What a dump! The Gonzo has turned into a flea bag hotel from hell and should be avoided at all costs!! Our shower didn't have a working light, so I've had the pleasure of showering in the dark. (It makes you wonder how the cleaning service is able to service the shower - or if they're able to?!?). Nickel and dimed at every turn: We were given a travel size body wash to use for two people for three days (not to mention the same for shampoo). World's worst coffee - thank goodness we were only given two days worth. No coffee in the hotel lobby, just water ($3 bottles of water in the room). And their $14 breakfast voucher system requires you to go back to the front desk daily to get a new voucher (a cereal bowl is $10 - seriously?!?). There's nothing special about this place except for their focus on hotel scam: Go to the Comfort Inn and get treated better for far less money!!! read more

Well, this is not the #2 best hotel in Moab. Single ply TP should indicate that. On Day 3 we had to request room service. I've never had to ask anywhere before, even in Europe. There is no printed message about room service, although the tip envelope is conveniently placed in the room. I also found a liquor bottle cap that was under the dinette table and not from us. The restaurant and laundry are closed. The front desk only has very, very limited hours: 7-11 AM. If you get there later in the day your room keys are in a manila envelope where just about anyone has access to them. Very odd, not having the front desk staffed. They do, however, offer a voucher coupon to use at their food truck about 2 blocks away on Main St. Very good coffee and breakfast sandwiches. The Jacuzzi is open and the pool not: expected in the winter time. Very quiet stay in a Rim View room. Lots of restaurants still open, even during "winter". I think the hotel is also for sale or at least partial ownership. read more

We had planned to camp at green river for the long weekend and had some car trouble which forced us to tow the vehicle back to Moab. We had stayed at The Gonzo several times years ago and decided to see if they had a room just so we could re-evaluate our weekend plans. We were able to book the last room available and so glad we did. The pool at the gonzo is so relaxing and perfect. The hotel is right in town but just off the main drag enough to be away from the noise and chaos of Main Street Moab. The staff, Al and Deniz specifically, were so welcoming and helpful for our entire stay. The Gonzo is the best hotel experience in Moab! $400 for one night in a room full of bugs is horrible. I even went to the counter and asked them to do something about it. They all but laughed at me, saying they've never heard that, and literally asked if bugs in the room is even that big of a deal... we stayed here on our wedding night, so we got there after 10 and didn't have the option of getting help. We got bitten by mosquitoes all night. Having a bathroom and room full of bugs, followed by a condescending desk girl asking if bugs in the room are even a big deal, is an absolutely horrible experience. We will never be back. In response to the business reply: I asked for a partial refund and never received even a call from management, which I was promised. We did not open any doors or windows in the room, and trying to twist this into being our fault further shows your lack of commitment to giving a quality experience to your guests. There were dozens of mosquitoes in our hotel room, and you saying there were none is a complete lie. I gave them every chance to make it right before writing reviews, and as mentioned, they were condescending, never reached out, and never helped make it right. read more

