This is my go to place for home cooked breakfast. You don't have to wait long for your food or if you call ahead of time it's ready for you to pick it up. You can't dine in, you have to take your food to go. The staff is friendly, as I have been going here for years. The parking is street parking but it's not hard to find parking. I really like how quick I get my food. I always get pancakes, bacon, home fries, and eckridge sausage and it is amazing every time. If you want home cooked breakfast, come here.

My friend asked if I was hungry and he knows that I love breakfast food so he was like we'll stop here for breakfast. Upon walking up I was praying that the food was as good as the other Yelp reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The reviews didn't disappoint...my main meal option is french toast, cheese eggs and bacon w/ a fruit punch...it's so good, I can go meatless! My friend always opts for 2 turkey sausage with cheese sandwiches...he tears them up, lol I have tried their pancakes and was not impressed, so I'll stick with the French toast, but judge for yourself! I do wish they had salmon cakes though...maybe I'll suggest it the next time I'm there.

This is going to be one of those places that not too many people will go to because certain people may consider it to be in a "sketchy" area. I am still trying to figure out what that means as some people seem to lock up and are at a loss for words when I ask them to define what makes a neighborhood "sketchy". Anyway. I decided to try this place out one morning since it was only about five minutes from where I worked when my job took me to the Federal Center in Washington DC. It is actually one of a few places in this area that serves up really good food (Pimentos, Seafood Market Deli) in the Coral Hills/Penn Branch/Benning Ridge neighborhoods. I decided to go with takeout on this day. As I waited in the place looking at the menu you can either go with one of their numbered specials or choose your own combinations. I could tell that there were the usual locals in here as many people were coming in and the cashier was calling out their orders or just saying "the same" to them. I decide to go with one of their meals and added a side of scrapple to it. In the end I had eggs, a half smoke, French toast, home style potatoes, and scrapple. Yes, I am sure your arteries are hardening as mines were that day. Still it was so good. Even though I took it to go it was still warm once I got to my destination. There is always a heavy rotation of customers so so your food will always come out hot and just cooked. This place will not win any awards on presentation but what it lacks on appearance it makes up on that local neighborhood store good food and appeal. Prices are very reasonable and you can even pick up the newest movie releases from the lady in the corner. A good breakfast spot in this area of DC to try out. It is almost an experience in itself. Parking can be tight as it is all street parking in a mixture of houses and businesses.

My food was over priced for the quality I got. I went on 5/20/2022,The grits were good and the corned beef hash was ok. The fried potatoes had an off putting sweet taste, I don't know what it was but I couldn't eat it after 2 bites. I ordered the t-bone and it was grey, seemed like it was steamed and so thin. I've never had a steak like that. I told them I also couldn't eat eggs and if I could substitute the potatoes for the eggs. The man who took my order said yes. I also order a side of corned beef hash and when I go to pay the LADY at the front charged me extra for the corned beef stating I can only get one or the other with my meal. No matter what I said and told her to ask the man she wouldn't and I realized after I paid when I went to look at the menu to see why it was so high. She wouldn't give me my money back and continued to argue with me until I walked out! This places food is not worth it at all and here's a picture of my GREY STEAK SMFH! The texture of the steak was horrible and under seasoned and not seared at all, more like boiled or steamed!

I HAVE FOUND MY BREAKFAST SPOT! White Corner Restaurant has been around for about 28 years. This neighborhood gem serves up a nice selection of delicious breakfast and some lunch items (such as egg platters, omelette platters, hot cakes/french toasts, sides, sandwiches, and beverages), focusing on making most from scratch and in-house and offering a no-nonsense, tasty meal. The hubs and I came here for brunch, and we ordered: a Golden Brown Buttermilk plate with two eggs and sausage (the buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and tasty, definitely a nice golden brown, served with a nice pat of melted butter, and nice bottle of sweet syrup to squeeze to your heart's content; the eggs were the most delicious and the most fluffiest eggs ever - we chose the scrambled style, and it was so creamy and delicious, and I highly suggest in adding in the cheese!!!; the sausage links were super tasty - deliciously grilled and had a nice snap - YUM!); French Toast with two eggs and bacon (the French Toast were battered perfectly and wasn't overly sweet; came with a nice pat of melted butter and great with the syrup; the eggs, we opted for scrambled, and again, super delicious! Bacon was super crisp and yummy!); a side of home fries (made in-house, I usually like mine extra crispy, but these were definitely different than what I'm used to - it tasted like it was a mix with sweet potatoes - a little sweet and more of a healthier version!); and, a cup of their Fruit Punch (not too sweet and refreshing). There were counter seating and some booth seating, and you can even do carry-out orders. The place itself is small and is no frills and dive-y - LOVE IT! The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Jeon, are both super sweet and were really welcoming :D The place was totally hopping, and you can tell that this is a favorite among the locals. Can't wait to get my breakfast on again and again and again at White Corner - check this place out! You won't be disappointed :D :D :D +super delicious breakfasts :D +super sweet owners and staff :D +limited free street parking on Southern

