Cracked/dropped by iphone and was recommended to QC by several friends. Messaged through the yelp site and heard back from LW quickly - able to bring my phone in the next day. The screen unfortunately was not repairable in the store, LW gave me options to buy the phone back, send to apple, or keep the phone as is (broken screen). Since the model I had was slightly older I opted for the buy back and was able to get a new phone through Apple. I appreciated the prompt service and honest recommendations. Thank you! read more

I dropped in because I heard good things about this shop. The screen on my phone was popping off, the battery had a diminished run time and the charge port wasn't working well. I figured that I was going to have to get a new phone. They cleaned out my charging port on the spot. Works great now! Then told me that the screen was popping off because the battery went bad and was swollen. They replaced the battery and re-mounted the screen and glass. The phone works great now. I'll post an update if the fix doesn't last. read more

I dropped my iPhone SE and it had a couple jagged cracks (a corner in particular was pretty smashed). I noticed Quick Communications as I was walking past, saw their Verizon sign, and stepped inside to see if by chance they had the new Blackberry Tour. They did. I was planning to make the trek to the local Verizon Wireless store that day, and was dreading it. My local Verizon Wireless store is filled with rage, busy, noisy, and the salesmen will do anything to close a sale--even lie. I hate it. But I thought it was the only game in town. It's not. Quick Communications is a relief-providing alternative to friggin' Verizon Wireless. Quick not only had the Blackberry Tour, but offered it cheaper than Verizon. They activated the account with Verizon instantaneously, and I was on my way. The owner even threw in a free charger and a free screen protector. When one of my chargers stopped working, the owner exchanged it without a moment's hesitation. I will never again visit a Verizon Wireless store, now that I know Quick Communications is faster, cheaper, more responsive, and more pleasant. read more

I tried to go in there with an unlocked iPhone to start service on T-Mobile which they can do if the phone is carrier unlocked. Louis (the owner of the store) told me my phone is locked and he can unlock it for $120 (going rate on Craigslist is $40 to unlock) Well I already did it before I visited the store. Next, to start service was gonna cost me about $79.99 a month (no contract) for 500 min, unlimited text and web on top of unlocking my phone. So $200 total, payment due now. No thanks. I ran into another guy a couple of weeks before and he said my phone was already unlocked. So I decided to take a trip to his store in San Francisco and I was on the T-Mobile network in minutes. Up front cost? Nothing. T-Mobile will be sending the bill in the mail. My cost? First month half off and $49.99 a month for the same package, also no contract. I guess I could have given two more stars if I didn't feel like my business wasn't welcomed and my phone truly was still locked. All he had to do was double check with a t-mo sim if it was in fact locked or not which would have taken 1 minute. Instead I had to drive to SF and back to complete this task. read more

I ran over after speaking with them on the phone. Have a couple of old Amazon Fire Phones that I needed to switch the battery on and he was able to help get the last stripped screw unstuck for me. My visit was in February for my iPhone 6. My iPhone 5 was slowly dying on me but I've always dreaded going to the phone store. If I had known sooner that my experience could be like this one, I wouldn't have waited so long! Louis was friendly and patient, unlike some places, which I really appreciated! I'm terrible about remembering to back up my phone and all that, but Louis took care of it and made sure everything was there before we transitioned over to my new baby. I told the gentleman the circumstances and asked how they could help me out with a cheap phone because a new one is coming next week through insurance. he told me they have cheap phones, but then asked if I had unlimited data. i do, and i covet it dearly. he then proceeded to warn me that if i switch to a flip phone, even temporarily, i will lose my unlimited data. he gave me more info than i asked for, and basically saved my butt. I was trying to replace the cracked screen on my iPhone 8 Plus myself, but I broke the camera/earpiece cable in the process. I made an appointment via text, and brought in my disassembled phone with the new screen that I had already purchased. They put in a new cable, and used all the other parts I already had to complete the repair. Took less than 30 minutes, and they charged me a very reasonable price for taking over my DIY mess. I had to have my battery replaced and called Louis and he invited me right in to his place of business. 20 minutes later battery was replaced. A day later my home button stopped working and left a message for Louis. He texted me the next morning and said to come in. He replaced the home button at no cost. I cracked my iPhone 7 Plus screen a few weeks back on a Saturday. After calling around to a couple different repair stores in the area, I chose Quick Communications because 1) they use OEM replacement parts, which are the same parts Apple uses and 2) they were able to accommodate me the same day and told me it would only take about 20-30 minutes. I went in, dropped off my phone and they called me when it was ready. Super easy and smooth! I realized the next day that the screen was a little bit discolored in one of the corners so I called in and they told me to bring my phone in so they could take a look. I was worried I'd have to pay for another screen but they told me their repair comes with a 3 month warranty. Phew! I went in after work and handed my phone to Louis. He quickly replaced my screen with a brand new one saying it was easier just to replace the screen, rather than try to diagnose why the corner was discolored. I was in and out of the store in under 15 minutes! Unfortunately the following day, I realized that my earpiece speaker wasn't working. I searched online and saw that earpiece speaker malfunctions were fairly common with screen replacements. I called back into the store and was told to bring my phone in the next day when their technician was there so they could take a look. I dropped my phone off again with Louis and he helped me replace the earpiece speaker within 30 minutes at no additional charge. All in all, Quick Communications is really accommodating and their customer service is top notch. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them for screen repairs. Thanks Louis! read more

I recently shattered the screen on my iPhone5 and desperately needed to get it replaced ASAP. Louis, the owner was very helpful and nice --replaced my screen on the same day. I brought in my iPhone to have the cracked screen replaced and while they were fixing it they discovered a problem inside the phone (most likely from a faulty screw from the factory). But because they were the "last ones to touch the phone," they replaced it. For free. Without me asking. Talk about customer service! I am not technically savvy in any way and have been resistant to new technology (I don't even have T.V. or internet hookup at home). I needed to upgrade my Verizon service and cell phone so that i can send and receive email and do light internet surfing. I happened to walk by Quick Communications during the Arts & Wine Festival in Alameda. They had a table outside the store. I inquired about plan costs and phones. Vanna helped me, and what was impressive was that she didn't give me a lot of jargon. She understood what I wanted and made sound recommendations. The owner Louis Wong even threw in a free car charger when he overheard me complain about the many different car chargers I already had from previous phones. Anyway, thumbs up on these guys. They are seriously customer oriented which is rare anywhere. They made my life easy and gave me every thing I needed for my rebate. Wow, I was pleasantly surprised today with my experience at this store. In the past, I've gone to Radio Shack at South Shore, the Verizon booth at Costco, or the Verizon store next to Home Depot in San Leandro. I had driven by it daily for years but they've been here for 18 years. The service was excellent -- fast, friendly, efficient, and delivered by knowledgeable staff. An upgrade of my phone with porting of my contacts took only about an hour. The same experience at Radio Shack too 4-6 hours. The one draw back was not having a huge selection of covers for the phone but the saleswoman (I can't remember her name, sorry to say) was very helpful with selecting one that would cushion the device's fall if dropped and also installing a protective skin on the front. Definitely recommend it especially for those with limited time. read more

Found this excellent business using the Yelp app. My experience included better customer service than any other Verizon store I've visited. I drove out of my way and it was well worth it. The owner Louis was very helpful. He's a sports fan and has signed posters from local sports teams on his walls. While I was there, one of those pro athletes showed up, just to talk to Louis.
