This is my go to place for home cooked breakfast. You don't have to wait long for your food or if you call ahead of time it's ready for you to pick it up. You can't dine in, you have to take your food to go. The staff is friendly, as I have been going here for years. The parking is street parking but it's not hard to find parking. I really like how quick I get my food. I always get pancakes, bacon, home fries, and eckridge sausage and it is amazing every time. If you want home cooked breakfast, come here.

My friend asked if I was hungry and he knows that I love breakfast food so he was like we'll stop here for breakfast. Upon walking up I was praying that the food was as good as the other Yelp reviews and was pleasantly surprised. The reviews didn't disappoint...my main meal option is french toast, cheese eggs and bacon w/ a fruit punch...it's so good, I can go meatless! My friend always opts for 2 turkey sausage with cheese sandwiches...he tears them up, lol I have tried their pancakes and was not impressed, so I'll stick with the French toast, but judge for yourself! I do wish they had salmon cakes though...maybe I'll suggest it the next time I'm there.

This is going to be one of those places that not too many people will go to because certain people may consider it to be in a "sketchy" area. I am still trying to figure out what that means as some people seem to lock up and are at a loss for words when I ask them to define what makes a neighborhood "sketchy". Anyway. I decided to try this place out one morning since it was only about five minutes from where I worked when my job took me to the Federal Center in Washington DC. It is actually one of a few places in this area that serves up really good food (Pimentos, Seafood Market Deli) in the Coral Hills/Penn Branch/Benning Ridge neighborhoods. I decided to go with takeout on this day. As I waited in the place looking at the menu you can either go with one of their numbered specials or choose your own combinations. I could tell that there were the usual locals in here as many people were coming in and the cashier was calling out their orders or just saying "the same" to them. I decide to go with one of their meals and added a side of scrapple to it. In the end I had eggs, a half smoke, French toast, home style potatoes, and scrapple. Yes, I am sure your arteries are hardening as mines were that day. Still it was so good. Even though I took it to go it was still warm once I got to my destination. There is always a heavy rotation of customers so so your food will always come out hot and just cooked. This place will not win any awards on presentation but what it lacks on appearance it makes up on that local neighborhood store good food and appeal. Prices are very reasonable and you can even pick up the newest movie releases from the lady in the corner. A good breakfast spot in this area of DC to try out. It is almost an experience in itself. Parking can be tight as it is all street parking in a mixture of houses and businesses.

T-bone steak that's grey, steamed and not seasoned. It's so thin and nasty the texture is off

My food was over priced for the quality I got. I went on 5/20/2022,The grits were good and the corned beef hash was ok. The fried potatoes had an off putting sweet taste, I don't know what it was but I couldn't eat it after 2 bites. I ordered the t-bone and it was grey, seemed like it was steamed and so thin. I've never had a steak like that. I told them I also couldn't eat eggs and if I could substitute the potatoes for the eggs. The man who took my order said yes. I also order a side of corned beef hash and when I go to pay the LADY at the front charged me extra for the corned beef stating I can only get one or the other with my meal. No matter what I said and told her to ask the man she wouldn't and I realized after I paid when I went to look at the menu to see why it was so high. She wouldn't give me my money back and continued to argue with me until I walked out! This places food is not worth it at all and here's a picture of my GREY STEAK SMFH! The texture of the steak was horrible and under seasoned and not seared at all, more like boiled or steamed!

I HAVE FOUND MY BREAKFAST SPOT! White Corner Restaurant has been around for about 28 years. This neighborhood gem serves up a nice selection of delicious breakfast and some lunch items (such as egg platters, omelette platters, hot cakes/french toasts, sides, sandwiches, and beverages), focusing on making most from scratch and in-house and offering a no-nonsense, tasty meal. The hubs and I came here for brunch, and we ordered: a Golden Brown Buttermilk plate with two eggs and sausage (the buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and tasty, definitely a nice golden brown, served with a nice pat of melted butter, and nice bottle of sweet syrup to squeeze to your heart's content; the eggs were the most delicious and the most fluffiest eggs ever - we chose the scrambled style, and it was so creamy and delicious, and I highly suggest in adding in the cheese!!!; the sausage links were super tasty - deliciously grilled and had a nice snap - YUM!); French Toast with two eggs and bacon (the French Toast were battered perfectly and wasn't overly sweet; came with a nice pat of melted butter and great with the syrup; the eggs, we opted for scrambled, and again, super delicious! Bacon was super crisp and yummy!); a side of home fries (made in-house, I usually like mine extra crispy, but these were definitely different than what I'm used to - it tasted like it was a mix with sweet potatoes - a little sweet and more of a healthier version!); and, a cup of their Fruit Punch (not too sweet and refreshing). There were counter seating and some booth seating, and you can even do carry-out orders. The place itself is small and is no frills and dive-y - LOVE IT! The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Jeon, are both super sweet and were really welcoming :D The place was totally hopping, and you can tell that this is a favorite among the locals. Can't wait to get my breakfast on again and again and again at White Corner - check this place out! You won't be disappointed :D :D :D +super delicious breakfasts :D +super sweet owners and staff :D +limited free street parking on Southern

A solid hole in the wall type of breakfast spot. Food is always warm and good. Could use some salt, but maybe that is personal preference.

