    Steak, spicy ragu, rigatoni vodka
    Patricia S.

Very elegant interior and great for a date night (very dimly lit). We started off with the sourdough bread appetizer (a whopping $15 for some bread and butter). I will say it was some of the best butter I've had, but it really should be free. For mains, the steak was the star. 9/10! Super flavorful and perfectly cooked. One of the best steaks I've had! Wish it came with potatoes on the side vs a veggie tho. The pastas were the real let down. The spicy ragu had no spice and lacked flavor. The rigatoni vodka needed salt and just overall was mid. Can make better vodka sauce at home Would recommend the steak overall!

I had really high hopes for Reveler's Hour since it's Tailed Up Goat's sister restaurant that stayed in business despite the former's closure late last year. My co-workers and I got dinner here since we were craving pasta this past Monday. We even ordered all three pastas available on the menu! Our server was good about checking in on us, and we took our time to eat and catch up. COD CROQUETTES - 19 Think white fish mixed with cream cheese and hints of red pepper spice that's been deep-fried, and there's three of them. While these were delicious to start with, I couldn't believe that each croquette was more than $6 per pop. GRILLED MUSHROOM PANZANELLA - 19 This is an Italian bread salad mixed with a bunch of mushrooms, shallots, and bacon. This was a bit acidic, but in a kind of weird way. The bread (similar to croutons) was quite oily, and there were more shallots than there were mushrooms, which were also very oily and shriveled up. Personally, our table did not really enjoy this appetizer. RIGATONI ALLA VODKA - 32 This was the simplest and lightest of the pastas and definitely the most gentle in flavor. The rigatoni was the perfect al dente, and the vodka sauce was lightly creamy and sweet. However, there wasn't much to write home about. If I went to a farmer's market and bought a vodka sauce from a vendor, I could recreate something similar at home. SWEET POTATO & MASCARPONE RAVIOLI - 34 There was so much kale pesto that it completely covered the ravioli... And there were only 6 half-sized pieces of ravioli. I personally loved the filling of the ravioli -- "funky" as my friend had describe. The nutty pesto sauce paired perfectly with it. Taste wise, this was the most unique and my favorite. However, for how much it costed, we expected a bit more than 6 measly raviolis. The plating contained mostly sauce, some pistachios, and a bunch of garnish that we were mainly for decor. SPAGHETTI ALLA CHITARRA - 36 Lots of reviews raved about this one, and I was excited for the rich and hearty beef ragu. While it was tasty, it was incredibly greasy, to the point where I no longer enjoyed what I was eating. One of my friends enjoyed it a lot though, but unfortunately not for me. GARLIC KNOT - 5 Apparently, these are a must, so we all got one. Each garlic knot is $5, and the size of a small cinnamon roll. While it was pretty garlicky with a nice chewy texture, the exterior was soaked in oil, which I didn't enjoy. Similar to the spaghetti, it made my entire mouth feel greasy. OLIVE OIL CAKE - 14 One of the best olive oil cakes I've eaten. It was smooth and soft upon chewing, balanced by the sweet amaro cherries with a bit of light fattiness of the whipped cream. ALMOND FINANCIER - 14 The almond financier was incredibly crunchy and nutty, pairing well with the velvety, creamy sauce that reminded me of melted French vanilla bean ice cream. It was so tasty and not too sweet. Overall, I was pretty disappointed. The food was pretty mediocre (minus the desserts), and it was really expensive for what it was. Charging $30+ for a modest serving of pasta and sauce that didn't even have meat or anything else is outrageous -- looking right at you, rigatoni alla vodka. Most things were just too greasy for my taste buds, which didn't sit sell with my stomach afterwards.

I enjoyed a great 3 course dinner here during DC restaurant week and was satisfied with my meal. Everything was cooked and prepared perfectly. My cocktail was expertly crafted and I even received a free glass of wine which shows how important exceptional service is to the staff. There doesn't seem to be a bad seat in the restaurant as the whole space, even the bar, was beautiful and intimate. I would just keep in mind that this is a very expensive restaurant. While I dont think the quantity and type of food served should be priced so high I can at least appreciate that the food is quality.

Let me start off by saying the food was incredible. This is my first time having flavorful Italian food outside of Italy and the portion sizes were more than enough! The group participated in the three courses special, so we all left full. The restaurant has dim lighting which adds to the intimate ambiance and the music selection was 90s and early 2000s based which we loved. The drinks were good as well, and they had a wide variety of non alcoholic selections. We had an issue of being charged twice for several menu items ordered, but the manager and waitress fixed it swiftly once we noted it. Since a 20% service fee is automatically included on every bill, I would recommend that the service time be faster. There were times where we ordered drinks and they would come out 10 to 15 minutes later. And our food took a while to come out after ordering: 20 minutes for the starter and about 45 minutes for the main entree. I would go back for sure simply for the tasty food.

