They have a great selection of handheld bites and a few other main dishes. To start, we had the poutine, which was super cheesy and flavorful definitely a great way to kick off the meal. For my main, I went with the fried flounder burger, which was served with coleslaw on top, tartar sauce, and fries on the side. I swapped the fries for green beans, and it was perfect! Our wait to get seated was I believe was an hour but we explored around and walked and before we knew it was time for us to get seated. They had live music and a huge bar. We got seated upstairs which was actually nice because where I was seated I could see the ground and people from below. For starters, we tried the deviled eggs, fried pickles and brussel sprouts-the Brussels I've had better, they were made with a Caesar dressing or something and for the deviled eggs-they were different and good at the same time; made with aioli, breadcrumbs, pickled onions and I missing other things but I liked them. The star of starters were the fried pickles, they were delicious! As for my entree, I got the flounder sandwich with fries and ordered an espresso martini-martini was strong yet delicious and the flounder sandwich was good-nothing out the ordinary and yes I would get again I just took off the top bun to reduce me having so much bread/carbs. The fries were okay-mine were extremely salty but I kept eating them because I love fries lol nevertheless this place was good. The wait was an hour on a Saturday night so we opted to return for a late lunch/early dinner the following day, which was perfect. The restaurant was moderately full and there was great live music. The menu had so many things that we wanted to try so exercising restraint was tough! But, we did. We got the PK poutine app, the whiskey bbq burger, short rib grilled cheese, and grilled chicken strips for the little one. To drink, I had the cookies and cream shake and my husband did the "make your own old fashioned". The little one had pineapple juice. The kids meal came out fast, which is always appreciated. The chicken was grilled and very moist. They substituted her fries with corn with no issue. The poutine had smoked cheddar mornay, pork belly, sour cream, and chives. I would say that this was just ok. There was a large portion of fries and the toppings were not proportionate. Many fries had nothing on them. Our entrees were better than the appetizer. The short rib grilled cheee was excellent! The meat was tender and flavorful, there was plenty of cheese, and the bread was not soggy. With the peppers and onions, it reminded me of a Philly cheesesteak. The burger was also really good. I got the shake without alcohol and it was thick but not overly rich. Over hyped, tourist trap! Poor quality, over priced food would be the tip of the iceberg. The restaurant has a funky smell you notice as soon as you walk in, it is accompanied by very humid air. The hostess had zero enthusiasm and definitely no pep in her step. I have seen more excitement at a deli counter. We were seated, and although the waitress was pleasant, she was MIA the majority of the time. She brought us the wrong drink, the order was not correct and although we were still trying to keep our hopes high they quickly dissipated when the bun for my husband's burger came out LITERALLY rock hard. This brought our attention to the lack of food quality. The bun appeared to have been stale before it was toasted. Is there no care, oversight or quality review of the food that leaves the kitchen? We brought this to the attention of our server when she came back around approximately ten minutes after the food was delivered (restaurant rule of thumb, check in within the first two minutes or two bites). She apologized and said she can get us a discount on the item. Ultimately the entire entree was taken off the check. Although it was appreciated not having to pay for a non edible item, it is not the scenario we were intending. We wanted to enjoy our experience, love and pay for our food, but that is not how it played out. Also, some health and safety concerns drew our attention during our visit. First, big red flag here, a bottle of mayonnaise was on every table, which sits out all day. Food safety 101, mayonnaise is to be kept refrigerated. The bathroom smelled of urine, how can a concrete floor be mopped and sanitized correctly. This brings us to the bathroom sink, made out of rock, yes another surface that cannot be completely disinfected. As if the tourist gimmick was not prevalent, the associate that comes by offering a complementary picture of you at the table eating, sealed the deal. We were not in a food eating competition, not dining on top of the Empire State Building nor were we attending a wedding. Is dinner really the venue to have your picture taken, just you, your family and the salt and pepper. Say cheese! Unfortunately, there was not one kind or saving grace of this experience. The second time we came, they were still busy but less so and we again sat at the bar. The bartender we had on Tuesday was a lot more green and not nearly as personable although they