A cheese pizza with toppings of mushrooms, red and yellow peppers, and diced tomatoes on a dark wooden table.

This place had good reviews and was pretty conveniently located in Georgetown. The pizza we had wasn't too bad. I would rate a 7/10. My friend had the Penne pasta and honest it tasted like something I could make at home with ragu sauce, so we were a little disappointed. I wouldn't recommend it here unless you want pizza.

I went to Flavios with my coworkers and it was honestly below mid. We were a group of six and they knew ahead of time we were coming. We were sat as soon as we came in but a server didn't come for like 10-15 minutes. Finally one came with waters and took the drink order, then it took that much longer to come back to take the food. The food I thought was okay. I'm GLUTEN FREE. I only got the Caprese salad. Thought that was okay and then my co workers got the pastas that are pictured. They said it was good. We waited an extremely long time after that to get the checks. I don't think I would be going again.

Wow, Georgetown's Flavio knocked my socks off! It was such a fun and enjoyable experience dining and imbibing at the bar because we were so well taken care of by Red at the bar. The old fashioned that I had was so expertly made and never did we feel like we were ignored the entire time we were there. The food on this Italian restaurant's menu is not to be underestimated...their portions of the veal chop was just massive and it was cooked perfectly and so tender. I will definitely be back again to this lively and energetic restaurant!

I came to Flavio's with a bunch of friends and family. The service was very friendly, and the food was pretty good. The Ceasar salad was good too! I ordered the mushroom ravioli and you can tell that it was handmade. It was earthy and sauce was creamy and delicious! My brother ordered the breaded veal on pasta and it was ok. As for the ambience, I thought it was too dark and as for the price prices, I think they were a bit overpriced, but pretty standard for the area honestly . We mentioned to the server that it was my mother's birthday, and they brought out a cheesecake with a candle on it which was sweet I'm not sure if I would've come back just because it seems like a very tourist trap type of restaurant and I've honestly had better pasta.

Margarita pizza during happy hour was a good deal! The open air dining meant flies coming in and out which I didn't love. I also waited outside for a while before just walking in and asking for a seat.

I came to Flavio for a Friendsmas dinner my cousin planned, and overall, the experience was okay but not memorable. For the table, we started with the calamari, which was seasoned well and cooked nicely. They also brought out bread, which was fine, but the olive oil served with it had a strange taste that wasn't very appealing. For my entrée, I ordered the lasagna. I appreciated how cheesy it was, but the sauce was a little too salty, and the noodles were mushy, which threw it off for me. My sister got the chicken Alfredo, and while she liked the sauce, she mentioned the chicken was dry. On the positive side, our server was attentive and handled our requests well, especially when it came to splitting the check. The restaurant is in a great location, and the atmosphere is nice, but the food didn't impress me enough to come back.

I'm in love with the meatball.... I dream of this... Amazing! This was the star of the show. We also got bruschetta, and shared desserts! I myself got the ricotta gnocchi and enjoyed every bite. My only complaint is that we came in at sunset so the lights inside weren't on yet, so it was darrrkkkk! I couldn't see very well... but I'm sure this was situational.

Oh my... was this place memorable. When we arrived we were seated right away. Service was spotty. At the beginning our waitress kept rushing us to order, once we placed our order she disappeared. The food is delicious. We enjoyed everything that we ordered. Be warned that the add-ons get pricey quickly. Adding chicken $8, adding broccoli $8. Now for the memorable part of the evening. There were a couple of girls at the table next to us. You could tell they were having a very bad experience both with the food and the service. The way the restaurant handled the situation was what lost them stars for me. Their waiter argued back, the manager just came and was passive aggressive, then once they had paid and left their waiter went to an area of the restaurant to be visibly upset about the situation.

My wife and I visited Flavio restaurant in Georgetown. I am so glad that we did. They have great outside seating which allowed us to enjoy the evening. Our server Leila was outstanding. She made great recommendations and her service and attention to us was excellent. We ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with chicken and Mekki's pizza. Everything was delicious. We look forward to dining here again when in Georgetown and we highly recommend Flavio and ask for Leila.

