I recently took my my family to Bistro Du Jour for Mother's Day. She has been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and we were not disappointed. She ended up getting the steak frites and I got the burger American. Hospitality was great. We even met one of the managers of hospitality. It's connected to a hotel so they have pretty extensive hours. The one thing I would say was that the fries were decent but the burger was amazing. The restaurant was beautiful inside, very elegant. I look forward to going back.

My friend and I came here right after some yoga in the hotel. The staff was very attentive, my food was great the salt needed eggs but everything was very fresh. The steak my friend had was a little tough for a medium well steak but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the drinks. The pink drink is the peach bellini and it was great too! Food came quickly, it was a calm environment, and I would honestly come again!

What a wonderful experience! The food was absolutely delicious, at competitive prices, and the drinks were top notch, even the mocktails! The deviled egg with caviar was delicious and the salad with salmon I had as an entree were extremely fresh. The salmon was perfectly medium rare, and the wait staff could not have been nicer! I had asked about a bookshop (I was traveling and didn't know the surrounding area) and even though the waitress did not know, she looked it up for me! I even got my deviled egg for free since I'd been traveling all day! So sweet! If you are anywhere near the Capitol, make this a must stop! You will not regret it!!

Incredible food. Sat outside for weekday lunch. Service was excellent by Briseyda! Food was incredible. French 75 cocktail was to die for. We enjoyed the PEI mussels, the Salade Verte, a salad with grapefruit, fennel, avocado and salmon, and a pistachio tart. Yum and beautiful views.

Not far from the Union Station, the venue can really catch people's eye with its front flowery decorations. It's a big restaurant with a bar, nice and tasteful decor. Standard service, nothing special. food was decent, we liked escargot. The steak was good but a bit salty.

French bistro beautifully decorated and located at The Royal Sonesta Hotel. Populate spot for locals and guests alike. Food was great and came out quickly. Service received was perfect! Noise level here is low to moderate.

I forgot that I visited this place and to leave a review. Life sometimes interrupts your plans. This was one of the best restaurants I went to when I visited DC for work. Walked in for a late lunch and was able to get seated right away. The staff were quite friendly. Highly recommend the salmon dish. And don't let me forget about the coffee and ice cream that you can get to close out a delicious lunch. It goes very well with a tasty wine from their great selection.

Cute French dining in the Royal Sonesta hotel. The ambience is great and, more importantly, the food and drink were delicious. Stayed at the hotel and was able to try the latte, dinner and dessert before leaving the area. For dinner ordered the chicken or however you pronounce "Poulet Rôti Au Poireau" (not pictured) to take to my room. Oh my gosh was it good! The sauce and the mashed potatoes with spinach were a perfect combo. Next night went down for a pastry with pistachio cream dessert at the bar. Though this place is definitely cutesy there were a few folks watching Monday night football game at the bar, so still laid-back. And the bar staff were really personable if you choose to sit.

I met my friend here for brunch on a Sunday morning. It is located adjacent to the Royal Sonesta Hotel. The bright and dainty interior puts you at ease. The relaxed atmosphere and the aroma of freshly brewed coffee was just what I needed on a Sunday morning! I had the avocado toast made from a delicious croissant topped with a tasty fried egg on a bed of avocado, arugula, radish slices and pickled onion slices. It was delicious! My friend and I shared slices of sweet fresh fruit (cantaloupe, honeydew melon, blueberry, blackberry and strawberry). Our server was attentive and topped off our coffee cups and water glasses. It was a pleasant start to our Sunday!

I came here for lunch on a Wednesday. It was a late lunch, so I was seated immediately. Food: I ordered the following for my lunch: Gazpacho - This was refreshing for a summer day! It was flavorful and nice. French Fries - Fries were standard, but delicious nonetheless Gnocchi - These pillowy soft and delicious. I enjoyed the cream sauce. Crème Brulee - This was pretty standard and good. Service: Service was friendly. It felt a little slow at times or I had to catch my waiter's attention to get service. However, it was never too long. TL;DR - good food w/ decent service.

