This might be one a my new go to happy hour spots. Le DeSales is a French and Japanese fusion restaurant with a great happy hour available all night on Mondays and 4-8 pm on Tuesday - Friday. Happy Hour is only available in the bar area so I would recommend going early to get a seat. They have great options for food and drinks all in the $6 - $10 price range. I enjoyed all the drinks I tried and really liked the spicy tuna and crispy shrimp rolls. The service was great and the restaurant has a very laid back vibe making it perfect for any occasion.

Great happy hour options. The vegetarian sushi option was good. I didn't feel like I was missing out on the experience at all with non vegetarian group. There can be a wait for happy hour, especially for a Friday night. Employees were friendly and service was fantastic.

A friend's coworker recommended this spot so my gf and I took that as a legally binding obligation to try it. We went for happy hour because we needed to see what the hype was about. They've got regular tables, but the bar is where happy hour lives, and honestly the bar vibe is cute. Dim, cozy, very intimate! Happy hour is basically the land of $10 everything, and the sushi was actually really good. The drink was a win too. Overall, recommend this spot!! :)

They have great happy hour specials, which is why we decided to check it out. The menu is mainly French, but they also serve sushi. When we walked in, the host greeted us with, "How can I help you?" in a way that made it feel like we didn't belong there. It was an odd vibe for a restaurant. We decided to order a happy hour drink anyway. The bartender was friendly, but the drinks were neither balanced nor enjoyable.

Came here with friends for restaurant week the other day. Food was overall good but the steaks were a bit on the saltier side. Other than that, great service and great place to catch up with friends. The drinks were alright, a bit too strong for my liking and I just didn't love it. The salad paired with the steak was good though- I did enjoy it. Would probably come back for restaurant week!

Le Desales is such a French-Asian fusion, which happens to be two of my favorite cuisines, so it felt like the best of both worlds! We went on a crowded Saturday night, and the vibe was perfect: fancy but not too fancy, just right. They even had a coat check, which was a nice touch. The space isn't huge, but it feels intimate and well done. Our waiter was entertaining, friendly, and very helpful, which made the night even better. We started with the onion soup, salad, and tuna sushi. Everything was enjoyable, though the onion soup was the only dish that didn't quite hit a 5 for us. For mains, we shared the branzino and steak. The branzino was really delicious (served with the head), and the steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare and ended with a tasty creme brûlée! Overall, we had a great night and would definitely come back the next time we're in town.

I would say for the most part, this was a decent experience. The place is intimate but casual The appetizers were more tastier than the actual entrees Our waiter was really nice and attentive to our large group We ordered the burrata, baguette as well as the spinach and artichoke cheese dip Those were my faves to be honest and for such a large party we all able to try each one For my entree, I ordered the grilled shrimp gnocchi, its tomato based with shrimp and potato bites but the the potato bites were not as soft as I expected I also tried bavette, I didn't think the 7oz was enough but I liked it I would probably recommend for lunch or a wick dinner

The ambiance is beautiful, the server was more than accommodating, helped us switch tables for a two person to a four person table too even though is was just two of us. Drink were tasty and sushi trio is great option. Asked for fish and chips and received a roll when I meant the plate but it was cheaper and my boyfriend said the quality of fish was great.

Honestly such a good happy hour deal if you know what to order. The ambiance is STUNNING in here and I would definitely consider this place for a birthday dinner because it feels cozy and intimate without being flashy. We ordered two cocktails - the asian pear sangria and the blood orange cocktail - and they were DELICIOUS. For food we got the spicy tuna roll and himachi with Serrano and we thought they were okay. The tuna is made with miso and capers so it runs a little too salty but the himachi was perfect and Serrano added a nice refreshing crunch and flavor. We topped off the night with fries which... oh my god??? McDonalds fries but BETTER. Next time I'd skip the sushi and go for just cocktails and fries. Service is great!! Drinks are STRONG lol

The sushi had unique flavors but they turned out to be good! We tried the hamachi Serrano and salmon. All the drinks we tried were good too, especially the angry dragon margarita- wasn't really what you'd expect for a typical margarita but the flavors were good! We originally planned to go for happy hour since they have theirs till 8pm, but the bar area was too loud and crowded to enjoy- wouldn't recommend happy hour if you're looking to be able to chat. The staff was nice enough to find us a table on short notice though the restaurant was crowded.

