A quiet, hidden-in-plain-sight neighborhood staple that has been around for quite some time, it is easy to pass by this place and never set foot in its doors. If you are a fan of Italian food, however, it is worth a try. While the taste and execution are not necessarily the best, they are decent enough to generalize a 2 to 3 star rating across the board for quite a number of offerings. Myself, I have had the meatball and chicken parmesan subs, as well as several different entrees on different visits (various pastas and chicken dishes); as well as their side salads, fries, and breads. I will say that the fries and breads are, generally, the most passable; and the other items are largely redeemed by their heft and value, especially when their Uber Eats promotions are active. The restaurant would likely benefit from truncating their menu and focusing on quality. Likewise, seeking to modernize in concept as well as offerings and ambiance may prove fruitful. Reducing portion sizes and focusing on premium, fresh ingredients may likely be beneficial. While it is impossible to tell from the outside, the space is actually very large on the inside. I am certain reducing or repurposing the space may not only bolster operations and customer experience, but efficiency. Lastly, offering trendy items such as very thin, crispy pizzas may help bolster business. I voice the last recommendation as it has always been empty or close to empty whenever I have visited (many times). While I generally encourage support and empathy for local businesses, I have to openly share that this business has reciprocated my repeat patronage with acrimonious passive aggressiveness. As someone committed to unbiased commentary and analysis in general, all the more so in my writings which I publish online, I wish to reiterate that I am not exaggerating nor offering any semblance of partiality, inference, or spin, by any account, and toward either myself or the business. I merely voice factual occurrences, and elucidate the context to the best of my ability. With that said, upon my last visit, an individual who is always there-- who I surmise to be a manager, given his frequency and salience of presence-- made a lot of underhanded and indirect remarks at my expense. The seeming basis for his ire is that as I often utilize coupons to reduce my payment obligation whenever I visit; to wit he disparagingly kept referring to me as "[the guy] who wants everything for free." As I strived to ignore him, he continued making remarks and trying to look at me and occasionally turn to me to gauge my response. He even proceeded to ask if I desired to physically fight his companions, and if I think I could win against them (he was seated with 3 others in a booth when I had walked in). With an open bottle of alcohol at his table and appearing to have indulged, in speech as well as movement and demeanor, I further sought to minimize our interaction. One of his colleagues who was manning the takeout counter clearly felt awkward by this situation, as did his seated companions. This individual was in work attire and bounced between hanging out with his companions at their booth, and working alongside his colleague at the counter; so the observation that he may have not been on duty is not applicable. At no point did I goad, entertain, initiate, nor further his attempts at a challenge. This conduct reflects entirely on him; and, consequently, the business. To rebuke someone unprovoked in general is befuddling; much less a customer, let alone a repeat one. I understand business is hard, but being confrontational in one's place of business, all the more when they merely elect to utilize offers extended by said business is all the more inappropriate. While I will refrain from more directed commentary which would illuminate my true judgment toward such matter, it should be known that this is the type of relationship that you may be extended if you frequent this establishment. For reference, I never received anything for free nor remotely close to free; and simply utilized the coupons, extended by Cantina D'Italia, promoted and listed on Uber Eats, for express and sole purchase at Cantina D'Italia, within the terms and limits provided. If business is not desired if coupons and offers are utilized, perhaps they should either be discontinued or further truncated. If a business wishes to assert and allege that any unethical or ungainly behavior ensued, it is incumbent upon them to identify, observe, report, and rectify said issue. I say all this in case anyone seeks to counter what was said above. Peace and Godspeed to the business, and other patrons. I won't be returning.

Went here for lunch with the family. Very good food with an extensive menu. The service was excellent.

TLDR: if you're looking for a local spot with a wide variety of options and good pasta this is it. This is my second favorite place for pasta! I love how many dishes there are to choose from, but yes the other reviews about the service being slow is true. But it's because they're understaffed, so we were patient and I'm glad we were! The server themselves are nice and did their best, I even think the owner came out to help. Back to the food: we ordered braised lamb, fettuccine Mediterranean, and a bottle of Cab Sauv. Everything came out perfect! The lamb literally fell off the bone, and the seafood wasn't over cooked. The wine we picked was also amazing (despite me ordering fettuccine). The pasta itself was good too, not too dense and not over/under cooked. The ambiance was good for a date night or just having dinner with friends. Besides the serving time everything was great! I'd give this place 3.5 stars

Ok imagine salmon on this instead of shrimp, and imagine a clear lemon garlic sauce..

