Al Tiramisu was suggested to us our first evening in D.C. There are about fifty total seats, (two, four, and a couple group tables) so a reservation is needed. We had the burrata and a special negroni to start. The burrata was full of flavor, but the negroni... My wife said it was the best she has ever tasted. I had the special mushroom risotto. My wife had the rosemary chicken. I have had many dishes of risotto, but never so tasty. Numerous tastes graced my palate, (fresh mushrooms, cheese, the perfectly prepared rice). My wife loved the chicken. She said the creamy mashed potatoes were the best she has ever had. I am impressed how many times the words best ever came up during this amazing meal.

The service here is top-notch. And the pasta is even better have had some seriously good dinners here and they always take care of you. Great wine selection. The burrata with truffle honey.... Omg.

I booked a table for two via Open Table last weekend during our staycation in Dupont Circle! We had such an amazing dinner. I can't believe I didn't know about this place before. It's so cozy and very romantic. I'm definitely planning to come back soon. They have happy hour. Everyone was so welcoming - from the hostess to our waiter. The food was great! The complimentary bread was delicious. It comes with anchovies - we asked for butter instead. I had the laganelle pasta - so yummy and filling. There's great wine and cocktail options. Now let's talk about the dessert menu! Just wow! I'm not even big into sweets, but the desserts here are worth it. Get the tiramisu!

My boyfriend and I love going out to eat and have pretty high standards. Al Tiramisu is officially our favorite dinner in DC. Everything from the intimate dining room, the food, and the staff were perfect. We will definitely be back!

We arrived for an early dinner after a show at the Kennedy Center, the place had just opened but we were greeted right away. We were taken to our table and helped with water right away. When you walk in it has the style of an old small Italian restaurant in NYC. The wall of pictures of famous people eating there hits you right away and has some cool pictures of movie stars. Kinda fun display. Once seated they took our drink order and I went with an old fashioned, shocker lol. I asked for it to be less sweet and it hit the spot. Just enough bitters to cut the sweetness. Also love the full size cocktail ice cube. We then received a very well explained fresh fish of the day presentation. For an appetizer we ordered burrata which came with local honey and truffle "bits". It was very good, extra moist and the add ons were great. The local honey had some salt and spices mixed in which was a great surprise. My entree was the veal fettuccine, the pasta was house made and fresh. The pasta was great and the souse was even better. The ground veal popped with flavor adding a richness to the dish. The sauce was a red sauce like marinara based with a touch of sweetness. Dessert was on its way and we shared mascarpone cheesecake and the, you guessed it, tiramisu. The tiramisu was very good, the flavors were good but I was missing more of the rum flavor. The texture of the top was slightly off, still good but not the best I've had. The cheesecake was very different and good in its own right. It's much lighter than normal cheesecake and had great flavor. It was a little dry so adding a side spice could have helped this dish. Overall this restaurant was awesome, great food, great service, and great ambiance! Cheers!!

We stopped in here to get dessert, this is a nice little local Italian spot. You feel like you are dining in somebody's kitchen as it feels very homey. The service was great we got seated right away. They have a nice little patio outside with a couple of tables. We got an order of their cheesecake it was very delicious and filling. I would definitely come back here this makes for a nice date spot or a night out with friends or family.

I almost always have a great time here. It looks like a little hole in the wall but it's home to some of the best Italian pasta in DC. They have daily specials and I've never had a bad dish here. The reason I have deducted a star is because the last two times I visited, I felt as though the waiter wasn't being the most friendly and because last time, my date ordered the veal the waiter recommended but received the lobster linguine instead. We didn't want to cause a fuss since the restaurant had been so kind to fit us in last minute, but it was a different level of service than what I had previously encountered. Am more than willing to come back and give it another try! Hopefully it was just because they were busy and not indicative of a more negative trend. Now onto the food - one of my photos features a ravioli stuffed with mozzarella and topped with shaved truffles. I hope they make this a menu item because it was creamy, and absolutely delicious. We ended up eating all the sauce too but soaking it up with our bread. The beef carpaccio is fresh and the lemon and salad add a brightness to the savory beef. All in all, the food never disappoints.

Mediocre. We got the lobster pasta, which was expensive (as to be expected), but did not have much lobster taste. Carpaccio was fine. Service and ambiance are nice -- we did street-side dining -- but cannot recommend due to food.

The parking was a bit difficult because the only parking I believe that was available was on the street. Luckily we did find a space we could pull up to so I could run into the store for about 5 minutes to pick up what I was looking for and grab another goodie. The tequila was right at the checkout counter so check out was a breeze. This place definitely saved the day and I was able to try the tequila that I had been longing to taste for a few months or so. And it was just OK BTW. But I love the bottle. Definitely check them out. They may have some spirits that you don't even know about...hidden gems indeed. But if I'm in the area I would definitely check this store out over and over. Have fun and enjoy life :)

Once inside it really hits you just how extensive the selection is. They really invested heavily into the inventory on the shelves here. And just when you think you've seen it all, there's a whole other room downstairs filled with an extensive wine selection. You can pick up large format bottles of high-end wine in wooden boxes or check out the temperature controlled wine cellar. You can also pick up a wedge of cheese and something out of the cigar humidor. They do have a decent craft beer selection, just not as extensive, unless of course you check out the goose Island bourbon barrel beers of which they have many vintages of. As you can see in the photos/video below, this is definitely a destination spot.

Everything was delicious from beginning to end but our favorites were the eggplant fritters, the antipasti, the wagyu (not A5 but still melt in your mouth and delicious), and the desserts. The butterscotch custard is one of my favorite desserts of all time now, and the chocolate cake with raspberry chip ice cream was incredible. As others have said, the 5 course menu changes often. 1st is antipasti- we got five dishes that we both shared but we had our own burrata (yum). A person chooses one item from the first, second courses and dessert menu. And before dessert, every person gets their own cheese platter. What I ate didn't excite me enough to want to come back- the main reason for my 3 stars rating. I'm sorry to say that the cheese and the bread in the beginning were my favorites. They served the bread first, but without any plates, so we were confused, but they said we were to eat the bread with the antipasti which didn't arrive until maybe 5 minutes later with bread plates, finally. Sometimes you just want to eat the bread right away! They charge you $75 per person when making the reservation, and it doesn't go toward the check at the end, but they refunded the reservation charges the next day. The pros are: 1. Attentive service- always refilling your water glasses, describing the plates, and clearing away empty plates. 2. The restaurant atmosphere felt intimate- there aren't too many tables and I love the bread baskets on the long table in the middle in the restaurant. It feels like a quiet place for a celebration or nice date. Didn't see any kids. 3. There's a lot to eat! We went away feeling very stuffed.

We unfortunately had a very off-putting encounter with staff. This place seems to have an identity issue. It's a mix of a wine shop, ice cream parlor and restaurant but not a bar. We walked in to a confusing layout and were told just scan the qr code and order at the counter. After skimming the wine menu we picked out a bottle to share only to find out that we could only drink if we were dining. Which didn't make sense as there were people inside drinking solely wine at the counter. The staff member was very abrasive giving us an ultimatum of "you either buy a bottle to go or eat in if you want to drink". We offered to split a plate or two but she said that we would each have to have a full plate. We eventually left without feeling uneasy about our exchange. I totally understand this is a small business who likely needs to prioritize the food portion given the small space or it may be a licensing thing. I can't comment on the food or wine but service is a huge aspect of my experience and unfortunately wont be back. It may help in the future to warmly explain to your guests the set up when you have a multi-use space.
