They suck! Brought my phone for a simple replacement. Left with no sound of any kind, ringers, input/output voice, music nothing. Guy infront stated that its working, when he called he heard it, excuse me was in front of him and my phone in my hand. The indicator appeared someone is calling although no sound and was placed to the highest sound possible. He was firmed to say he tested it phone is working. Paid and stated if my phone doesn't work I will come back. Took my phone home thinking maybe needs time for the phone to reset. Charge the phone offline so it can reboot. Same night I checked on my phone, heard something was loose inside and will not connect on any wifi. Next following day I get a text from this place. Showing what they have done with my phone. I replied stating my concerns what just happened to my phone after they called fixed and paid for $$. Was really disappointed no reply after on my text. Following day was forced to buy a new phone, text comes not consistently and same as me responding. Lol like seriously!!! Another text came late the following day, asking if I would do a review of their performance. My concerns were not met. Such high review, my question is it all true or friends and family were asked to do the review to make it all sound good. read more

Two excellent experiences here. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. First. Brought in a broken phone and left it for repair. When they couldn't fix it they explained why and refunded the $25. Later purchased a case from them for an older phone. Grateful to find a place that had these. read more

***EDIT:*** After about a day of testing this out, I've determined that the screen isn't as sensitive as the original Apple one. I have to tap a bit harder to get the touch registering on the phone. It's not a major issue as I'll just have to get used to tapping a bit harder when I'm typing. For the price, this place is still fantastic. Original review: When my iPhone screen cracked (last night), I was in utter despair. I've had my phone for almost 2 years now, so I didn't want to spend too much money repairing it. Cue the classic "should I just buy a new phone?" thoughts. After staring longingly at an iPhone 7 on the Apple website and crying over the $650+ price tag, I messaged about 15 businesses on Yelp asking how much it would cost to repair the screen and LCD screen. The other prices in SF and the Peninsula ranged anywhere from $85-150. Compupod's estimate was by far the cheapest. You may know them as the Compupod on Mission St, but this new location has been open for less than a year (and it's way closer to my apartment). I was a little wary since it's not heavily reviewed, but the reviews for the other location were great so I decided to just pay a visit. The store's atmosphere is clean, bright, and friendly. I was helped by Hugo himself! He was good-natured, efficient, and made me feel like my phone was in safe hands. I walked in at 2pm on a Tuesday, dropped off my phone, and picked it up repaired precisely at 3pm. As for the quality of the repair, I can tell that the screen is slightly different (when I press the home button I can detect that the screen is maybe a millimeter thicker than the original Apple one), but the installation was perfect (no dust, bubbles, or anything) and I haven't noticed any actual defects yet. And for half the price of other stores! They even offered me 25% off accessories and a 90-day warranty on the repair. I'm so so pleased with my experience at Compupod and will definitely return if I need any tech repairs at a reasonable price. Oh, and they also take drop-offs for UPS. I've come here twice in just the past two weeks, and they're the best in SF. Michael's been here both times. He's very patient and so kind. I needed a new phone as my old one wouldn't charge anymore. They helped me get a used iPhone 12 that is like brand new for under $550, changed out my sim and everything. This week the screen broke in a skating accident and they were able to change out my screen and install a screen protector, all under $150. Anywhere else I'd have no more limbs! Michael (taller gentleman with long hair) is so kind and very patient. He even let me use the store's table too charger so I could get all my old phone data back!! I got a quote (through Yelp) to fix my PS4 and took it in for repair. When I get there I was told that generally, the repair I needed would cost about $30 more than I was quoted. My eyes were about to start rolling when without pause, they explained that the mistake was on their end and that they'd gladly honor the price I was quoted. A few days earlier than expected, I was notified that the repair was complete and I could pick it up at any time. I really appreciate the integrity of a business that keeps its promises. This year I made a commitment in the things I bought. I would use the things I have and repair what needed to be. I had a pair of headphones I used everywhere the sony wh-1000xm4. I had them since 2021 and just as 2022 came around the flopped. An intense workout may have done the cause because when they did the diagnostic they found it was water damage, not just to one side, but both! They were quick to send me the details and told me a time it would be done by. They were quick and effective. Once I had them for a day or two I noticed that one side wasn't working. I brought it back after troubleshooting it and they had it done within a day no charge. Go to this place and trust these people. I dropped my Motorola Moto G yesterday morning. I called four places in my neighborhood and none of them had the screen I needed, said it would be 3-6 days. I can't wait that long when my phone isn't working due to a cracked screen! I called CompuPod and they confimed over the phone that they had it in stock. I drove across town to this tiny little place on Mission Street and they had my phone fixed that afternoon. I tried to get a water damaged Samsung Galaxy Tablet S6 fixed. Their price for fixing my tablet was going to cost more than a new tablet. ($520+).They were upfront about the fact that they might not be able to fix my even if I paid for the $35 diagnostic fee. They said they were going to need to order parts and the quote I assume was based on parts plus labor. I probably won't be going back for any more device repairs but their pc repairmen are able to fix my laptops monitor. 2* for the mobile device repairmen for not being able to fix my tablet at a reasonable price. I probably won't bring any more devices in. 5* for phone and in person customer service. 5* for their laptop repair guy for being able to fix my laptop monitor. read more