The food was pretty good. Service not bad. I had the fruitti di mare and caprese. The 1 star is for their "recovery fee". Didnt make a stink about it. I asked the server who couldnt explain so she asked the manager. The fee is to help their recovery from covid. Im not cool with that.

An awesome lunch after a day of touring DC... Flavio was recommended by our tour guide (shout out to Alan at Concierge Tours), and he even called ahead to make sure we were taken care of. This place is off the beaten path in Georgetown, but it's honestly a must try. The food was all amazing and the owner, Moose, took amazing care of us. The restaurant has a cool casual vibe. We started with the calamari and bruschetta (amazing - and I don't love raw tomatoes), both were fantastic. Entrees were veal piccata, chicken fettuccini Alfredo and the lobster diavolo... all were awesome. Pastas were all cooked perfectly, and all the seasoning were perfect. Easily one of the best alfredo's any of us have ever had. At the end we had the limoncello cake and tiramisu, both were stand out fantastic!! Highly recommend this place and definitely will be back on our next trip to DC!

All the food was drowned in butter, cold, and quite flavorless. The mushrooms in my ravioli were so cold, they must have been in the freezer. The "bread" and oil at the beginning was almost inedible. Service was lacking as well.

Can I bring my dog with me to dine outside here? Are they pet friendly?

Yes, for the outside area you can. If I'm not mistaken they allow Teddy Bears to dine outside too. :) you'll smile when you get there. And understand my comment.

    How loud is the restaurant?

It's got a lot of open space and can get medium loudness. If you're looking for quiet ask them if it's possible to seat you upstairs (not sure if that's a private area) if not then maybe try a weekday when it's not too busy. Everyone has a… Read more

Is the pasta homemade or imported?

I believe it is imported. It is fantastic!

Is there a dress code for Flavio? Or would a button down & nice jeans be okay?

Yes. That's actually perfect, in my opinion.

Is there a bathroom that doesn't require stairs? My mother has a walker and can't make it down stairs.

    No, I’m sorry!!!

    Do you offer vegan options?

I am a vegetarian (not vegan) and there are several options for me. I believe you should be ok.

The service was genuinely five-star. Attentive without being intrusive, thoughtful, and incredibly knowledgeable. The sommelier's guidance made the experience even better; every recommendation paired perfectly with our meal. And the food? Superb. Outstanding. We ended up trying almost everything because we simply couldn't decide -- and not a single dish disappointed. Each plate felt intentional, refined, and deeply flavorful. KenScale: 8.0/10 Visit: March 2026…read more Another thing besides food that my wife Jun and I are passionate about is wine. We first got to know each other through shared love for a glass of wines (especially at a rooftop or outdoor wine bar on a gorgeous day in Manhattan), and we even had our wedding in Napa Valley. Ever since we moved to the DC metro area, we continued to enjoy trying new wines, but mostly in our home instead of outside, partly because Bethesda (where we live) doesn't really have a killer wine bar. When the team behind Lutèce and Pascual opened a new wine bar in Adams Morgan last year, I wanted to see if Maison Bar À Vins would solve that problem of finding a casual wine bar where we can try a few wines along with delicious food. I'm happy to report that our recent visit last month to Maison Bar À Vins was quite satisfying. For the Maison project, Matt Conroy (the executive chef of Lutèce and Pascual) put chef de cuisine Jason Chaveson (formerly at Reverie; still can't get over the fact it closed so abruptly) in charge of the kitchen, which is located downstairs away from the dining room. The relatively concise menu at Maison features mostly French dishes that are smartly prepared and also great for sharing. We both quite enjoyed the dish called tarama (a traditional Greek dip made from salted fish roe) inside seaweed choux buns. Same for the crispy tête de Cochon with rich, creamy Mornay sauce that was not as heavy as I would've expected. Getting one or two vegetables at Maison is also a wise choice. We liked the carrots with 'nduja and Bleu d'Ambert cheese, but it was the dramatically plated beet tart (I certainly didn't expect an entire chunk of beet on top of the tart) that really stole the show with terrific texture and freshness. For larger dishes, the brioche stuffed chicken seems to have quickly become a signature dish at the restaurant. The texture of the chicken breast was on point and the choice of green-colored brioche worked quite well. If you still have room for dessert, my vote is to go with the delightful profiteroles with banana and rhum that would not be out of place at a top bistro in Paris. We also tried the Basque cheesecake and Vin Jaune and wildflower-honey; based on the way Jun savored the soft cheesecake, I immediately knew it was a success. Getting a reservation at Maison Bar À Vins will definitely require advance planning, especially given the relatively small size of the dining room behind the bar area (which seems more amenable to walk-ins). I also was impressed with the breadth of the wine list covering different geographic regions in France and beyond, with many of the bottles at fairly reasonable price points and leaning on natural style. The darkly lit dining room where we dined was a little cramped but otherwise worked fine with as a nice dating spot or for gathering with friends and family. The service was overall friendly and seamless as well. We had a lot to like about Maison Bar À Vins with familiar yet well-executed food and an enticing wine list; I was told that the food and wine menu changes fairly constantly. I look forward to visiting again with Jun next time we see some significant changes to the menu. It is certainly a wine bar in DC worth visiting for serious food and wine experience.

