We ate dinner there on a very warm summer afternoon as we were making our way from Los Angeles to Denver, with stops at national parks along the way. The food selection and proximity to our hotel attracted us, so we called and made reservations for two for about 15 minutes hence. We got there 90 seconds before our reservation time, and walked right past others waiting (they glared at us!), and got seated at a table underneath the high timber ceiling. The hostess brought water right away. Our server showed up quickly, took our order, had a great sense of humor, and brought our drinks, then our food, pretty quickly as well, surprisingly quickly for how packed the restaurant was. My pulled pork dinner was good, but not spectacular. No coleslaw, surprisingly, maybe that's not a thing in Moab. My wife's salad was quite nice. Why only four stars? Every surface, table, arms of the chairs, seats, floor, was sticky. Very sticky. Very, very sticky. Maybe it was the heat, maybe (I hate to think about it) it was something else. read more

We really liked this place. I had the beast burger which is a mix of a bunch of meats we don't get in Louisiana. The waitstaff was outstanding. Very tasty. We sat on the porch & they let our small dog stay at the table & brought him a bowl of water. They waiter was very responsive to our need and actually anticipated what we might need. The only odd thing is that they could not give us samples of their draft Beer because they are located too close to a church. read more

We got to the restaurant about 20 minutes before it closed and at no point did they make us feel rushed or uncomfortable. Our server was friendly and had a wonderful personality. We went to Moab for a few days and ate here more than once! The staff was kind, the establishment was clean, food came out quickly, and were seated immediately. I ordered the Pesto Sandwich twice, we tried the Brisket Sandwich, Wedge Salad, and Fish & Chips. The patio seating was comfortable and included a beautiful view. Sadly we were seated on the patio and forgotten. Our waiter was AWOL after taking our order. I went to the hostess stand to request the salad I ordered and the second beer my friend ordered... unfortunately this did little good.... In the end, They took the charge off the bill for the food I didn't get to eat. For Moab tourists, the cavernous log cabin feel of this restaurant makes for a great setting to take in a family meal - with a large fireplace, local photos and (of course) ubiquitous broken raft oars. The servers are authentic, know the menu well and ensure you feel like a valued guest!! As for food, one theme stood out: Bacon and Range. Our family steered toward the wonderful chicken sandwich (gluten free bread was solid) and the Cobb Salad. The sweep potato fried are topped with a homemade sugary syrup (a bit sweet for my palate). Sadly we were not impressed with anything at this place. Our server was the only good thing. He was so sweet and funny. Sadly food was not good. Fried shrimp had this weird batter that cut the roof of my mouth because it was so overfried. They claim their sweet potato fries are excellent but they just top regular soggy sweet potato fries with caramel and lemon zest. Honestly nothing special at all! Husbands fettuccine alfedo pasta was dry and needed way more sauce. Dessert was a chocolate mousse cake and it wasn't bad, but all in all I do not think we would eat here again. read more

This place is fun. Its always busy and noisy which adds to the fun environment, but expect a wait on weekends and weeks with events in town. The brisket sandwich had great flavor but the brisket was a little tough. My wifes steak was way undercooked but still delicious with the BBQ butter. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Prices are normal for a resort town. The local made desserts were great. Rich and flavorful. I feel like maybe the food prep would have been better on a less busy night. We stopped here for dinner. They are dog friendly and have a great patio with heaters to sit outside. Our golden retriever loved it and they brought her out a fresh bowl of water along with our waters. We had the pleasure of being served by Melena. She was fantastic and super helpful! She made great recommendations for beer and food. I had the salmon that came with veges and mashed potatoes. The sauce was sweet and spicy. Cooked well. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. He gave it a 4/5. Sweet potato fries had a syrup drizzle that he said was too sweet and not needed. We needed somewhere to grab dinner on our way to Canyonlands to spend some quality time catching the views and walking some trails. Food was very good; salmon dish was tasty (not the biggest portion but no complaints). Waitress was a doll and told you exactly what to order if you were waffling between two items. Frequented the Broken Oar on a Tuesday night with my wife. Visiting the parks and chose Moab as our home base. The restaurant has a rustic lodge type atmosphere that sets the tone for this American cuisine restaurant. My wife chose the fish and chips and swapped out the fries for sweet potato fries which she enjoyed. They were slightly sweetened maybe with maple syrup? Different. She enjoyed her fish but chose not to eat one of the pieces because she felt it was under cooked. I chose the cheeseburger swapped out the fries for onion rings. The beer battered onion rings were perfect. Nice crisp exterior with a tender sweet onion inside. I enjoyed them. My cheeseburger was good, cooked as requested, but not over the top. Typical pub style offering. With both ordered ice teas. The wife wasn't quite the fan for the peach tea. She didn't care for the ground pieces of real peaches in her drink. Texture thing, I guess.
