Delicious breakfast and quick service. Easy to get a table on a Thursday. Had a classic breakfast and especially loved the ginger pancakes with apple butter. Great fall breakfast! read more

Jailhouse Cafe - Classic two egg breakfast - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Moab, Utah

Popped in on a Saturday morning expecting it to be busy but we were seated right away! They promptly brought us waters and drinks, and our food came out in what felt like five minutes. The staff was also super friendly! My only complaint is that I'm a little picky about how I like my Benedict and there was very little hollandaise sauce. That's definitely more of a personal preference though. Overall the food was really good and we had a great experience! read more

It has been five years since I've been to Moab and a lot has changed. Jailhouse Cafe has been our go to breakfast place for at least 10 years. The food taste was still decent. However, the prices have absolutely skyrocketed. We paid five dollars each for some pretty fair tasting coffee. The omelette I used to order is now close to $20. The portion seemed quite a bit smaller too For breakfast for the two of us it was over 50 bucks. We used to have to wait at least an hour for breakfast but this time there was absolutely no wait. I'm wondering if due to the rising meal costs if that's impacting the number of customers coming in the door. I am not sure if I would come back again in the future, which is such a shame. read more

Perhaps this place had a hey day and it was some time ago? Hard to be happy with a $5 coffee that tastes like a $.75 one. Nor the 'fresh oj' for $6 that was clearly from a super market container. The scramble wasn't bad but my guess is that they have a number of dishes in the back under heat lamps? I saw a woman order her meal and it came out with toast that could not have been created in the time between her ordering and it being made. Bummer - it could be a better place but there are excellent places in Moab so better to spend your time there. read more

Jailhouse is apparently an institution of Moab. It was a good breakfast/brunch place for what we wanted. It was good but not super special. Mostly typical eggs, omelets, pancakes and waffle. Fairly pricey, but comparable to other spots in town. If you like this kind of food, it's worth stopping in. Our service was friendly. And the restaurant itself was cute. read more

Here is the most honest review you'll get. We got here on Monday 9:20am. Stopped in because it was packed. We only waited 5 mins. Got seated but then had to wait awhile before we got asked if we wanted anything. Ordered 2 cups of 5 buck coffee. It was decent. Then we ordered a stack of pancakes (4). It was 15 bucks for very basic pancakes. Pricey. Ordered side of bacon (3) strips for 8 bucks. This was some of the best bacon I've ever had. Very very good. Ordered a omelette. Omelette was small but good. Toast was super cold. Potato's were cold and had very good flavors. Spicy. Perfect however cold. Overall this is not a typical greasy spoon restaurant. Good had great flavors but over priced. I most likely will never come again. 3 stars. Bacon was amazing. Vibe was excellent. Music. . Food was. Basic. read more

A fun and interesting place with friendly staff and great t shirts for sale too. The food was good quality and well presented, I loved the Ginger pancakes especially! Nice Latte too . Well priced. read more

This restaurant is known for their Eggs Benedict, Swedish Pancakes and their thick bacon. We ordered 2 of these items and agreed with the recommendations. The Eggs Benedict are really so delicious. They use a non-traditional hollandaise sauce which, amazingly amped up the flavor of the eggs! And the eggs were perfectly made so that the whites were thoroughly cooked and the yolk was runny. Odd, but this is a difficult thing to get in a restaurant. The meal was served with delicious home fries where the potatoes were moist and flavored. We also ordered a side of their thick bacon, which had a bit of a different flavor - very nice. The bacon was perfectly cooked. We took a chance on the egg scramble, which had lots of promise with the many ingredients listed, but the eggs were overcooked and dry, so the other ingredients couldn't compensate. They served the eggs with a very nice bread for their toast. We almost didn't come here as we only saw the side of the building, which was a very small house looking structure. But as you continue down the street, you can see that they have expanded their restaurant to include the dining area: an "inside" area and a patio area. All of this new structure is glass or plastic windows, they have heating and cooling to accommodate for the time of day and they did a great job of making a pleasant eatery. Everyone we met at the restaurant was pleasant and kind. It was such an enjoyable time. We have a few more days in Moab, so we will be back. read more

