I was looking for a quick bite and noticed The Blu Pig right next to my hotel. To my surprise, their bar side of the restaurant had live music! I grabbed food to go from the restaurant and ate half of it while enjoying some incredible live acoustic music from a wonderful musician named Dave Mensch. The bar was nothing but good energy, from the bartender to the fellow patrons, everyone was quite chill and really vibing to the music. I ordered the brisket and turkey platter, which came with corn bread and 2 sides. I chose mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. If I wasn't watching the show, I would have scarfed it all down in 5 minutes it was that good. Luckily for me, I'll have having half of it for leftovers tomorrow for lunch (breakfast actually). We ate in the bar and enjoyed the ambiance. Service was poor even though it was early and the tables in the bar were nearly empty. Our server was training another at the time which was concerning. The big disappointment was the food, we had chosen to have bbq that night and among all the options we chose the Blu Pig based on the menu. We had two orders of rare prime rib (on a Sunday) and a brisket sandwich. The prime rib was not flavorful and not tender, one in our party thought it had been cooked the day before? It's offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The brisket required lots of sauce and didn't really have a hero flavor. The sides were mixed, corn muffins, baked potato and salad all good. The Mac and cheese was very bad, creamy but no real flavor. The gumbo wasn't good, it contained beef and no ocra. The only other complaint is that the only Chardonnay offer is box wine! I am sure MOAB has better BBQ. All of our other meals in town were great! read more

For one the place had very limited parking because the whole town decided to all come out and pull their chairs out all along main st and watch traffic go by. Absolutely pointless and taking parking away from customers. The service was good we had a party of more than 10 and he did a good job getting our orders correct and all out around the same time. But the worst brisket I have ever tried. Absolutely no flavor. A few got the tri tip sandwiches which looked pretty good, as well as the catfish sandwich. Overall I would just go somewhere else. Great place to end your long hiking day with some BBQ, Mete (not sure if that's how you spell his name) was incredibly nice and provided wonderful customer service, he was awesome! I highly recommend it, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich with beans and the food came out fast, it was pretty hot and delicious too. We also tried to local Blu pig beer and it was great. I am surprised of all the other reviews (the bad ones) but my experience was good. It wasn't a busy time (like 4 pm) and we did not have to ask for the check she brought it right away and checked on us regularly, I will be back at this place when I get to Moab again. read more

