    Sweet Chili Baked Wings
    Winston L.

Arrived at Wise Guys at 11 PM on a Saturday. A bit of a line, but they process orders quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were able to grab seats, but some people were standing to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] First thing I noticed were all the interesting pizza flavors from Nashville Hot Chicken to Vegetarian Paneer Tikka. Pizzas are premade so you can see what you're getting. I believe 14 were on display. Once you order, they throw the slices back into the oven so they are piping hot when you get them. We ordered a slice of Korean BBQ Chicken, Mushroom Truffle, and Margherita. Got them as two-slice and one-slice combos so they came with two drinks and two garlic knots. Thin slices, but with some structure (not a floppy slice). I liked the Korean BBQ Chicken the best, it has some sweetness to it. If that's not your thing, the other two were good as well. I thought the garlic knots were fine, but the pizza was a better use of my calories. We also got an order of baked wings. I was surprised they were able to get a decent crust on the wings, despite being baked. Maybe it is because they were on the edge of being burnt, but it worked out. I also liked the flavor we got - sweet chili. It also surprisingly worked with the ranch dipping sauce. Not many food options open super late. Wise Guys is really good place for a snack/meal at night or at any time.

I have loved every slice I have tried here! They have different flavorful slices each time I try, and they are always so unique!

This place is part of a small local chain of pizza joint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This restaurant has a decent sized patio area on the sidewalk out front and a very small dining area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The dining area is a bit disheveled with boxes and drinks stacked all over.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff there was nice, but I will admit my interaction with them was limited. There is metered parking in front of the restaurant and within a reasonable walking distance. I placed my order online and was able to find a coupon that gave me a few dollars off my order. In addition to pizza, they have salads, stromboli, rollers and desserts. I ordered a slice of pepperoni, a slice of Il Capo, and a slice of Korean Chicken. My order was not ready when I got there, but I did noit have to wait to long. My pizza was good. It was not the best I have had but it was good. It is similar to New York style (but much less grease) and the slices were decent sized. If you are looking to put some pizza in your life, you should definitely consider checking this place out.

One of my favorite pizza places to visit in the DC area is this spot. This is one of those places where you have to recommend a delicious pizza for people to try on their next visit. I like the option for late hours, as it is a must for me since I like to eat pizza at any time of day, lol. The service is quick and easy. Before I forget, check out their lunch special: two slices of pizza and a drink, or choose the one you prefer.

TLDR; good pizza with lots of unique flavors. Decent portion for the price but taste is middle of the road. Not bad but not great. We did takeout. The online ordering experience was easy to navigate and our pizza was done quickly. We ordered: Triple pepperoni - a great pizza if you like lots of pepperoni on your slice. I was worried about it being too much but the ratio was just right. Good flavor but a lot like a traditional pepperoni pizza whereas I was expecting it to have a unique taste. Chicken bacon ranch - excellent taste but far too dry. Pizza needed more sauce and/or ranch. Overall good pizza but unsure if I would come back.

This pizza shop rocks! We were in town visiting and were looking for a quick bite to eat in between tours and this pizza shop knocked it out of the park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The customer service, variety of pizzas, taste, presentation, cleanliness, customer service, and super friendly vibes made our experience awesome.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wish we had this pizza shop where we live in SoCal.

    Nashville Hot Chicken Slice

The pizza here was very good. I got a hot honey slice and a chicken and bacon. They were both good. The food was ready fairly quickly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was clean and had a nice staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Cheese pizza and garlic knots.

We got cheese pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was crispy and delicious and the garlic knots were soft and flavorful. Service was very fast and the food was hot. Great place, definitely worth a stop.

I came to Wiseguy Pizza with a group of friends. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For a pizzeria, it was pretty spacious and allowed for dining in at tables or counters.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I appreciated the various and unique selections they offered. I went with the Mushroom Truffle because I love white pizza, and the Nashville Hot Chicken because it was unique. Both pizzas came out fairly fast, and I enjoyed the flavors and crispness of each slice.

First time here and it's not my number 1 choice. I prefer my pizza made to order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The pizza was fine, the place was busy during lunch with limited seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Korean/Paneer

Where we've been staying in the city I've been seeing everyone carrying a Wise Guy Pizza box. So naturally I had to go and check it out. I know DC has several places selling big slice pizza. Wise Guy is impressive for the different variations of pizzas. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The little corner pizzeria shop is a great place to enjoy a slice (or two...or a whole pie) inside or out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My wife and I enjoyed the Korean, Chicken Paneer, and the Il Capo, with some garlic knots. Since we order a slice, the pizza tasted good being reheated. But I think next time I want to get a whole pie because the people walking out with the fresh pies looked amazing. Will definitely be enjoying here soon again.