No reservation and sat comfortably at the bar. Physical Examination Food - This place was absolutely delicious. We started with Arancini and Prosciutto e Polenta. The arancini was fried perfectly - crispy outside, warm risotto inside, and sitting in this savory-sweet tomato sauce that I could've honestly just eaten with a spoon (and basically did using the focaccia they give with your meal - which itself was delicious too). The arancini also has ground beef in the center, which adds to the flavor and depth of what is usually just fried risotto. The polenta fries with paprika aioli were fantastic too. My only complaint is that I wish there were more of the fries because there were only 3 to go along with the large plate of sliced prosciutto. The prosciutto itself was fine. Just standard quality prosciutto. For mains, we went family-style and shared three entrees: the pork ossobuco from the secondi menu, the tagliarini with shredded duck, and the cavatelli with rabbit and fava beans. The ossobuco was cooked well, though I wish the braise flavor went deeper into the pork. The truffle mushroom risotto underneath was incredible. Rich, creamy, and the fresh lemon and parsley gremolata on top cut through all that richness perfectly. The tagliarini was delicious, but my wife and I agreed that the duck flavor was a little lost in the rich marinara sauce. It didn't feel like I was eating duck, to be honest. You could've told me that was shredded short rib, and I might've believed you. The cavatelli was probably my favorite dish - those shell-shaped pasta pieces with rabbit and fava beans in a white wine sauce that had this unique flavor I haven't tasted anywhere else. There's a mild gaminess from the rabbit, but it was very subtle. Each time I had a fava bean, it was a fun change of pace in texture and taste as I was spooning this plate down my throat. It was so so good. Portions were generous too, which made the prices feel totally worth it. We left full and satisfied. My wife had a lambrusco spritz that was deliciously refreshing, and we shared some good wine throughout the meal. No complaints. Service - The bartender was really kind and attentive. Even though we weren't at a table, we didn't feel like we were getting second-tier service or anything. They checked on us regularly, made good recommendations, and kept everything moving smoothly. I also love a service that offers more table bread without needing to be asked. And their table bread was this fragrant focaccia, so I could've eaten all of whatever they brought. Ambiance - haven't been to a ton of Italian restaurants in DC, but I loved the vibe here. Intimate, cozy, dim lighting. The wine selection was great too - enough variety to be interesting without being one of those overwhelming 50-page wine lists. I think this would be a perfect date night spot. Assessment A high-quality Italian restaurant with creative takes on traditional dishes, generous portions, and an intimate atmosphere. A strong contender for the Adams Morgan dining scene, where restaurants are lined up right next to each other, and making a choice can be a bit difficult. Plan - Add to recommended restaurant list for DC visitors - Consider for future date nights or a solo wine and appetizer moment - Return to try more pasta dishes or enjoy a happy hour

The canelones were slightly disappointing as most of the ingredients seem to be in the sauce and they're only stuffed with Swiss chard leaving them a little one note.
