Ummmmm. I'm torn. I really like finding the good for my reviews, but this one is difficult. The food was great but the service and environment was so sketch, that I don't think I'll be going back. First up, totally lose my man card because I ordered a garden burger with a light beer. BUT - the burger was damn good. Crispy and flavorful and the bun was spot on. Fries were scrumptious and the beer made me happy...once it finally arrived... Yep. Incredibly slow service - perhaps due to watching our waiter hang out in his van behind the restaurant. Odd. He kept disappearing, and there he would be chatting outside. Once he finally appeared he blamed the slow service and drink delivery on the bar being busy. However, my party was the only one in the restaurant. Odd again. HOT. Don't know if they were having AC problems or they just don't have it - but the day I was there it was sweltering in the restaurant, and the smell of the bathrooms was pungent! The restaurant also has a dark and uninviting feel. Again, food was great but the environment made me uncomfortable. I'm not one to leave a negative review but this place..... ugh. We were in the campground right behind the brewery and I was so excited about the convenience until we went there. First day we went and had wings and a Cobb salad. The wings were very good.... I should have ordered them as well but I had the salad. The grilled chicken was like eating cardboard. Ridiculously dry, hard and thin. And the balsamic dressing was the consistency of pudding. The dressing was served in a little 1inch diameter side cup that was 1/2 full. Not impressive. Not the best experience so.... I decided to give them another shot. The next day I ordered poutine for take out and an ice cream cone. First off the ice cream was tasty but the host was new so this was her "first one to make". Needless to say it was extremely small. For $3.50. Ok.... I'll give you some grace on that. Then there was the poutine. The order came up in the window... as I was the only one in the restaurant I figured it was mine. Employees kept walking by it without addressing it. I finally asked the "knowledgeable" one at the front of it was my order. He looks at me and says "I have no idea". Still not even looking at the name on the bag. Finally I flagged down the cook and turns out... it was mine. Big shocker. I should learn to look at my order before I leave places. Got it to the camper and opened it........ fries with various things on it but not cheese curds. So I take it back. I asked my ice cream girl if their poutine has cheese curds and she says she has no idea. So I ask if we could ask somebody who would know. Of course I get the same "knowledgeable" dude at the front... I ask him and he says he doesn't know.... Then says that they aren't the big cheese curds they are little pieces of them..... I open the box and ask... "is this what they are supposed to look like and can you show me the cheese"...... he points at the Parmesan sprinkle cheese. So I spent $11 for fries and gravy. NEWSFLASH... the whole point of poutine is the CHEESE CURDS!!!!!!! Long story longer..... this place needs help and they need to educate their employees on their products!!!!!!! read more

The service at Proper is a highlight. The staff is super friendly and very helpful. In a town full of places selling burgers, Proper is no better or worse than most others. The burgers are decently prepared, and of generous portions. In one visit, the bottom half of the bun was soggy. Was it horrible? No. Was it awesome? No. To shake things up, I tried the Cobb salad. The ingredients were a bit tired and I'd be surprised if the bacon bits were actual bacon. That said, there are places in Moab I'd never visit again. Proper Brewing isn't one of them. read more

Back in Moab for a week, and we thought we'd give this place a try. Entering the establishment we were immediately ushered to the left dining room area, a dimly lit and sparsely decorated space with little charm. "Can we dine in the taphouse," I asked. "Yes," was the reply. So we walked over to the bar / taproom which has a much better ambiance. The beer experience is a standard Utah brewery, which ironically is anything but proper. All draft beers are 5% max. We can't blame the restaurant for the local and state laws. Full strength can beers are available, but the high gravity beer comes with a high price tag ($12 a can?). We decided to order some bar food to start, poutine and buffalo wings. The poutine was average at best. It seemed like it had been assembled from a batch of frozen fries and some canned items. It was edible but I've had better poutine at the Costco food court (seriously! It's a thing in Montreal). Now for the buffalo wings. These were sincerely, the worst chicken wings I have ever purchased in a restaurant. I have traveled to 49 states, including a stop at the anchor bar in Buffalo New York where Buffalo wings were invented. I've traveled to more than 40 countries around the world. I've never seen Buffalo wings presented in this fashion. They were blackened to the point of being burned, and whatever sauce was placed upon their charred flesh did not appear to be buffalo. They were inedible. The chicken wings were so bad we mentioned the problem to our server. He agreed that they did not look normal and graciously took them off our ticket without complaint. So I'm not sure what to conclude about this place. The beer situation is about what you expect. The food we tried was very low quality, and that's putting it mildly. I think the restaurant would be better served by paring back to menu and focusing on a few items and making sure that those items are well prepared of high-quality ingredients. read more

Service was friendly and attentive, but that concludes my list of positives The space was pretty bland and uninspired. The beer (I tried two different IPAs) were fine but unremarkable. I ordered a fish sandwich (served on the same bun as the burgers) and it wasn't very good. For one, the bun was dry - the first thing to get right with a burger or sandwich is the bun/bread. Fail on that and you need to reconsider your operation. Sadly, I won't return and can't recommend. read more

