OK, first I want to shout out Mike N. He was such a professional and thoughtful server. Next, I want to shout out an amazing dish. I think it was called Lamb Two Ways. If you're at all open to eating lamb, you must have this. It's hard to describe the bottom part was maybe like a braised lamb inside a very thin and delicate pastry crust. It was not like any kind of lamb pie that you've ever had before. It was so delicious and rich, it could be a dessert. Not really, but it's so awesome. And then it had lamb slices on top of it, which were so tasty as well. We really liked all the dishes that we tried here, especially the appetizers. The room is incredibly stylish and very close to a Metro , so convenient. I'm looking forward to going back for the brunch, which I understand is a very fun time.

tl;dr - Really good service, but the wait time for food was long. We arrived around 6 PM and left 2.5 hours later. The ambiance was nice, and my friend and I enjoyed our time yapping and eating. ESCARGOTS "CROQUE MONSIEUR" - 22 The escargot was incredibly garlicky and filled with fresh parsley, and it was tender and sweet. Our server gave us complimentary bread service to enjoy the leftover butter which was delicious. ONION SOUP GRATINÉE - 18 The best French onion soup I've ever had. There was a thick layer of melted gruyére cheese that draped over a bowl of miso-based vegetable broth mixed with a generous amount of soft, caramelized onion. The soup was rich and flavorful, and I even peeled most of the cheese off the bowl because it was that good. My friend and I both enjoyed this greatly. STEAK TARTARE - 26 Our server really hyped up the steak tartare saying it was one of the best he's eaten, but we thought it was overly salty. My friend thought it was a bit sour. We also didn't love how heavy it was since it was topped with cubed fries. LA PAELLA DE CASSOULET - 58 By the time we got to the paella, we were already really full. The portion size looked really big since it was wide, but it was actually less than half an inch deep. The rice was delicious, filled with flavors of duck fat, seasoning, sausage, and pork belly. However, it was a bit too rich and thick after a few bites, and we got tired. A bit too heavy overall, but we would definitely recommend the escargot and French onion soup. Maybe we'll get the cured hamachi crudo next time since it's a much lighter option.

The good: turns into a night club vibe at 2pm for those that like that kind of thing. It was definitely giving French riveria vibes with the live music, dancers and spinning napkins everywhere. The bad: the FOOD! Tried about 3-4 dishes as I was with a party of 12. Hated everything. Could barely swallow the burger it was so bad! How do you mess up a burger??! Will definitely return if I eat a proper meal somewhere else first and then come just for the entertainment! Entertainment was 10/10!

As they say in French "Magnifique!!!!" For my birthday celebration, my boyfriend surprised me with a lovely dinner at Barbouzard. This gem is a triple threat for quality wait staff, unique drinks, and exotic food/desserts. I would even go the extra mile and say that their decor is top as it offers a sexy ambiance with its beautiful modern French/Mediterranean decor-STUNNING! To the wait staff, thank you so much for making my birthday magical. Our waiter, Mario, was AMAZING! He was very knowledgeable with parings, and recommending the best of the best! But what left us more shocked is that he was excellent at analyzing our taste to anticipate our selections and boy was he on point for each guess lol it made dining exciting. To start, we ordered a shot of Ocho tequila reposado which can only be described as smooth and easy to enjoy! Next, my boyfriend ordered the smoked old fashioned and I ordered the Nina Rose, both of which were phenomenal in taste. We ordered 2 starters: Mini Tartelettes, Crab & Caviar- this appetizer was spectacular! The caviar added a perfect balance of savoriness to the crab and the flaky pastry folded the dish together for an immediate trip down flavor town. From there we ordered the Escargots And Garlic Butter and that in itself was scrumptious! The garlic butter gave the escargot big personality and we probably could have ended the night there but we kept going lol For entrees we ordered: Lobster à l'Américaine- a moment of silence as we acknowledge the beauty behind this dish. Not only was it savory but I appreciated how well each ingredient supported each other, with no one flavor overpowering the next. There was a generous serving of lobster added and the dish was large enough to take leftovers. I absolutely loved this pasta! My boyfriend ordered the Loup de Mer au Fenouil and he loved how flaky and delightful the fish was from start to finish. He also raved about how perfectly seasoned it was and that he thoroughly enjoyed the meal. He did order a side of spinach which was lightly sautéed and buttery. To end the evening, I received a complimentary birthday chocolate presented by Mario and another staff member-how beautiful was that?! The chocolate of course was to die for. We also decided to order their Piémontaise Hazelnut Souflé and honey, let's just say that hazelnut never shined so bright. Supported by a delightful Tahitian vanilla créme anglaise, this dessert was delectable and comforting. We're already planning to support their brunch soon and return for dinner. This place was worth it!!!!! 10/10

