Compupod was the only business that replied that they could remove a soldered resistor on my odometer/speedometer and replace it with one I provided as a replacement. They were able to complete this in half a day and I picked it up next morning. Odometer on my 2001 Toyota Camry was having issues on high temp days that cause the odometer to not display and the speedometer to remain only at zero. It seems to be a common issue with older 1997-2001 Camrys and the solution was to replace with a new resistor (I tried replacing the VSS, transmission solenoids, spark packs/wires/plugs, new alternator and battery) per a video on YouTube. They did a great job with the soldering of the new resistor and I put the odometer/speedometer back together and into the car with no issues. Now to see if this resolves my Camry issues! I've been coming here for about a year to service my PS5 and controllers, and up until recently, I've had positive experiences. The staff is usually helpful, and turnaround times are pretty quick. However, my last experience was really disappointing. I brought in my DualSense controllers to fix analog stick issues and paid $100 to repair three knobs. Just one week later, I had the exact same issue with one of the supposedly repaired sticks. When I brought it back, I was charged an additional $60 to fix what should have already been resolved. What's most frustrating is that I couldn't get a clear explanation as to why I was being charged again for the same issue. If a repair doesn't hold up after a week, that should fall under some kind of workmanship guarantee--not an additional charge. Was trying to get a quote on a cell phone repair for a S22 Ultra. I explained over text the symptoms, boot looping and needing to clamp the phone to get it to boot, but they would not provide estimate pricing. It is a well-known issue that the cpu needs to be reballed on these when it happens but kept being told that I would need bring it in and pay for diagnostic first. Why would I do that without getting at least an estimate to get an idea if I would even want to pursue repair? What if it ended up costing $200 for the repair? Then I would be out of the diag fee as it is not worth fixing. Not a good way to earn a new customer's trust and just made me feel like I was dealing with a shady car dealership. Can easily tell a customer, reballing typically costs $X but this is just an estimate and we won't know till we actually diagnose it. At least that way, I can think if its worth it or not. Compupod is a lifesaver. I thought my computer was toast after damage to the ports caused a pop warning to constantly open and close. Upon arriving, the staff was friendly and professional. They also reconfirmed their quoted price which was excellent (no bait and switch). After all the positive reviews that I saw, it felt like a no-brainer to take my Surface Book 3 here. I was hit by a car last year, laptop was in my backpack. The hit destroyed the screen of my Surface Book 3. I ordered a new screen and decided to go to Compupod so they could replace the screen for me. They have the best reviews. However....Not only does my computer not even turn on anymore but the experience wasn't that great. Customer service leaves much to be desired on top of them ruining my laptop. I plan on bringing in my computer so they can rectify this but until then this review is very valid and I would not bring any of my stuff here. My computer still turned on while the screen was broken before I brought it in. I just didn't want to have my fingers full of glass. Now it doesn't turn on at all. Not even a Windows logo. iPhone users beware. I went to replace a cracked screen. When I got it back the phone warned that the screen it was replaced with was unofficial and would result in performance issues. And it was right. The screen touch is much worse and drains the battery substantially faster than before. When I raised the message to the repair crew they dismissed it as nothing to worry about, which is flat out false. Poor performance and compromises trade in value. Really you're better off going to Best Buy or the Apple Store to do a more legitimate repair. read more

Summary: they took in my device when they didn't have the parts to do so, and couldn't repair it cause it was a new model that they thought their supplier had parts for. So I paid $35 for a useless inspection. The customer service is genuinely fantastic. But my experience was not. Submitted in my rog ally x for repair. Probably shouldn't have the moment I noticed they kept on calling it a "rog ally" like the predecessor version (the components are different) but I thought they could work through it. After a month, or 2 weeks, I was concerned about the lack of an update. I called and they told me the reason why it didn't work. Which was cool. After another month or 2 weeks, I got fed up and gave a call. A nice worker essentially said, "oh so sorry we didn't have parts because it's a newer model and our supplier turns out to not have them". So basically they never had the parts necessary to fix my console, and they charged me $35 for a inspection that helps nobody, not even to Best Buy/Asus when I send it back to them. These guys are great at replacing phone screens, but bad at this type of stuff. read more

I went to Compupod for the first time today and came away a loyal customer who will now always come to them first with any issue I have regarding my phone or laptop. Michel, the front counter person who assisted me, provided a level of professional assistance every tech-challenged customer dreams of--extremely knowledgeable, patient, friendly, and thorough, going out of his way to investigate the exact cause of the mystery problem I was having charging my phone. He even tested my cord and charger on his own phone and confirmed it was working even though it would not run on mine. I assumed I needed a new battery which I was willing to buy and have the store install on the spot. But Michel saved me that cost and hassle by determining the actual cause was an interior circuitry problem that had nothing to do with the battery. He was upfront with me that the parts and labor for repair would cost almost as much as a new phone, and then provided a much simpler and cheaper solution. All I had to do was buy a different kind of cord and charger that would run slower but still get the battery to full capacity. He even allowed me to charge the phone for a half-hour at the store while I went and had lunch to be assured this solution would work out. Which it did! It is so refreshing to interact with a service provider who is genuinely wanting and willing to help his customers get what they need. It's apparent Michel really knows his stuff, takes pride in his work, and is just an all-around decent guy.
