Truffle Brie + Steak au Poivre burgers, pomme frites, Claudette
    Raine X.

Heard this place has the best burgers, so I stopped by while in Georgetown. A little pricey for the portion size, but the food was delicious. For drinks, I HIGHLY recommend the Claudette - it was so good and so refreshing to have on a hot summer day. There was a line out the door, but we got in quickly. Went on a Saturday and the place was packed, but the energy is lively and the service is great!

A very cute place in Georgetown that specializes in Burger. I love how they serve all different creations of burger. My favorite was the one with brisket, bacon, and beef patty. My friend though like the onion rings burger. The dip for the puff pastry was probably my second favorite item. The salad was decent. I saw a table next to me ordered a fish sandwich and I'd like to try that next. Servers were attentive. There is no reservation and all parties must be present to be seated.

Came in for a late lunch on a weekday and grabbed whichever seat I preferred! Decided to order the Roti de Boeuf and a side of fries. Loved the sandwich but the fries were fried a little harder than my liking. Service was amazing, the staff here are super friendly. The restaurant is small and quaint so you feel like you've stepped into mini version of France. Such a cute restaurant!

I got the chance to go to La Bonne Vache with my wife recently and we truly enjoyed ourselves. Service was fantastic from beginning to end. The venue is surprisingly big and they do not take reservations. If you plan on going during a designated meal time (lunch or dinner) try to show up 30 minutes before. The burger was fantastic. Best I've had in a while.

One of the best burgers I've ever had! We came in at around 9 and they closed at 10, there was still a line but they got us seated within 10 minutes. Service was quick and efficient, we each had a burger and shared the pomme frites. Don't skip the garlic aioli! They were out of carmelized onions at that point--understandable given the lateness and how busy they seem to be--but they were able to sub my partner's carmelized onions with sautéed mushrooms. A real gem, and totally affordable!

10/10. The burger was good, clean, quality. The star of the show was the Gruyère fondue French fries - WOW. I will dream of those for a while. This is the cutest, quaintest spot for dinner with a friend or a date night! Kind, prompt service. Such an adorable touch to give you a postcard at the end too. It felt like a little European escape!

Popped by yesterday for a nice dinner in a charming location!! Our favorites were the classic burger, the French onion soup burger, the fries, and the flan. We felt that the cheese puffs and the steak tartare were worth a try, but we likely wouldn't order them again on a future visit. Our server Rami (sp?) was also wonderful, and he really added to our evening.

I had the mussels with fries, it was very good including the flavor of the juice that came with the mussels. I got their spritz drink, does have alcohol in it. It was good and refreshing. The service is always great and ambiance is good.

Just like they say - approachable and affordable french upscale casual fare. The burgers are delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. Drinks are also great - the espresso martini is delicious and unique. Service is pretty quick, they are busy here trying to get people in and out! Honestly worth the wait outside in the cold if you have to!

We came here around 11am on a Saturday - peak lunch time. There was already a line but it moved relatively quickly. It took awhile for our waiter to get around to us but not a big deal. The food itself was great! I especially liked the butter that came with the bread. It was really good and smooth

This place is super cute! The staff are very friendly. Service was great. The food was excellent. My daughter and I both had two different kind of burgers and pomme frites. The Claudette drink is a must, so good!

La Bonne Vache lived up to the hype! Pro tip: Go for a late lunch to snag a table right away since they are walk-in only. The Hot Spiced Pear cocktail is the perfect seasonal sip, and the mushroom tartine is a total standout. I ordered the Beef Roti and it was 10/10. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food. I'll definitely be back soon!

We beelined here, fresh off a plane, only to wait in line for ~35mins. We figured that if the lines that long, it's got to be worth the wait, right? My goodness, it was! The restaurant has such a cute cottage ambiance from the exposed wooden beams and floral wallpaper. It is quite lively so those sensitive to loud noise might consider to sit outside. We were seated at a tiny table with a direct view of the kitchen and we watched in awe as the crew adroitly prepared meals for dozens of tables, churning out freshly toasted buns and perfectly fried pommes, amongst many other delicious treats. And the smells had us antsy with anticipation for our meal. The gougères arrived first. They're small puffs that are lightly crispy on the outside and soft and mildly cheesy on the inside. They're so perfect on their own that they don't really need any accompaniment but the cream cheese sauce is tasty. The cauliflower and Gruyère soup was so bright and flavorful. We couldn't get enough of it. Definitely going to try to make something like it at home. The burger soupe a l'oignon" is a thin burger on a beautifully toasted brioche bun with garlic aioli, Gruyère fondue, caramelized onions and crispy onions. It was such a perfect burger - the beef is ground in house with a proprietary ratio of different cuts. You can tell the quality since there isn't any gristle or weird rubbery bits. I'm counting days before I can enjoy it again. I'll be back for sure!