They don't have typical bacon or sausage because "the owners don't eat pork" which really sounds like something more appropriate for their house, and not their restaurant business on Rhode island ave. The "chicken sausage" was a shriveled up piece of chicken paste that they cooked in the microwave. I ordered scrambled eggs, and when they came out, they had that crust that scrambled eggs get when they sit out after being cooked. The grits were lumpy and outside of the cheese sauce they put on the top - had no flavor. The French toast tasted like milk eggs and burnt grill. And the pancakes, were very obviously pre made and microwaved. Additionally - the meal I ordered is listed to come with a bread, eggs, a side and a meat. I asked for bacon, and was told the owners don't eat pork. I asked for the chicken sausage.. 5 minutes later the server asked me if I wanted the sausage spicy or not. Then when she brought the bill, there was a $4 up charge for spicy sausage that she neither told me, nor was it on the menu. And to make matters worse - the sausages were not spicy and were actually just flat out nasty. This is a SAD excuse for a restaurant. I'm sad that I spent calories walking there and dollars eating there.

We entered, admired the artwork around the room and were seated immediately to talk further what we liked about it. We were first greeted by our server Tess, who introduced herself & gave us menus. We searched a little, of course hawk-eyed other tables to see what others ordered... and Tess came back a few minutes later to take our drink orders. We got some waters, iced tea, lavender lemonades, and a mimosa flight for the table... but for a Sunday (what I would expect to be a busy day; a day of POST-prep) we received not 1 but 2 dirty glasses that we had to send back. Additionally, it took us over 20 minutes to get not one the flight but the simple nonalcoholic lavender lemonade to the table and was never told what the delay was about. The owner Tiess (I hope I spelled that right) did walk around with a smile, and to greet the table. All tables, and that is always appreciated and noticed by me. We did express to her our concerns and she did ensure us that we'd be taken care of. Tess grabs our orders and later our food comes out. I have been to Milk & Honey before in Bowie, and I say that because I don't remember their menu being so "busy". The grits and fried green tomatoes as an example of said "busy" items. Overall, the food was okay. Their potatoes were overcooked said 1-party, while as previously stated, another party said their grits and the fried green tomatoes were too busy. Not that it was good or bad, just... busy. Too much going on. I personally had the whiting and it was the star of the meal. My side of (plain ol) grits came out and I appreciated them being plain....they were just cold. So... 3 it is. Last few things : 1. Please note that there is a 1.5hour wait time. 2. There is a dj. 3. And the number one thing that ruined, the shrimp and grits for me was the amount of Parmesan it overloaded the plate that the smell was disturbing and made the texture of grits not to my liking. It's the kind of place that should be a reliable go-to for a group looking to catch sunset drinks before dinner. We made a reservation for eight, which turned out to be completely unnecessary given how empty it was when we arrived. After getting seated, 15 minutes passed without a single server coming by. Not a water drop, not an acknowledgment, nothing. A few of us eventually walked up to the host stand and asked if we could just order drinks at the bar while we caught the last of the sunset on the patio. Even that took far longer than it should have. This isn't a packed Friday night situation where you chalk it up to volume. The place was largely empty. The bar was slow regardless. We made it back to the table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came by to offer water or take drink orders. At that point, we looked at the limited snack menu, decided dinner was happening elsewhere, and let the host know we were leaving. The one server who did eventually stop by apologized and volunteered that the bar was just slow to get drinks out. At least someone said it out loud. The number of empty tables confirmed that plenty of other people had already figured this out on their own. The setting here is genuinely good. The views are real, the space is well-designed, and there's no reason this shouldn't work. But the service infrastructure clearly can't support even a moderately sized group on a slow night, which is a significant problem for a place marketing itself as an events and reservations venue. You can't charge Navy Yard prices and run a bar that moves at this pace. Wouldn't go back unless something has visibly changed.

We were originally drawn in because we were excited to try their homemade Pop-Tart! Accommodating & Kind: Our waiter was a very nice gentleman. The kitchen was more than happy to make small adjustments to our orders for dietary needs, which we deeply appreciated. Kudos to the Staff: The waitstaff does a phenomenal job, especially considering the clientele. This area tends to attract a lot of pompous professionals, and we witnessed customers being incredibly rude to the staff on two back-to-back visits. A Note on the Crowd: For example, we were in on a Thursday afternoon and watched a large group of business professionals completely ignore their server. They wouldn't even acknowledge them or say thank you. It felt like olden times, where the staff were treated like servants to a king or queen and were just expected to take abuse. It was really bad. A Quick Note on the Checkout Process Rushed Payment: The payment process felt a bit rushed. The server hands you a small payment machine and quickly pushes you to complete the transaction right then and there. Keep an Eye Out: We aren't the type of people to scrutinize a bill closely--if it's right around the expected amount, we don't worry about it. However, the lady at the table right before us was loudly complaining about a service fee on her bill, and she ended up not leaving a tip at all because of it. Combined with how fast they push the payment machine on you, it might be worth taking a quick second to look over your total if you are the type of person who likes to verify the fine print. Come on people, do better! Overall Impression It is an expensive spot, but the food quality, cleanliness, and excellent service from the waitstaff make it worth a visit. The staff handles a tough crowd beautifully!

However, the peppercorn "sauce" wasnt it... it was literally loaded with peppercorn as you can see in the picture. Overloaded.... With peppercorn which was burnt and made the meat bitter. Nice environment overall and calamari appetizer was on point.