were less busy. We did the pretzel and beer cheese and a boozy milkshake, the milkshake was outstanding but the pretzel was very disappointing. The pretzel and cheese were coldish and left a lot to be desired. We came here on a Sunday around 1pm and surprisingly only had a 15 minute wait. Definitely a family restaurant with kids running around. Two story restaurant and had a singer live on this day. The bathrooms are dark but big. Our waiter Michael was so kind and on top of his service. He recommended a number of things and we ended up taking his advice and trying the strawberry buffalo wings as an appetizer. They were hot (temperature) and delicious, so crispy, the breading and the sauce were the highlights of this dish. For folks who like spicy, it was really spicy a little kick but nothing serious. My party also had the short rib grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, fries, flounder, and whiskey bbq burger. All the dishes were hits at our table, the garlic aioli and amount of meat on the grilled cheese were great. The flounder was HUGE and came on a bun. The whiskey bbq burger got with no French onions and was tasty, ordered some extra bbq sauce on the side. Fries are really good, Hot and crispy. Prohibition burger - more like boring burger. The beer cheese soup was disgusting and inedible. It's the same odd burnt orange color as the dip, thick, and nasty. The food was pretty decent, but the customer service really left a bad taste in my mouth. There was a 45-minute wait despite plenty of open tables--which I assumed was due to being short-staffed. Once we were seated, it took quite a while to be greeted and have our drink orders taken. We all just ordered waters, but it still took about 10 minutes for them to arrive. The food came out fairly quickly after we ordered, but that's where things started to go downhill. There was some confusion when the food arrived--we didn't have any silverware, and some of the items were cold. When I tried to ask the runner about it, he abruptly said, "I don't have time to answer your questions." I was stunned. I pointed out that my fries were cold, and he cut me off again, saying, "Once again, I don't have time to answer your questions. We don't have any extra silverware. You need to ask your server because I'm just the runner." Unfortunately, our server didn't return for another 5 minutes, only to confirm that they had no silverware to give--odd, considering the napkins typically come wrapped around them. I might consider trying this place again, but only if the customer service improves significantly. read more

I came here in January 2025, a few weeks after the holidays, to see the famous holiday lights in Saint Augustine. On a weekend this restaurant was packed, especially because their entire upstairs area looked like it was reserved for a wedding rehearsal dinner party. We put our names down for a two hour wait and then proceeded to wander around Saint Augustine, making the wait bearable. We also got drinks there at the Prohibition Kitchen bar while we waited, the Hibiscus Spritz and the Pineapple Express, which were tasty. When we got to our table we ordered two Moscow Mules and the poutine, which had cheese curds, brown gravy, sour cream, and chives, all covering crispy fries. The flavor was about what you'd expect. I then ordered the bootlegger burger, which had smoked bacon, fried pickled green tomato, house pimento cheese, and arugula. It was an elegant combination of crunchy, creamy, sweet, and tart - truly impressive. Overall, Prohibition Kitchen was worth the wait but next time I would go back during the off-season for tourists. read more

We stopped here on a week night in the middle of winter. It was super packed with barely anywhere to stand by the bar. We asked if we could sit at a table, but they were booked for the rest of the night. The menu is cool with the front looking like a old magazine about the prohibition. Just from reading the menu I didn't feel compelled to order anything off the menu, even though I was hungry. Sure with prohibition in the name it is more a place people come to drink, but it still has kitchen in the name too. The food options should have been better, mostly just really basic restaurant food such as burgers and fries. Note: if you come to old st Augustine late at night you might as well order food here. A lot of other places that are open close their kitchens earlier. The drinks here were good. The bartenders did an excellent job and were working like a well oiled machine to take care of everyone in the establishment. When we were there they had live music. The band playing was awesome. Went to the Roosevelt room this morning with my family for Brunch this morning. We were greeted by Amazing staff, a wonderful ambiance, and even met Chef Johnny. The restaurant was warm and inviting, and food was top notch. The candied bacon, Reuben Benedict, waffles, and Peach Bellini were all phenomenal. Our entire party had an absolutely amazing breakfast, and many of the locals , including a working member of the visitor center highly recommended this place.
