This was my first and final visit to the Largo location! The service and server were notably slow! She did not exhibit attentiveness, warmth, or punctuality. The restaurant's windows were not clean, the glass entrance was unkempt, and the silverware was not spotless. I ordered the sesame salmon bowl, which was disappointingly dry and the avocado dip was more reminiscent of cucumber. Couldn't Find Much to Love - Applebee's in Largo I stopped by this Applebee's looking for a casual spot to sit at the bar, grab some dinner, have a beer, and maybe meet a few people. Unfortunately, I didn't find much redeeming about this visit. The biggest issue for me was cleanliness. I can understand a place being a little dated, but I can't understand a place feeling dirty. The bar area wasn't wiped down, and the overall atmosphere didn't feel fresh or well cared for. I ordered a cheeseburger, which should be hard to mess up, but it just wasn't perfect. I couldn't even finish it. The food overall was disappointing. There were people around the bar to talk with, but it didn't feel like a comfortable, welcoming scene for me. Extremely Disappointing Experience I just left this Applebee's location in Largo after an incredibly frustrating experience. Upon arrival, the hostess told us she had a table for eight, but it was clearly only suitable for five. When we pointed this out and asked if we could use the adjacent table to accommodate our group, she refused, stating that the server didn't want to handle two tables--even though we were all on one check. That reasoning made absolutely no sense. We asked to speak with the manager, who said we could use the additional table--but only after a 30-minute wait. Since we were celebrating a graduation, we agreed and waited patiently. However, an hour passed with no one even offering us a drink. Meanwhile, other guests were being seated and served all around us. Even they began to notice how we were being ignored. The hostess was rude, and the server's attitude was equally unpleasant. After being ignored for so long, we decided to call LongHorn Steakhouse just around the corner. They offered call-ahead seating and had us at a table within 25 minutes--with far better service. If I could give this Applebee's in Largo a negative 10 stars, I absolutely would. Horrible experience. Came here on Sunday night with wifey and a few friends from work, and our server Miana C. made it clear from jump street that we were not going to have a good night. She was "tired" and made us feel like we were an inconvenience anytime we asked for anything, from napkins to ordering additional food/drink items. She never asked us if we needed a drink refill, not even once. Anytime we flagged her down, she made us feel like she was being put upon.. God forbid we ask our server, whose whole purpose for being employed there, for assistance with our meal. This is the vibe we got, all night. I work in customer service, and i was appalled by her blatant "IDGAF" attitude, which would most definitely get me fired at my workplace.....The drinks were watered down, albeit cheap, so it is what it is. The food was decent, however good luck getting additional portions of the all you can eat chicken/ribs/shrimp in a timely fashion. We were there for about 2 hours and barely managed 3 plates, with each plate giving a larger portion of fries and less and less of the protein. Wifey asked for second portion of shrimp and literally got 3 tiny fried shrimp on her plate with a heap of fries. The cherry on top of the evening, it felt like they turned the heat up in the place as a "wink wink time to gtfo" because it got incredibly hot/muggy in the place. However for two days straight i experienced subpar customer service from bartender 'Rashad' he seemed too bothered to take an order be polite and even put a napkin under my husband and i drinks. The location in ... I guess it's considered Upper Marlboro, MD was great! I was little apprehensive at first in going to this location based on previous reviews on Yelp. However I went with a friend and he said he frequents there often and had no issues. I now concur. The service was quick, staff pleasant and food delicious. What more could you ask for? One thing I did notice the staff were all seasoned employees - meaning they were a mature age group. Not saying that the younger generation cannot provide exceptional service, but now days it's far and in between. I'll go back to this location. read more

I recently dined here at Applebees in Largo yesterday April 20th while I had some downtime and had a very unpleasant experience due to the rude behavior of a server. I was sitting at the bar and she placed two piles of dirty dishes in front of me so I politely asked was there anywhere else you could have put those dishes and she was extremely dismissive . She rolled her eyes and mumbled something unintelligible as she walked to the kitchen and yelled to the manager " someone needs to go and talk to this B**** at the bar ".I requested to speak to the manager in which he came but nothing seemed to have gotten resolved . I was unable to get the young lady's name but someone mentioned her grandmother was a server there as well . We had friends from out of town visiting and they like Applebees. The menu had lunch specials that were $7.99 & $8.99. Hubby liked the steak. The French onion soup was not "Capital Grille" worthy but it was decent. The bill for seven people was around $80. Our server was nice, but not that attentive. There were only two other tables with customers. We could have been checked on more often. We weren't in a hurry so the slower service wasn't impacting our schedule. You essentially already know what you are going to get as far as food is concerned at most Applebee's but this one took the cake in the service department. In our two stay at this establishment, it took an hour for us to get eating utensils, the margarita I ordered the waitress kept coming and saying that someone at the bar took my margarita to the point where I didn't get my first drink until almost the two hour mark. I asked for the waitress to get the manager, it took several requests for the manager to actually come out, when she finally did she eventually brought me my first drink. There was one they were giving me on the house due to how abysmal the service was and that took another 30 minutes for them to bring out. The people across from us said they had a similar dining experience which is unfortunate because some of these employees feel that if you complain about this sort of poor service that you are the issue and that's something we have to stop in the black community, poor service is poor service. If they were being evaluated that day they likely would have either shut that restaurant down or they would have fired the entire staff and brought people who kept customer service first and foremost. read more

When I first walked in my party was ignored, the waitress Jessica failed to put in half the tables orders in but brought the bills out. She didn't bring us menus or utensils. When she finally came to get our orders she'd start walking away without us finish talking .The manager Rory came over and didn't even care about what was going on and carried on with facial antics while I was explaining my frustration. The service here is horrific. It was so bad, it's not even funny. I came with four of my friends and we were here for two hours and ended up waiting for our food that ENTIRE time. The food was good, I'll give them that but we waited forever. It's to the point where we are all about to download yelp and write reviews. It took the servers 30-45+ minutes to do everything we asked for, even the to-go boxes and the water. I am so disappointed this place is not a good place. I literally love Applebees! They have the best food and drinks and they are so reasonable on the pricing. However, at this location, I didn't even get to enjoy the food or drinks. So, my husband and I came here for dinner, this location is so convenient for us, so we thought we would give them a try. We walk in and you can see how busy the place is, so we knew there would be a wait. After putting our name down, the hostess told us our table was ready. We only waited about ten minutes, so that wasn't bad. However, once we got to our table it just went down hill. We sat down and had menus and silver ware. 5 minutes goes by, 10 minutes goes by, 20 minutes goes by and we were just over it. Mind you while we are sitting there waiting on whoever our server was, multiple servers walked by. You could clearly see we hadn't been greeted yet because we didn't even have water to drink. Now I am a previous server at Applebees, one in Florida, and I know we were always taught team work. Even if its not your table and you see people have been waiting, at least greet them and get them something to drink until we can figure out whose table that is. But nope! Not one server walked by and said hello or offered to get us a drink or anything. So we just got up and left. Though this is my first time checking in and leaving a review, I have been to this place a few times and it's always been a hit or miss. This time was pretty satisfying as far as the food goes. The service could have honestly been better. Especially, considering the fact that it was midday and far from crowded. I ordered one of the new bowls. I must say that it was delicious. The southwest lime grilled chicken was the one I chose and I was pleased. It was filling and flavorful.
