Walked over after dinner at shoto and mostly floated into Nonna like a cartoon character lead by their nose. We sat at the outside bar and were helped right away. We ordered: Nonna Ciao - 10/10 - my first time with caffeine in my liquor and that was interesting in a good way. I don't stray too far from a lemon drop so this was a nice change Drunken love pizza - 10/10 - perfectly crispy, cheesy and flavorful. The only complaint I had was that they didn't have any ranch. Service was great and we didn't wait long for our food or drinks. Definitely somewhere I'd visit again.

Great place with service and food. We got a few drinks and food. Started with an old fashion then a pizza and pasta. Pizza was very good crust was nice and crunchy with good balance on the pizza from savory flavors. We started with the caesar salad and garlic bread. Both had great flavor. The salad had great freshness and the right amount of dressing. The pasta was their take on a Sunday gravy with rich flavors from the short rib and sausage.

Dropped in for happy hour with a coworker and managed to snag two seats at the bar before the crowds showed up (and boy did they!) The bartenders were very friendly and did their best to provide speedy service despite the crowd. The outdoor bar area is spacious and comfortable. In addition to the bar seats there were quite a few tables available which accommodated a large party while we were there. While we were there mostly for HH drinks, we did try the mozzarella sticks, which were tasty, and the other HH menu items we saw others order looked good. Will visit again next time I'm in the city.

I have been dying to try Grazie Nonna for months, so I was excited to finally make it in! The staff were friendly and helpful. I also loved the attention to detail with the decor. My table ordered the Il Bruco pizza (my side without the mushrooms) and the vodka pasta. The pizza was delicious! The onions added the perfect flavor and the crust was perfect! I love a charred but fluffy pizza crust. The vodka pasta, however, was definitely undercooked at first. The manager came out and explained that it is homemade pasta so the texture is different, which is true, but I've had plenty of homemade pasta and this was not that. We cut into the pasta and there was still white inside. I do appreciate the manager for agreeing to send us out a fresh batch. The vodka sauce was okay, but I will definitely be back for the pizza!

PHENOMENAL!!! The best Italian food I've had in years!! Everything was bursting with flavor and tastes homemade. Service was great. Drinks were delicious. The appetizer was mind blowing and the bread was hot and fresh. A must see when visiting DC!

Good atmosphere, Worst service! Huge place with some service. Waiting at the seat without service over 20 mins. Food might be ok but if you can not offer service should tell customer it will be long wait for small party.

I have been here twice and really enjoyed my food both times. The most recent time I was here for brunch with a larger group and everyone seemed to enjoy their food save for my dad who was oddly confused by Eggs in Purgatory but still decided to order them anyway. My salad was fresh, delicious and substantive. The pasta was also quite fresh. A few notes- the bathrooms were not in great shape (no soap in one, leaking toilet that flushed for a really long time) and service was nice but uneven. Felt a bit rushed as they were going to close for dinner relatively soon but then things we asked for or the bill were slow in coming despite it being an off time and therefore not particularly busy.

This restaurant is perfect for a lovely night out. The dining room side has a smaller space with lovely lighting, and a DJ was playing during our visit here that really gave you that intimate dinner experience. The Drunken Love Pizza seems to be a fan favorite and it did not disappoint, and I absolutely adored the Caesar Salad here as they crumble the croutons and top it off with green onions. Perfect place for date night or catching up with friends and I can't wait to come back.

Stopped by this location for lunch and had a really great experience! The outdoor seating area is perfect and secluded from the street. This place is known for their pizza and I must recommend the drunken love pizza. Their menu is not too large so it's easy to pick. Staff are always accommodating and friendly. Highly recommend if you're visiting DC. Apologies for the tiramisu, couldn't wait to take a picture and then eat! But it was really good!

Excellent restaurant, although slightly pricey. Im not a fan of pizza, but the dough and crust is exceptional in dc. The toppings for il bruco were refreshing. Caesar was wholesome. Out of the grazie restaurant series, this place and grazie kitchen are my favorites.

We sat at the bar since the restaurant was packed with people out the door on a weekday. Bar service was great and the food was so good. I recommend trying a pizza. One pizza and a pasta dish is more than enough for two.

