Yum, here at Emmy French Corner you will find some really good baked goods and other desserts, including crepes. You can also get a couple different sub sandwiches. Coffee is available. When we arrived at around 11am on a Sunday, we were the only customers. But within a few minutes, the shop was filled with people. Service was friendly and responsive. Even though I didn't see brewed coffee on the menu, I did espy what I thought was a coffee maker. Still, I went ahead with an Americano. It was decent. I ordered a pistachio cookie. With dabs of white chocolate, it was excellent with a pronounced pistachio flavor. My niece ordered a hefty-sized strawberry croissant. It had a delicious filling. JP ordered the 3D Pomegranate dessert. It had a nice texture and light pleasant pomegranate flavor. There's several tables at Emmy's so you can enjoy your purchases here.

The place is cute, clean, and has a wide variety of pastries and coffees. I got an almond milk latte (not pictured) that was very good. The only thing I would improve is an addition of sugar free syrups to the coffee menu. I will definitely return.

Their dessert are really good. I got the Tarte Emmy: A buttery tart shell filled with airy pistachio mousse and a smooth raspberry crémeux. The perfect balance between the nutty richness of pistachio and the fruity tang of raspberry refined, fresh, and irresistible. It was delicious!! However their Chai would not recommend. Its not chai, its syrup and milk. Thats not true chai unfortunately. Always ask how they make the drinks just incase. Overall the service was fine and the ambiance is pretty.

Me and wife stopped here after brunch. We saw this place on TikTok and said next time we're in DC we have to try it. My wife said the vibe Inside is cozy and intimate. She ordered two mango's and Pistachio to go. Service was quick and decent. I took a picture as soon as she got in the car and we dug in. I can honestly say I've never had a dessert like that with so much texture and just good tastes Although this is a tasty treat it seems a little over priced to me

As we walked back to the U Street, 13th street, Metro, my niece spotted this restaurant and said it was a TikTok place :) Not as busy on a Friday night. Tiny sitting areas however. Nice, bright and clean. She got a mango and strawberry pastry (or something). Both items came to $28!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Mango was GOOOOOOOOOOOD, strawberry not so good All workers were pleasant

This is one of the cutest little French bakeries in DC. I just love the overall ambiance even though it's simple. I stopped by earlier today to try their viral cakes. I got the strawberry cake and it was ok. I expected it to be much sweeter and I wanted more cake. The service was nice and they were pretty quick, these pastries are pricey so be prepared for that. Clean, cute, and cozy. Perfect for a little date.

With Emmy, they are known for their fruit shaped desserts, and they excel at that. The mango dessert I had was whimsical, fun, and didn't compromise on flavor given the presentation. I wanted to try more fruits but they were sadly out of it. This is what they're known for and I'd suggest coming here for that. When I went, it was packed and crowded. I got the cheesecake which was one-dimensional and had a texture that was more like a sponge cake. I had a friend that also came here after me that said customer service for her was a bit lacking.

So, was influenced from TikTok to come here lolol. Came after work, so around 4:45 pm and thankfully they still had some strawberries. I'll have to come back earlier in the day to get a lemon. Anyway, the strawberry is $16. Is it worth $16? It's light and nice for summer and total social media aesthetic vibes. The strawberry is covered in white chocolate with a light strawberry moose and strawberry jam filling on top of a white cake. IDK if it's worth $16. IMO the cake was dry AF and my husband thinks it was pre-bought. Also, from being in a fridge all day it was slightly frozen inside. I am curious about there crepes, so if I'm ever on U st, I'll come back to try those. Service is definitely quick and I could tell they were busy when I came because none of the tables were cleared. Once I entered, I saw someone cleaning a table for us to sit, which was nice.

The pastries were amazing fresh and delicious, not too sweet and quality ingredients. The shop was really cute, with French music and all. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because the iced Chai I got was way too sweet. With less it would've been great.

Took a break from the cold in this cute corner cafe. You're greeted by the friendly staff and the sight of cute desserts. We took lots of pictures with Parisian style furniture. Ordered a chai latte and substituted milk with oat milk. It was warm and light, perfect for cold weather at night! We walked from a friend's place but there's paid street parking available.

Of course my 7 year old convinced me to go here to try their fruit deserts. It's a very nice corner pastry spot down on U Street. The ambiance gives very elegant and French vibes. The service was top tier. The workers there were so nice and helpful in helping us choose the deserts we wanted to try. We decided on strawberry, mango, lemon, and hazelnut. Me and my daughter were a big fan of the lemon and mango. We also tried the peach, dubai chocolate, & the pear which we weren't a big fan of but all of them are good you just gotta find your flavor

"Matcha" latte (with so little matcha, I just tasted milk.

