    The hour long wait...
    -Marvin W.

Stayed at the hotel and wanted to do breakfast. They had 2 employees, a waitress and the maitre d. The backlog and wait was horrible. My suggestion is open up both rooms and hire more floor staff

Horrible. Second attempt to get dinner first one was a stupid rare steak that broke my plastic take out fork. Second was room service banh mi "sandwich" and it's in quotes. Do you like fat? You will love this sandwich

Do yourself a favor and visit this amazing restaurant and bar in Dallas. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food is absolutely amazing - everything I've tasted melted in my mouth. John makes the best cocktails in Dallas and Denis makes everyone feel at home. Highly recommend!

Came in a couple minutes after the kitchen closed & sat at the bar, I had a really bad sweet tooth & Oscar the bartender was able to snag me every flavor of ice cream they had! Even made me a special dessert rum chata drink! Service was beyond exceptional! The atmosphere is very relaxed & quiet & perfectly well lit! Oscar really mad a regular out of me.

We ordered room service while staying at the hotel this restaurant is located in and really liked the food! The fish and chips really surprised me. The batter was crispy and the fish inside was so flaky and tender. The edamame hummus was also really good and a little spicy. The pita that came with it wasn't great though. It wasn't toasted or heated up at all. It also came with long pieces of English cucumber that were really fresh and crispy. The shishito peppers were good, not the best I've ever had, but good enough. Would have been better with some rock salt flakes on it.

I came here with my boyfriend for New Year's Eve 2015 dinner and Xmas Eve 2016, but the review below was for NYE. For New Year's Eve he made reservations and it turned out to be a pre fixe menu, which saddened me, because it's usually not as good anywhere you go. At best I have salivated over something on their regular menu, which now I can't have. Oh well it's often the case on holidays. From the minute we walked in they were very warm and welcoming. It had a nice ambience and they had New Year's Eve hats etc at the tables. The appetizers were ok, but my entree was great. I ended up going with the fish.

We decided as a family to do a nice dinner on Christmas night and made reservations weeks in advance. The menu was fixed for the evening and included a dessert buffet. We were excited to try this restaurant for the first time. Shortly after being seated, our waiter arrived at our table. He didn't say much. For the rest of our meal, he said very little to us and gave short answers when asked a question. We thought we might get a Merry Christmas and at least a general level of service for the cost and experience at the Fairmont. The quality of the meal did not rise to the level of the cost. The dessert buffet was the best part of the experience. I wanted to like it more, especially for the total bill we received. As we were getting ready to leave, we heard another table remark about the service, confirming we weren't the only ones disappointed. They said they would not come back. We will not either.

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!

They have valet and do validate the garages, but be prepared to walk a block or two for both options. It's a cute restaurant with an area to take pictures and private room for larger parties. Took about 15 minutes to get seated, the server and our waiter, Manny, were both very great. Customer service is definitely their strong suit. The food, however, took a very long time to come out. We got the oysters to start, which were basically just cheese - not necessarily a bad thing. I got the pasta with shrimp and chicken which was very flavorful. My friend got the fried catfish, which she enjoyed. We also shared greens and mac and cheese. The greens were wayyyy too salty, but the mac and cheese was solid. Our drinks were also pretty good. Overall, I would give it a 3.5 but due to the great service I'll give it a 4.

We stopped by on a Tuesday for happy hour, before a concert. Erin was our server, and she was phenomenal. She gave thoughtful recommendations, knew the menu well, and made the whole experience feel easy and welcoming. Now let's talk food. We tried the lamb chops -- great flavor, nicely seasoned, though slightly on the tougher side. The truffle fries? Loved. The burger? Delicious. The oysters? Fresh and absolutely worth ordering. The cornbread was served with a bone marrow butter that added a rich twist, and the cornbread had a subtle jalapeño kick (at least to me!), which I really enjoyed. For drinks we tried the pear cobbler, Island Boy and the Pixie Cup. We enjoyed the pear cobbler the most. The ambiance is warm and inviting -- the kind of place you could come for happy hour and accidentally stay all evening. And I believe parking is validated. Overall, I definitely recommend checking Velore out. Great service, tasty food, relaxed atmosphere, and music at a volume that respects your eardrums. The menu will be changing again soon.
