I can't recommend My Emergency Guy enough i love this dude. My iPhone 15 Pro suddenly stopped turning on after I powered it off. Apple told me the logic board was bad and quoted me around $500 for a repair. I thought I was going to have to buy a whole new phone. I decided to get a second opinion from My Emergency Guy, and I'm so glad I did. They took the time to diagnose the problem, explained everything clearly, and repaired my phone for much less than Apple's quote. The communication was honest, professional, and straightforward the whole time. They even applied the diagnostic fee toward the repair, which I really appreciated. My phone is working perfectly again, and they saved me hundreds of dollars. If you have an iPhone with a logic board or motherboard issue, or Apple tells you your phone can't be repaired, do yourself a favor and come here before buying a new phone. you da goat for fixing my phone read more

I wanted to share my experience and concerns regarding my data recovery evaluation. I am not someone who typically writes negative reviews. I'm about uplifting local businesses. However, because I work in the technology field, I felt it was important to share my experience after taking the time to look further into the situation and to help others going through a similar situation. Initially, I did not jump to conclusions. Instead, I sought additional opinions from other professional recovery companies to better understand available options. That's most important. Before posting this review, I reached out directly to Emergency Guy to give them an opportunity to address my concerns and provide clarification. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response. I came to Emergency Guy seeking guidance after experiencing issues with my HDD and SSD. Overall, the staff and technicians were respectful. However, I did have one interaction with an individual staff member who appeared overwhelmed and frustrated - possibly the owner, Phillip? While that affected the tone of that particular interaction, I understand that these situations can happen. It did not deter me from my overall experience, as I continued working with other staff members who were professional and helped improve the overall tone of the communication. I paidfor an evaluation and assessment, including shipping costs. During a follow-up phone conversation, I was asked over the phone whether I would consider increasing my budget to approximately $2,000 so the HDD could be sent to another company. While I was open to discussing available options, I ultimately decided not to proceed. Approximately four weeks later or longer, I was informed that the HDD platters were damaged and that there was essentially no realistic chance of recovering my data, even through another recovery provider. I was also asked whether I wanted the drive recycled, which I understood as disposing of the device, and I chose not to proceed with that option. I sought additional professional opinions. After receiving a second and third evaluation from other data recovery companies, I was advised that the condition of the HDD did not appear to match the assessment I had originally received. This experience raised concerns about the accuracy of the initial evaluation. Since I paid it, I expected a clear and accurate diagnosis of the drive's condition, along with realistic information regarding possible recovery options. My concern is not that recovery was uncertain -- I understand that data recovery can be complex and that outcomes are never guaranteed. My concern is that I was told it was beyond recovery, yet further evaluations resulted in my data being successfully recovered. My advice to anyone going through a similar situation is to seek multiple professional opinions. I chose Emergency Guy because I believe in supporting local businesses, and I appreciate the services they provide. However, when dealing with important data recovery decisions, it is always wise to consult other qualified professionals. If something does not feel right, take the time to ask questions, gather information, and get additional opinions before making a final decision. If someone becomes dismissive with questions - that's a sign to move on immediately. read more

They explained about the repair process and the cell phone and laptop were repaired and are like brand new.

I had a Dell Inspiron that was 2 years old and one of the hinges fell off of the LCD back cover front bezel. Dell Support was unhelpful and said the hinge issue isn't covered by warranty. I brought it to My Emergency Guy who had it fixed in less than 24 hours. It was great that they had the part in store and charged a great price as well. The communication was smooth and they seemed quite knowledgeable I will be back soon as I need another part replaced but the laptop is working and I am appreciative of the repairman's efforts and efficacy. read more

First rate skills and speed! The employee attentively diagnosed and resolved my cellphone-gone-bananas problem on a 6-year-old phone. It took him about 15 minutes from beginning to end, and he was able to take care of a few other customers during the process. This was my second visit. The shop had fixed a laptop problem for me a few years ago. The price for each service was reasonable. read more

The owner is very kind and helpful. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping people, not just making money. He has fixed my MacBook on several occasions and even chose not to charge me for a repair because it was related to a previous issue he had already helped with. read more