I've been here twice. The first time, the cashier was very rude but I brushed it off because I was in a hurry. The second time, I was also in a hurry and ordered a matcha latte with regular milk, a pump of lavender syrup and a pump of caramel. Here's a picture of my "matcha latte." It was hot so I didn't try it until I made it to Malcom X Park, where I was meeting friends. Was disappointed to taste a lavender flavored coconut milk once it cooled down. I tasted no matcha or caramel and it wasn't made with whole milk as requested. I also had to double back after walking a few steps from the restaurant because the cashier didn't give me a coffee sleeve and it was VERY hot. WILL NOT BE COMING BACK! SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY! Also, there's a +$1 charge for each pump of syrup which is ridiculous, especially when they don't even add the syrup I asked for. Edit: I forgot to mention that the bathroom was really gross/ smelly and the toilet was clogged. Not sure this is fully their fault but worth noting.

I came here at around 9 am for some sweet treats and a breakfast. the inside is super cute, I really appreciated the theme and it made my dining experience quite pleasant. The staff were really friendly as well. My partner and I ordered the mango, strawberry, strawberry cream croissant, and dubai chocolate crepe. We knew what to expect price-wise, so despite the lack of pastry signage we were prepared for our final bill. The dubai chocolate crepe was probably the best thing we had, but it needed a lot more chocolate as most of it was just pistachio and pretty one-note. The strawberry cream croissant was good but not fresh and my partner commented the strawberries tasted frozen (I didn't really agree). The mango had a light mango flavor and was good but i wouldn't pay $12 for it. The strawberry was frozen in the middle, even after leaving it at room temperature for 15 minutes as recommended. I definitely would not be $12 for the fruits, but some of their other stuff (like the crepes) are worth a buy.

The ivy wrapping the entire exterior of the building is stunning -- it feels like the cafe grew right out of the earth itself. The garden is lush, intentional, and beautiful, and the grapevine patio pulls you in like you've stumbled onto a secret courtyard in the middle of the city. I rode the metro over an hour from Alexandria for this and the exterior alone told me the commute was worth it. The iced coffee delivered. The vibe inside is warm, neighborhood-cozy, and full of character. This place has a soul that most coffee shops spend years trying to manufacture. Four stars instead of five -- and here's my honest feedback with love. The outdoor seating is gorgeous but the trees overhead drop baby spiders constantly. I watched them land on my table, my drink, and my arm more times than I could count. The birds hopping onto tables scavenging for crumbs added to the chaos. For a patio this beautiful, the experience deserves better. The fix is already in the DNA of this place. Weaving lavender, peppermint, chrysanthemums, citronella grass, marigolds, and rosemary throughout the patio would naturally deter spiders and mosquitoes while making the garden even more breathtaking. The fragrance would become part of the experience. Big Bear Cafe is already special. The ivy, the garden, the coffee, the community energy -- it all works. A few intentional additions to the patio and this place is untouchable. I will absolutely be back.

I visited Bluestone around 4 PM in the afternoon, so it was a bit too late for coffee, but I love that they offer a wide selection of non-coffee drinks. I got their golden latte, which includes turmeric, almond milk, and a few other spices; it feels warm (both literally and figuratively) and is a lovely caffeine-free drink that helps me feel healthy as the weather gets colder. And to counterbalance any potential health benefits I might have gotten from the golden latte, I also got their chocolate chip cookie, which was massive -- almost the size of the plate they served it on. It was a solid cookie, slightly chewy but with a nice crust, although it was a bit lacking in chocolate chips. Bluestone is undoubtedly a rather pricey cafe, but I do love how quiet it is, so I'm sure I'll be making another visit the next time I need to be super productive.

To say, I am disappointed in my experience here is an understatement. I don't normally write review, however, I want to warn others before they waste their money. I went with a friend to support local businesses. We were excited because the reviews were pretty solid. However, once we ordered, we were greatly disappointed. I ordered a Matcha Latte and the servers simply poured milk into a dirty worn out cafeteria plastic cup and dumped matcha powder in it without stirring or blending or adding any flavor. The picture shown below is after I mixed the powder into the milk more. My friend ordered a caramel frappe (not pictured) and the drink lacked caramel. It was simply blended milk and ice. The making of our drinks did not reflect a "cafe" style nor experience. Moreover, the food was below lackluster. The Northern Capital sandwich looked amazing in theory; however, I received one small piece of chicken on a large hoagie roll drenched in mayo with 3 pieces of spinach and a slice of avocado. In my opinion, the portions definitely did not match the price of the sandwich. Furthermore, my friend ordered the Steak & Cheese which came without cheese. After this, my friend and I did not drink the Latte and Frappe. We ate a small portion of the sandwiches to give the restaurant a fair chance, but we were beyond disgusted with the drinks. Therefore, we asked for a refund or the server to re-make them. To which the server laughed in our face with a nasty attitude replying, "Absolutely not!" I absolutely hate to leave a 1-star review on a local restaurant, but I could not go on without warning others to avoid the "cafe" portion of this place if you value your money. Fortunately, we went to a local restaurant nearby afterward to cleanse our palette and thoroughly enjoyed the service and food. More importantly, the prices were comparable to this place but they provided much larger portions and great service.