The restaurant space is absolutely beautiful - an air of fine dining with a welcoming ambiance that makes you want to stay for hours. The service was fast, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu - I wouldn't have changed a thing! The food was good overall, but not sure it was good enough to demand the price point. If you are particular about your steak being a medium rare, you may want to order a medium. Personally, I loved the texture of the medium rare, but it was a little red for the rest of our table. Fan favorite for our table was the octopus - it's to absolutely die for!

Grilled Sourdough - skip unless you like a mouthful of ricotta

Talk about delicious food! Came here to friends after an event at the line hotel and it was the exact fuel we needed. First off, the cocktails here were terrible, especially the espresso martini. My friend and I ordered drinks and return them for wine, which you obviously can't go wrong with that. For the food: grilled sourdough - skip it. The ratio was off. Too much ricotta, not enough hot honey, the nectarines didn't do much. I just felt like I was eating a spoonful of ricotta Romaine alla romana - tasty! Great appetizer, it's a play on a Caesar salad, I could've eaten the whole bowl myself it was great. Sicilian fried orange chicken - I ordered this and thought it would come out and little chicken bites, no you get practically the whole chicken. You definitely get your moneys worth. The skin is crispy and seasoned well, you get both light and dark meat. I was so full I couldn't even finish it. It does come with a fennel salad, which does balance out the flavor of the chicken. I do wish it came with another side or bread, but it was still good nonetheless. Rigatoni alla vodka - one of my friends got this and it looks basic, but it was so tasty. Loved the flavor, out of the two pasta dishes I preferred this one. I usually don't care for vodka pasta, but I would've eaten a bowl of this. Not too much fluff or frill just a tasty meal. Bucatini - my other friend got this dish and again no complaints. This is an Italian restaurant they make their pasta well (as they rightfully should), so I enjoyed trying this dish as well. The staff was nice, very hospitable, recommended great wines to go with the dishes. I enjoyed my time here. Lowly lit, great ambience. I like when there's music playing, but it's not too loud so you're able to have a conversation in your normal voice without having a shout over the table. Great for dinner with a group of friends or date night or if you wine grab some glasses of wine with friends. Would recommend and I would return.

Revelers Hour is my go to celebration spot and home to my favorite bites in the DMV. Their garlic knots I dream about often, and their pastas are the best I've had in the United States. Always seasonally appropriate and evolving, the menu is a delight. Tonight we enjoyed an incredible tomato panzanella that was so refreshing, the delicious and hearty gnocchi, a portion of the crispiest and juiciest chicken that was enough to feed at least two people and the STAR of the night was the corn pasta dish - little clouds of heaven with a perfectly nutty sauce and sprinkle. I'm fighting the urge to get back immediately for seconds. As an added bonus- for being a wine lovers paradise their NA menu is impressive. I used to love a Pimm's Cup on summer days and they have a mocktail play on this classic drink that was an excellent nod to the OG version. Hats off to Revelers hour as always and an aside to say that every single person working at this restaurant has amazing style. The vibes are immaculate and not in the cheesy instagrammable way. Don't miss a stop to the bathroom (I know- what?!) just trust me. The design will keep you busy while you wash your hands for at least 30 seconds :)

Lovely restaurant, amazing food, great, attentive servers, extensive wine list, fantastic music. We had the three course dinner which was the ideal option. I loved the rigatoni, it was big, delicious, full of flavor and had plenty of bite. The gnocchi had lots of pork flavor and the fried chicken was very generous and well done. The sour dough was great, the polenta balls were really good, the tomato salad and the shaved fennel were refreshing and full of flavor. The music list ran through so many different genres, yet was a perfect accompaniment to the restaurant and the meal. The music was just another layer added on top of the service, food, drinks, and ambiance. Can't wait to return.

