I'm pretty skeptical of cellphone repair shops--but Quickfix made a believer out of me! I called before I bicycled over to get the battery in my S22 replaced. 20 minutes--Done! I asked Ali about getting a bigger battery--he showed me the old battery and said, "You can get a bigger battery on Amazon, but I always use OEM parts--those bigger batteries swell after they're recharged a few times and it presses the little room that's inside a cellphone--it's a bad idea." I then offhandedly asked him about the USB charging port on my ebike that never worked. Without hesitation he checked it out. When it didn't work for him, he started researching it. He said to turn the bike off, he inserted the cord and then he said to turn it on. Viola! it worked. I dropped off my iPad for a screen repair on a Friday even though the screen wasn't going to be delivered until Monday. I knew if I waited to bring it back after the screen arrived, I probably wouldn't make it back until my next day off and I'd be without my iPad even longer. He was super nice and let me leave it there, and it ended up being ready by Wednesday. When I picked it up on Thursday, I asked if they had any screen protectors and how much they were. This place is great, highly recommend. My phone got wet and the screen was unresponsive. I brought it in and Ali very quickly swapped out the screen with 2 other screens before determining there was a deeper damage that couldn't be fixed. I had a specific replacement in mind that he didn't have so he called around to a few other shops to locate one. In the end it didnt work out and he only charged me a small fee for all the work he had done. This is a huge shoutout to Ali at Quickfix Wireless on Telegraph. After trying to install the "easy placement" Amazon earphone pad replacements for my Boise headset, I got frustrated and decided I didn't want to potentially damage the earphones or have hot glue gun residue on them (which didn't work anyway). I was at my wits end. I ordered the original and still had the same issue, so I decided to seek professional help. I looked up places in my area with good reviews, and Quickfix had great reviews. I love the Temescal part of Oakland where it's located, and parking was easy to find. I walked in and waited briefly as the agent, Ali, assisted another customer. I overheard the customer being frustrated about his phone, but Ali showed him kindness and empathy. As I overheard the customer, he said to Ali, "Thank you man! That's awesome! REALLY appreciate you." The customer walked in frustrated and left feeling heard, valued with a huge smile. When it was my turn, Ali listened to understand my situation and my frustration. He made me feel validated that it's harder than it seems, especially without certain tools. He must have spent at least 10-15 minutes installing the headphones to perfection. I was so happy to be able to use my headphones again and relieved that something was off my list. When I asked Ali how much it was, he said not to worry about it because he wouldn't charge me since it was a small issue. I asked again, but he insisted. What was a small issue for him was a great gift to me. It wasn't just the headphones being fixed; Ali's kindness, professionalism, knowledge, and amazing customer empathy and service made my day. If your phone breaks, it's definitely worth your while to take it to Quickfix Wireless before you spend hundreds of dollars on a new phone! I have an old Huawei phone that I love, but last week the screen gradually turned dark purple until it was completely unreadable, even though the phone was still otherwise working. I took it to Quickfix along with an even more ancient one that had a good screen but other problems. The friendly Quickfix person quickly figured out that he could get the good screen out of the no-good phone and swap it into the one that was good except its screen. He said it might take two hours, but in fact just an hour later he was done, and I had my favorite phone back in working order - all for only $50! There may be some problems they can't fix, but based on my experience I'd say try them ! read more
