Very happy about finding a food breakfast spot in this area! I got the avocado toast and 2 lattes and was very impressed. Avocado toast can go wrong in a lot of ways, and this one was good. It had chick peas on it which made it unique and the eggs were actually cooked to perfection. They have been open for 1 month so it wasn't too busy. Cool vibes inside with great service. read more

This is a great little spot for a diner, the ambience is top notch but there's a major gap between potential and execution, the food was okay, interesting and unique, i got the churro French toast which was a fun twist but was underwhelming taste wise. The service was fine, all the waitresses seemed to want to be anywhere else, and would disappear for 15-20 minutes, which working in food service will do that to you, so I can't blame them. I got a caramel latte and it was the strangest latte I've had in my entire life, being basically just milk and caramel, zero coffee taste at all, which for some people is a great thing, so take it how you will. My advice- skip any speciality coffees. Truly, this place has potential, and I think that with a stronger menu and higher quality ingredients read more

Great ambiance, I really dig the design and layout. Feels very American southwest diner with modern twists. A lot of room for improvement with service. I'm not sure if back of the house had assistance from our waitress or what, but we weren't checked on in the nearly 30 minutes from ordering food to receiving it. We definitely wanted more coffee to sip on. The pop tart pastry was saccharine, too sweet for both of us and we're both sweet tooths. No real guava or cheese flavor stood out, tasted very orangey? BLT was okay, fries it came with were good! Eggs Benedict was good except for the very salty birria. A composed bite with some of the cherry tomatoes made it palatable and just too salty. Without a composed bite it was basically all you tasted. It's newly opened, we want business like these to succeed so we'll surely be back to give them another chance! read more

Adorable dinner right by K Street, great food, great service. Stiveen was so friendly and fun and we had a delightful meal - definitely recommend the breakfast empanadas with flaky delicate crust and the wet breakfast burrito. Fun vibe too - Mexican ska was playing when we came in, the decor has a classic 50s/60s vibe with modern retro fixtures. I really wanted to like this place. Went this morning for breakfast and honestly left bummed as did my 3 friends I brought. I moved from Arizona a couple years back and the thought of having a diner with Latino food nearby sounded like a dream come true. I genuinely fear that this restaurant will not last if they can't fix the food. I want to see Rosa's succeed and if so you'll catch me here every Sunday morning guaranteed. Pros: Interior is extremely nice - nicely decorated and feels "home-y" Staff was nice Menu had variety Food looks visually fantastic Cons: All of the food was just missing something Breakfast burrito - tortilla wasn't toasted and just tasted like raw tortilla. The interior was mostly eggs with no seasoning and just felt bland. Chicken and Waffles - the Chicken was dry. Waffles were way too sweet and drenched in syrup. Churro French toast - way too sweet and somehow lacked flavor. Just tasted like caramelized sugar with no churro flavoring or pineapple butter. BLT-Bread was very hard. Coffee - out of stock for cold brew and horchata latte. Only had espresso and milk. Had iced latte but was basically just milk since brought out in a large glass. (Drinks were comped which was extremely nice). I want to emphasize that I'm writing this in hopes of seeing it fixed. I want to love Rosa's and I hope the staff take this as constructive. I've actually never written a review but am writing this as a critique to see a restaurant that deserves to stay around, succeed. read more

The food is amazingI had the eggs benedict they had birria in it. The decor its very beautiful, there is AC inside they also had seating outside. Now there is a lot to improve in terms of service, first my food took way to long to arrive about 45 minutes. Also I had no silver wear to eat or for my coffee. I only saw one of the workers doing most of the work and Staff that just walked by me and did not asked if I needed anything. I wish them to learn how to make this restaurant better as the food was very good! read more

Considering all aspects of the dining experience together, I can only give this restaurant a mediocre review. I've been to Rosa's Diner on 2 occasions: 1. for brunch and 2. for a quick dessert, just before closing. The location is very good, and the decor is very nice--although, the lighting is too intense, i.e., too bright. The service, although typically cheerful, was rather disjointed, and it took unusually long for the food to be served. The food was very good. One might, of course, say that this is what matters. True, yet dining is a multifaceted experience, not just a plate of food. The late evening dessert: we sat outside. The table was not very clean. The waiter never brought napkins. And there is a real rat problem. Our dog came face-to-face with one! We counted four. We ordered the skillet apple pie. It was tasty, although the crust lacked "backbone", was rather mushy. For what I found to be relatively small, I experienced sticker shock. I hadn't paid attention the price on the menu. $14 for the pie, $9 for a small scoop of ice cream. I want to see this restaurant succeed. It is a great addition to the neighbourhood. Restaurants succeed when, in addition to serving a great plate of food, they pay attention to all the other important experiential details. read more

I am thoroughly impressed with this little cafe. One doesn't expect much from restaurants attached to hotels, but Rosa's does not disappoint. Over the last week I've had breakfast, lunch or dinner on various days and have yet to be let down. The food is delicious, the cocktails are tasty, and the service does not disappoint. Everyone is friendly and professional- from the servers to the kitchen staff- but Stiveen really shines. He remembers his guests, their preferences, and is welcoming and kind with each visit. Every bite was amazing! Tried this new spot - convenient to my hotel - and was completely wowed by the amazing flavors! There are tons of options, but I decided to have breakfast for dinner ... turned out to be the most perfect eggs "Benedict" - which is actually a pupusa topped with tender beef birria & aji amarillo hollandaise ... not to mention the chicken & waffle with roasted pineapple butter. Wow! This Latin diner is like nothing I've tried before. After dinner we even caught the sunset upstairs at Lucha Rosa's rooftop. Can't wait to come back next time I'm in DC.