I Loved the Okura Special! For dinner Hubby and I shared a Kaizen Burger and it was so good we wished we had order two! Next morning we had breakfast LOVED the the Famous Soul Food Bacon! I had the two eggs any style, Chef sent me two beautiful Sunnyside up eggs with yummy potatoes. Hubby had two eggs scrambled with properly prepared sausage patties and fresh tomatos. He was a very happy man. Service was excellent and fast. We will have another breakfast tomorrow. And the place used to be real Jailhouse! read more

Really good service is the hallmark of this place as are the pancakes. We tried the Swedish pancakes with lingonberry jam. They were very good - served hot and fresh, light and thin. While the flavor is the same as a regular pancake, the thinness was unique. We ate the chorizo scramble which was hearty and savory. Lattes were great! Friendly service and good, down home feel. read more

Decent breakfast and coffee. We ordered take out one morning. The order was correct and food was good, but was a bit over-priced for the quality, in my opinion. If you're looking for decent breakfast and aren't price sensitive, there's nothing wrong with Jailhouse. I wouldn't necessarily choose to go back there, though, unless there weren't other options. read more

Great service, Jessica was awesome. We had a lovely breakfast, superior coffee! We heard about the eggs Benedict and they lived up to their fame - the Spanish chorizo eggs Benedict were insane. Also, do not miss the Swedish pancake as well as the ginger pancake with apple butter - unusual in the most delicious way you can possibly imagine. Great place! read more

Very nice cafe with a diverse menu for everyone. Arik handles the floor great and the chef is excellent. Very worthwhile stop.

Delicious breakfast in Moab! The ginger pancakes with the apple butter was phenomenal and the Benedict was flavorful. Even without a side of sausage or eggs, the pancakes were very filling. The tea was just Tazo, which was good but I was hoping for lose leaf for the price. Service was quick and the venue was quite charming. I appreciated that even in the new wing, they stayed true to the historic house with a metal relief ceiling nice touch. read more

Loved everything about this place. Had breakfast here all three days. Tried the egg scramble and chorizo scramble, Southwest eggs benedict and 2 eggs any style (Sunny side up.) Good size portions, perfectly cooked, seasoned beautifully. And their signature side of bacon is worth the price, the best bacon I've had in a long time. Setting is great, as is the service. read more

Don't judge from the exterior! Best breakfast we had all week in Moab. Omelets with fresh spinach, mushrooms were made perfectly. Potatoes had just the right amount of spice, whole grain toast was crispy and pancakes were bouncy with texture! Waitress was attentive- wish I remembered her name- started with a "J". They have two auxiliary canvas draped eating areas besides the main building, so there's plenty of space. Not fancy if that's what you want. My only improvement would be to have flavored creamers available- but I am high maintenance with my coffee- . read more

Best breakfast, we're from out of state and we all loved our food and coffees. The Carmel lattes were amazing.

Great place to fuel up before hitting the Arches National Park. The chorizo burrito was hearty without being too heavy. The potatoes were great too with a southwest seasoning. Coffee was also very good. Others at the table enjoyed their meals as well. Not too long of a wait and service was good. read more

We had breakfast there. The politest servers. So often, omelettes are scrambled eggs folded into the omelette shape at many diners. Here, it's a real omelette. The poached eggs on the Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked. Coffee was good, also. We had a wonderful breakfast. read more

This cute little breakfast place was the perfect end to my Moab trip. A classic American style breakfast joint. I got a hot latte and the eggs florentine, both were great. My cousin got buttermilk pancakes and she loved them, super fluffy! They had lots of servers working, so we didn't wait long for our food and drinks. There was a short wait on a Sunday morning, but they still got us seated quickly. Awesome place! read more

