There was about an hour wait on a Saturday evening around 6 - you CAN apparently make reservations! There is not much seating to wait, and parking is awful - so we waited in the car/looked at shops down the street, so it wasn't that bad. Our waitress Shay was absolutely AMAZING! It's so clear she loves her job, and people, and I hope that management gives her the kudos she so deserves. The food was very good (although I'd skip the Cesar next time as it was nothing special), but the chicken altered was perfect as was the sweet potato fries which is a must get. We ate dinner there on a very warm summer afternoon as we were making our way from Los Angeles to Denver, with stops at national parks along the way. The food selection and proximity to our hotel attracted us, so we called and made reservations for two for about 15 minutes hence. We got there 90 seconds before our reservation time, and walked right past others waiting (they glared at us!), and got seated at a table underneath the high timber ceiling. The hostess brought water right away. Our server showed up quickly, took our order, had a great sense of humor, and brought our drinks, then our food, pretty quickly as well, surprisingly quickly for how packed the restaurant was. My pulled pork dinner was good, but not spectacular. No coleslaw, surprisingly, maybe that's not a thing in Moab. My wife's salad was quite nice. Why only four stars? The lady at the motel said their brisket was really good and recommended this place. The brisket was really expensive $30 something for 8 Oz meal and $21 for a brisket sandwich. My brisket that I make at home rivals any brisket out there. My husband ordered a burger and I had a little fries and part of a burger wrapped in lettuce. I also ordered a wedge salad. The servers are authentic, know the menu well and ensure you feel like a valued guest!! As for food, one theme stood out: Bacon and Range. Our family steered toward the wonderful chicken sandwich (gluten free bread was solid) and the Cobb Salad. The sweep potato fried are topped with a homemade sugary syrup (a bit sweet for my palate). This place is fun. Its always busy and noisy which adds to the fun environment, but expect a wait on weekends and weeks with events in town. The brisket sandwich had great flavor but the brisket was a little tough. My wifes steak was way undercooked but still delicious with the BBQ butter. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Prices are normal for a resort town. The local made desserts were great. Rich and flavorful. I feel like maybe the food prep would have been better on a less busy night. I'm clearly in the minority, but this was a disappointing experience given the glowing reviews. My primary complaint is about the quality of the food and the level of professionalism it suggests. (The setting is pleasant enough - if noisy; staff was courteous and helpful; portions are adequate but not generous. ) My wife and I had two entrees, both came with asparagus. The asparagus were barely warmed through, tough and stringy. One order came with roast potatoes that had clearly been dished out of a warming tray - not hot, not crisp, leathery and tasteless. When asked by our waiter how we liked our meal, I mentioned our disappointment and said it was just feed back; nothing need be done. But to their credit, the restaurant did discount the bill by $5. 2 Entrees (one vegetarian, one salmon), 2 beers, about $70 with tax and tip. read more

Our golden retriever loved it and they brought her out a fresh bowl of water along with our waters. We had the pleasure of being served by Melena. She was fantastic and super helpful! My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. He gave it a 4/5. Sweet potato fries had a syrup drizzle that he said was too sweet and not needed. Frequented the Broken Oar on a Tuesday night with my wife. Visiting the parks and chose Moab as our home base. The restaurant has a rustic lodge type atmosphere that sets the tone for this American cuisine restaurant. My wife chose the fish and chips and swapped out the fries for sweet potato fries which she enjoyed. They were slightly sweetened maybe with maple syrup? Different. She enjoyed her fish but chose not to eat one of the pieces because she felt it was under cooked. I chose the cheeseburger swapped out the fries for onion rings. The beer battered onion rings were perfect. Nice crisp exterior with a tender sweet onion inside. I enjoyed them. My cheeseburger was good, cooked as requested, but not over the top. Typical pub style offering. With both ordered ice teas. The wife wasn't quite the fan for the peach tea. She didn't care for the ground pieces of real peaches in her drink. Texture thing, I guess.
