Googled where to get my iPhone screen fixed and this shop looked promising so I made the journey from Oakland. Immediately I noticed the welcoming mural on their storefront. I was immediately greeted, and fortunately did not have to wait long. During my short wait I was able to peruse their displays of abundant cases and accessories. The person helping me was extremely clear about the process of the repair and told me it wouldn't take more than an hour. Fortunately I was able to grab a cup of coffee and walk around the mission while waiting. My phone was adequately fixed and reasonably priced. Came in to get my phone screen replaced. Repair was speedy and affordable at $140. The aftermarket screen felt less responsive than a genuine Apple screen, but this is expected. I went to compupod to get a screen change for my surface pro 6, the screen was shattered and while it was still working normally, the screen was cracked everywhere. When first entering Compupod, I noticed how brightly colored everything was and how clean it was. The person who helped me, Zuly, was so nice and great. I dropped off my device on Friday and they had it ready to be picked up on Monday. From receiving my device back after getting it fixed, I first noticed how they put a temporary screen protector which I really appreciated. Zuly was so kind when handing my surface pro back to me, giving me time to test my surface pro, turning it on, making sure the touch screen worked, and that the mouse and the keyboard were still able to recognize it and work. I would 100% come back here if needed. The price of changing the screen was also reasonable, a lot of the other places I had checked before choosing Compupod were $50 more. Definitely recommend it, they even give free tempered glass screen protectors for phones when you check in on yelp. read more

This review is very long overdue but I wanted to make sure I truly captured the essence of this business and the exceptional customer service they provide. First of all, this business has been in the Mission district for years. You wouldn't think it from walking in because everything is well-kept and modern. In the past, I've gone to Apple if I need some sort of repair but when I shattered by iPhoneX screen, I figured I would go somewhere nearby because A. I work in the Mission, and B. Gotta support local businesses. I wasn't sure which place would be best or give me the best price/value so I started my search on Yelp, messaging different stores and inquiring their screen ranges/price. The range to fix an iPhoneX screen ranged from $150-299 and most of these estimates were not the original OEM screen. Then I received a message from Hugo, who explained the different screens and prices they offered. I chose the original OEM screen for the whopping $289.99. It was pricey but I figured it was the best value/price compared to other places who were charging me $250-299 for aftermarket screens. I walked in and a lovely woman assisted me first. She gave me an estimate of an hour (had some lunch in the meantime), came back and Hugo assisted me with the rest of purchase. I also purchased a cute case from their many options. I was very satisfied with the repair and the service. FAST FORWARD MONTHS LATER... Because I am one of those "phone in the back of the pocket" kind of people, I noticed my screen started wiggling a bit. I didn't pay too much attention until I decided to remove the case and discovered the screen popped out. I was really shocked because the screen still worked but when I clumsily decided to pop it back in, a huge white line appeared right down the middle. I didn't want to make it worse so I decided to go down to Compupod to see what they can do. I was greeted by Hugo who was sympathetic to my situation. He took it apart and after inspecting it, he came to the conclusion that I needed to have the screen replaced. My heart literally sank to the ground. In my mind I thought, ANOTHER $290 *cue in the miniature violin*. Hugo gave me the rundown on screens and their prices, and of course I chose the original OEM screen. After an hour, Hugo was there to finalize my purchase. I don't know if it was due to being a previous customer or him just feeling very bad for me (because I literally looked like a little girl who just lost her puppy), but not only did he throw in a free screen protector but he also gave me a very generous discount. I was really surprised he did that and was very grateful. Hugo runs an honest business and treats his customers with humility and respect. Any other place would have happily charged me the same amount. Instead, he made sure I was taken care of, especially when he threw in the protector to make sure I don't break my screen again haha. There will be no other place I go to anymore and will recommend everyone I know to COMPUPOD. Highly highly recommend this place. Congratulations Hugo on a wonderful business. read more

WARRANTY REFUSAL!!! UNTRUSTWORTHY!! Brought in a Pixel 3 XL for a screen replacement. Price 190$. While waiting I was looking at the guy that did the install. Saw that he replaced the back of the phone as well and I asked him about it. His answer was: on. Pixel we are changing the front and back. Month later, the back panel is coming off. Went back in the store expecting they will fix it. Because on the receipt was not mentioned back replacement they refused to take care of the problem unless I was going to pay for the repair again. I asked when their install guy will be back in the shop to confirm what he did. They refused to tell me. Awful service and no trust in their ability to do a good job or respect their warranty! They were finished in an hour but I didn't pick it up for 5 hours because I was working. I took in my water-damaged iPhone (I was absentmindedly gardening in the rain with it in the pocket of my clearly not-totally-waterproof rain jacket), and they clearly explained the possible outcomes and their ability to deal with them. They did a diagnostic check of it (which was really reasonable at $20 or so), and after they let me know that the damage wasn't that bad and replacing the screen should do the trick, put the diagnostic fee toward the $70 screen replacement! My phone is working great and they checked the phone and had it repaired in less than a day. (I will also keep in mind, which they clearly stated, that residual issues may arise from the water damage that are not guaranteed for obvious reasons. FIngers crossed that the phone will be a-ok.) All of the Compupod employees were really kind and helpful. This is a really terrific local business that serves the Mission community well. THANK YOU! :) read more