Had a three day stay here and had zero problems. The staff are extremely attentive and friendly. It seems there's not enough they can do for you. Their concern is genuine, asking several times daily if everything is to our liking and adding if there is anything more we need, let them know. The rooms are comfortable and clean. I would rate the Gonzo Inn 'zero' if that was possible. In summary (Full details below): If you try to book directly thru the hotel online (Gonzoinn.com): 1) the hotel site goes directly, without notification, to a third party reservation site. AND, 2) when contacted, Gonzo Inn gave me the INCORRECT site - Booking.com. I spent hours trying to cancel my (fully cancelable) 5th night with a site that never had the reservation. But when I arrived at the Gonzo Inn they told me that they had heard from "Booking.com this morning! and your 5th night has been successfully canceled." They refused to give me a copy of the email they had received for "privacy reasons". (See below for additional refusal to give me full check-out summary (Actual charge for room $753.70/night; on invoice "Room Non-Taxable for $ 507/night). When I returned home, the full 5 nights was on my American Express bill. I disputed it and sent all documentation- emails and phone verification to Booking.com. I did this twice because AmEx found "as the merchant has no record of attempts to reach him" they reversed the credit. I have AmEx Platinum and when I called the 3rd time ready to cancel my card because I had submitted all my documention TWICE, they did a deep dive and found that the reservation had been made through Reservations.com. Gonzo Inn was inept, incorrect and unhelpful. Blow by blow details: I made a reservation thru the hotel directly (gonzoinn.com) for 5 nights in September. I specifically did not use a 3rd party (e.g. Expedia). Two weeks prior to my arrival I called to cancel the 5th night. (The rate quoted on the site was $507; the actual rate with taxes etc was $753.70) No problem said the person who answered the phone. But when he checked he said no, the rez had been made through Booking.com. I insisted it had not but he said it had and gave me the "Booking.com reservation number" When I contacted Booking.com (all AI powered, can NOT reach a live rep or live chat) I was informed I needed a PIN which was located on the "confirmation email". I had no confirmation email as I hadn't booked with Booking.com (B.c). And I couldn't get a "re-send" confirmation per B.c's automated instructions because there was no reservation! I called Gonzo Inn back and again they told me it definitely was made through B.c I called AmEx Platinum who told me they couldn't help because it was a third party reservation. I called the hotel and Alp, one of the desk managers, literally yelled at me. I emailed B.com for the 3rd time (because there was no PIN, there was no way of reaching them) and received a letter back apologizing for the difficulty and just give them the PIN number. I gave up. When I arrived at the hotel and gave my name, Alp, came around the desk beaming and said "Great news! we just heard from Booking.com and your 5th night is canceled at no charge. I was thrilled and asked for a copy or proof of the email. He said he couldn't give it to me because the contract was between the hotel and Booking. When I said I needed some kind of confirmation, he breezily said "Oh, it's confirmed." I asked that he give me a full invoice for the 4 days at the end and he said no problem. When I checked out, the person at the desk said no, that she didn't know anything about it and it was all pre-paid anyway. I insisted and she (reluctantly) printed out an invoice with not the full $753.70 charge but the "Room Non-taxable" only which was $485 (first night) and $507 remaining nights. See above for why I could not get credit from AmEx because GONZO INN GAVE me WRONG booking site AFTER I HAD BOOKED "DIRECTLY" with them. read more

We were traveling with our Golden Retriever, and they were completely accommodating and dog-friendly. The best was having a ground floor room, which had a back patio to relax in as well as a grass area just steps away. The location is perfect, walking distance to town and the staff and owner are so friendly and nice. We can't wait to return! read more

We stayed at the Gonzo for 4 nights while visiting Moab in mid May. We had a great stay in a standard suite. We had plenty of room and all the amenities that we needed. The hotel provided coupons for breakfast at three different restaurants. These were good for $14 toward anything on the menu, for each guest each morning. The pool was fantastic. It is a salt water pool so you don't feel like you need a shower when you get out. There is also plenty of shady area to relax by the pool. All of the staff was very helpful and pleasant. This was a really cute spot right in downtown. There's a pool and hot tub but the pool is NOT HEATED and it is not open during fall/winter. My room was clean. Every room feels like a little condo because it comes with a little patio. They give you a breakfast voucher for each day you stay which gets you breakfast at the cafe at the Gonzo. The food was good but mediocre, mostly breakfast sandwiches and pastries. There's way better food elsewhere if you've got dough to spend and time, but this was still a great deal. The room was clean and the bed was probably the most comfy bed i've ever slept int including my own bed. There's a patio with a fire pit. It's very close to the main strip in downtown and a drug/grocery store so you don't need to drive for anything. The staff are SO FRIENDLY. I'm only giving 4 stars because the walls are very thin and you hear EVERYTHING. They allow dogs which is great for folks with dogs but not great for people who want some peace and quiet. If you're a light sleeper- bring ear plugs and a sound machine or sleep with noise canceling headphones. read more

