Whenever my husband and I come back from a road trip, we almost always order Reston Kabob. The food is consistently good and a generous portion, so much so that you can easily get 2-3 meals out of the salad. From my experience, I would recommend ordering in person because they lost our online order one time and, if you order online, you can't choose your own combinations of kabobs and/or proteins (I personally like ordering the falafel and gyros). Food Ordered: * worth trying - [Salad*]: I usually like to order the salad base. Out of the kabobs and proteins I've tried, I would recommend the beef kobeeda, falafel, and gyros proteins. I have also tried the veggie kabob, which isn't bad, but not as good as the aforementioned proteins, considering it's only grilled vegetables. I liked the flavor of the chickpeas but I prefer a more melt-in-your-mouth texture in my chickpeas like the ones at Charcoal Kabob. The chickpeas at Reston Kabob were a smidge gritty. Also, I have to highlight the sauces that come with the meal; both the green sauce and the white sauce have the perfect amount of acidity with the green sauce being bright and herbaceous and the white sauce being creamy and not too yogurt forward. My husband and I really like the white sauce here, so much so that we bought a bottle of it recently haha. - [Samosa*]: I don't think I've ever had a bad samosa and this tastes like your typical samosa. - [Baklava]: I tried the one with pistachios and the one with walnuts. Comparatively, I liked the one with walnuts more because the pistachios tasted a bit off to me and the pistachio flavor was a lot stronger versus the milder flavor of the walnuts. The only reason I'm hesitant to recommend it is because I thought it was soaked in too much syrup, making it a bit too sweet for my preference. As a heads up, each order of baklava comes with four small pieces. Would I go back?: Most definitely! Reston Kabob is a tried and true restaurant in my book and is in our rotation of restaurant options when we're in the mood for takeout. read more

I had really mixed feelings about my experience here. I went during lunch time and the food took a really long time to be prepared. I figured this could be a good thing if at least it means the food would be served hot. When the food finally arrived, I didn't have any issues while eating the food. I thought the overall flavor was decent. Within an hour or so, my cousin and I experienced an upset stomach and didn't feel well for at least 24 hours. Spent $80 on dinner for 3 delivered via DoorDash. When it arrived, 1 of the 3 meals was missing. I called Reston Kabob and spoke with a woman who insisted she put the third meal in the bag. The same bag which was so full with the food that /was/ delivered that it could barely be tied closed. She blamed the missing food on the DD driver. I have my doubts. I ended up spending $11 for DD delivery, $4 tip for the DD driver, only to have to drive to the restaurant myself and pick up 1/3 of my order. I'll never trust delivery from Reston Kabob again. Or DoorDash. On the up-side, my gyro dinner was good. My wife's salmon was less so. There's a fair chance I won't be going back anytime soon. read more

Went on a weekend and did not have a good experience. The food was not made fresh... the grill was off and they put the food in an oven/microwave to reheat. As a result it was soggy when I made it home to eat it. To top it off there was no cashier so I had to place the order via an iPad. It rubbed me the wrong way that they asked for a tip! We were celebrating a family birthday. Reston Kabob did a fabulous job. We were feeding a load of people with a variety of tastes. So, we ordered chicken kabobs, beef kabobs, and gyro meat. We also bought two different kinds of rice, salad, roasted chick peas in curry sauce, and pita bread. There was enough food to feed an army. The chicken and beef kabobs were tasty and delicious. There were tender with grill marks and had that delicious grilled flavor. I kept eating and loving the food. The salad was fresh, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, Greek olives, and a tangy dressing. It was refreshing. The chick peas in curry sauce are a personal favorite. I don't know what they put in that curry sauce, but it is fabulous. The Jasmine rice was cooked perfectly and the pita bread was fresh and tasty. I highly recommend Reston Kabobs for a family dinner or big birthday party. They did a great job and were really nice to work with. read more

Dropped by today to pickup lunch. You order at a kiosk. It took 25 minutes to get my order. The lady packing up the orders couldn't be bothered to put her phone down. This slowed her down and she had a backlog of orders besides mine. Nothing complicated, but I imagine it's hard to pack orders when you are holding a phone to your ear. She wasn't taking phone orders, was obviously talking to a friend. The food was ok. I don't think I'll be back though. read more

Great service and great food! We had the falafel platter and the gyro wrap. Both were excellent but it was the sides that surprised us. The dipping sauces were terrific as was the bread. The beans were perhaps the best ever. Writing this makes me want to go back today. read more

