I ordered breakfast to-go from Ted's Bulletin, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The potatoes were drenched in oil and overloaded with salt to the point they were inedible. The salmon was also extremely greasy and overly salty. The only item I somewhat enjoyed was the French toast, although it was slightly cold. This is not my usual Ted's Bulletin location, and based on this experience, I won't be returning. I spent good money on breakfast and ended up throwing most of it away because the potatoes and salmon were simply too salty to eat. Very disappointing overall.
Visited Ted's for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I haven't been in years for breakfast. My partner was concerned about visiting this location as it lacks ambiance and quite frankly it's too small. But out of convenience we went. We were seated right away and ordered two latter with an extra shot and no foam. The two mugs came out filled with foam we both ordered the mark breakfast with the Ted tarts to go. Unfortunately our entrees came out with tart right on top ... which meant sprinkles everywhere. The hash browns weren't crispy and my eggs had quite a bit of what looked like oil. Overall it was a pretty disappointing visit. The other thing is the back room has an odor, my partner said that when I said we were going to this location and I thought "you're overreacting " ... was I wrong there is an odor in that back room.
We went to this restaurant for desserts as we were headed to a weeknight show at the miracle theater. We were seated quickly at a cute little table by the window. We ordered strawberry shortcake, carrot, cake, coffee, and Keylime pie. Everything was delicious. The service was quick, friendly and helpful. Could you ask for more?
Next-level avocado toast - minimal ingredients, thoughtfully composed for deftly balanced flavors. A dining hall with antique ceiling tiles, huge great lanterns, and architectural elements straight out of a noir film. Hot tea, served steeping in a teapot. Plus they have gluten-free toast which expands the gf offerings. As if that weren't enough, our server Bruno H. brought a complimentary baked sweet to us when he learned it was a special occasion. I definitely, most definitely recommend!
We went here for breakfast Valentine's Day weekend the morning after a concert and it was to die for! We've been to different Ted's locations a few times, but never when they had their cinnamon roll, so we had to try it. It literally was as big as my head and it was delicious! The rest of breakfast was phenomenal too. My wife got the pancake stack and I got the avocado toast to balance out the cinnamon roll lol. 10/10 recommend for a delicious breakfast on the weekend. It's nothing fancy, but the food tastes so good and the servers were on point!
I was looking for a quick coffee fix in the late afternoon and TBH - that's something that is lacking on this block. That's when I thought maybe I would check to see if Ted's offered coffee to go. It never really dawned on me as an option since I've typically only come here to sit and eat a meal. To my delight, they do serve coffee to go and the counter. I ordered a latte which was delicious and the person helping me was SO nice - literally sunshine in a bottle. Will definitely keep this as a coffee option in the future now!
We got so lucky by getting seated at the window booth and Tiffany took the best care of us! It was hard to decide what to order as it was a busy Saturday at noon and we beat the brunch crowd. Pretty soon after ordering, the restaurant was packed and the average wait was 45 minutes. I decided to to bold and ordered the chicken and biscuits. Unlike the photos I saw on Yelp, they now give you two chicken biscuits and hash browns. I asked for the hot honey on the side but it was liquid instead of thick. It was delicious but not as spicy as I had expected. The biscuits were superb! So thick and flaky, freshly baked. I wish I had some jam on the side. The fried chicken was solid but thin so a little dry. My spouse had the burger and he said it was amazing. The fries are great but some were a little too salty. What was mind blowing and the reason we came in the first place were the Ted's Tarts. I absolutely love pop tarts from child hood but no longer eat them because I know better but these were the tarts of my adulthood dreams. We ordered one of each flavor because we were flying back to CA later that evening and also, why not? The fillings were rich and ultra flavorful. The pastry was flaky and delicate. Just WOW! Also, it is in a super cute neighborhood and it has a coffee/alcohol bar. I mean, come on!
My family and my son's future in laws came here for brunch. The atmosphere was nostalgic and the service was fairly decent. The food was not too bad.
I am a Ted's Bulletin believer. The only knock on my visit this time is I waited 20 mins for a seat despite having a reservation. Anyway, I almost always have TUBS for brunch. It's so good and I never finish it because it's pretty hefty. My friends had chicken caesar wrap and chicken biscuit. They liked their food too and also didn't finish due to heft. The service is always quick re: food and drink. And prices are always reasonable. We each had a fun drink and a meal for about 30 dollars each. It's always quiet enough to talk across the table but not funeral level silence. You can never beat Ted's.
I would say the food here is that very typical American food that you know exactly what everything is going to taste like. Nothing particularly good, nothing particularly bad. My Mexican Street Corn salad was decent - slightly over dressed, very little steak, big portion. Service was great. Shoutout to our waitress Beauty! She was attentive and made my friend feel special on his birthday. Ambiance is definitely what you're paying for. It's a nice interior, typical of what you'd see in the city.
This was my second time at a Ted's Bulletin, but my first time at the Capitol Hill location. Parking was easy and located on the street when I went. You pay through an app. We made a reservation for a party of 5 for an early dinner and were seated right on time. We were seated at a nice large booth, which worked great for our party. It can get a little noisy, but it was not horrible. When we were there the TVs were playing the old fashion Willy Wonka. I was in love! We all ordered our food. I did order the lobster bisque, but the waiter came back and informed me they did not have enough lobster to make that happen. It was ok. I took that as a sign that it was not meant to be. Our food came out piping hot. Everything was delicious. My friend ordered tater tots with their burger. There was just a smattering of tots. I felt the amount was not worth the charge. There could have been more. There were no complaints about any of the meals. The desserts... don't skip! Our waiter was amazing. He was hustling and knew the menu very well. Our drinks were always full. The "poptarts" are so good. At one point we were able to see an employee make them and put glaze on them. Yes, glaze, delicious glaze. There is a few flavors. I tried the traditional strawberry and the peach and blueberry. My favorite is a nice traditional strawberry. It has fantastic sweet flavor and the glaze tops it off! Ok, and the sprinkles, the perfect touch! Adorable.
Came here for a burger after the Marine Corps Marathon. The staff was super friendly and agile. The vibe was super cool with the exposed kitchen. I ordered the French onion soup burger with gruyère cheese, red onions, french onion jus and house fries. When I tell you this hit the spot! I devoured every bite of this delicious burger. I was seated, only after I asked if the two unoccupied tables in the bar area were open, to which the hostess said yes and allowed me to sit, after she said there were no tables available. Upon sitting, I wasn't served water until more than 10 minutes after waiting around for a server to stop by. After receiving my meal, the meal was good. The pancake stack with chicken sausage, eggs and hash brown. The eggs had cheese, but i didn't ask for cheese. I ate them anyway. Other than that, I enjoyed the meal. The server never stopped by once I received my meal, only at the end to retrieve the plate, when I asked for the check and didn't receive it until after asking the manager I believe. All in all, for a place that is always busy (every time I've come) I would expect better service.