We were quickly seated and approached by our waitress who also-served as the bartender that afternoon. Because she was genuinely pleasant it made our dining experience inviting. The menu ranged from breakfast biscuits, fried green tomatoes, avocado, toast, etc. so it was hard to determine what to eat, because it was a tossup between cheesecake pancakes and the Biscoff chicken and waffles. Guess who won! With the other combination of soup sandwiches desserts inside you can never go wrong here at milk and honey. This is definitely a land of Milk and Honey! My wife and I ordered the honey glazed biscuits for an appetizers they were warm and buttery. The jam was a nice addition. Tasted like apple sauce. For an entree I ordered the shrimp and grits along with a biscoff waffle. My wife ordered the honey old bay wings along with a side of Mac and cheese. The shrimp and grits were much bigger than I expected. They give a good size portion of sausage and shrimp and the grits were seasoned well. I enjoyed this meal. I also ordered the biscoff waffle. It was ok to me but full of biscoff for sure. I could do without the soft sauce/fudge that was placed on the waffle. I forgot to take a picture. It was cool but not for me. My wife enjoyed her wings and Mac and cheese. Overall I'd come back as I enjoyed my experience here even with a large party of 20. On a Saturday night this place was far from busy. The food came out fairly quick and was hot. The service was nice which I loved.

I ordered the shrimp and grits. My friend ordered the breakfast plate. Each came out to the table and I was honestly disappointed. I didn't know what to expect with the flavors. And the number one thing that ruined, the shrimp and grits for me was the amount of Parmesan it overloaded the plate that the smell was disturbing and made the texture of grits not to my liking. There were also only three shrimps in the entire dish just very underwhelming. Also, I was not happy with the freshly squeeze orange juice. It's not good at all. In my opinion overall, I will rate them at five out of 10.

From the outside, it has that classic, full-fledged American diner look and once you walk in, it absolutely delivers on that vibe. The place is clean, welcoming, and has a really nice atmosphere. As soon as we entered, the greeter was friendly and quickly got us seated in a booth. The staff overall was very welcoming and attentive throughout our visit, which made the experience even better. The menu has a ton of options, so there's something for everyone. For our meal, we ordered the French toast and the shrimp and grits, and for an appetizer, we tried the spinach rolls which were honestly fantastic and a standout item. Everything we had was flavorful and satisfying. There was a small mix-up with my drink, I ordered orange juice but received apple juice instead but it wasn't a big deal, and everything else came out great. The diner also offers a variety of beverages, including alcoholic options, coffee, hot chocolate, and more, though we stuck with breakfast drinks this time. Pricing can be a bit on the higher side depending on what you order. For two people, our breakfast came out to around $68, but considering the quality of the food, service, and overall experience, it felt worth it. Overall, we had a great time and really enjoyed our breakfast here. Between the atmosphere, the food, and the friendly staff, I'd definitely come back again. 4 out of 5 stars!

We hit it twice during a recent trip: once for breakfast, and once for dinner. Both times, the menu range stopped us in our tracks. This isn't a laminated-two-pager situation. There's real variety here, and it's executed with a level of care that genuinely surprised me. Portion sizes are exactly where they should be (not the grotesque American overload, not the pretentious undersell) and the flavors are consistently on point. The one exception: my other half felt her breakfast potatoes were a little flat, with bland seasoning and a texture that wasn't quite there. A minor thing, but worth noting because everything else around it cleared a higher bar. For breakfast, the coffee was ok, though I suspect ours had been sitting too long. Not a dealbreaker, but a place this dialed-in should probably be more attentive to that detail. Value is where Silver Diner arguably embarrasses its competition. The price-to-quality ratio is legitimately hard to explain. Where else do you get this kind of menu variety, this level of execution, and walk out without wincing at the bill? Whoever runs this chain is paying attention to the details and clearly cares about making an impression, and it shows in almost every aspect of the operation, including a noticeably clean dining room. That said, the staff was somewhat of a letdown. They're efficient, sure, but warm they are not. The payment handoff in particular felt oddly transactional...they simply extended the payment device across the table. It's a small thing that lands wrong when the rest of the experience is so clearly intentional. I find it hard to square how much attention goes into the food and environment, and how little seems to go into making guests feel like the staff actually wants to be there. All in all, if Silver Diner ever opens in the Pacific Northwest, I'll be in line before the doors open, and I suspect half of the Seattle area would join me. Go. Absolutely worth your time if you want some low-priced quality, casual food.