I originally booked Omakase room by Tadayoshi for August 15th dinner at 5:30. To my shock it turned out Omakase room is closed that day but my reservation was still active and I confirmed it as well the day before. My husband wanted to try this Omakase place for a while and I thought the day was perfect for it. Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed and I was taken by surprise as I didn't have any alternative plans or reservations. We first spoke with General manager at Boucherie and she kindly offered us to take a look at the menu and see if we wanted to dine there instead. I was very upset that the planned and anticipated reservation didn't work out. I said yes at first because I didn't know what else to do but we got an amazing server Revo who lightened the mood and Manager Michael was very kind to us and understanding. While dinner started not on a great note, it ended up the best outcome we could have had. Everyone we interacted with was kind and great. I would love to come back again but now specifically for Boucherie and in a much better mood. I totally understand that reservation issue is not Boucherie's responsibility and I still don't know how this all happened. But we hey made our anniversary dinner a fanatic experience. Many thanks to them and also to the sommelier. Wine list was great and we received great recommendations. Thank you, Boucherie team for everything, I was ready to start crying at the omakase room after seeing it was closed but now I will be back specifically for you and the great food. Beef bourgonion was the best I have ever had.

We arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday night to see if there was room for two or at least room at the bar. I wish the hostess had told us that we could wait at the bar for a table to open up, as we saw that's what many other patrons did, but she told us there was bar seating and high tops and so my husband and I went on up. We easily had our choice of two seats at the bar or a high top, and we selected a high top. After 5 minutes of no one acknowledging us, my husband and I told each other we would wait two more minutes before we would bail. Right as we were about to jump ship, a server came by and asked if we wanted menus. We said sure but it was just strange that no one greeted us, it was just "you want menus?" Lol. Another server brought us menus and asked if we would like water and a breadbasket. We said yes and after about 15 minutes, bread arrived. We chatted with the server about what drinks we should order; I ordered a French 75 and my husband ordered a special Sazerac. We also ordered the tuna carpoacio. After about 10 minutes, the server came back and to confirm if I wanted the soft side cocktail and if my husband wanted an old fashioned. We said we did not and corrected him. Then, a server tried to give our drinks to the table next to us and our server corrected him and brought steak tartare. And then he goes "oh wait, did you order this?" We said no and he asked if we wanted it because if not he had to throw it away lol. And then 5 seconds later, the tuna came. Both the tuna carpaccio and the steak tartare were delicious. But this was the entire evening: we ordered something, something else came. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose, and an espresso martini appeared on the house. We had to ask for our bill twice and when we got our bill, it was definitely someone else's. Finally, as we were preparing to go, the original server comes back and goes "here's your espresso martini." Like bro we asked you originally for the check and we are clearly leaving. Luckily, my husband and I had plenty of time before our show, it was a great atmosphere, and the food was super delicious. It was just such a comically bizarre experience and I feel like they are definitely losing money. I think we paid for half of what we ate and drank and probably ate and drank other people's food! Maybe we will go back? Maybe not lol

I tried my coworker's cucumber drink, and as someone who does not like cucumbers, I couldn't deny how refreshing and summery that was. I was on the fence about a couple of entrees, but I decide to get the BECC... Bacon egg & cheese croissant. WHEW! That thing was so flaky and every ingredient was simply delicious. I was the only one at the table that didn't get potatoes with my entree... I went for the fruit instead. Little did I know that it was going to be all melons. I only started liking watermelon last year, and that was fine, but the cantaloupe?? I still don't like it. I could have asked to swap out but I didn't want to be difficult. And I didn't ask what kind of fruit it was, so that is on me. After this brunch experience, I'll be curious to come on other occasions. Happy hour, dinner.... The food came out pretty quickly; I just wasn't impressed with it. I ordered a happy hour cocktail - the tequila honeysuckle. I was told it is tequila with ginger, honey and a touch of lime juice - it tasted really watered down. no bite from ginger or tart from lime at all. I should've went with the wine which my companions had and enjoyed, after all it is a wine bar. They offered a DC restaurant week menu even though restaurant week hasn't officially started so that was a nice surprise. For my three courses. I had the tomato and peach salad, the steak frites and the Peach Melba. The fruit seemed to be under ripe, so the tomatoes and peaches in both dishes were very firm and not sweet. In fact, I could barely cut the peach in the Peach Melba with a spoon and so I took two bites of it before I called it quits. The frites were very good. I ordered the steak medium but it was a little overdone, not juicy and underwhelming in flavor. Overall, I enjoyed the visit because it was a great opportunity to catch up with my companions, but if I come again, I think I'll just stick to wine.

