We stopped at Prohibition Kitchen in St. Augustine and had a really solid experience overall. The place has a great atmosphere dark, vintage speakeasy vibe with live music, neon accents, and a lively energy that makes it feel more like a night-out destination than just a restaurant. The food was good across the board. The burgers stood out as the highlight juicy, flavorful, and cooked well. The fries and appetizers were also solid, and portions were generous enough to leave satisfied. The drink menu is extensive too, with a strong cocktail selection that fits the whole Prohibition theme. Service was friendly and generally on point, even though it was busy. The staff kept things moving and checked in without being intrusive.

Really enjoyed our stop at Prohibition Kitchen! We unfortunately got there a little too early on Sunday for drinks, but the food definitely made up for it. The deviled eggs, wings, and shrimp cocktail were all great, and we enjoyed every bite. Definitely a spot we'd come back to, just a little later next time so we can try the cocktails too!

Weekend nights are the busiest here so had to wait thirty minutes but got a great table with a perfect view of the live band "Thelonious Crunk" playing classic cover songs. The male server was attentive and competent but my craft beer was poured as a low abv sour and not my Swamphead IPA hazy request, which was switched out quickly. My Prohibition Burger & Egg was seasoned perfectly and the boiled cajun peanuts had a nice unexpected spicy kick. Aside from the tasty eats, the beautiful 1920's themed bar is notably a mixologists dream. Maybe add a true Speak Easy to the place which would be a cool addition. There was a walk thru to a pricey steakhouse, but not hidden so not really a Speak Easy concept if that was the intent.

Our server Joseph was absolutely amazing! A group of 8 of us came in for food and drinks and we could not have had a better experience. He started out with the specials and was extremely welcoming. Not only were his drink recommendations great with adding the baileys to the espresso martinis, but the food was excellent as well. From the service from Joseph to the atmosphere this place is a must visit! Shoutout to Joseph again and would highly recommend coming here locally or out of town.

Our server was amazing, great sense of humor and on top of everything. The food was really good and the milkshakes "bring all the boys to the yard". I had the PK SIGNATURE BURGER .5 lb. house blend of short rib, brisket, sirloin, smoked bacon red onion jam, fried egg & red dragon cheese. The Red Dragon Cheese really sets this burger off. It was so damn good. Add in great live music and I'm hooked.

First time here with a group of 11. They had live music playing. Server was friendly. We waited a while for our food. Food was good but nothing special. Everyone at the table felt differently about their food. One person felt their food was bland. While another person enjoyed their salad. I enjoyed my hamburger. The fried green tomatoes were a little disappointing as it didn't taste like traditional southern restaurants. The beer cheese soup was nothing to write home about.

Love the ambiance, the music and historical detail of the restaurant... has this video that takes you back in time but, with a modern twist.

OH MY GOODNESS! When I tell you I know EXACTLY what I would choose if I were to be stranded on an island..it's this drink! I ordered the Hibiscus Spritz and safe to say it was the best drink i've ever had! It was the perfect amount of sweet without being overbearing. We sat at the bar and service was great as well! The vibe is soo fun and really brings you back in time. I love how the menus are newspapers and don't forget to check out the milkshake bar!

Had a great lunch while visiting downtown St. Augustine. Prohibition is located in a trendy tourist shopping area. They had quite a line but we were able to secure a reservation and walk around to shop while we waited. They text us when our table was ready which is very convenient. The restaurant is themed from the prohibition area and we lived all the dark moody vibes. Had an amazing server who was knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Food is bar/tavern food and was really good. I loved they had a separate fryer for gluten and shellfish allergies so I could eat the French fries. We both had burgers and they were very tasty. Great bar and a lot of beers to choose from. It is quite noisy but it was part of the fun. Solid place to eat.

My friends and I really enjoyed this spot! A variety of choices on the menu. The service was speedy and super friendly. We loved the appetizers - brussel sprouts and fried pickles. I would definitely come back here if I go to St Augustine again!

We planned to go here after looking at lights. I called ahead to make a reservation, but they do not make reservations. I highly suggest that if you are gonna walk around to look at lights or around the city, that you stop by and check in first and get on the waitlist. It was a Tuesday night and they still had over an hour wait. There were some places to sit and wait and listen to music. The waitlist is via text so you can definitely walk around while you wait. There's live music from 6 to 9 PM. When we got seated, we were sitting at some tables downstairs between the bar and the booths. I would not recommend these chairs because they were very uncomfortable. It looks like the booths and the upstairs seats were better. The menus look like old newspapers. Our waitress was very attentive and my food was cooked exactly how I asked for it. I ordered the build a burger and it came out fantastic along with the sweet potato tots. They have Diet Coke and Coke products. There are definitely some other food items on the menu I'd still like to try next time. I'm interested in trying their milkshakes and alcoholic milkshakes as well.

