Chicken and cheese panini. I substitute the ciabatta for whole wheat bread.

Olive Express is my go to favorite lunch spot since I work in Reston. My usual is the chicken and cheese panini and I can tell you it is the most delicious panini I have ever tasted! I use Uber Eats to order my lunch and the service is always prompt and the panini arrives hot. I highly recommend this as a great and healthy lunch spot in the Reston area.

I've been here three times in the last two weeks because it's close to work and their food and prices are super reasonable! Their falafel platter and sandwich is fantastic! I can't get over the falafels tho because it perfection. You'll just have to try it for yourself. The chicken shawarma is decent and they have a wide variety of salads and sandwiches. The workers are friendly and the service is good but not as fast as I'd like for lunch. Can't blame them tho because they're packed during lunch hour but all their food is ready to go so you can take it back to your desk or eat in the restaurant that has a few tables and couches. This is a great restaurant for lunch especially if you're in the area!

See those 2 tiny slivers of avocado? That's $0.75 extra.

I usually like their sandwiches but this just makes me mad. I got the turkey and cheese panini with added avocado. This whole sandwich cost $7.16, tax included. This cost way too much!!

Everything below still applies but I feel so reliant on Olive Express now and I love the service here especially!! Such a comfortable and cozy place.

    Chicken gyro plate!

I really enjoy this place. I order from here once a week for lunch, and I am always impressed with the consistency. The hummus is actually very tasty, and the Gyro is decent. I am a fan of the Gyro plate instead. I get the falafel appetizer every time, and really this could be a meal by itself since it comes with pita. The meat in the dish is always very tender. I have tried the Chicken Currry Kabob which is very tasty. I prefer the Mixed Grill Kabob because it comes with all three meats (chicken, steak, and ground beef). That is my go to dish actually. That is served with seasoned rice. I have not tried the pita's but my co-worker seems to like them. I am not a fan of the regular Gyro or the Turkey club sandwhich. Overall, this is a really good go to place for lunch. Quality food, with great prices. I will be back.

If you're into Mediterranean food you have to try Olive Express. The food is authentic, fresh, and best of all tasty. I definitely recommend getting one of the platters; comes w/ the right amount of portions to keep you full without weighing you down. This isn't the type of place that you would go to have a fancy meal, it's more like a Mediterranean deli and you can order pickup/delivery. This is my new go to when grabbing lunch during the work week! The location is tough tough to find, see my picture for the description.

I've ordered from Olive Express about 4 times and have considered their food "ok". This is an option for Friday lunch at my school and it's always a treat to have something different to end the week. Today I ordered the buffalo chicken salad with blue cheese for $10. When I received my lunch I was shocked at the size. For $10 I expected more salad and for the lettuce to be edible. Unfortunately, much of the lettuce had to be thrown out and the ranch (that I didn't order) it was sour tasting. I won't be ordering from here again.

Taste of Istanbul was a delightful experience. I ordered the combination kebab platter to sample a bit of everything, and not a single item disappointed. The real standout was the chicken, it was cooked to perfection, incredibly juicy, tender, and full of flavor. Even the rice exceeded expectations, as it was well-seasoned and genuinely delicious rather than just a side dish. The service was attentive, with the staff offering thoughtful recommendations and ensuring we had everything we asked for. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, and the outdoor seating makes it an especially enjoyable spot when the weather is nice. The mixed mezze platter was another highlight, offering generous portions that were easily enough to share among a few friends. The bread was fresh, warm, and crisp. It's also worth noting that they're open until midnight on Sundays, making Taste of Istanbul a fantastic option for a satisfying late-night meal.

I tried this place out for lunch on a rare outing without my wife and when the craving for cart style meat over rice struck. The restaurant was completely empty during peak lunch hours, which did not bode well. I nonetheless proceeded and ordered a combo chicken/lamb platter over rice to go. Shah's sauces are solid, and I appreciate that the white sauce is not gloppy or sweet like some other competitors' and that the red sauce is appropriately piquant. They also offer a mild but flavorful green sauce which adds some fresh notes. Those sauces are needed as the chicken, lamb, and rice are unremarkable. The chicken possessed a decent flavor from a spiced marinade, though the pieces ran a little dry. The lamb cubes tasted like generic gyro and carried little flavor besides salt. The rice itself lacked the fluffy yet al dente texture seen at the best halal places. The proteins did not taste fresh and were served from a steam table rather than off the griddle. Still, the overall eating experience felt reasonably enjoyable due to the flavor of the sauces carrying the weight of the platter. The guy who took and assembled my order was very nice, though forgot to include pita bread in my order. I paid about $13 for the meal, and the portion was generous. As such, Shah's is a competent but unremarkable halal platter spot. I would not go out of my way to eat here, but if it's the closest place to you for this type of food it's a fine option.

Ordering is quick and easy through the iPad, and I went with the Beef Perfect Bowl over rice. The portion alone impressed me. It came piled high with grilled beef, fresh greens, rice, and even an egg roll, making it feel like a complete meal rather than just a rice bowl. The beef was flavorful, the vegetables added a nice freshness, and while I'm trying to cut back on carbs, I have to admit the sticky rice soaked up all the savory sauce and was hard to stop eating. The only thing I would do differently next time is ask for jalapeños or another spicy topping. I like my food with a little more heat, and I think that extra kick would have taken the bowl to the next level. There are a handful of tables if you want to eat there, but I grabbed mine to go. Hidden gem is an overused phrase, but in this case it actually fits. Generous portions, solid flavors, and reasonable prices for this day and age.

I'm a local customer and live just a minute away, so I've visited more than once. I came in for lunch today with my wife and our 1.5-year-old son. After placing our order and sitting down, the server loudly yelled from behind the counter for us to come get our water. It felt uncomfortable and unprofessional, especially with a young child. When I placed my order, I asked for extra white sauce, and I asked again when the food came out. Both times, the request was ignored. I also mentioned that we hadn't received our drinks, but instead of addressing it, the server again yelled for us to get the drinks ourselves from the cooler. The food itself was okay, but the bread was very poor--hard and barely edible. I even called the restaurant later in the evening to share my concerns, but was told the server was off at that time. Overall, very disappointing experience, mainly due to the customer service. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to improvement.