While I may not be a fan of the relatively large deposits for most devices, at the end of the day it is a great service. Any issue, easy or difficult (even for people who know what they are doing), I will always have faith that they will figure out and fix the issue. If it costs a lot, it's usually at the fault of the manufacturer of the device getting repaired. For jobs that don't need new parts, price is perfectly acceptable in most cases. The micro soldering services are super nice to have nearby as not many repair shops are skilled enough for them. read more

I thought my laptop was dead for sure, but it wasn't. These guys very quickly diagnosed the problem and offered a very reasonably priced solution. They saved me hundreds of dollars. 24 hours later I'm up and running again. They are fast, trustworthy, and reasonably priced. I would absolutely go to them again. read more

I've brought in my 2019 MacBook twice (once to replace a strobing menu bar, the second time to replace a battery) and both times the repairs were well and quickly done and cost roughly what the internet had led me to believe they should. Something came loose during the battery repair which made the fan run at maximum capacity and they did that repair completely the next day, and free of charge. Good eggs! read more

They always do a great job, have broken my phone screen multiple times and they've always quickly got the job done, the price tag is worth not losing all of my stuff all over a broken LCD screen. Has saved me from heartbreaks a plenty. The staff are...... a tad odd..... the best way I can describe it is "I've only met one guy there who acts like he's had a social interaction in his life before, and the other two people act like drawing blood would be less painful than being above bare minimum decent", kinda like one friendly staff, and the rest are Sheldon from Big Bang Theory and will actually almost hiss at you with an obscene amount of disdain if you make small talk during a long pause as they calculate or look up stuff, that's something I have always found odd, and it's a dice roll on when it'll be that slightly hostile-ish energy..... but I would sum it up as "show up, quickly talk about your dilemma, pay for the fast shipping, then quickly go in and out without anything else". They do well, although my only complaint is that sometimes the screen they replaced on my phone comes slightly ajar, but it clicks back into place easily with no further issues. Good business, come here and try it out, they're great. read more

Quick professional, professional, polite, reasonable pricing. I brought my Samsung Galaxy here to have the charging port replaced. It was an hour before they close and they said to come back in 45 minutes. What a joy to work with these people! read more

The folks at My Emergency Repair guy are thankfully the kind of smart computer people who are customer service and solution oriented. They do not condescend or try to pad the repair bill. I feel welcome and always want to go back. Their screen repair is easy, fast and reliable. For computers they know a TON, and try to always preserve and help you get your data right. They also can help you build the right computer for you. Recommend highly! read more

Love this place so much. My entire iPhone Xs screen was hanging onto my phone body with 2 rubber bands after cracking the screen, then dropping it again, etc. Walked in on Saturday at 11am, right when they opened, chose the $99 replacement option, & had I wanted, it would have been ready in 30-40min. However I was running errands all day so told them no rush...it was still done by 12:14pm. I showed up at 3:15pm, got the phone, it looks and works great...another happy experience at My Emergency Guy! read more

LISTEN, READER, THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO READ! I don't leave good reviews easily--just see my profile--but this is warranted. This team is simply capable of what you think is near impossible. The iPhone has been out for over 14 years. How many times have you ever heard about the mere possibility(!) of upgrading the storage in your phone? Not once. Ask Genius Bar. Not possible, they'll tell you. You go to My Emergency Guy, and you might just get as lucky that they like you and will do the under-the-table job for you. No one does this. Go look at Google. Go. There is not one business in the United States (!) that undertakes the finicky job. My Emergency Guy said it was going to be a tougher job then my M1 MacBook Air (they upgraded it for me from 512 to 2 TB), yet they pulled off putting a 1 TB chip in my iPhone 15 Pro (titanium), no issues. (On a side note: Not only did they get an M1 MacBook Air of mine upgraded from 512 GB to 2 TB (technicians in Apple Chestnut Street had to discuss with managers how is that possible that my system info says I have 2 TB when the machine was sold with one half of a terabyte, but at Union Square, I am known as a legend with this machine.) These guys are legends. Working with them feels like going to the smith in Diablo 2 and bringing them special raw materials, and they'll upgrade your inventory like it's not even possible. Working with My Emergency Guy makes you feel like you are the main character. They are the absolute best! read more

I've used this business several times for replacing a PC component to removing malware. Each time, they were professional, honest about what they could do and charged a fair price. I had a great experience from beginning to end with my emergency guy. I'll be going back for all my computer and it's going forward. My keyboard was broken and the quote I got from Apple was triple what they charged me. I'm happy. I have a go to source for computer support! read more

Been here several times - they do great work. Had a minor complaint which the owner addressed personally. Recommend.

