were surprised it wasn't the more classic bakery items, but we enjoyed what we tried. We want to go back soon to try some other items as well. The cafe itself is huge, absolutely beautiful, and was packed when I visited. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, so it's a great spot whether you're meeting friends or getting some work done. The pastry case also looked incredible, I had such a hard time choosing, and I'll definitely be back to try more. I ordered a matcha, and I really appreciated that it wasn't pre-sweetened. It was creamy, earthy, and let the matcha shine. If you like your matcha a little sweeter, I'd recommend adding their in-house pistachio syrup. The only small downside was that it seemed like they use matcha concentrate that's prepared in advance rather than whisking each drink fresh. It was still good, but I do prefer freshly whisked matcha. Even with that, I'd absolutely come back. Their menu is extensive, everything coming out of the kitchen looked delicious, and the whole space has such a welcoming vibe. Also, take a minute to read the story behind the name "Tatte." It's such a sweet story and made me appreciate this place even more.