Yesterday I got the Friday ice cream delivered to me from my brother-in-law... good friends of jasons Godsend... Today I had to check out some of the food. I got the salmon pasta dish. #Amazing.. Jason the owner is the sweetest. Thanks J for being so nice

Veal Sorrentina

Very nice place to have a team lunch. I had the Veal Sorrentina as the main course with the Tiramisu as the dessert, it also comes with a salad with a vinaigrette. The food was really good and it was a nice cozy environment for a group of about 15 to enjoy some time together. Our server was attentive and was able to refill our drinks promptly, get us extra bread, and got our food out in a pretty timely manner. Definitely recommend coming here for lunch as you won't normally run into the dinner rush, but you'll get the same amazing food and might even get most of the place to yourself.

First time here and we thoroughly enjoyed the food but it has never been just about the food. The service was quick and efficient but the server was just not very pleasant, perhaps just having a bad day. He was very unprofessional and seemed to not enjoy his job. Hopefully just having a bad day but did not leave a good impression so most likely will not return. The food was good though.

Managers special! Half Tortellini Tricolore and the Salsisscia Napoletana!

It reminds me a little bit of Vapianos, esp with the open kitchen concept. We went for mothers day. The lady could not find my reservation. i had to show her. but something is wrong with their system because this happened to a friend of mine back in February as well. They ran out of ranch and N/A prosseco. It is okay bc the food was good. We ordered the fried zucca chips. OVERLY SALTED. did not enjoy. The burrata was delicious. I would get that again. The chicken parmesan was delicious. but it was odd it came with mac and cheese ziti or some kind of cheese sauce. Usually you serve chicken parm with spaghetti and sauce? The Bolognese was delicious and same with the chicken pesto. My sister got a arugula steak salad. The steak was really rare and they didnt even ask how she wanted it cooked. the little gem caesar was good but it had way too much dressing. way too much. the dessert was delicious. butter cake was amazing! Drinks: Cocktails were really good but OVERPRICED. $16-$17 dollars for a non fancy italian spot is wild. Ciao Bella was delicious though. I would probably come here again but it is overpriced.

This was number one on the list when I searched best restaurants in Reston and it did not disappoint! Cocktails : Manhattan - top notch My sweet side piece - fun presentation with table side bubbles! Feels a bit like a fall drink. Warm spice. Very tasty and too easy to drink fast lol Apps: We got the baked shrimp and the beef carpaccio. Both outstanding and so flavorful. Just needed some bread to soak up the sauce in the baked shrimp. The lemon rind in the shrimp was a perfect compliment to the sauce and the carpaccio was perfectly seasoned and the thinnest slices I have ever had which made it delicate and delicious. Entrees: We got the sea bass and the short rib bolognese. Blown away by how good both of these were and so very different. The short rib bolognese had a rich but not heavy flavor with fresh pasta and a delightful velvety spiciness - not heat though. The sea bass was crispy on the outside and perfectly cooked with a carrot ginger puree that was sublime with the spinach and fish. We loved both of these entrees. Really wanted dessert but sadly not more room which was better for our stomachs and our wallets. It's not a cheap endeavor here but worth the cost for a fabulous meal out and a very cool vibe.

It was much appreciated. As for the food it was hit and miss. Our husbands had the short rib raviolis and-although it was flavorful, there was not enough meat inside the raviolis nor were there enough raviolis to justify the price tag. Since the sauce was extremely flavorful I forced my husband to share some of the skimpy sauce to dip my pizza crust on it. Luckily the guys had enough of the wonderful fried mozzarella and bread to not be grumpy. One tip that our whole party agreed on was that the sauce was better suited if it was paired with chunks of lobsters instead of of the stuffed short rib raviolis. I was happy with size of my thin crust pizza and it was way more than I could eat. However, I am not sure if I was actually ok with how the ingredients were divided jn the quarter a fourth of the pizza contained olives ,another fourth was the mushrooms, ,another fourth was the prosciutto and for the life of me I could not remember the fourth ingredient. I'm still ponedering whether I am a fan of this. My friend had the Marguerite pizza and she was extremely satisfied with it. As to the place itself, it's nothing fancy, it's just your typical pizza place in a strip mall. It's just ok. One thing I noticed about it is the dim lighting, but to be fair it's a normal complaint for most eating establishments. We all had to break out our IPhone flashlights to read the menu. I wish most eateries would have a dimmer switch by your table so that when you are ordering, there is sufficient lighting as you read the menu and when done can be adjusted to mood lighting. I noticed most of the upper forties and up patrons did the same thing as us when ordering.