Came here around 1pm on a Sunday for lunch. Was not impressed. The floors and tables were not cleaned, there were crumbs, grease, and trash all over the place. Couldn't find a clean table anywhere. We ordered the chicken and lamb combination platter ($19). The lamb was tough. For a kabob place, the food was only lightly spiced. However, the rice and the sauces on the side were pretty good, and so was the bread. I would not recommend the lamb. Probably would not visit this place again. This review is based on take out of two chicken kebob platters which came with rice, salad, bread and a side of chick peas. All top notch- chicken was moist, chickpeas flavorful and the bread was still steaming when we got it. The rice was fine - a little dry imo but everything else was so good that we knew it wasn't meant to be the star. The spinach side was creamy and 100% spinach which I loved. Ordered on their website and said it would take 20m. Went there on time and waited another 5. There were about 6 people waiting. Even after 10-15 years, Reston Kabob has not yet found a way to make bread that doesn't toughen instantaneously. For me, the wrap is the best item on the menu and plenty big for two. Platters are also great for sharing, but the salad is inedible. At least with the wrap, you get chickpeas on the side...even if they are lacking in spice profile. RK's meat is always cooked perfectly, I will give them that! But the bread and sides just aren't as good as Sheesh Grill in a Chantilly, where you can enjoy all three elements. read more

There is plenty of seating inside, although we were the only people who seemed to be there to eat dine in versus takeout. I ordered the veggie samosa and the ground beef platter (Beef kobeeda). The Veggie samosa was nice and crispy, and the inside was very fluffy. The Beef kobeeda was also good when combined with the white and green sauce. The salad and chick peas however were subpar at best. The salad felt like it was straight out of a bag, and the chick peas weren't very flavorful. Overall, getting Reston Kabob was a great choice for lunch. It was nice and filling. First of all you take your life in your hands when you park in the parking lot behind the restaurant. There is a long ramp back to the street with no area walkways. Good luck. We had never been here before and ordered the chicken kabab platter which comes with rice, salad, and one side (chickpeas). Right after we paid we decided to change it to a combo platter with a skewer of lamb. I paid the additional cost and immediately realized we were overcharged. The combo was $6 more but I paid $10. She explained that since we already paid there was nothing she could do about it. As far as the food, the chicken was pretty good but not great. The lamb kebab which we paid an extra $10 for was grilled to shoe leather. It was well seasoned but couldn't be chewed. My wife spit it out. The rice was fine as was the chickpeas. The salad had no dressing and looked like the dregs from the bag. The bread wasn't edible. The sauces were fine. We might have tried it again without the lamb. However, we will not frequent a place that takes advantage of you. There were no other people when we got there. There were a few when we left. My advice, go the Charcoal Kebab in Herndon or Moby Dick. read more

Ordered pick-up from here for the first time. From previous images it appears this restaurant underwent location and renovation changes, but will be reviewing based on August 2020 updates. Rating is between a 3.5/4 I called because there website seems to be down and only knew what was on the menu based on other Yelper's menu photos. So it would be best if they updated that. After ordering, I was informed it would be ready in 15 minutes and the inside of the restaurant was closed off due to COVID. Chose the following options: Kobeeda & Chicken Platter - $16.99 Gyro Platter - $11.99 Each platter came with two sauces, chickpeas and a large piece of bread. Did not get a chance to photograph it, but the Kobeeda & Chicken Platter had a sizeable portion of both - filling for two adults with some leftover. The chicken was quite moist, but the kobeeda was a tad dry. The Gyro Platter as shown (with the sides) had a large amount of meat. It was a little too salty for my liking, so it goes better when eaten with the bread to balance it out. The chickpeas and the salad were fine, very similar to other places. Generally, the service and proteins portions were good. The sides were solid, but did not particularly stand out. They are generous with the bread size. And after getting a copy of the menu, ordering here is easy to understand and straight forward. When picking-up, it might be good to ask for more sauce. Overall it's a solid place to grab some kabobs in the Dulles area. read more

I'm so glad this place re-opened. I really missed their awesome white sauce! The new place is pretty big and very clean. The parking is kind of odd though. You have to drive past the restaurant through a tunnel and then you can park in the few spots on the street, in the garage, or park further away in a lot. I got the chicken kabob platter and everything was delicious. I would recommend eating the naan there as it gets hard pretty quickly. If you are driving north on Reston Parkway you can actually get to the parking garage via the "private driveway" close to the entrance to the toll road. The might save you some time. You can't exit that way though. read more

I didn't eat here for a while (maybe it's been a couple years?) but I remember enjoying this restaurant. I ordered take out this time and was underwhelmed. The portions were much smaller than I remembered, although the food tasted pretty good. We ordered the salmon platter (very few pieces of salmon), beef platter, and curry platter. All come with salad, rice, bread, chickpeas, and 2 types of sauces (white and green). I love the green sauce! The curry platter comes with a creamed spinach type curry, and a potato one. Both were decent. Overall, the food isn't bad but I do feel like you can get a better bang for your buck at other kabob establishments. read more

The chicken kebab wrap was delicious and worth the price. There were perfectly grilled and spiced pieces of chicken and lots of them. Pretty good kebabs for sure but I am taking one star off because I absolutely did not like the beef kebabs. They tasted a little bit gamey and they were way too chewy and they also were kind of cold - not warm. However I loved the chicken kebabs and I found them to be very tender, they could've been a little bit juicier but that's OK they were still good. The rice that they serve is pretty good and I like that you get brown and white rice. The chickpeas are delicious as well as the spinach which is so fresh and cooked really well. I love the bread that they give! It is so soft and fluffy. The hummus was also incredibly smooth and you can tell that it is homemade. Good takeout spot. read more