We had the most wonderful experience at this restaurant! The service was great. Our waitress, I'm sorry I don't remember her name, but she mentioned she's from Ukraine. She was very sweet. Even offered some warm tea for my son who was feeling under the weather during our vacation. The food was absolutely delicious!! My French husband was in heaven. Definitely recommend it!

High quality ingredients in a beautiful space. Patient and careful service even though I was dining with a toddler. There was live music on Sunday brunch hours. My 3 year old had Mac and cheese, I had deviled eggs, pate with macaron and the lyonaisse salad with salmon which was perfectly cooked. My little one loved the Mac and cheese and salmon - even the crispy skin! Overall a great spot for brunch!

I was already impressed by the weekend happy hour deals. I started with the Aromatic whites wine flight (great pours for $12!!). All 3 wines were delicious and the bartender, Fabio was the best and very engaging throughout my time at the bar. I had the beef tartare and it was the best I've ever had! I then ordered a glass of the Domain du Somail Red Blend paired with the steak frites, which was the best pairing. I was stuffed but decided to get the crème brulee, which you could never go wrong with. It was the best CB I've had in a while. I will definitely be back for restaurant week or just an impromptu happy hour.

My counterparts enjoyed their Long Island Duck Breakfast (with seared asparagus, cumin carrot puree, cippolini onions, and port sauce), the Maryland Rockfish (with artichoke barigoule, carrots, brasied fennel, and noilly prat sauce), and the Local Roasted Chicken (with English peas, carrots, baby potatoes, and truffle jus). If you want to sop up your sauce with bread, don't forget to order the breadbasket! Dispelling the myth that French cuisine is pretentious, we felt like we were in a home, and that we would be fed full to the brim. Came in while it was packed late into the night. We were sat immediately and had a wonderful time. Our waitresses were patient and had great recommendations for our first time trying French food. They seem incredibly experienced and added comfort in the way they spoke to their customers and ran their tables. We were even greeted by the owner who was great and cheery to each table he visited. The one night we went, it was incredibly packed with people having intimate, lighthearted, and laughter-filled gatherings, tables with multiple rounds of wine, everyone sharing their fries, and so he should feel proud of this place. Touches like this made it as though we were dining in someone's house. And I love that they start you off generously with bread and butter. Its a type of french loaf that is nice and fluffy, and I'd recommend setting some on the side if you're ordering a brothy dish. We ordered Moules Marinières, which came in a delightfully large cauldron of juicy plump clean muscles swimming in an herbaceous-garlicky white wine sauce. Unassumable from the simplicity of ingredients they threw together, but incredibly complex in flavor. This is one of the few times I actually tasted bay leaf, and amongst the fewer times I found the use of rosemary not be so overpowering. The mussel liquor at the bottom was perfect when soaked up in bread. What an incredible dish. We also tried a classic, Le Steak Maison, which was also distinctively flavorful. Our steak had a perfect cook at medium rare, and was uniquely seasoned with some sort of blend of herbes de provence. The fries were pretty standard and substantial, but paired with the Béarnaise sauce, it was such a tangy play of richness and acidity. Again really simple ingredients just executed so well. Great job, looking forward to coming again to try more on this large menu.

Maybe they were all reserved? Not sure. We were greeted by the staffs and shown to the table. Smooth and fast. All the menu looked tempting so had hard time choosing which one to go with. Went with meatloaf and miso salmon. Meatloaf was really good! Flavorful with tender/juicy meat combined with onions, bell peppers etc. Miso salmon was also good! Okra and broccoli were adding more taste to the dish itself. No complaints at all! The prices were on the higher side though. Menu says each are $28. However, there was mandatory service charge of 20% and tax was calculated after the service charge, which end up being approximately $40 per menu item we got - miso salmon and meatloaf. Wish the menu price would just include service charges so prices would not be misleading with all the charges after. Not sure if this is because of World Cup 2026, but too bad they had to hit their customers with extra fees after enjoying the meals which could have ended happily rather than leaving a bad taste in the mouth.
