They had plenty of outside area (a patio with seating and some open space where you can enjoy a drink while waiting to find a seat somewhere) which was perfect for me because I got a cocktail and Togo food. Lots of people had raved about the Massaman katsu curry so I had to try it! It did not disappoint! At first I was disappointed to see how full the bowl was but the amount was PLENTY! I was immediately impressed by the atmosphere, as the place definitely has great vibes, and I loved that they had a wide variety of different beers on tap to choose from. I also really appreciated that they had hard kombucha on tap, which was a unique and welcome option for me. I spent most of my time out on the outdoor patio, which is very nice and was filled with lots of people hanging out, making for a really lively and fun environment. However, my biggest complaint about this place was that the food was pretty bad; while I understand that it's primarily just a brewery, I was still quite disappointed by the quality, especially since the menu items were not cheap. We were visiting downtown Grand Junction, CO, and happened upon Trail Life Brewing. It caught our eye because they were jammed with people. Also because my husband and I are big outdoor nature people. They have a nice craft beer selection including two of my favorite beers of all time, Oskar Blues Death by Coconut , and Left Hand Brewing's Milk Stout. Located downtown. They have inside and outside seating. You order at the counter and then find a spot to sit. They bring your food out. I ordered a beer and a slush for my drinks. For my food, I had the Brussels sprouts and the katsu banh mi. The Brussels sprouts: definitely a must. So good. Perfectly seasoned. The portion is shareable. The katsu banh mi. I made mine vegan. They replaced the chicken with tofu steaks. The do tofu steaks were thick. The French bread was soft. The flavors were great. It came with a side of fries or a salad. I opted for the salad. The salad was a good size. The Mexican lager (porch pounder) is made by them. It is light. They did offer a lime which I recommend. The slush was bourbon type. It wasn't overly sweet. Parking is street parking, but you may have to walk a few blocks. A lot of their dishes can be made vegan or vegetarian. The outside is dog friendly. Everyone we encountered was helpful. read more

Much of it is stand alone restaurant level great food. The dishes weired best were the Falafel Wrap and Katsu Bahn Mi. The tofu cutlets in the BahnMi were substantial and satisfying with tasty other items in the sandwich. It was my favorite item at this meal, with the falafel being by next favorite. I really liked that the menu is clearly marked which items can be made vegan on request, and when placing the order theircrew is happily accommodating of such requests. Legit... the beer, the food, the ambiance. And I'm a snob when it comes to all 3. I tried the juicy IPA, the stout, and the black IPA... they don't charge for tastings (I would have tried more had I not had a hangry 11 year old at my side.). Went with the black IPA and my husband had the Mexican lager- also solid. The food: not a single bad bite. I had the bahn mi, my husband had the chicken katsu and our son had the burger. I was fortunate to try all three after using my best puppy dog eyes and eyeing longingly at their food. Sooooooooo good. Gluten free buns! YAY!! And the fries! There are not enough of these fries in the universe. Even the side salad was delicious: so fresh and so clean clean. Ten out of ten would recommend and repeat. This was our second time coming back--and definitely not the last! I love that they have great cider options (finally, something I can actually drink!). You really can't go wrong with their food. I had the Trail Burger with a gluten-free bun and it was delicious. So flavorful and satisfying. Super fun local place with awesome food and brews . Stopped here with my family and they accommodated our party of 9 no problem! The decor and atmosphere are top notch. It may look small but it's bigger than you think. I had the trail burger with fries and it was fantastic! They do the little things right and that makes a big difference. Trail Life Brewing is a new brewery in Grand Junction. They opened six months ago and have hit the ground running. Great beer, creative food and a comfortable environment. Sign me up! One of my favorite restaurants nearby was closed for the season, so we pulled up Yelp and boom, Trail Life Brewing appeared. We had to make it back to Denver the same night, which means we couldn't indulge in multiple beers. And boy, that was our loss because what we tried was amazing! It's an open, casual space and you order your food and drink at the counter. It actually shares space with an outdoor, ski/bike shop that you can see through huge windows behind the bar. After you order, the staff will run the beverages and food to your table. After all the hiking we recently did, I had no complaints with them bringing it directly to us! + Glazy Hazy // Hazy IPA brewed with oats, wheat and ubiquitous amounts of El Dorado and Citrus hops, then double dry hopped to achieve a burst of aroma. Citrusy, hoppy and I love IPA's with oats in them because it gives a great mouthfeel. If we were staying in Grand Junction I would've had three more! + Thai Chicken Ciabatta // Thai marinated grilled chicken, pickled vegetables, peanut sauce, cilantro, cilantro lime aioli on toasted ciabatta. This is kind of like an American style take on a Banh Mi. And damn it was delicious! The ciabatta bread was the perfect vessel to hold the juicy chicken and accoutrements. For $16 I couldn't even finish the whole sandwich, but that's probably because the shoestring fries were ADDICTIVE. Too legit to quit! I can see this place becoming a local haunt. I can't think of one thing to knock. Wish I lived in Grand Junction to get the full Trail Life experience, but for now I'll keep this bookmarked for when I'm passing through! read more

Really loved this place! What started with our selected restaurant being closed, ended with a fine meal and a new favorite spot in GJ! Coming back from Moab, my fellow Matt C and ai were parched. Desert air and hiking got to us! Luckily Trail Life was on the horizon! Located right downtown, they are a new brewery sharing space with a bike/outdoor shop! So that's an automatic star! The bar staff was really friendly and enjoyed their job. I got a flight of a blonde, red ale, IPA, and Imperial. Love the drink holder! The whole place had nice decor and was authentic feeling. Also nabbed a vege burger. Double stars since they don't charge extra for an Impossible patty! The burger and beers were great, and would have been fine in their own. But the real highlight of the meal has to be them shoestring fries! You don't expect great fries but I was in awe! Along with their homemade free fry sauce, that was a big bonus!