This was a business dinner and when we first entered I was amazed at how big and beautiful it was inside. The bar area was large, oval, and really upscale and nice! They also offer valet here, which is helpful given the area, it's tough to find parking! Our server was great! She offered many good options, offered up very helpful insight, and did a great job keeping an eye on our table. Their wine list is large, with so much to choose from, whether Italian or New World - They have a nice selection of bottles! They even have their own label (not sure who makes it) which I tried and it was decent, but we opted for something else. It was tough to select a salad, an appetizer, and an entrée, as we wanted to be able to eat everything and there was so much to choose from which looked so very appealing on the menu. I started with their arugula salad and it was excellent! Such a simplistic salad like this has to be made with fresh greens and this definitely met that mark! I did ask for a side of balsamic to drizzle a tiny bit in - but it really didn't need it. Dinner consisted of their braised short rib - AMAZING! So very tender and flavorful... YUMMM!!!! A nice balance of flavors, sweet and savory in this dish. Their pasta menu looked so very nice that I wanted a pasta too, so prior to the mains, I split their smoked chicken pasta with a colleague and that dish was crazy - so smokey and flavorful! The pasta was spot-on al dente too! Definitely a rich dish, creamy, flavorful, and very powerful - but tasty! We were all too full for dessert, so a couple of us just chose some Sambuca to sip as we ended the dinner and that was great, served perfectly chilled with the coffee beans. Highly recommend giving them a try, I'll most definitely return!

However, we were disappointed by the strict policy regarding outside wine. We were prepared to pay a corkage fee so we could enjoy a bottle we had brought for the occasion, but the manager explained that it was a firm policy set by the owner and could not be overridden. While we understand the need for policies, a bit more flexibility for special occasions would have gone a long way. Overall, the experience and food were very good, but policies like this can impact repeat business. Parking nearby is somewhat of a walk. Alternatively, valet parking is available at the nearby JW Marriott, which may be more convenient. I think the restaurant may have its own valet parking although I did not see it being offered the day we came.

Our server made amazing recommendations and checked in frequently enough that we didn't feel forgotten or overwhelmed. Food came out piping hot, and silverware was replaced for each course. For the appetizer I would have to say that the octopus was my absolute favorite! The Char on the octopus mixed with the variety of flavors made it robust and so delicious! I highly recommend the octopus over any other appetizer at this point! The zucchini blossoms were perfectly fried and absolutely delicious. They were perfectly stuffed not to overwhelm, but to perfectly embrace the delicate nature of the blossom. For my entrée, I ordered the veal Ragu with peperdelle noodles. It was absolutely delicious and big enough that I had it for lunch. The next day is leftovers. They boxed the meal very nicely to go bag. The sauce was thick and perfectly balanced with a lot of flavor. The noodles were perfectly cooked and weren't sticky or overly chewy. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious! It was so moist and so light that I didn't feel overly stuffed when I left. We actually debated getting dessert because we were so full, but decided to go for it and I'm so happy that we did. During our dinner service someone had a birthday and we brought a dessert. Not only did they encourage everyone to sing, but they also brought out a beautiful dessert that had happy birthday written and some kind of cocoa or coffee powder. You can tell that thoughtfulness was put into every meal and effort was placed to make everything just perfect. I absolutely love the atmosphere of this restaurant. We watch the sunset over small old town Herndon and it felt very quaint. The old school setting of the restaurant mixed with that atmosphere was rather romantic and calming. He seemed to know a lot of the customers which makes it feel homey. They gave complimentary bread which came with butter, olive oil, balsamic, and other fixings. The bread was super soft on the inside and had a nice crunch from the exterior. My boyfriend and I ordered the calamari, scaloppini mare terra, fettuccini con funghi, and fettuccini al frutti di mare. In simple terms: calamari, a seafood vodka pasta, fettuccini alfredo w mushroom, and veal with lobster bits served with green beans and scalloped potatoes. Surprisingly, I didn't love the calamari. It had a good size but lacked flavor. It also could have been cooked a tad bit more for better color and texture. The fettuccini alfredo was super creamy and had such a strong mushroom taste! The veal was nice but a bit chewy for my liking. The scalloped potatoes were good but nothing special. However the star of the show was the seafood vodka pasta! It had such an amazing vodka flavor with loads of seafood! I have to admit, they put way too many calamari pieces and not enough of the other items mentioned in the dish. Another thing was that I found a strand of hair on my plate. When I notified the server, he said it was just from the green beans but would exchange it for me. Later, he explained that the "hair" was green bean skin.. which was odd to me considering the hair was turning black to white. I didn't appreciate him trying to make an excuse. I decided to look past it even though the server didn't apologize. Good first experience (other than the piece of hair). The seafood vodka pasta is def a must-have.