I came into the DC area two weeks ago and will be here for the next 11 months. This restaurant…read morewas recommended to me by a colleague so I decided to make the walk from where I am currently staying. Let me start by saying that the atmosphere in this restaurant is one that is so welcoming the minute you arrive. I approached the hostess stand to inquire if there was bar seating available to which the polite hostesses provided a gentle hand gesture and oral direction to the bar. While walking to the bar area, I encountered what I presume to have been a server who was likely standing watch from a distance over his service area, who apologized as our paths met. (There was no reason to apologize, very polite nonetheless) I found a seat at the bar and was greeted by Paul. Paul was an exceptionally pleasant and answered all my immediate questions while preparing my initial cocktail during happy hour. We discussed the menu and he provided great insight which helped finalize my decision for the evening . In the meantime, bar manager Laura stopped by to ensure that I was taken care of to which I informed her that Paul and I spoke and he is making a beverage for me. For the food...the Caesar Salad is #1. I am a food snob and this salad HITS!! While enjoying my salad I inquired about their cast bourbon selection. The staff was very knowledgeable and provided a price list to coincide with their higher end selections. My 40 layer lasagna arrived some time in the midst of the conversation where Paul extended a courtesy sampling of a wine that he recommended that pairs nicely with my meal. It was perfect. I closed out my meal with an espresso type martini, at which time Paul and Laura further extended and offered me a sampling of one of the bourbons I was looking at. I cannot say enough about this establishment. I can't wait to go back and have already recommended via phone conversations to three people and I just left. The evening and encounter was more than just pleasantries with a customer, rather I felt as if I was the only one. If the owner or manager is reading this, Paul and Laura are 10+ and I will be back. Thank you so much for the best meal I have had in DC over the last 2 weeks. Can't wait to do it again!!!

The place is very moodily charming because you're on a basement level with no natural light, so everything is dark and the vibe is Italian grandma kitsch. The whole thing manages to work. They were busy, and our waitress, who was highly professional (honestly she seemed like she could be a government employee) was being pulled to some VIP table in their back room (which we were seated adjacent to), so she was not as available as we would have liked. We got a couple cocktails and started with the Caesar salad and the meatballs. For a place that boasts about its portion sizes, there were only two meatballs, and they were fine. The free bread wasn't impressive, especially considering the extraordinary bread situation that we had at The Dip the previous evening. The salad was undersalted and kinda bland. So, overall, not the most promising beginning. We all shared the one main dish of Linguini Cardinale after our waitress sold us on it. It's sort of like a vodka sauce that mated with lobster, and it was delicious, but it was quite rich and heavy. We did like it though. Dessert was where we went all out with the strawberry cheesecake, the pistachio strawberry mousse cake, and the dark chocolate mousse cake. The one that had pistachio was terrible--everything tasted artificial and the texture wasn't right. The chocolate one was OK. Luckily the cheesecake was where it was at. It's not Junior's-level or anything, but compared to the other two, it stood out. We're glad we came here to have tried it once and we had a good time as a family, so it'll be a fond memory. We don't feel a pressing need to return, but we would recommend it for folks to try once.

We we sat down the waitress was very friendly and welcoming. She knew alot about the menu items and such. As soon as she handed me the wine menu and saw Chianti as one of the wines, I didnt hesitate to get a bottle for the table (I love Chianti with a story behind it). We ordered the Creamy Burrata, with Grilled Bread and four cheese sauce and the calamari for the appitizers. All of the appetizers were amazing and Im a sucker for grilled crushy bread. For the main course i ordered the Trout Piccata. The fish was cooked to perfection and the veggies were well seasoned. My friends ordered the chicken piccata, Caruso Alfredo and baked Cavatelli. Everything was good. Next up we ordered the butterfinger sundae, Nutella cannoli and tiramisu. The sundae base is chocolate ice cream. If you are fan of chocolate ice cream you will love the sundae. As well, I wish I could remember the gentlemen's name, but he took care of us with great recommendations and patience while we were overly conversational! Excellent cocktails and a small-ish, but high quality wine list made the drinking aspect in this really ambient corner restaurant perfect for birthday vibes. Cannot say enough about the perfectly cooked pastas. but the veal Francaise was the real star! Chicken parm was very good but a little overhyped, though the red sauce on everything was AMAZING. Made the side pastas as good as the entrees. Our tomato salad dressing was so good that even the cucumbers (which I do not like) shines. The garlic bread was kicked up with the cheese sauce and the calamari shone bright with the addition of the aioli. Everything was top-notch. Good value for the amount of food we ordered and the desserts were fantastic - including the creme brulee on the house for her birthday. First class dining experience. Grazie mile!

Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! Not saying that dining companions are distracting, but I felt like I could fully experience the flavor of both the Taglioni Neri and Gnocchi, both half portions at $10 each, better on my own. When the dishes came, I saw that the sauces were both red and feared they would taste too similar. After one fork full of each, they are quite clearly distinct. The standout in the Neri were the shellfish for me. Even though they were small bits, the pieces tasted fresh. In the Gnocchi, the saltiness of the prosciutto, though not overwhelming, paired well with the basil sauce. I finished a little more than half of each plate before boxing it up for a small lunch the next day. The service was great and the tall ceiling and windowed dining room provided a nice atmosphere.
