We stumbled upon Pasta Jay's while visiting in the middle of June. It's a corner restaurant with lots of outdoor seating. Even with the Summer heat, it was so nice sitting outside and people watching. We definitely had the Pesto Pasta, I believe the other dish was the Eggplant Parmigiana. Both were very good! Im actually shocked by the Yelp reviews because I thought the food had a lot of flavor and soul to it. Maybe it was because we had finished a 5 mile hike early in the morning and had our first meal here, but the food was great! All the servers were fantastic too. The interior is cheesy and the seating was a bit tight inside The food was very okay- the pizza was very thin with little flavor, and the mushrooms on top seemed to be from a can and not fresh. The salad was strange with no dressing on top and seemingly large food items thrown on top instead of chopped up. So I have this theory that places that are rated 3.8-4.2 stars are some of the best food I'll ever have in America lol. Backstory to give credibility... my grandparents are from Italy and own an Italian restaurant and my husband and I have been to Italy.... Anyway! We got the Chicken Pesto Tortellone and it was hands down some of the BEST tortellone we've ever had. The sauce was pesto Gorgonzola and it was the perfect consistency, usually sauces with Gorgonzola are either too runny or too thick but this was PERFECT. The portions were HUGE, it came with garlic bread ( the bread was cold but the pasta was so good who gives a d***) . What a nice experience at pasta jays! When I looked at the menu I could see right away it was American Italian and not traditional dishes but that's what made this experience special. I had the dinner salad and the green chili ravioli. All meals come with garlic bread which was great to soak up the extra sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly which isn't always easy when it is baked. Sometimes it will come out soggy. Not this pasta! It had just enough hint of that green chili. It hit the spot! Omar was my server on the patio who was friendly and attentive! I sat with my very well behaved pup in her carrier. The main road is noisy but to be expected with semi traffic and those loud off road 4x4s. If you want a more quiet experience u could ask for indoor seating. I loved it. read more

Was a bit underwhelmed by the food here if I'm being honest. What I ordered: Pasta a la genovese with chicken (27): fresh mushrooms & artichoke hearts sauteed in tomato sweet basil sauce served over your choice of pasta. For an entree that's nearly $30 I would have expected something that I couldn't have easily made at home myself. The dish wasn't very well seasoned and the chicken seemed to be simply boiled or baked, not sauteed or grilled like one might expect. If I had a friend who was traveling to Moab and asked for a dinner recommendation, I would probably tell them to skip this spot and try something else. read more

We came here because it was Christmas Eve day and Antica was closed. We loved it and ate way more than we were thinking we could. We had a huge salad to start. Then my husband ordered the chicken Parmesan and I had the eggplant Parmesan. Both of them were absolutely delicious and I ended up eating all my eggplant. Both of them came with a side of pasta, which was cooked perfectly al dente. Service was great and attentive! We finished the meal sharing the lemon berry cake that was surprisingly tasty and not too sweet. We didn't used the restrooms, but the place looked overall nice and clean. We went here after a long day of hiking and it hit the spot! We got the antipasto salad to start and it was filled with a bunch of toppings and was so big the plate barely fit on the table. There was a ton of meat and vegetables on it and came with enough dressing to cover it all. We also got the garlic bread with 3 dipping sauces. All 3 had unique and taste flavors. Our favorite was the Alfredo. For entrees we got the chicken parm and Alfredo. We ate it all we were so hungry. The sauces you can tell are home made (in a good way). We weren't expecting much being in a small town but this place was spot on for some good Italian food. Overall i recommend this place for anyone looking for food Italian food in moab! We were in Moab for Father's Day, and went here for lunch. I liked the cool little downtown area of Moab. Kind of reminded me of downtown Scottsdale in AZ. Anyways..........we were seated right away and service was on top of it and friendly the whole visit. To eat, I went with the Hagan Option (3 items) and chose manicotti, stuffed shells and chicken parmigiana as my 3. I went with the tomato cream sauce (well worth the $2.00 extra). My wife and kids split a pizza. How was it? Hagan- Bomb! One of the best pasta dishes I have ever had. The manicotti and stuffed shells were stuffed with a wonderful ricotta and then topped with a lot of melty cheese and that bomb tomato cream sauce. The chicken parmigiana was nice and crispy, perfectly cooked, flat out delicious. I LOVED this dish. Pizza- They do a thinner crust pizza. Nice char on the bottom of the pizza. My kids and wife thought the toppings were good, but weren't the biggest fan of the dough/crust (I was....they just have whack tastebuds sometimes lol). Would definitely come back if I'm in Moab again. This was my favorite meal of our quick 4 day vacation. read more

Pasta Jay's is one of those Italian places you just want to come back to after a long day at work, or after a long time away from Moab. My friends and I missed it every day when we were in the Sierra Foothills of California. If you're coming to eat something low calorie, light, and healthy this is not that place. This restaurant is homey and feels like eating with family. My first time I ordered the pesto ravioli and second time I ordered one of the spicy red sauce sausage pastas. Literally the best pasta spot in Utah. I not a huge pasta fan but every time we visit Moab we make sure to stop at Pasta Jays. The service was great, and the ambiance was nice. We went in November during a colder month but they had a closed patio and ceiling heaters to keep us warm and cosy. We came with a large group and the accommodated us just fine. read more

After hiking around Arches National Park, my family and I went here because they had gluten free options for my mom. They provide indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to sat indoor because it was too hot. The food was delicious. I ordered the tortellone alfredo and my mom ordered the pesto sausage pizza with gluten free crust. Wow, the food was great! The alfredo sauce with the stuffed cheese pasta with add on chicken was perfect. The chefs cooked it just right. For the pizza, the gluten free crust was worth it. Everything went well. Too much carbs though, need to eat in moderation. They are slightly slower with service but understandable. This place is packed. Very homey place, also has a bar. Pasta Jay's... first of all, amazing how it's not called Jay's Pasta. I don't know why... I just love it. My theory is that Jay is short for Jesus, as I went there on Easter and felt his presence. He was most definitely trying to give my table a taste of what it would feel like to burn in hell for not being in church on his big day of resurrection in the form of outdoor heaters BLASTING on a 70 degree day. Once the food came out, two words: pasta sweats (non-derogatory). And garlic bread WITH the meal?? You'd think we weren't even in a recession. I do think that Jesus would come here if he was around. We both went with the Hagan Option, so we got to try a variety: manicotti, chicken parmesan, eggplant parmesan, meatballs, and jumbo stuffed shells. Everything was really good, but the manicotti was my favorite; the filling was spot on and the pasta tasted so fresh. All of our meals came with garlic bread that we felt was not very garlicky but was good for soaking up some of the delicious sauce. Pizza here was better than I expected it to be. It is thin crust but not dry or cracker, and sure it was a bit floppy and on the greasy side. But the mozzarella was quality and sauce tasted nice. Baked lasagna came boiling in marinara, but first time around it wasn't cooked all the way through. After a second bake, flavor was just okay. Light on noodles and heavy on the ricotta, if you prefer your lasagna to have no texture besides runny sauce and creamed cheese then you'll like it. We didn't so much. Atmosphere inside is classically styled, and while fine, this place is all about the Main Street patio and people watching. Except the metal patio chairs are hard and super uncomfortable. A bit disappointed that vegan/vegetarian options are not marked on the menu, but I appreciated that our server let us know that the marinara (often a safe vegetarian option) has fish sauce in it.