Came by during happy hour and had a great time. It gets packed near the end of happy hour so come early if you want a spot at the bar. It's great for a place to come solo or with a friend to talk. Our food came out fast and I didn't feel rushed although it was packed near the end I ordered the spicy tuna roll and the fries which was both yummy! Perfect happy hour post work grab and i would definitely come back

While staying at The Mayflower on Connecticut Ave, we came here for lunch soon after checking in. They were open for lunch still, even around 2PM and we sat at the bar, where service was decent. The menu is typical French bistro style, but I didn't see a croque monsieur. We got a Caesar salad to share and I got their French Onion soup too. We also started with deviled eggs. The Deviled eggs were great! Creamy and full of flavor, yet perfect texture. The salad was good, but lacked a depth of flavor. I don't like the raw sardines on top, only mashed up in the dressing, but this dressing seemed to be lacking viscosity as well... definitely needed lots of pepper added to it. The French Onion soup was great! Lots of great flavor and the broth was excellent. Save room for dessert... we got their bread pudding which was excellent! The venue is beautifully decorated, just like a French bistro you'd venture into on a side street in France! Would definitely return and highly recommend stopping in!

Happy Hour M-Sat until close...bet! Directly across the street from The Mayflower Hotel, which made it super convenient to pop in for a quick bite. Sat at the bar and ordered the Lavender Margarita -- not too sweet, but tasty. Menu is French-Asian. I ordered the crispy shrimp roll and spicy tuna. Crispy shrimp was really good. Spicy tuna was typical tuna roll.

Although they offered us the elevator, it was located on the opposite side of the restaurant, making it a bit difficult. I asked if it would be possible to move to the first floor, and they kindly accommodated our request, which we really appreciated. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks were just as good. The portions are quite generous, so if you're not a big eater, you may want to consider sharing a dish. One thing to note is that the restrooms are gender-neutral. While they were very clean, I found this a little inconvenient when visiting with children. If you plan to go on a weekend, expect the restaurant to be lively and a bit noisy. Also, avoid the parking lot next door if possible--it was very chaotic and not worth the hassle. Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience with excellent food, great drinks, and friendly service. I'd definitely recommend it, especially if you enjoy French cuisine.

We arrived at 7:45 on a Saturday night to see if there was room for two or at least room at the bar. I wish the hostess had told us that we could wait at the bar for a table to open up, as we saw that's what many other patrons did, but she told us there was bar seating and high tops and so my husband and I went on up. We easily had our choice of two seats at the bar or a high top, and we selected a high top. After 5 minutes of no one acknowledging us, my husband and I told each other we would wait two more minutes before we would bail. Right as we were about to jump ship, a server came by and asked if we wanted menus. We said sure but it was just strange that no one greeted us, it was just "you want menus?" Lol. Another server brought us menus and asked if we would like water and a breadbasket. We said yes and after about 15 minutes, bread arrived. We chatted with the server about what drinks we should order; I ordered a French 75 and my husband ordered a special Sazerac. We also ordered the tuna carpoacio. After about 10 minutes, the server came back and to confirm if I wanted the soft side cocktail and if my husband wanted an old fashioned. We said we did not and corrected him. Then, a server tried to give our drinks to the table next to us and our server corrected him and brought steak tartare. And then he goes "oh wait, did you order this?" We said no and he asked if we wanted it because if not he had to throw it away lol. And then 5 seconds later, the tuna came. Both the tuna carpaccio and the steak tartare were delicious. But this was the entire evening: we ordered something, something else came. I ordered a glass of sparkling rose, and an espresso martini appeared on the house. We had to ask for our bill twice and when we got our bill, it was definitely someone else's. Finally, as we were preparing to go, the original server comes back and goes "here's your espresso martini." Like bro we asked you originally for the check and we are clearly leaving. Luckily, my husband and I had plenty of time before our show, it was a great atmosphere, and the food was super delicious. It was just such a comically bizarre experience and I feel like they are definitely losing money. I think we paid for half of what we ate and drank and probably ate and drank other people's food! Maybe we will go back? Maybe not lol