Only go here for the beer; not the food. It's a brewery for a reason. We ordered nachos and asked for it without the cheese sauce and just cheddar cheese. The waiter brought us the nachos without any cheese, so we asked him to add the cheddar cheese and he brought it back with cold cheese sprinkled on top. We asked him to melt it and he said he couldn't. We complained to a manager and they didn't take the nachos off the bill, they only took 50% off. The waiter didn't understand our friend's orders either and there were a lot of problems overall. Not a great experience at all. The bathrooms were clean at least. read more

We did not eat here! So this review is just a beer review. We are from central Texas so microbrews and craft beer everywhere! Our expectations are always high, and this just missed the mark! We only stayed for one beer each and left. The Tropical Fruit Ale (see pix) was alright, but my husband was really unimpressed with the Czech Dark lager (he does brew his own beer, so he's kinda opinionated lol but he gave me a professional review of Proper's version in the car and what all they needed to fix for it to truly fit the style they were going for). We were staying at an RV park next door, didn't feel like heading into downtown Moab for dinner. After looking at previous reviews we were a bit apprehensive to go. Fast forward... beers selection is great and affordable. We decided to try the Teriyaki Wings and they were delicious. Had a slight crunchiness and the Teriyaki favor was just right. Came in because I saw that there was a live music for the Moab Music Festival tonight. We arrived yesterday from Atlanta and thought we would try a couple of local beers after a day hiking Canyonlands - music was a bonus. Arrived at 8pm and were told the music venue was fulll. Not a problem - we were just looking for a beer. Sat in the bar area - a year in man brought us two waters and we waited. And waited. And WAITED. I went back to the hostess to ask if I should just go to the bar and order a couple of beers. She asked where we were sitting and said someone would be right with us. No one ever came. I watched the tables next to us get waited on, brought menus, served beer and food. My husband actually caught the eye of one of the servers - a blond gentlemen - who looked directly at him and walked away. Needless to say we left. It wasn't even that busy in the restaurant - not sure what the excuse is for the terrible service but would not recommend to anyone. Just plain rude. I was looking forward to a night out with my husband - we're here for our anniversary - needless to say an otherwise wonderful day was ruined. Came after hiking arches. They had a nice selection of beers. The Pilsner was classic. I'm not a fan of pumpkin spice but I wanted to try the beer and it wasn't too bad. The pineapple beer tasted what you'd expect it to. I was really impressed with the Coffee Cream ale beer, not too overpowering with the coffee and that makes it great. My wife got the apple cider old fashioned we both felt it had a bit much syrup but wasn't a bad drink. The pretzel is your classic bar pretzel. read more

Which was a house made of protein grains that had a surprising texture complimented with a slight crunch. The balsamic dressing was a perfect touch to the caramelized onions and red peppers and spring mixed greens (like I was eating fancy) and the vegan aioli. All came together like the perfect plan, A-team style, for my ferocious appetite. With a generous helping of fries this was some good ish. Got the Vesuvius brew on tap which wasn't very tasty and hydrating. Hats off to Moab Brew Pub but ditch the crowds and get some great food. They also have dairy free ice cream by Oatley for all you dreams and desires, either cans and swag for purchase. Family friendly too with a restaurant side. They do have a number of canned beers you can order. "Bar" side is 21+ has multiple taps but you cannot bring drinks to the other side. I came with my wife and 2 kids so can't really grab drinks in the bar and ditch my family. When we originally came in we were a little confused of the menu but the person at the register (Riley) didn't bother to help or explained how anything work until I was really confused ordered then she un-enthusiastically explained how it worked. I came back for a second round to order another beer and fries but Riley skipped me of course and helped a Caucasian couple and completely explained the menu, how the restaurant side works and how the bar works even though they weren't ready to order. Good restaurant and brewery in Moab right off of the Main Street and close to some of the hotels. Pretty good burgers and bar food for even vegetarians and vegans. Not necessarily the healthiest food, but definitely tasty after a long day of hiking. Like the opportunity to do flights of beer, even if none of them really excited me. We saw some negative reviews about this place but wanted to check it out since the beers at Moab Brewing had us wanting some more fruity options with we preferred. We got the pork city USA burger and the rising Sun burger, both so good, and the nacho cheese fries, which between two people the two burgers and the fries completely filled us up. We got a bunch of samplers of beers before we got a pitcher and ended up loving the blood, bath, and beyond the most, with some other highlights being the coriander gose that we sampled and and habanero and peach beer that was actually spicy! The service was quick, got our beers and food really fast, were here at around 3pm so maybe that had to do with it. There was a bar side and a restaurant Side, if you want beers sit on the restaurant side since there's not many beer options on the restaurant side and you can't bring beers from one side to the other. This is a great find. Many options for meat-eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. Flavor combos are really creative, like kale pesto spread. The atmosphere is casual with both bar and restaurant seating. This is the first restaurant when driving south from Arches. We are glad we stopped! read more

Beware the flights are $12!!! Even though a pint is $6.00 and we expect to pay a little extra, we surely didn't expect to pay double.