Wow this place is so good! Even the complimentary bread they give is great. I like how you also get vinegar and pepper flakes to go along with the olive oil. I really enjoyed the steak tartare and how it came with crispy potatoes on top making it unique. The star of the show was the paella! I love how there were so many different meats and the rice was my favorite. I do wish that it came with a little more rice. For dessert, we got the recommendation which was the Venetian Surprise. The crunchy outside paired really well with the raspberry sorbet inside. Our server was very kind and attentive. There is plenty of seating inside and the bathrooms are nice!

Great spot! They have a huge variety of delicious wines and French food. Came in for dinner and got some appetizers and small plates. Highlights were the escargot and the fried bread appetizer, along with the steak tartare. I hear it's really a good brunch spot so would love to check it out. The service was very accommodating and they paid a lot of attention to our table, even when they were busy. The bartenders are also very knowledgeable and were helpful picking drinks and making us something special.

From the moment we walked in, the service was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was absolutely exceptional! Every dish was bursting with rich, authentic flavor and made with incredible attention to detail. The presentation was just as impressive as the taste, beautifully plated and thoughtfully crafted, making the entire experience feel elevated and special. The staff ensured our experience was seamless from start to finish. Barbouzard is a true gem that delivers excellence in flavor, aesthetics, and hospitality. Highly recommend for any event or occasion! Can't wait to go back!

Barbouzard offers a delightful fusion of French and Mediterranean cuisine. Upon entering, the bright and spacious decor immediately draws you in, creating a comfortable atmosphere perfect for relaxation. The restaurant features two private rooms ideal for special occasions, along with a large bar that enhances the vibrant ambiance. The attentive and friendly service makes you feel right at home from the very beginning. We kicked off our festivities with a smooth shot of Ocho Reposado Tequila, perfectly setting a celebratory tone. The cocktail menu dazzled, showcasing selections like the classic Old Fashioned and the refreshing Nina Rosé, both of which were absolutely delicious. The impeccable service ensured a seamless experience from start to finish. Must-Try Dishes: -Escargot -Lobster à la AmericanoDecadent -Loop de Mer A seafood lover's dream. -Piemontaise Hazelnut Soufflé with Tahitian Vanilla Cream We will definitely be back for brunch!

So first off the food is great, and my rating is taking off for the ambiance of the restaurant. I wish I had known this is mostly a nightclub feel not a fine dining experience. Loved everything we had. Scallops were top notch though the sauce I think would do better with different flavors. I think the biggest thing people should know coming here is this is an absolute night club / housewives of fill in the blank city vibe. Not at all what I am looking for. Me and my partner both agreed that while the food was very good we will never be back. BUT if you're looking to party to loud music and people dressed like they are in a reality show with great food .... You have found your new spot.

Bread service! High quality butter and olive oil with piment espelette and salt. But the butter and bread was my favourite!