I heard Wiseguy offers the best pizza in DC so as a transplanted New Yorker, I had to check it out! I went with some friends late at night and it was still popping! I got the mushroom slice and enjoyed it! I like how the crust was thin but still had a nice chew. Ratio of cheese to crust was good but I would have loved more mushroom slices to balance out the basil pieces. My friend's Nashville chicken featured fine chicken but wasn't spicy enough. The paneer slice was actually quite spicy (and legit per my Indian friends). The pepper flavors came through and paneer chunks with a good texture. I liked how they heated up the slices nicely without overcooking the pizza. Staff were polite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables/seating available inside and out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Overall solid pizza for the DC area!

    Chicken Parm Pizza, $29
    Calder S.

I had the Chicken Parm pizza ($29) which was 18" big. The pizza was ok. The chicken tasted cheap and was more breading than chicken. The flavors were all a bit bland; adding crushed red pepper helped. I liked the crust (medium thickness) but my friend found it bland and cardboardy. I would visit again but I wouldn't get this pizza again. Service could be improved. I ordered for pick up at 5:45 PM and the pizza wasn't ready until 6 PM. Another person was also picking up a Chicken Parm pizza at the same time; I suspect they delayed my order to make it alongside the other order. Maybe this was more convenient for them, but it wasn't very good service for me. It's also a hassle to pick up pizzas because staff doesn't man the register all the time, so if all the staff are helping other people, there is no one to ask for your pizza, even if you see it sitting on a shelf. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This Wiseguy location is barebones but has the basics. There are about 12 seats inside, a soda fountain, a bathroom. They provide napkin and shakers for parmesan and crushed red pepper.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

This restaurant…read morewas recommended to me by a colleague so I decided to make the walk from where I am currently staying. Let me start by saying that the atmosphere in this restaurant is one that is so welcoming the minute you arrive. I approached the hostess stand to inquire if there was bar seating available to which the polite hostesses provided a gentle hand gesture and oral direction to the bar. While walking to the bar area, I encountered what I presume to have been a server who was likely standing watch from a distance over his service area, who apologized as our paths met. (There was no reason to apologize, very polite nonetheless) I found a seat at the bar and was greeted by Paul. Paul was an exceptionally pleasant and answered all my immediate questions while preparing my initial cocktail during happy hour. We discussed the menu and he provided great insight which helped finalize my decision for the evening . In the meantime, bar manager Laura stopped by to ensure that I was taken care of to which I informed her that Paul and I spoke and he is making a beverage for me. For the food...the Caesar Salad is #1. I am a food snob and this salad HITS!! While enjoying my salad I inquired about their cast bourbon selection. The staff was very knowledgeable and provided a price list to coincide with their higher end selections. My 40 layer lasagna arrived some time in the midst of the conversation where Paul extended a courtesy sampling of a wine that he recommended that pairs nicely with my meal. It was perfect. I closed out my meal with an espresso type martini, at which time Paul and Laura further extended and offered me a sampling of one of the bourbons I was looking at. I cannot say enough about this establishment. I can't wait to go back and have already recommended via phone conversations to three people and I just left. The evening and encounter was more than just pleasantries with a customer, rather I felt as if I was the only one. If the owner or manager is reading this, Paul and Laura are 10+ and I will be back. Thank you so much for the best meal I have had in DC over the last 2 weeks. Can't wait to do it again!!!

The place is very moodily charming because you're on a basement level with no natural light, so everything is dark and the vibe is Italian grandma kitsch. The whole thing manages to work. They were busy, and our waitress, who was highly professional (honestly she seemed like she could be a government employee) was being pulled to some VIP table in their back room (which we were seated adjacent to), so she was not as available as we would have liked. We got a couple cocktails and started with the Caesar salad and the meatballs. For a place that boasts about its portion sizes, there were only two meatballs, and they were fine. The free bread wasn't impressive, especially considering the extraordinary bread situation that we had at The Dip the previous evening. The salad was undersalted and kinda bland. So, overall, not the most promising beginning. We all shared the one main dish of Linguini Cardinale after our waitress sold us on it. It's sort of like a vodka sauce that mated with lobster, and it was delicious, but it was quite rich and heavy. We did like it though. Dessert was where we went all out with the strawberry cheesecake, the pistachio strawberry mousse cake, and the dark chocolate mousse cake. The one that had pistachio was terrible--everything tasted artificial and the texture wasn't right. The chocolate one was OK. Luckily the cheesecake was where it was at. It's not Junior's-level or anything, but compared to the other two, it stood out. We're glad we came here to have tried it once and we had a good time as a family, so it'll be a fond memory. We don't feel a pressing need to return, but we would recommend it for folks to try once.

