The ugly and not tasty sandwich course
    Nancy N.

Definitely not a great place for Afternoon tea. Apart from the nice staff, everything was subpar compared to the Adolphus and Ritz. We made reservations and were seated in the lobby area instead of the conservatory, which is really tacky. We had tea while loud people were conducting business and bustling around. The ambiance was so poor and not serene like the Adolphus French Room. The tea itself was by Damman, which is fine. I wish there were more varieties and we could switch out the pot more. The flatware and china were plain white and not good quality. No Wedgwood here unfortunately. The food was actually really terrible. The sandwich bread was stale. They actually took a scoop of incredibly salty lobster salad and put it inside a sweet dinner roll. Afternoon tea is about presentation and this lacked on every course. And all courses were served at the same time, which is unusual. They ran out of cucumber (seriously cucumber?) so they served one of our sandwiches with raw yellow squash. It was so gross. The desserts course consisted of a macaron, a sweet chocolate pastry and some pudding. None of them were outstanding or pretty to look at. Considering that we paid $91/person, I do not recommend coming here for tea. But now we know better.

Beautiful garden views and attentive service are what you'll find here. The food is better than average but it is not great considering the high price tag. Still, it's worth a visit when downtown at the Crescent.

Service was slow, food was underwhelming. We waited 10 to 15 minutes to get anything from coffee to food. Ask for Tabasco. Never showed up

We had breakfast in the hotel and our server was helpful, friendly and had a sense of humor. We visited the pool and were surprised that it was not heated. The hotel gym was decent, could use a better (newer) bench but it had the basics. Our room had everything we needed (the bed was quite soft) and a great view of the eye across the street. My first shower would only get warm and not hot so maintenance had to come up and show me a safely button to push which allows the water to get hot. This was after texting with hotel staff (a very helpful option) but surprising that they didn't just tell me about the button and chose to send maintenance. We were in room 852 on the North side of the hotel and overlooking the eye. We came back from dinner around 10 on Saturday night and were kept awake until about 1:30am. I guess Main St is where people choose to drive their cars with the music so loud it feels as though it's in your hotel room. The motorcycles and cars also like to rev their engines.... A LOT. The windows appear to be single pane and they don't keep any noise out at all. Due to the noise level, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.  Being on the 8th floor and feeling like I was in the cars that were driving on main st and blaring music 2 nights in a row was incredibly disappointing.  If this was a 2 star hotel, okay.  That is not the case.  Upgrade the windows to double or triple pane.  Your location is great, service was friendly and efficient, but one generally wants to sleep at night and that is not possible at your hotel. We even asked the front desk on our second morning if we should change rooms and were told Sunday nights were quiet. I should have listened to my gut as our Sunday night was not quiet. Although the amount of cars & motorcycles wasn't as much as on Saturday, we still heard several cars with music blaring or motorcycles reviving their engines until around 1am. This was the beginning of a long overdue vacation and birthday celebration and it did not get started on the right foot unfortunately.

Rebecca the hostess was awesome and introducing us to everything and making sure we got set up for our night. The food and drinks were excellent! Highly recommend making a reservation for a table! It's $15 a person for 90 minutes...we had 11 people and time flew, but it was the perfect amount of game play time for all of us! The entire vibe of this place was so cool! We were amazed at how much space there is. The back room got pretty tight when we first arrived since there was a group of 12 there already....they had taken over the tall tables in the middle and the couch. We slowly spread out and then their time was up about half way through ours so it wasn't as cramped. But it's still such an awesome set up we couldn't stop talking about it the next day!

Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and just genuinely great people to be around. What really stood out was when we celebrated my mom's birthday there. They wrote a special note for her, and almost every employee took the time to wish her a happy birthday. She felt so loved and had the best time -- it meant more than they probably realize. If you're looking for a fun atmosphere with great vibes, great service, and people who actually care, this is the place. We'll definitely keep coming back!

Best decision ever From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with so much enthusiasm and seated right away by the window --although I was a little unsure about staying there since it was already cold outside . While we were deciding, someone immediately checked in to make sure we were okay (love that ). That's when the very kind gentleman--who we later learned was Victor Hugo--let us know another table would be clearing shortly so we could move. Top-tier service already For appetizers, we went with the brisket balls, duck taquitos, and a pitcher of pineapple mimosas . Let me tell you... those duck taquitos were SO good That crema?? EVERYTHING. The brisket balls instantly took us back to Turks & Caicos --IFYKYK We also tried the quesadilla, and once again--another hit . So good that we ended up ordering another round of the brisket balls because why not? Shoutout to Sayde and Maria, who were absolutely amazing . Tequila shots were flowing , and we were convinced to order pecan pie with ice cream for dessert . I do wish the dessert had been complimentary, and the pie would've been a solid 10/10 if it were warm--but still appreciated. Takeaway: Bucket & Rope does food right , and Victor and his team truly make you feel like family . We'll definitely be back--especially for those half-price apps during the week

We started off with a pitcher of mimosa and the duck taquitos. I'm usually not a fan duck however I was told to give it a try. If you hadn't told me it was duck, I probably would have thought it was chicken. The mimosa was a build your own, it came with 3 juices - orange, pineapple and cranberry - and you got to pour as much or as little juice as you wanted. Between the two of us, we each got about 3 glasses. I got the French toast, which tasted like a deep fried donut, in a good way. The outside was crunchy, the inside still had the pillow custard texture. However in my opinion it needed more of the apple pecan slaw especially if you weren't trying to drown them in syrup. My friend had the chilequillas which she really enjoyed but did mention a few times that it was a little spicy. We ended the meal with dessert which was rich and luscious but oh so delicious. It was a cholesterol mouse that was covered in a hazelnut chocolate shell with a raspberry sauce. Overall a great time was had & I'd gladly go back to try more.

From the moment I sat down, the experience reminded me why this place became such a favorite. I started with a sample taste of the frozen D'USSÉ margarita, which was the perfect way to kick things off. For appetizers, I ordered the deviled eggs and the fried salmon bites, and both were absolutely amazing. Flavorful, fresh, and cooked just right. For my entrée, I clearly came hungry because I ordered both the jerk chicken with greens, smoked turkey, and mac and cheese, plus the catfish and spaghetti after our amazing waitress Justice highly recommended it. Let me just say, she did not miss. Everything was seasoned well, hot, and worth every bite. For drinks, I had the blackberry margarita and the tequila old fashioned. Both were strong, smooth, and definitely only for those who either walked there or took an Uber! Justice made the entire experience even better with her recommendations, attentiveness, and great energy. Overall, Kitchen + Kocktails is still amazing. Great food, strong drinks, and excellent service. I'm happy I gave it another visit because they absolutely delivered. Easy 5 stars!
