Emailed them for a quote as I was preparing to move, the owner replied with a rate that I didn't want to pay(4 hr min only covers 3 hrs of work, $170/hr for least amount of workers) so I said no thanks, to which he replied: "We are professional movers, what did you expect? You want a cheap mover, you can find them on Craigs List or I even can help you with one of our employees who does small moves on the side. Recently used Randall Moving and Storage for my move to law school. Originally it was planned to be a short move but it turned out to be a long cross country move. The movers were excellent in packing up my one bedroom apartment. They were on time, quick, and very thorough in wrapping up fragile items and furniture. The whole process was very smooth, including my interaction with Susan in the front office who helped me with logistics. Although Randall didn't move me across the country they were very helpful in finding someone who would and helping me move my belongings out of their warehouse and into a new truck. One of their men helped the new movers even though he had no obligation to. Randall was hit/miss for me. A hit because of the movers themselves, I had two different teams because I moved, stored my goods in they're warehouse for about 2.5 months and just had it delivered to my new home today. Both crews were great, two men a piece, very knowledgeable and helpful. They didn't take an inventory but I had packed most of my items before hand so I knew what was what. All they had to do was load it on their truck and take it away. They took my bed apart (and put it back together), took the tv and mount off the wall (did not put that back as not to be responsible (understandable). The office customer service was not great, the owner Randall was helpful but the lady in the office was less than. They have a four hour min which I knew I wouldn't reach so I tried to barter with them but was not successful. I asked to be invoiced for the storage. Didn't get an invoice at first and they just charged the card I paid the movers with without my permission. I called them on that and they apologized and emailed me an invoice. My items arrived in the condition they were packed except a shelf was chipped which was no biggie because it was cheap anyway. I only gave them a three for the guys that actually did the work, Thanks Clarence and Leon, Benny and the other young man for taking care of my things. read more

The gentlemen who moved our belongings were wonderful. They were friendly, professional, and hardworking. My issue with Randall is all of the surprise charges. There were many costs that were not relayed to us up front- $75 fee to get our crates down so our cross country movers can pick them up. Like so many others, my wife and I are deeply grateful to Randall. Having just retired from a thirty-year career in the U.S. Foreign Service (Department of State), we have moved around the world and the U.S. more than twenty times; while we have more often than not had excellent packers/movers/storers, none have ever surpassed, or even equalled Randall. Sue walked us through the whole and exceedingly complex packing/moving/storage process from day one. She and her amazing retinue of movers regularly went far beyond the call of duty, so much so that the four-and-a-half star Yelp average actually undervalues Randall. Randall simply made our challenging, often traumatic, downsizing and move as easy as it possibly could be. Every Randall mover was a gem -- honest, hardworking, and extraordinarily congenial. They packed out our large colonial house in Bethesda in one day, stored all our belongings for the past year, then yesterday helped us once again further downsize and prepare for the move to Naples, FL. Yesterday morning, when we arrived at the Randall warehouse, Sue had lined up all four of our crates on the warehouse floor, set tables in front of each on which we could work and sort, and had in place two wonderful movers who did all of the lifting and repackaging for us. We, thus, accomplished what we had long dreaded and expected to be several days of sorting and down-sizing into just a single day, with the Randall men doing all of the heavy lifting. They then drove us to a consignment store where we dropped off unneeded furniture, to Goodwill to drop off lots of old clothes, furniture and bric-a-brac, and finally they took care of the discarded remnants, saving us so much wear and tear. Sue will now ship our remaining to crates to Naples, FL. (she found us a good and very reasonably-priced mover), and, voila, we are finished with this most challenging and traumatic of all our moves. It would be virtually impossible to find any moving and storage company to surpass -- or even equal -- Randall in service, professionalism and integrity. I called Randall on fairly short notice -- 2 weeks prior to our desired move date. Unlike the other companies we contacted, they were willing to accommodate without gouging us on pricing. The cost was very competitive and reasonable, for both packing and moving services. Our crew of Nate, Clarence and Hector (both parts of the job, which was nice) was super experienced, courteous and efficient. They were on time both days and took great care of our belongings. When unloading at our new home, they put everything exactly where we wanted it and reassembled anything that had to be taken apart. We won't be moving again anytime soon (as moving is second only to death, IMO), but we'll be recommending Randall to anyone who asks. Not good. They showed up over an hour and a half late, and did not communicate at all. I called over and over, with no answer. We got a late start, then when the furniture got to our new apartment a couple of miles away, my kitchen cart was broken. Tilted and wobbly. It was a gift, practically brand new, only a few months old -- and they tried to blame the cart, saying it was probably cheap Ikea or if it was old or already broken. Nope, not at all. That was rude - just admit you broke it, and offer to help fix it or pay for it. Also they kept something of mine on the truck, certainly by accident, but it took a few weeks for it to be returned. Worst offenses were the lack of taking responsibility for breaking my things, and making us wait over an hour and a half, without any notice. I won't use them again. read more