The service in general could've been wayy better. We ordered pizza and then pasta and when we asked for a box, we were made to box up our own food and we were just given a huge pizza box that took up 80% of our table and the waitress walked away. I don't know if I was expected to just hold the pizza box while sitting at a small table and trying to eat my pasta, but there was absolutely zero consideration given to where I was supposed to put this large pizza box on this small table when we still had half of our meal coming to the table. The waiter also didn't pay attention to any dietary restrictions or allergies, and offered zero guidance on that. Also, we were told that there was a time limit for where we were sitting despite they're being several tables open the whole time we were there. For the food, I really enjoyed the food- Italian salad, pizza with the hot honey, and Alfredo pasta. But everything else really dampened the experience. If I were to go back, I would either order takeout, eat outside, or come another day when it wasn't so loud, and have a different waiter.

Shortly after we got our drink, we received notification of an opening and were seated by 8:15. We had the burrata appetizer, Ragú x 2, and the seafood fra diavolo. The burrata was one of the best I've had since they serve it with pesto, pine nuts, and garlic bread. It was truly divine! The Ragú was not far behind. Incredible flavor and a generous portion. The seafood dish had a nice kick and had plenty of seafood, which is not common as of late. All dishes were also priced reasonably for the quality you received. As we sat at the bar, we had pleasant conversation with the bartender and finished our meal with a small cannoli that really sealed the deal. If you're looking for excellent Italian food in DC without breaking the bank, look no further than Caruso's grocery! We've taken out of town guests, we've taken our son, we've done takeout. One of my favorites is the bucatini with short rib ragu. I always ask for an extra side of buratta, which pair is so nicely with the hearty sauce.

Found it to be a bit louder than I would've liked but I think it was because of the spacing between tables. Came toward the end of the night and got seated and welcomed right away. I ordered the polpette, meatballs to start. They were quite tasty, but the sauce was a bit watery. Think that's just because the meatballs themselves were pretty juicy. Heard the focaccia was a hit, so asked for some of that. I was told they didn't have any left. Which was weird, because then another server came and asked if I wanted bread. I'm glad I said yes because the focaccia is very fresh and was a great addition to the meal. For my main, I ordered the vodka pasta, which was very flavorful and very saucy. I love a good, thick vodka sauce and that's what you'll get here. The one part of the pasta I didn't really enjoy was the chicken inside the pasta. I think I would've preferred a grilled chicken option instead of the chicken that comes in the pasta. That being said, this place is a gem. The prices are great and the portions are hearty. The pasta is thick, you're really coming here for fresh noodles and ingredients. If you want to top your meal off just right, you'll get the chocolate lava cake. Very delicious! Service was good and staff was very attentive!

With $7 martinis available from Monday to Sunday in their cozy lounge, it's an ideal spot to unwind with friends. I sampled several cocktails and found each one to be exceptional, but the standout for me was the Cala Rossa a sweet yet refreshing delight. After enjoying our share of martinis, our appetites kicked in, prompting us to check for a table. The staff was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to sit at the bar. We indulged in their pasta offerings, opting for the Capelletti and Rigatoni, both of which were delicious and perfectly cooked. Cucina Morini combines great service, delicious food, and a vibrant atmosphere, making it a fun visit for anyone looking to enjoy a fantastic night out.

Not saying that dining companions are distracting, but I felt like I could fully experience the flavor of both the Taglioni Neri and Gnocchi, both half portions at $10 each, better on my own. When the dishes came, I saw that the sauces were both red and feared they would taste too similar. After one fork full of each, they are quite clearly distinct. The standout in the Neri were the shellfish for me. Even though they were small bits, the pieces tasted fresh. In the Gnocchi, the saltiness of the prosciutto, though not overwhelming, paired well with the basil sauce. I finished a little more than half of each plate before boxing it up for a small lunch the next day. The service was great and the tall ceiling and windowed dining room provided a nice atmosphere. It was a cloudy and rainy Memorial Day, but I wondered what the sunlight looked like shining through those high windows. How lovely a space they have created to enjoy fine Italian dining in.
