Atrium Cafe is a quick, grab and go option for breakfast and lunch. It serves many of the office buildings in the area, so they are adept at quickly serving the breakfast and lunch rush. They offer your traditional American breakfast and lunch items like breakfast sandwiches, bagels, breakfast burritos, deli sandwiches, wraps, salads, soup, etc.. I appreciate the showcasing of the carving station on the food assembly line. They also serve a variety of fresh fruit, pastries, and cafe drinks. The food isn't great, but it works as a quick lunch or breakfast if you work in the area or are visiting local museums / L'Enfant Plaza. The customer service is usually OK. There is ample seating in the dining room. Overall, an OK experience because of convenience.

Wonderful breakfast and lunch spot in the area and the go-to spot for sandwiches around here. They use fresh high quality ingredients that you can taste. You may be able to make the same sandwich at home, but it won't taste the same! Even the sauces seem to be store-made recipes, the honey mustard is not the typical honey mustard you get in the store. The meats they use are the star of the show- carved meats right in front of you all delicious but the fan favorite is the turkey. I enjoy the experience of making my custom sandwich here and am still perfecting my combination every time. Plenty of drinks to choose from in the fridges or off of the menu and all are quite affordable considering the prices of competitors in the area. Their salads are packed in big containers as well. I have not tried their breakfast but will definitely come back.

The omelette is good, breakfast platter is good. The best thing is the salad this place has. The picture doesn't really show but it is heavy. The portion is huge and clean. All the ladies there work together and efficient. Good place to get breakfast and it is super close to Hyatt and Marriott hotel, just walk to the corner and turn left. Super close by.

I have visited this cafe off and on for years. They are a clean competent lunch option, they handle huge lunch crowds of white collar workers in the area. So think clean and functional. The food is ok, Not special. I paid $18 for a chicken salad sandwich drink and cookie. The staff is professional not nice. Not a lot of smiles but they aren't rude.

So hungry & thirsty after walking 4 miles.

After walking 4 miles, we needed food and rest. This was the closest place - definitely not the cheapest. It was a little chaotic inside - canned drinks and prepackaged sandwiches on one side, and self service foods, including the grill and desserts on the other. We got the chicken fingers and fries, mac'n'cheese, and hot dog. Husband got a fountain drink for $4.95, and the only water without your own container was the Dasani in a can or the cup for $4.95. I got the latter. The food was decent. The chicken fingers and fries were hot enough. The hot dog was warm, and even though the mac'n'cheese was not hot, it WAS delicious. Instead of water? I got the pink lemonade, and added water to it to cut the sweetness. There is a water bottle fill station next to the water fountains. These are next to the fountain drinks. There are plenty of tables, and they are cleaned regularly. The utensils, cups, and trays are reusable. Meals are in cardboard sleeves, plates or bowls. The environment is taken into consideration for most of the food products.

    Turkey Sandwich on sourdough bread

We stayed at the citizenM hotel up the block and while searching for breakfast, I found this place. Highly recommended by workers in the neighborhood so we decided to try. You can tell a lot of important people or they work in important offices, come and have lunch there. We had lunch the first day and breakfast the next. Both were good. The turkey is so delicious! I had a sandwich on sourdough bread and my bf had the beef special wrap. That was good too. For breakfast, I appreciated that they had Turkey sausage and bacon options. I wanted another turkey sandwich but it was ready yet. So I enjoyed a turkey sausage with egg and cheese on a croissant & it was great. If I'm ever in town again, I'll def make a stop here.

We ordered peach pie matcha and an iced chai latte both with almond milk. When we got the matcha, it definitely was made with dairy milk. They were willing to remake quickly. The chai latte was alright. Felt watered down quite a bit so will likely try something different next time. A nice place to grab a coffee and catch up! The food others were enjoying looked fabulous!

While the shop looks amazing, the coffee was extremely basic. I ordered an iced latte and I could not taste the espresso. The cinnamon Kouign-amann was extremely dry, as was the chocolate chip cookie. When you tried to break the cookie in half it essentially exploded into crumbs. They do have a lot of seating, but there were many single people taking up 4-person tables so it was difficult to find a place for 4 of us to sit. The staff wasn't unpleasant, but they also were not very friendly. They did keep the line moving as fast as they could. Again, the shop is beautiful and bright. The branding on their bags is adorable. Their cutlery is wrapped and there is washi tape with their name on it holding it together. Their drinks and food are served on very nice dishes. I just wish that the coffee and pastries tasted as good as everything looks.

The restaurant is super cute, with a fun cafe vibe, and it's an easy walk from the waterfront. We ordered the Colada Trio, which came with empanadas, cauliflower sliders, and yuca fries. Everything was delicious, and it came with three different sauces that were honestly all so good. I could've eaten those sauces with everything. We also ordered the Platanachos (plantain nachos), which were flavorful and such a fun twist on traditional nachos. They accidentally forgot the cauliflower and mushroom topping, but as soon as I mentioned it, they brought it out right away along with extra sauce. Mistakes happen, but what matters is how a place handles them, and they were incredibly accommodating, which I really appreciated. It was pretty busy when we visited, and I noticed who I believe was the manager or owner helping clean tables and checking on guests. I always love seeing that kind of hands-on involvement. We were seated on the ground floor. The decor was exotic in a pleasant way and it looked like there were many seating or standing options. It was quiet in the early afternoon. We ordered the fries with aioli, I had the lamb tartare and my friend the lamb bolognese, and we both had pound cake for dessert. We both deeply enjoyed the taste and presentation of the dishes we ordered. The fries were hot and crispy and the aioli delicious -- I only wish there were more given the generous portion of fries. My tartare had the taste and texture of pate, despite the lamb chop exterior. Very clever. The aroma was just right. The cake was warm and moist with a crispy crust. My friend remarked that dishes of similar quality, taste, and presentation would cost triple in Manhattan. Regrettably, we were charged $12 for the $10 dessert. The waiter attributed it to a "computer error," but I've had to deal with overcharging by several of my favorite DC restaurants. Whether intentional or not, it left a bad taste in my mouth. Other cons: The menu is admittedly sketchy. My friend and I were unwilling to gamble on expensive and elaborate dishes. It sounds like the reviewers here did. Also, the restaurant is located in the heart of Capitol Hill, far from the metro. It's a long walk or you'll be looking for parking. Butterworth's is now my favorite restaurant in DC. I've been wanting to bring my family here for the longest time, but I've hesitated because I don't want to deal with the contempt of the host, the embarrassment of disputing false charges, and the pain of finding parking. I've been wanting to return solo for the longest time, but I've hesitated because the place is in the middle of nowhere, and I don't want to walk 25 minutes or pay $15 for a cab ride just to pay another $50 for a meal here, as wonderful as the experience might be. All that said, in terms of taste, presentation, ambiance, and price, Butterworth's left a strong and positive impression on me.
