Gosh, I have never experienced such AMAZING customer service! My boyfriend loved the etouffee and my favorite was the gumbo sample. The shrimp po'boy was DELICIOUS! I'll breakdown the flavors starting with the bread. That was some of the most soft and fresh baked bread that I've ever had. Not sure if it's baked at the location but the level of freshness was amazing. Next, have you ever experienced a flavor collision dish? That's when the right flavors are paired together and your taste buds spirals into a collision lol deliciousness overload!!!!! It started with the shrimps, which I only wished were fried a little more to prevent the batter from slipping off because of the moisture surrounding it. When I saw I could get shrimp etouffee in Union Market, I knew I had to try it. When we arrived at the stand, they asked if we wanted to sample anything. I sampled the etouffee and it was incredible so I ordered it with steamed shrimp. It had so much flavor, I could have licked the cup after. It had a bit of a kick, but I didn't find it too spicy. There's plenty of outdoor seating, some inside as well, plus a rooftop area. The customer service was great. The cashier offered us a sample, which I'm honestly grateful for because I was considering the shrimp and grits. After tasting the grits, I realized they weren't for me. I ordered through the DoorDash app & the cobblers came hot & ice cream was a little melted but not too bad & I was still able to enjoy it with my cobbler. The churros were also good but they were a little hard. I'm assuming we didn't get a fresh batch. My recommendation is to add another scoop of ice cream as the serving was small compared to the cobbler serving. Also if you want churros go in to order them. I took a suggestion from YELP! and decided to give this place a shot. I had really high hopes! My high hopes were exceeded when it came to the friendly customer service! But the food, unfortunately, surprised me. I was not warned about how spicy the gumbo would be.