It's been a while where I can say service is close to impeccable, but it is here. The service in the dining room is a 10, at the bar, a 9.5. I just found the service in the dining room as a bit more personable, but I'm biased since I knew a waiter from a previous restaurant. They do a great job of cleaning between courses and making sure you're topped off, etc. Shout out to Joseph (the assistant manager and sommelier), and Eli and Carlos, the lovely waiters! For Joseph, he created one of the most beautiful, bountiful wine lists ever. He took a wine course (which I'm also taking!), and he used that knowledge to input the wine list on iPads, making it easier for those that don't know wine to find something just for them. He divides it by wine type and country of origin, and even region within a country. So cool! For the food, the only thing I'd say is that they need to cut the salt by 10-15% for the beef items. I noticed that the beef was overall salty, and I had two beef plates: tartare and a hanger steak. The cook and the look was perfect, and I've had both items time and again, so the salt was a tad overpowering for me. The cook (or lack thereof for the tartare) was perfect for the steak. I'm going to try the daube, or the beef stew next. If that's a tad too salty, then I'd have to conclude that the beef dishes in general are a tad too much. Because the foie gras opera was one of the most innovative ways to eat foie gras and the balance between salt, fat, and sweet was impeccable. Perfectly balanced, even the port jelly and the preserved cherry. Everything supported that rich foie gras to perfection! I highly recommend the foie gras opera and the gran marnier soufflé dessert. The bottle of grand cru Klepka Sausse champagne had beautiful notes of ripe fruit like apples and notes honey. Lovely and safe! The raw seafood was fresh and the gougère appetiser was interesting but not my cup of tea. However, if you want something light, those are the ones to go for along with a glass of Chablis.

Came here with my mom on our last night of the trip as a treat. Left satisfied with the food as well as the atmosphere. Nicely lit area with great decorations and DJ that mixed French versions of popular songs. He also took our song request which was a nice surprise. Our server was informative and friendly. It's been a few weeks so her name escapes me but she was great. The lobster pasta does get a bit overly fishy towards the end, but given that it's a seafood dish, I'm not complaining about it. The grilled octopus was one of the better octopus dishes we've tried and the oysters were of considerable size and delectable. Regretfully, I didn't find the sommelier very helpful but rather slightly condescending. She didn't do much to explain the wines but rather repeatedly offered the two red wines we were already looking at. But other than that, we've had a pleasant night and would recommend the restaurant to others looking to make a beautiful addition to their plans.

oh my GOD what an absolute treat. I went to Barbouzard for brunch this past Sunday for my birthday, and wow oh WOW it couldn't have been any better. The ambiance, with its creams and sharp lines, is the perfect balance of elegant and inviting, and the wait staff is extremely kind and helpful. The food is DELICIOUS: I got the steak and fries, which were cooked to perfection, super fresh oysters, and my relatives got the leek omelette (best I've ever tasted) and the tasty escargot. The live singer was amazing, and the brunch party with a live sax player and drummer topped it all off! I cannot wait to be back!

It feels upscale without feeling stuffy, which I loved. The service was just as good as the space. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and made sure we were taken care of the entire night. Now the food... We started with the Fehleq and it was delicious. Then came the Batata Hara, which was technically for my cousin because I do NOT like white potatoes but that harissa and toum had me reaching back over to their side of the table. The Brussels sprouts were another win, but the Za'atar pide was absolutely my favorite. I could have eaten the whole thing by myself and probably should have ordered another one. And because apparently we were not done eating, we moved on to the regular menu and ordered the tuna tartare. So good. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely not your basic tuna tartare. The drinks were great too. Everything felt well balanced, creative, and matched the food perfectly. By the end of the night, I was already looking at the menu trying to figure out what I am ordering when I come back. And yes, I am definitely coming back. The Batata Hara: fried potatoes with garlic were dangerously good. Overpowering with the garlic but in the absolute best way possible. The Karahab fried brussels sprouts and the Tawook chicken breast burger were both delicious and well executed. The only miss for me personally was the ribeye gyro but that's less about Ala and more about me finally confirming that gyros and I are just not meant to be. The food gets a solid 5 stars. The seating situation however deserves a conversation. Yelpers were directed to either the bar or outside with no other options offered. The weather cooperated and it wasn't a bad experience outdoors but when the hostess specifically stated that Yelpers sit at the bar or outside, that landed differently. The restaurant appeared beautiful from what I could see and assuming the inside was as lovely as it looked, that felt like a quiet form of segregation that the restaurant should probably revisit. Guests are guests regardless of how they found you. Our waiter was attentive and never forgot about us which is always appreciated. Overall a great experience with one note worth addressing. I'd return but hopefully at the main table next time.