The Jailhouse cafe is a true historic site to Moab. Its menu consists of a Santa Fe flavor in its western style breakfast menu. The staff were really nice and friendly. They don't make you feel rushed to finish your meal, although busy. The Jailhouse has a bit of seating but there is additional seating that is covered outdoors. This is perfect for an early bird since it's open early in the morning and they close around 2pm for the day. read more

I saw best eggs Benedict claim here so I decided to try it since I am an eggs Benedict snob. I came at 10 am and was seated immediately, there was no line. The ambiance is cute coffee shop with a little feel of a diner. Server came right the way and I ordered macchiato coffee and the chorizo eggs Benedict. Coffee came right the way and it was absolutely delicious, great aroma and nice low acidity. The meal came shortly after with potatoes. I asked for extra hollandaise sauce as the chorizo was a little overpowering and I couldn't taste it and I love some good hollandaise. Ok hands down I have to say the hollandaise sauce was amazing. Light and fresh, perfect amount of spiciness and no cheating with flour. If you love eggs Benedict like me, there were 3 choices and if you love chorizo you have to try this ones! read more

We got there as they opened, and it was full by the time we left. Tip: Go early or expect a wait. The food was great. Comforting and a lot of it. We were promptly seated and the actual building is really cool. It's a mix of indoor, outdoor and open air seating. It took forever to get someone to come to our table and to get coffee. I came in and had the Southwestern Eggs Benedict. It was really good and cooked perfectly. I loved the taste of the unique chipotle hollandaise sauce. The downside was the lack of coffee refills and very inattentive service. It seemed like the server just expected our business and didn't need to try to provide a good experience. I am in Moab about 6-10 times a year. Unfortunately, I will not be coming back here due to the poor service. read more

UPDATE: my husband saw a waiter pour someone else's left over coffee in the coffee pot!!!!!!! Food was classic American breakfast type, potato's could have been cooked longer were kinda hard. Other than that pretty good and basic. Services was not as good as the food. I believe we were racially profiled because tell me why our server was not very kind to us the table not 2 feet away she was way more friendly. Maybe she was having a bad day and I just continued to thank her for taking care of us but was continuously ignored. Cute little area needs some music in the more open part. Was very awkward and way too quiet. read more

Great dinner restaurant find in Moab!!!! We stumbled upon the Jailhouse Cafe, which looked like a good breakfast restaurant and noticed that they were now serving dinner. We walked in to check out their menu, which looked good, we then flipped our lucky coin, and it was heads, so the coin said to go for it. Now I must admit, I'm very picky when it comes to food, and was pleasantly surprised by our experience. I ordered a french style salad that had spinach, chopped hard boiled eggs and bacon. The salad and the french dressing was very fresh and amazing! We also had their hamburger with bacon, which includes shoestring french fries, which was also very good. We had a very nice glass of Napa, Alexander Valley cabernet, which was a great complement to our meal. I am giving the Jailhouse Cafe a 5-star rating for their great food with fresh tasting ingredients, their outstanding/welcoming staff, for the pleasant and relaxing background music--All made a great dinner experience after a long day out on the trails. Jeremy our waiter, was very friendly and welcoming. read more

The jailhouse Café is a popular restaurant in Moab. It's worth checking out. I would say they are most famous for their bacon, so be sure to get that as a side dish if it's not included with your meal. I got the waffles, but they were out of their mix so they did something different. There is only parking on the street, which was a little frustrating sense downtown. Moab is crowded. I tried to use the restroom twice and there was a line both times which was also frustrating. I would definitely go back and maybe try something different next time. read more

Great service and excellent breakfast. The eggs Benedict was very good. My wife had the waffle with fruit, plus beacon. All very good.

Showed up right before close and was still greeted with a smile. They have their own coffee blend that was sweet and light. It's unlimited refills as well. My meal was one of the Benedict's and a side of yogurt that was great after a day of hiking around Arches. They also have a variety of hot sauces if you like some spice. read more