I went here for a solo dinner at the bar. They have live music in there nightly and the guy playing that night was really good. I loved the vibe and ambiance of the bar area. Service was attentive and friendly from the bartender. I had espresso martinis and they weren't bad but weren't great. I also got wings with blue cheese and a side salad. Salad was nice and fresh with basic salad dressing options. Wings were leathery and the meat was almost like pork not chicken... if pigs could fly lol. I have been there twice each time when I visited Moab. A fine BBQ to dine in. The ribs are pretty good but not the brisket. I do love the atmosphere in the restaurant with a bunch of blue pig elements. My two experiences are that they serve food fairly slowly, and fries can be cold. We visited Moab, UT 8/13-20. We stayed at La Quinta Inn on S. Main St. We were very fortunate that The Blu Pig Bar & BBQ Restaurant was right next door. This place was convenient, value priced, great food, excellent bar selection, and live music every evening. A restaurant side & the bar side with a patio area. Also the bar staff was great! First evening I tried the Espolon tequila, excellent. We sample their bbq brisket & turkey combo w/gumbo, cornbread , salad ($28) & honey apple cobbler ($10). Wine ($7) & draft beers & cans ($4). The waitstaff was welcoming, friendly, and excellent. Thank you April, Gloria, & Carlos. Free music every evening. The acts we heard were Community Band, Dustin Burley, Eddie Green, Alan & Valerie Brown, & the Broken Arrow Band. What a bonus! Open 7 days a week 11:30am-10pm. Plenty of parking. Very clean restrooms. This was always our last stop after a day of exploring the nearby US National Parks. We highly recommend The Blu Pig when visiting Moab, UT, USA. Second time eating their food, first time was take out. It was a full rack of ribs we ate on for 2 dinners. SO GOOD. Came in tonight for dinner and were the only ones in the bar at 4:30 pm. Had drinks and the mozzarella sticks recommended by our good waitress. They were tasty. We split the combo so we could try more proteins. So normally I love to tell you were to eat. This time think of this as your public service announcement of where not to eat. Overpriced and underwhelmed. $13 for a mediocre spiked lemonade should just about explain everything. But add to that some over cooked brisket with no smoke flavor, a very plain jane baked potato, some coleslaw, 2 corn muffins (no butter even) and 6 pretty decent garlic hot wings = $80 with tip. We wanted to love this. The idea seems great, blue, brews and bbq. How can you go wrong? Well it started with being seated away from the live music and instead hearing a generic soundtrack. Medium rare, but sorry we're out of Mac and cheese. When that arrived it was totally well done, so well done rhe manager come and apologized, so they sat and waited while we ate, and then we had to wait for them to eat there meal when it eventually arrived. My ribs were kinda dry and cold , it all seemed like as it was New Year's Eve they were just trying to clear the leftovers. The sauce bottles were also not clean and when they did come out they were so liquid. And we got charged full price for the replacement meal . Summer was our server and despite ordering a 1/2 rack of ribs for my wife and the 8oz burnt ends, she brought out the full rack of ribs and the 12 oz burnt ends and then billed us for the larger sizes. In addition she forgot to serve the gumbo side that was ordered that some reason and brought the wrong side to my wife. Food was good but disappointed that she would do that! After checking into LaQuinta, we got a 10% off card figure we'd use it at the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice. The parking lot had plenty space. There are two entrances to this place. One side is the bar the other the restaurant. They had live music playing in the bar. Because I had my son, we weren't able to check out the band. They sounded pretty good though. Service was good! Although needed to ask for sauces for our steaks, probably the biggest takeaway. I ordered the prime rib Philly. Expected to have Asus sauce. Like I've had at other restaurants. I was only given horseradish. And needed to ask for A1 or Asus. I was told by our server that she had to go back and check if they still had any?! A little confused as to why they wouldn't. Their main dish was smoked prime rib. The food was good. Not the best but okay. I'm pretty sure we've been having bad luck with our prime rib and steaks this month. We still haven't been to a restaurant who is able to serve some good, beefy and tender meats. For the prices we pay?! There's gotta be some good prime rib or steaks out there. The appetizers were awesome!!! Those mozzarella sticks?? Yeah! You gotta get them. Long and cheesy. BBQ wings, nice! We should've just stuck with the appetizers. Windows and blinds were a little dusty and not what I wanted to see while my food was just below. The drinks kept coming, so that was really nice. That we didn't have to keep asking. I didn't leave without filling my belly... Visited during Thanksgiving weekend and found the service to be good. As for the meal, the photos shown are not what you get served. It seems as though inflation has taken a strong foothold and you don't get the full effect. My wife and younger son shared a meal while myself and older son each ordered our own. My platter was the catfish with okra and fries, no flavor. The total was over $90 including tip. The place was hopping with a live band in the bar, I suppose it's a good watering hole. read more

My daughter and I split the prime rib dinner. This was nice thick slab almost 1" thick. This was served with 2 sides plus cornbread. I feel like for $30 it's a decent value and the smoked prime rib was delicious. We were a little early for the prime rib meal but Keana was super helpful in getting us ordered and taken care of. I wanted to love this place. We ordered to go food and it was ready promptly. The person at the counter was so nice and friendly. He packed the butter and sour cream separately which was very nice. The salad and cole slaw was ok, kind of hard to mess up. We got A 3 meat platter and the chicken platter. The brisket and ribs were good, the sausage was ok. The sauce was very tasty. But the chicken was the driest, toughest chicken I've had in quite a while. We got our dinner at 5 pm...there is no way this chicken was cooked today. The service was horrible! We sat at our table and felt ignored for quite awhile before we were acknowledged, almost walked out. During dinner, they didn't bring me the cornbread which always goes with bbq. The food, I got the brisket and rib combo and both meats were dry. The onion rings were ok, but the best thing I had was the side of white cheddar Mac and cheese. I wish I could have just had a bowl of that instead. Our waiter never came by and asked us if we wanted refills on our drinks either. I'm not going to ask for a refill when it's good customer service to do your job correctly if they're working for tips. Then we had to ask a table busser where we pay?