Buzzy but not overly loud, with stylish decor that sets the perfect mood for a relaxing brunch with friends or family. To kick things off, I had a mimosa and an iced latte. For food, we ordered the Escargots à L'ail (first timer with this!!!) It was six escargots swimming in a flavorful garlic parsley butter, with flaky puff pastry rounds for dipping. I was definitely nervous, but the flavors were rich without being overpowering, and the pastry added just the right amount of flavor. For the table, we shared the Warm Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese Ball served with honey and some decadent red wine caramelized onions. The combination of the creamy goat cheese, sweet honey, and savory onions was absolutely amazing. This was definitely a highlight and highly recommended for sharing.. One unique thing: they offer bottomless mimosas and bellinis for one hour. We don't see much of bottomless mimosas in VB, so I found this exciting. For my entree, I couldn't resist the B.E.C.C.: crispy bacon, creamy scrambled eggs (although I swapped in a fried egg), and gruyère cheese all piled on a freshly baked croissant, plus your choice of fresh fruit or Basque potatoes (the potatoes are great, by the way). It hit all the right spots. A buttery croissant, salty bacon, melty cheese, and the yolk from my fried egg just tied it all together. Service was top-notch: attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly without ever being intrusive. All around, this brunch was a winner! So glad we came here.

I found my food to be pretty good and my friends liked their orders. The wine selection is also very good. My order was pretty large though my friends' portions were smaller and I ended up being the only one eating as they finished and then the server grabbed their plates before I was finished. But what detracted overall from the experience was the ambience and service. Maybe because it was the weekend, but the restaurant is so loud you need to shout at each other. The cacophony of conversation, open kitchen, laughter, screeching and music just ruins it. The service is spotty. The gentleman bringing the food basically tosses it on the table and hopefully it slides to your place. Water is aggressively poured wherever the glass is even if they need to reach acrosss your face while you're speaking. Plus they grab your bread plate after appetizer even if there is bread on it and you want it. Apparently bread service is only for the first part of the meal. So food and drink was good, but overall experience was not. We decided we won't go back. BUT, it seems very popular so you will need to make that call. I suggest trying to get a table at the front of the restaurant.

I stopped by earlier during the tail end of HH to grab steak tartare & made a reservation for 7pm for my friends & I. I am unsure what the issue was with the female hostess today (likely under pressure from stress), but I do not think it is an excuse to be rude to customers. Additionally, when I returned back for my 7pm reservation, she told me "something happened" in the system & I would have to wait 45 mimutes. I asked was my reservation not in the system already since she rudely insisted that I make a reservation in advance. She said they were at capacity, but she still did not give a clear answer as to why my reservation was not in the system already. So I waited 45 minutes & an additional 5 to be seated. Upon being seated and set to finally place my order, I am being told that the oysters and the frozen cocktail are out for the day, at 8pm.... I had other friends coming far away thinking they would have the oysters & cocktail specials for National Oysters Day; one friend was coming 40 minutes away (from further out MD) & the other coming 26 minutes. Imagine if I wouldn't have contacted them immediately to let them know that the special we wanted ran out. They would have wasted their time coming far away for nothing. I am IMMENSELY & deeply disappointed in the rude service, lack of professionalism, and lack of communication with this establishment. I shouldn't have to wait until I am all seated to find out items ran out, especially for an "All Day" special. I waited an hour for absolutely nothing. I cleared my evening, thinking I would have a great time celebrating National Oysters Day, for nothing. Whole evening gone & time was wasted, left on an empty stomach. The restaurant was also nearly empty at 5 p.m. on a Friday, with only one other table occupied inside and a few people outside, which in hindsight may have been a warning sign. Beautiful room, decent service, deeply disappointing food. I would not return.

Wild to find out this used to be Baby Shank because I used to love that place too. It was such a cool surprise seeing how they transformed the space. Definitely feels like a hidden gem. The menu slaps -- the steak was amazing, the salads were fresh and full of flavor, and overall the food, ambiance, and live music made this a great experience. Already looking forward to coming back.

The musicians were lightly singing and playing the piano, allowing for us to chat and not have to strain to hear one another. The dinner menu is a great deal and we all ordered. You can select an app, entree, and dessert, which includes bottomless fries and salad (which is topped with the most delicious vinaigrette), for $45. They also have $10 martinis. I had the burrata, mussels, and we all opted for a different dessert so we could share. Everything was so delicious. We ordered a side of the baguette which was so crunchy, fresh, and hot. The butter was absolutely delicious, and every bite was spectacular. The carafes of wine were a great deal as well, coming in half a liter and a liter ($18/$34), with the wine tasting good. I will certainly be retuning for a future jazz night or potentially a night on their beautiful patio. Heads up--a reservation is recommended as it fills up quickly on Thursdays!