I ordered the pancake stack, which is the main reason I keep coming back. The pancakes are consistently delicious and come with eggs, hash browns, and your choice of meat. My meal included scrambled eggs (it was just one egg ), hash browns that needed a little seasoning, and bacon that looked undercooked for my taste. My waiter was friendly and attentive. When I mentioned that I prefer my bacon crispy, he was happy to take it back. It seemed like they simply put the same bacon back on the flat top, so it still wasn't quite what I was hoping for, but I appreciated his willingness to help. My friend ordered the fish and chips. The steak fries were really good, but the fish itself was just okay. Overall, I know every restaurant has an off day, and this experience won't keep me from coming back. The pancakes are still worth the visit. Next time, I'll be a little more specific about my preferences from the start. read more

My friend booked brunch at Ted's. I hadn't been in years. Breakfast all day is always good! On the Sunday after the 4th, we were seated right away. The service was quick - our food came out within 10 minutes after we ordered. I ordered two eggs make your mark plate. Instead of sour dough, I substituted a biscuit. What a lovely idea! First time at Ted's in a while. Awesome! Will return. We had a 5:45 reservation for 7 people. Arrived on time and were immediately seated. Service was excellent. From water and specials to milkshakes and the check, she was a++. I had the French onion burger. Great burger and a new flavor combo. My wife had the Cobb salad with fried chicken. I tried the chicken and it was delicious. All portions were supersized. For appetizers we had fried cheese, fried pickles, and loaded tots. All highly recommended. Milkshakes and chocolate cake for dessert. The cake slice was enormous. My strawberry milkshake was excellent. My daughter had the peanut butter, chocolate, banana shake which was a neat treat. This is a DC classic. I always love trying their seasonal poptarts. Great for a morning brunch, afternoon milkshake, or late night treat. The service is always friendly and helpful and the food and drinks are always good. I prefer sitting in the front room, either at the bar or by the window when with small groups, but there is larger seating in the main dining room. read more