When I walked in, I thought this will be my favorite spot. It's perfect for people like me. But it was a bit disappointing. It's beautiful ambience. Don't get me wrong. I loved it. Server that I had, she was amazing. I didn't get to ask her name but I enjoyed everything she recommended. From appetizer to wine. I went there group of 4, but most of my group didn't enjoyed their food. Serving time between the foods is too long and honestly speaking, food just looked fancy not flavorful. It's either too salty or too oily

I recently had dinner with a friend here. I liked the romantic ambiance inside featuring dim lighting which created the perfect setting for a date or catching up with friends. The bar is charming, and the cocktails are thoughtfully crafted and delicious. The service was standard. I like the concept of a changing menu, and I'm interested to return and explore other dishes in the future. Must-Try (5/5): Garlic Knots - These are the best garlic knots I've ever had. Perfectly garlicky and buttery, they had a crispy exterior with a moist, warm, and fresh interior. Still Good (4/5): Grilled Mushroom Panzanella, Roasted Cauliflower Arancini, Short Rib, Amaro Budino. Pass (3/5): Mezzaluna - While visually appealing, I found the combination of chili sauce, roasted butternut squash purée, cheese, and hazelnuts didn't quite work together; Olive Oil Cake - Unfortunately, this dessert didn't meet expectations. Compared to others I've tried, it was on the dry side.

From the moment you walk in you know that this is a place that you will dream about. The staff is beyond kind, from making sure to account for dietary restrictions, walking you through the menu, and picking out the perfect entrees. We were here for dinner on a Monday and it was packed. Got a booth right in the middle where we could see all of the action from the kitchen, but never felt like we were in the way of anything. Our party got the three courses and it is such a deal for a little more than $60. We split nice bottle of a light red and shoutout to Robert for picking out the perfect pairing. Since there were a few of us we split all of the appetizers. Get the cabbage, I didn't think something so simple would be filling and flavorful. It is massive and grilled. The beets were also so good and so much food. The cheese was simple, but also perfectly tart and firm. Entrees were the highlight. The vodka pasta is so simple, but when it's cold you want a bowl of pasta and it does the job. Everyone loved the meals that they got. I really think my favorite thing was the garlic knots. Do yourself a favor and add at least one to your entree. They are famous for a reason and will live rent free in my head until the next time that I get to go here. Perfectly massive, soft, fresh garlic, and cheese. Dessert is never my favorite, but I loved the olive oil cake. I can see why this is the go to dessert on the menu. Just know it is cream, not ice cream when you take a bite. Coupled with the cherries, it is a delightful contrast. Throughout the meal multiple staff members came to check on us. We never ran out of water or wine. They took the time to crumb the table and replace our table wear between each course. Truly felt that we had received the best treatment. Gratuity is already included and they made it very clear on the menu and the receipt. Given how many restaurants do this I appreciated the clearness and also their level of service was beyond what we expected. Cannot say enough good things.

Place is cozy with some Italian decor and Italian music playing. Everything was pretty good in my opinion; can't say that I can choose which course was my favourite! We had the duck prosciutto as an appetizer, which was a special. It was delicious with the cooked duck taste, alongside the toast with very vibrant jam. My vongole pasta was good too; I do like pasta more on the firmer side, which it was. It tasted great with the calm, garlic, and olive oil - simple, yet tasty. The tiramisu itself was fine, but I believe it was enhanced even more with the sauces and cookie bit on the top; the cookie bit was too good. I definitely would like to come back to try some of their other things!

The presentation was beautiful - sliced and then arranged back together like the chef was Michelangelo himself. The small amount of juice around the chicken was excellent - butter and salt and rosemary and a veritable symphony of umami flavors! Divine! The lobster bisque is like no other I have ever had in my entire life and I go back and forth to Maine several times every year! But I have never eaten lobster bisque as smooth, as liquid-gold as this with so much banging flavor!!! Every spoonful exploded in my mouth. From the time I arrived they made me feel special and wasn't even wearing anything that said it was my birthday. I brought a cake with me and I was going to ask how much they charge for storage and they told me "Nothing, it's free of charge". They relieved me so much. Now for the atmosphere, it was so so elegant in there even thinking about it now makes me want to go back just to stare at those wax candles that creates mountains of dripped wax which is its own kind of art. Next, let's take about the mouthwatering and delicious food we had. I ordered the Vodka Sauce Pasta and it was the perfect amount of heat and flavor. I also got a side of garlic bread and it was so crispy, light, buttery, and garlicky, just like I like it. My husband ordered the Drunken Love Pizza and of course I had to try a slice and WOWWWW. That one slice of pizza had me drooling it was so yummy!! Everyone enjoyed their food and it was great time. Now, on to my cake, I'd brought candles, plates, and even a knife with me to cut the cake. To my surprise, they brought the cake out with lit candles and everyone sung Happy Birthday to me. They even cut and served the cake to us. Keep in mind, there was not a charge on the bill for this either. It truly made my birthday even more special. Grazie Nonna, you don't understand how happy you made me feel that day. Thank you so much for the love shown on my special day. I will forever tell people this story. Thank you!

We've taken out of town guests, we've taken our son, we've done takeout. One of my favorites is the bucatini with short rib ragu. Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! Service was good and staff was very attentive!