We had a suite with a Creekside view. The kids had so much fun playing on the big lawn and throwing rocks into the creek. The room was like a home away from home, coffee machine, dishes, comfortable bedding, everything was very clean and I especially appreciated the blackout curtains. It is an extremely dog friendly hotel, we did report to the management that we had issues with our neighbors and their dogs barking nonstop at 6:30 in the morning. They offered to move us into a better room, and even brought us some wine and chocolates as an apology. I appreciate that they really want their guests to be happy. 10/10 would recommend. read more

From check in to check out, the outstanding staff did a wonderful job! They were very helpful and friendly. We shared a corner two bedroom unit that was perfect for two couples traveling together. Every little detail had been thought of from the quality of the sheets and towels to the bathroom amenities. All of them top notch! Booked an evening through booking.com because it's pet friendly. Paid for the room and then had to pay $40 pet fee upon arrival, wasn't stoked on that part. They did give us (2) $14 vouchers for Cafe Italiano located in the lobby, we got a vanilla latte w/breve, a smoothie and the American breakfast which was all covered with the vouchers! Room #109 is a suite and the back door patio leads straight to the pool which is a plus. I can't say enough about our time at the Gonzo Inn. We stayed for the second time last week. Last time was as a couple, and this time with kids. Room was spacious and comfortable. Our upstairs room had two balconies overlooking the pool. We loved sitting on the chairs on the balcony enjoying drinks together. The staff was very kind, and they have lots of cool gifts in the reception area. The $14 breakfast voucher purchased some great breakfast to help fuel our day of adventures. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Gonzo Inn for one night. When we arrived around 3:30pm, we were given bottled water at the front desk because there was no water anywhere in the hotel. No showers, no flushing of toilet, no using of sink. There were paper signs around the hotel saying that water would be off for maintenance that would be over by 4pm. The water was very much not back on by 4pm. It still wasn't back by 6pm or 6:30pm. I reached out to the Gonzo Inn after my stay to request a partial refund. A representative called to discuss my request and told me that the issue was the result of the flooding in Moab....that had happened a week and a half prior. When I asked why we hadn't been notified in advance of the issue, I was told that they knew that the day before our visit that they wouldn't have water, but they didn't reach out to any guests because they "didn't want to bother their guests." read more

Liz at the Gonzo Inn's attention to detail, problem solving with empathy and compassion for my situation was incredibly helpful. She is kind and solution oriented. I have been platinum at Marriott for a very long time, they didn't assist me. Liz crushed it. She is awesome and she needs a raise. The hotel was downtown and an extremely reasonable price. It's nice to have a truly dog friendly place to stay when road tripping with our pup and on that measure, the Gonzo Inn is as good as they come. A welcome pouch for our pup with treats and a map of dog friendly spots in Moab -- it was thoughtful and a mark of true hospitality! But what impressions they made there were quickly eaten away at by the broken (and thus hanging) cabinet door in our room, the lack of blankets for the pull-out bed and -- and this might seem like a nitpick -- but the exclusive use of extremely bright WHITE light in every single lamp and overhead light in the room. It all made for a very jarring experience and was not on par with the greeting and thoughtfulness of the first impression! We will try to stay elsewhere when visiting Moab again. Wonderful and unique Gonzo Inn was the perfect place to enjoy a long weekend. Close enough to walk to many shops and restaurants in town. We also used it as a base camp for visiting Arches National Park. The decor matches the name: Gonzo. It is tasteful and centrists with a hint of steam punk to make it interesting. The front desk personnel are always pleasant and welcoming. We would like to return and use the pool/hot tub next time. I absolutely adored this hotel. The rooms are small but FULL of natural light from all the windows. Cute little patios a nice pool area and the free breakfast is top notch! This is a cute and cozy place. The reason I am giving this 2 stars is due to having 50+ elm bugs crawling all over the room, including in the bed. They were EVERYWHERE! This is not exactly the way to get a good nights sleep! I called the after hours phone number hoping to talk to someone about getting a refund so that I could go find another place to stay that night. Nobody answered. I then text the number (it was an iPhone) the message was read but nobody ever replied. Don't have your number listed as an after hours number if you don't plan on answering calls!