Fun atmosphere and delicious food. Love the old-timey vibes with the black and white film playing in the main room. The highlights for me are the Branzino which was cooked to perfection and the perfectly crispy fried pickles. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the strawberry tart. I liked the key lime pie! Overall a great brunch place! Served all day and offers a wide variety. Highly recommend reservations, though they also take walk-ins. We waited for about an hour on Sunday morning for a table (for 3). We took the time to walk around Eastern Market since it was a nice spring day. Our food came quickly - Breakfast Burrito was loaded with both flank steak and chorizo. The sauce added heat so if you're heat sensitive, you may not love it. The scramble was customized to not have peppers and added broccoli - filling dish! The avocado toast is a favorite there with the radish, micro greens, and peppers adding texture and a little heat here and there. Not pictured is a sides of bacon 1 each side has 4 strips of bacon. I likely would ask for it to be more crispy next time but forgot. I don't know how we had room for a slice of their carrot cake but it came highly recommended. What sold us is that there weren't any raisins! It was a massive piece and three of us had it and still took 1/2 of it home. This place is a staple for brunch, but will always recommend reservations!! read more
This is a wonderful classic dc staple that everyone in the area needs to try out at least once. It's so much better than founding farmers and the Ted tarts are wonderful and classic. They have breakfast food all day. Because I came after 11am, I opted for their lunch food instead. I got the salmon, which was wonderful and my friends and the kids got various other dishes, including the burrito and grilled cheese. The service was quick and easy and the ambiance for this location isn't my favorite compared to the other Ted's bulletins. If you're in the area, definitely check this place out, even to just get the ted's tarts! read more

WHO: A girl who should have stayed in the house after falling in the snow. WHEN: January, in between snowstorms. WHY: I had cabin fever. I went to a social gathering the was taking place at Ted's Bulletin. Although there are quite a few around the DMV, this would be a first time visit. AMBIANCE: Restaurant was an average size although one of my friends remarked that another DC location was much more fancy. SERVICE: We had a great waiter. Very attentive and joked around with us a lot. FOOD: I love that it has all day breakfast and the menu seems to have a great variety but I wasn't wowed by my food. The drinks were incredibly watered down that a few of us had to send it back and request more alcohol. STRAWBERRY LEMONADE: vodka, lemon, strawberry, soda This was really good but it might as well have been a regular strawberry lemonade. It didn't seem like there was any vodka at all. I still enjoyed the drink but I would prefer to get what I paid for. DIET COKE: Seems strange to put this on here but it needed to be noted that the coke has little to no carbonation. CRAB CAKE BENEDICT: This was pretty good. Egg was perfectly poached and everything seasoned well but my least favorite thing on the plate were the hash browns. They were really overcooked and brought down the dish. OVERALL, everyone seemed to enjoy their food but we all agreed the drinks left a lot to be desired. Easily one of my favorite restaurants for brunch with friends and family. There's practically everything on the menu to meet your craving whether it's a Pancakes, Eggs Benedict, Chicken & Biscuits, Cheesy Grits, etc. I will say I wasn't a fan of the quality of the steak when ordering Steak & Eggs but I've loved everything else I've tried. Currently loving the Huevos Rancheros & Duck Confit Hash - both are a must try! Honestly can't go wrong with coming here for brunch! Service is always great and you won't be disappointed. read more
The usual great food and service during the meal (got huevos rancheros and s'mores pop tart and it did hit the spot, as did my iced coffee and my GF's latte!) was offset somewhat by the borderline rude treatment while waiting for our table today. I personally think if you get a reservation you should be seated either immediately or within 10-15 minutes. We were on a half hour + and I had the audacity, I guess, to check to see if our table was ready yet. I said "hey, just looking for an ETA since I had a reservation" and he chuckled "just looking for an ETA" like it was a ridiculous question. And multiple times said something like "you're not the only ones here / not the only ones waiting". Just thought it was pretty large amount of snarkiness for a basic question. I love Ted's but I don't think I'll come back to this one until they get the reservations working a bit better and treatment at the front improves. read more

This is our go-to spot to bring out of town guests, when we want to eat out but not super fancy, when we want breakfast for dinner or breakfast for lunch or breakfast for breakfast. I've never had anything I didn't like but the pancakes are my favorite! There are 4 so fair warning when ordering! They also come with 2 eggs and hash browns, and for extra you can add choice of meat and pancake toppings like fruit or chocolate chips mixed in! I've also had a selection of their coffees and their mocha is fantastic! They've got several seating options and a great streatery too! What's not to love!! The food was amazing! Service was great! The atmosphere is awesome! We went to see the Cherry Blossoms and went to Ted's via a recommendation from a co-worker. So glad we did! It felt less touristy and like we were chillin with the neighbors. There are a few locations. If you're in the Dc area, go! Very worth it! read more