We always had pita, they were quick to check in on us, and overall the service was great! Food-wise, there were some HUGE standouts. The red pepper walnut dip is a MUST. It's a little sweet, a little tangy, and super flavorful overall. The hummus was also delicious, with a sorta woodsy, smoky depth of flavor. The oyster mushrooms, though, were an absolute standout. SO much umami, really well seasoned, and perfectly cooked -- they genuinely tasted like steak. Amazing, amazing dish. The vegetables were also really well done overall. The fire-roasted asparagus was great, and the sweet potato was perfect. The cauliflower was also amazing, although we ordered so much food that we weren't able to finish everything and had to take some home. If you're choosing vegetables, do the sweet potato and the mushrooms, hands down. The carrot havuc was yummy as well, more mild and yogurt-y, and the pickled veggies were really interesting. I had never had a pickled tomato before! The pomegranate mocktail was also delicious. Gingery, well balanced, and very refreshing. HIGHLY recommend. There were a couple dishes that fell a little short for me. The halloumi comes out VERY hot, so be careful lol, but it was veryyy sesame-forward and ultimately wasn't my favorite. It was good, just not something I'd necessarily reorder. The saffron couscous was also not a huge hit around the table. It wasn't bad, just a little too sweet with the raisins and not 100% there for me. My mom liked it more than I did! The blueberry lemon cocktail was much more interesting.

That said, the dining environment left something to be desired and didn't offer the most inviting setting for an enjoyable sit-down experience.

I used to eat Moby Dick literally 4 to 6 times a week , occasionally seven days straight, so that my expenses were so high I asked my tax accountant if I could deduct anything because of Moby Dick. Today, with the food quality low and the prices at Moby Dick easily 50 60 70% higher than I remember them in 2019, I just don't see the dividend of going there anymore after today. And here in this picture attached is my angry and disappointed final moment as a customer at Moby Dick. I specifically asked for kebab kubide with kabob juicy and tomatoes Well done , with rice , so I can feed it to a toddler. I come home and the whole thing is burnt and dry. The girl apparently heard tomatoes well done, and just labeled The whole dish is going to be well done. OK innocent mistake. But It probably happens 30% of the time these days at Moby Dick no matter which branch I visit, where they make some kind of a mistake about the order. In this case, a store manager could only offer to refund me the cost of the kebab when I asked him to please "fix my problem", which was that I need some kind of a dinner for a toddler delivered to me today , because I can't step out again and purchase takeout that she will eat and I don't have time or energy to cook from scratch. I wanted him to fix the problem please by sending the replacement meal via a delivery service like Uber Eats. And he refused. And he didn't offer to pay for my cost of ordering Uber Eats with the delivery fee and the tip and such. Non-parents might think I'm overreacting, you have a right to feel that way. But if you're the parent of a 2 1/2 year-old who will only eat Moby Dick kebab and rice or beef Bolognese and absolutely nothing else, you understand my situation maybe... I knew that I was spending probably $2700 a year on Moby Dick, multiple by my 17 years in Washington , that's a whopping $46,000; less , actually , considering their food quality went down in 2020 and I don't go there as much now. Let's just call it 35,000? How much money do you have to spend at a kebab takeout kiosk to matter as a customer? Long story short, there are these epiphany moments as a customer where you have the last straw. I've felt it with Amazon, I certainly feel it with my home insurance companies and my healthcare companies, etc. There are these epiphany moments when you realize the Customer relationship is completely over. So, good bye Moby Dick. Thanks for the memories.