Horrible movers! They completely destroyed our $1,200 king sized bed. When we called them to tell them what happened they could not have been more rude to us! They never called us back so we had to buy a new bed frame. I have moved alot recently - three times this year alone and these are definitely some of the best professional movers I've had. I highly recommend them. They were extremely professional, very prompt (came exactly when they said they would, no phone calls needed on my part), moved everything in a timely manner and nothing was broken or even scratched. I hired Randall Movers to help load my U-Haul truck for an out of state move and I am so thankful I did. I had a fantastic crew of four gentlemen that were on-time, professional, friendly, and efficient. Bill worked the truck and did a masterful job packing all my possessions onto the truck and made the best possible use of space. He was a wizard and everything arrived securely and safely. Xavier helped me prepare things headed to the truck and even helped take apart furniture. Elliott was also running things back and forth and was very, very helpful. If you are looking for movers that offer a great price and a quality careful move then I highly recommend Randall. I did due diligence preparing for my move and obtained 3 quotes. Price wasn't actually at the top of my list; I wanted to speak to someone as well as look at reviews. Randall only had a few Yelp reviews but that didn't mean much because not everyone uses Yelp and some OTHER moving companies spend their time trying to get top reviews. One mover reviewed that the company had berated them over a negative or not 5 star review. Randall answered the phone, responded to emails quickly and had a quote for my within minutes. I had a 3rd floor walk up move to a 4th floor walk up move, the stairs were a bear. One mover justified a high quote saying they needed to send 3 guys because of "fatigue" and I didn't want my stuff broken if they got fatigued having 2. Well BS... Randy sent me 2 guys that not only performed the move in the estimated amount of time they didn't "get fatigued" or need a 3rd man. They smiled and joked and were extremely professional. They wrapped everything and didn't damage or so much as dent a box. My great grandmothers rickety old writing desk was handled with care and made it through another move. So in closing please don't hire one of the movers listed here because they have 100+ reviews, or 95% all 5 star reviews. Randall charged me a very fair price and did an excellent job. They don't have a hundred reviews on here but that shouldn't be considered as the only criteria. If you use Randall Movers you will not be disappointed in any aspect of your move. Had 2 large armoires to move and then tables. If you want tables and small pieces of furniture moved, this is your mover. The men they sent out, two, were extremely pleasant to me. When it came to moving one armoire just from the driveway through the garage and into the basement, it was curse city. Never heard someone curse so freely around customers. Then, the second armoire to move up to the third floor. WOW. The littler of the two guys hurt his hand and there were very colorful expletives all the way up the stairs including "goddamn piece of giant ass furniture" or something similar. They didn't tape the doors on the armoires so the door swung open and gouged my landing at the base twice. There are two gouges on the opposite wall. There is a large window in the landing where the armoire fell against it---the widow had very expensive blinds that were pushed in the the lining on the window to keep down the sun was gouged. I called Mr. Randall and he knew who I was right off the bat trying to blame ME for asking his movers to move a piece of furniture upstairs. I tried to tell him that was what movers were for and he in turn tried to blame me for wanting to have this piece of furniture upstairs. Then I said,"They destroyed my landing in my new house." and he had the nerve to mimic me saying the same thing. He then said,"Look lady I don't know why you are getting angry when you don't really need to.....etc etc." On the day of the gouging in my landing, they promised to send someone out the next day. It is now 1700 the next day. I called Mr. Randall and he said he couldn't come out today and I told him I waited for him all day. He said I could have called him. I told him that HE SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME telling me not to expect him. This is a company with a very unprofessional owner. And now I'm stuck with a landing in a new home that is destroyed. Oh, I also have no experience with movers. Bought this house after I lost everything in a house fire one year ago. Not a very professional group of people. Stay away. read more

A 5 Star Rating is NOT high enough for Randall Moving & Storage. We were very apprehensive about selecting a mover due to poor experiences in the past and the need to protect precious cargo. There was no need to worry, we were more than comfortable with Randall Moving & Storage from the in-house estimate moving forward. Dana was spot on with an estimate, as well as offering, fair and competitive rates for the move. The crew was on time, extremely courteous, professional and comfortable to be around, not to mention they protected our belongings with the utmost care. Our move had hiccups, all on our end due to our builders last minute delays, and Randy went above and beyond to accommodate our schedule. I have never written a review before, but our service was too fantastic not to share.
