    Rotting lettuce in my salad
    Hali Y.

Stop by on a whim for lunch and the setting is very nice, lots of outdoor seating. Loved the bucatini carbonara, but salad was pretty bad with many pieces of decaying lettuce and was pretty bland. I would say serving size was small. Service was meh, not terrible but nothing special, and not the fastest but we were there leisurely. There's a credit card fee of 3%.

This a great restaurant. I sat at the bar and had drinks with a friend on Sunday. The service was fine. The manager frequently checked on us and he was tremendous. The food was pretty good and authentic. We ordered a variety of cocktails and all were very tasty and well made. The game was on. The restaurant is aesthetically appealing and would be great for an affordable date night. They have really good happy hour and brunch deals. I found street parking to be plentiful for DC. I will definitely return.

Overly expensive restaurant in DuPont Circle that never quite hit the highs. I ordered a Batuta di Pollo, which was just a half chicken breast and a tiny salad, all for $22? The value didn't match the price. Service was fine, but the food was extremely boring and way too overpriced.

Hands down our favorite spot in dc!! We bring all our visitors here and it never disappoints. It has a great ambiance, very open and lively and the outdoor seating is nice too. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the food is always delicious. Great prices too!! My go to is the spicy rigatoni with added meatballs and a Caesar salad. Would also highly recommend the focaccia to start. We just came for their bottomless brunch with offers mimosas or Bellinis with a 2 hour time frame for just $20!! Super reasonable and our waitress always made sure our glasses were full. Can't wait for my next trip back!!

Service was good, but everything else was pretty mediocre. The wine glasses were very dirty and no bread included which I feel is a must at any self-respecting Italian restaurant. The Burrata Caprese was fine. If bread had been a part of it I think that would've justified the price. I ordered a seafood pasta (forget the name) which was pretty basic and the shrimp / clams were a bit overcooked. I'm not an expert chef by any means, but I feel like I could do better at home. Overall, I was disappointed by the food quality and dirty wine glasses. I think there are plenty of other better options within the same price range.

vibe is very nice, food was okay. the service is good too, we sat outside because a big party reserved the inside and the outside was fine. it was a fine night but food not memorable.

I had such a great experience here. Despite a bit of a wait, the manager was so gracious and surprised my party with two complimentary tiramisus. Between the food and the wonderful ambiance, I absolutely loved the vibe. Highly recommend!

Pretty good spot to grab Italian food. Nothing special but it is serviceable. The location is one of the nice perks with the big indoor space and large covered patio. The appetizers all seemed like good options and we went with the burrata. It was really refreshing and the tomatoes were really sweet. I got the carbonara for my main dish and liked it. It wasn't the best carbonara in the world but hey we were hungry. The service was kind of slow and was is one of my only complaints. It felt like they disappeared after dropping off the food. The surcharge for gluten-free pasta seems pretty high at $9. That's the highest I've seen of any Italian restaurant with gluten free options.

This was my first time visiting the Connecticut Ave location as I have only had great experiences at the 14th st location. While brunch was good, the survive was subpar. My friends and I waited quite a long time to order and to receive refills of our bottomless mimosas. That was disappointing but somewhat understandable given how packed it was but the most frustrating was the fact that the server REPEATEDLY spilled mimosa on us as he was pouring and without any acknowledgment or an apology. I was willing to ignore it the first time but shortly after I finished wiping the drink out of my eye and off my face he proceeded to spill a significant amount of mimosa on my friends all white jeans. While mistakes happen, he was careless and again offered not even an apology. I enjoyed my food but will probably stick to the other location.

The waitress I had was so sweet and their guest service coordinator constantly checked in with a warm attitude. I got the focaccia and was between the girasoli and spaghetti pomodoro. I am so glad I went with my waitresses recommendation and got the girasoli! It was unlike any pasta I've ever had. Similar to a ravioli, but has a veggie puree opposed to cheese on the inside. The leek and lettuce within the lemon butter sauce was to die for, and the girasoli itself was pleasant and unforgettable. The focaccia was also SO FLUFFY. The outer crust was not too crunchy and just right. The inside is so glamorous but also feels Italian. Very clean, nice and spread out, and overall a fabulous vibe. If I'm ever back in DC, this is on my list of restaurants to be coming back to!

Unfortunately, I never got a chance to while I lived in DC, because to be honest, I never got in an Italian mood. Now that I no longer reside in the DC area, I use every visit to eat my faves and occasionally a new spot. So, after another popular (and cheaper) Italian place closed before I could finish my delivery order, I spotted L'Ardente. I ordered the famous Lasagna - their 40-layer specialty - with short rib sugo, truffle mornay, and Sottocenere Cheese. The truffle mornay added a smooth, melty, creamy cheese sauce. It is good, but I am not sure if it is worth the hype at $40 lagnasa. I think the cost is built into the work but not the flavor profile. I think the meal is better without the sauce - it made it too salty with it.

Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! I really appreciate the kindness of the staff. Thank you so much. The place is beautiful. The aesthetic is a mix of old industrial ceilings with retro Italian architecture. Coming to the food. Nothing disappointed me even a tad bit. Everything was just amazing. Starting with the Mozzarella bar. The bread, the dips and the cheese. I was delighted tasting everything. I would just come here again alone for the Mozz Bar. Then the blue prawns were marinated and grilled to perfection. The presentation was 10/10 but the taste was 11/10. The oxtail pasta was delicious! I usually do not go for pasta but this honestly made me fall in love with pasta again. The whole branzino was seared to perfection. It was salty, the skin was crispy, the meat was flaky and cooked simply. There was a bed of herbs under the branzino that tasted out of this world. Last but not the least, the rosemary cake.