The problem with Lutèce is that they don't give a single crap about their customer's experience. We booked a 6 PM table. My friend and I arrived at 5:55, and were seated by 6. The waiter IMMEDIATELY told us we had the table for 2 hours and then had to leave. He then got us water and eventually (10 min in) took our drink orders. He then told us again that we had the table for only 2 hours. Our other friend was 15 minutes late. She arrived, and we looked at the menus. One was the regular menu, and one was a five course tasting. We discussed for ~5 minutes, and then told the waiter we all wanted the tasting menu. His response: "Sorry, it's too late for that now. The kitchen can't do it in the amount of time you have remaining." This for a $125 menu with an $80 wine pairing. We ended up ordering far less food, which was unceremoniously dumped on our table with no regard for coursing in an obvious attempt to hurry us along, and several times wait staff attempted to pick up plates that were clearly still full of food while we were clearly still eating. By the time we received the dessert menu we felt scared to order it, and completely unwelcome. And of course, you guessed it: they automatically add a 20 percent service charge so there's no market correction to their piss-poor service. The attitude at this restaurant is everything wrong with fine dining in general in this day and age, and in DC in particular: You should be so lucky to dine here, you lickspittles. Eat up and get out. Thanks, but no. Never again. You'll find me at the bar at Chloe where they take the time to know your name and never make you feel unwelcome.

I stopped by earlier during the tail end of HH to grab steak tartare & made a reservation for 7pm for my friends & I. I am unsure what the issue was with the female hostess today (likely under pressure from stress), but I do not think it is an excuse to be rude to customers. Additionally, when I returned back for my 7pm reservation, she told me "something happened" in the system & I would have to wait 45 mimutes. I asked was my reservation not in the system already since she rudely insisted that I make a reservation in advance. She said they were at capacity, but she still did not give a clear answer as to why my reservation was not in the system already. So I waited 45 minutes & an additional 5 to be seated. Upon being seated and set to finally place my order, I am being told that the oysters and the frozen cocktail are out for the day, at 8pm.... I had other friends coming far away thinking they would have the oysters & cocktail specials for National Oysters Day; one friend was coming 40 minutes away (from further out MD) & the other coming 26 minutes. Imagine if I wouldn't have contacted them immediately to let them know that the special we wanted ran out. They would have wasted their time coming far away for nothing. I am IMMENSELY & deeply disappointed in the rude service, lack of professionalism, and lack of communication with this establishment. I shouldn't have to wait until I am all seated to find out items ran out, especially for an "All Day" special. I waited an hour for absolutely nothing. I cleared my evening, thinking I would have a great time celebrating National Oysters Day, for nothing. Whole evening gone & time was wasted, left on an empty stomach. More surprisingly, it was one of the toughest steaks I have ever eaten. At $49, that is unacceptable. The mashed potatoes were equally disappointing: bland, not buttery, and nothing like the rich French pommes purée I expected. We also ordered the carrots, but they never arrived. Already looking forward to coming back.

What a fun night! We came for Thursday jazz (which definitely was less speakeasy and more easy…read morelistening--still great, but wanted to share), and had such a good time. The musicians were lightly singing and playing the piano, allowing for us to chat and not have to strain to hear one another. The dinner menu is a great deal and we all ordered. You can select an app, entree, and dessert, which includes bottomless fries and salad (which is topped with the most delicious vinaigrette), for $45. They also have $10 martinis. I had the burrata, mussels, and we all opted for a different dessert so we could share. Everything was so delicious. We ordered a side of the baguette which was so crunchy, fresh, and hot. The butter was absolutely delicious, and every bite was spectacular. The carafes of wine were a great deal as well, coming in half a liter and a liter ($18/$34), with the wine tasting good. I will certainly be retuning for a future jazz night or potentially a night on their beautiful patio. Heads up--a reservation is recommended as it fills up quickly on Thursdays!