We were here on a Tuesday for a late lunch, still had to wait for 30 minutes for a table. So come early or make a reservation in advance. I had a super bowl salad with grilled chicken with honey and balsamic dressing, it was good. Big portion for one person, I had to take the rest of the salad. Service dogs are allowed inside the restaurant, but can't be on the seat. Good thing we had a stroller for our service dog, so he stayed in his stroller and took a nap. They serve traditional American food, hubby's favorite. The waitress who waited our table was friendly and attentive. There's a waiting area inside the restaurant, so you don't have to wait outside in the heat.

Snagged a table fri night after about a 30 minute wait (less than I was quoted). Our server Joseph knew every single detail of the menu and was happy to help us pick out our cocktails after a handful of questions lol. I liked the option of a make your own old fashioned, although they don't make smokey ones here which is really my fav. Our cocktails did take a long time to come out, I guess you have to be patient on a fri night. We ordered apps- the giant pretzel and fried pickles- those came out quick and were warm and seemingly fresh. Just be warned after a certain time they pull the tables on the floor- so as soon as you are done eating they will ask you to scoot.

Some of the reviews mentioned making reservations. Do they, in fact, take them?

I am not sure about small groups. I know they day take reservations for private rooms and private areas for groups of 15+ for like parties and such. You can book 2 or 3 areas at the location.

Is there parking for the restaurant?

Parking is nearby in lots/by meter but the restaurant itself is a little walk, in the middle of a long street filled with shops and restaurants.

    Do you havea happy hour?

Ah, while the Prohibition Kitchen may occasionally offer delightful libation specials, it lacks a regularly scheduled rendezvous for jubilant hours, if you catch my drift.

    Do they take reservations?

No they don't take reservations, we just put our name on the list and explored the area.

    Is there a Kid's menu?

Yes!! There is a kids menu! I ordered a burger from it and it came with fries, I think it was like less than $10 and there were other options as well!

    Should we make a reservation?

They Do Not Take Reservations. FYI to responders of questionable, Do not answer if you actually don't know the accurate answer because you do not know any more than the person asking. You are doing a disservice by posting incorrect answers and can…

Long waits are common for this spot. The interior is the old Ice Plant so it has great character. Not super large so limited dining spots within. Very high ceilings and though there were plenty of diners, it was overly loud. Great spot to enjoy the company you are with! Our server was top notch, knowledgeable, helpful, friendly but not trying to monopolize our table talk. We started with Cocktails which were all great. I went classic Old Fashioned, presentation AND taste were on point. We split the Crab Beignets order of 4. The breading on them was light and fluffy, the Crab tasty and they were cooked appropriately, no burns or underdone spots. For our main course, we elected to split 2 of the specials of the day so they may not be there when you go, but judging by the quality of the specials, any dish would be great. We had the Caesar Salad (which is like calling the Queen Mary2 a "boat"!). It is next level, 7 minute eggs, homemade croutons, Anchovie forward, all good! We also split an order of Shrimp Cake Sliders. These were huge, and the slaw that accompanied was the perfect match to the shrimp without overwhelming them. For dessert we settled on the Pineapple cake which also had coconut and all kinds of wonderful flavors going on! A really outstanding meal from beginning to end!

My spouse and I checked out the self-guided tour right before we grabbed dinner at The Ice Plant. The tour isn't particularly long but was filled with information. After the tour, we headed upstairs to the restaurant. The restaurant feels really spacious with its super tall ceilings. There was lots to look at reminding us of the previous use of the building. We ordered the hand cut fries, strawberry and beet salad, and the gochujang marinated pork chop. I also ordered a few of their drinks, each one featuring different types of ice to fit the drink. Honestly all the food and the drinks were so good, but the easy standout of the night for both my spouse and I were the pork chops. These might have been the best pork chops I've ever had in my life. The pork chops were incredibly tender and juicy, not dry at all. I was expecting it to be a little dry, as I feel like pork chop can sometimes get overcooked, but no. These were so juicy and tender. I asked our server how the pork chop was cooked. Our server said that the pork chops were cooked sous vide, which makes a lot of sense as to how they were so tender. I've already told my spouse if we are in the St. Augustine area again, I would make a special trip just to get these pork chops again, they were that good. I really enjoyed this restaurant. This was my favorite spot we checked out in the St. Augustine area, if you are ever passing by the area, check The Ice Plant out!