First time here and ever needing to replace my crack phone screen! I called multiple places to get a quote and this place was within reason and explained the price of the screen and then labor costs. The staff are also very friendly and kind when I called. They had let me know that the process would take an hour and that they have some in stock for my Samsung S9! Total I paid about $260. When I got there, everything that was discussed on the phone was true and it took about an hour! I recommend bringing a watch because I normallh use my phone for the time but kinda had to just estimate it and use my car clock! Haha This place made my day go from bad to good! Within 2 hours of me dropping my ohjne and breaking the screen it was replaced! They made it easy and stress free! I definitely recommend then and will use them again if it has again, which I'm sure it will! read more

This sucks because pre-pandemic they've been good with my repairs. Brought in my daughter's old ipad as I'm going to use it in my Rivian for entertainment purposes while charging. Super basic problem: cracked screen with extra "graphics." For anyone that's had an ipad/iphone screen replaced, we all expect a certain quality. Not perfect (maybe even cheap chinese parts) but the device should at least look/function like it did before the damage. The ipad had a corner chip (no big deal) they were to replace the screen (which they did). As soon as I got home you'll notice what I did in the pic. They returned the ipad to me with a gaping seam where the screen was hovering like a full mm above the corner of the shell (opposite where the actual/chipped damage was done). Completely unacceptable. I took it back and they agreed to re-glue it. Again, no problem. Except when I got it back. This is a brand new screen w/home button and the button is sunken in and does not operate properly. I simply dont trust them with my device. The worst part is that I LITERALLY paid the price of a new device just to have this one shoddily repaired. Not cool. Never going back. Sucks to end a good relationship this way. read more

My Emergency Guy - Mobile Phone Repair Near Me - Oakland, California

The folks at My Emergency Guy were fast and friendly and the repair (a cracked screen) was very affordable. But then, once I got the phone back, I started to notice the screen responsiveness was wonky. I was unable to swipe, my texts missing letters or putting in gaps, or the phone switching between apps randomly, it just became untenable. I came to find out that My Emergency Guy has a 90 day warranty on all repairs, and all I had to do was bring it to their attention, drop it for a short time and they cheerfully replaced the defective component. Very, very cool guys and a dog wondering around behind the counter. Five Stars! read more

I am so happy that they were able to help me retrieve my info on the fault flip phone that I purchase 9 months ago! Fast, friendly plus extremely knowledgeable about the new and old faulty device. And this business is a solid gold nickle....smile read more

Nice guys too! I perpetually destroy my macbook air power cord. I bought one from these guys and proceeded to destroy it over the weekend (new record for me). My sd card became corrupted after a photo shoot, thought I lost everything. However my emergency guy saved the day! They were able to recover everything. Buyer beware. Don't ask questions. While I have been a great past supporter of these guys and they have undeniably come through for me, even to replace a defective screen they installed beyond its warranty, their recent, unwelcome attitude left me not wanting more. I will not go back and told them so. Their responce was to make me the issue. *p.s. it should be noted the out-of-warranty replacement would have been unnecessary, if it checked as requested, the first I returned it, minutes after receiving it their initial screen replacement. read more

Pourya and his team are a GODSEND! I called around and other companies wanted $4,000 to get the data off my iPhone. Not only did My Emergency Guys have a very reasonable and transparent fee structure for their service; they were amazing and totally customer-focused. All kinds of people from the hood stopped in while I was there and they were so helpful, like a major part of the community. I also love the fact that they are local and you can walk in and talk with someone face to face while handing over your device with all your sensitive data on it. They retrieved all my data for 1/10 of what others wanted to charge me in a fraction of the time the others were going to take. Don't send your phone to Novato, head down to College Ave. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone. 5 stars for service, 5 stars for value, 5 stars for the pup. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. I thought I had lost almost all my files and spent an hour on the phone with Apple support. Apple could do nothing.
