Chicken Empanadas Good, but only while hot & crispy. Unfortunately flat by the time I got home
Julie N.

...Hate El Pollo Loco and Charo Chicken is even worse... ... this is a 20 min drive (one way) out of my way, but who doesn't like a good fried or rotisserie chicken? ... So, if it's worth the drive, this may be the new replacement, but they seem to be popping up all over, so there will probably be one closer to me soon enough. Way better than EPL or Charo! Bought an 8 piece, chicken only half and half so we could try both types. The empanadas are good, but only while crispy. Flat by the time I got home... . The chicken pieces were normal to larger size, so we still have 4 pieces left, which brings down the $24 I paid to $12 for the two of us, chicken only. The empanadas were 3 for $9, which came with one side, so I tried the Plantains. Overall good first time experience!

Anyone heard of Miss Dash? This literally taste like they use Miss Dash as their seasoning. I would stay clear from the roasted chicken. When I first bit into it, thought okay, I do like Miss Dash when I use it to cook. Eventually I get to the middle and it was literally pink. The fried chicken isn't bad, but it isn't anything special. I really hope I caught them on a bad day. The service was good. Staff was really nice and efficient. Overall, definitely not a place I would go out my way.

Cool menu, good service! Thanks for taking care of my table .

Thanks to Jared for helping me out on what to order and the other staff working today cleaning the tables and being attentive . Looks like a fast food joint but loads of people were dining inside. The campo fried chicken bowl is delish!

The chicken received was undercooked, and bloody raw inside. Serious health safety issues.

Chicken,rice,beans,Yuca and plantains.

First time trying this chicken place. I ordered the small family pack with add-on... In fairness, the fried chicken was good. I wanted to try the grilled chicken too but was told that they were out of it. Sounds like a mismanagement issue considering I came by late in the afternoon. Tried the beans, rice, plantains and Yuca sticks. The Yuca was tough and dry. The plantains were tasty. Wouldn't try the Yuca again. All in all,, it was ok. A bit over priced for what you get in my opinion. Wish I had a better experience

Yes - that is how we got our chicken. The car ride was 10-15 minutes

My family and I came for Easter today, and we were not disappointed. Their freshly made chicha morada was so refreshing. The quality of the rice and the flavors in the chaufa, lomo saltado, pan con chicharrón, and tallarín saltado were all so well put together. I highly recommend this place if you're looking for delicious, authentic Peruvian food. We will definitely be coming back!

Friendly staff welcomed us, and asked if it was our first time, which it was. As usual, I wanted to try a variety of dishes: Trio of appetizers pequeo included fish ceviche, crispy fried squid calamari and potatoes in cheesy sauce. Trio of empanada (we got two chicken and one beef) piping hot and juicy delicious fillings , accompanied by a very spicy sauce. Tallarin verde (green sauced spaghetti) is topped by a thinly breaded steak that was cooked well done, still tender and quite tasty. Suitable for the child with us. The aji de gallina dish is served with a generous scoop of rice : sliced chicken breast in a slightly spicy huancaina cheesy sauce. Peruvian tamal was delicious and had shredded chicken in the masa. It must be cooked in a tomato sauce because it wasn't the usual yellow corn color. Would gladly come back. But be advised Airconditioning was not working and the sun was beating down hot through the glass windows. The curtains were drawn closed. It just seemed unable to block the heat at all( it's a corner spot with windows all around.

Read the review, saw all the photos and also menu. We had to try this place. We ordered the following items: Drinks: Lychee Lemonade - Excellent and very refreshing. You can taste the lychee and hint of lemonade. They put some puree lychee and a whole lychee in the drink as a garnish. Mango Dragon fruit Tea - Very tasty and fresh. Packs lots of flavor, you can taste the mango and the hint of dragon fruit. Garnish with a mint sprigs and a dehydrated blood orange. Food: Spicy Won Ton - Won Ton was wrapped in a thin wrapper and the filling is excellent. Lots of flavor and a light kicked from the chili sauce. Mushroom and Rib-eye stir fry over rice - beef and mushroom cooked perfectly together, beef was super tender. Shaken beef with Garlic Noodle - Beef was packed with flavor and the garlic noodle was good but needed more flavor, not enough garlic but still good. The staff are very tentative and super friendly. The restaurant is nice and clean. We got there early so we did not have to wait. We defiantly will return when we are back in SoCal.

Okayyyy Aji Limon... why is every bite making me want to dance a little?…read more Started with the fried calamari and fish ceviche -- super fresh, crispy, and packed with flavor. The steak and egg was juicy and comforting, and the Pescado a lo Macho came loaded with seafood goodness. If you love soup, the Parihuela seafood soup is rich, hearty, and perfect for seafood lovers. And don't skip the maracuyá passion fruit juice... seriously so refreshing. For dessert, the picarones were warm, sweet, and dangerously addictive. Plus the chocolate cake? The veggies were vibrant, the fries stayed crispy, and the meat was cooked exactly to temperature. It's a tricky dish to get right, but they absolutely nailed it. My wife had the Ceviche de Camarón, and she couldn't wait to dig in. The shrimp tasted incredibly fresh, the lime, red onion, cilantro, and ají amarillo/limo pepper came together with that bright citrus‑chili punch you want in a true Peruvian ceviche. Even the details were spot‑on: perfectly cooked choclo and sweet potato with just the right texture. The only thing I'd tweak is the chicha morada -- a bit sweet for my taste, but easy to adjust with a splash of water without losing the flavor. To top it all off, the manager, Angel, stopped by to check on us, which says a lot about their attention to customers. With flavors like these, I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Ají Limón to anyone craving authentic Peruvian cuisine.

They have a local feel when you walk inside. There is a little bit of a wait, and I think they make the food to order, so it's hot and fresh when you receive it. I recommend that if you plan to take out, call ahead to place your order to save time. They are known for their pupusas, which I got on my first visit. I was curious after reading some of the positive reviews. I ordered the revuelta and chicken with cheese. Both had great flavors and would consider getting them again. The flavorful, crispy empanadas were among my favorites. I got the carne (beef) and spinach with cheese empanadas and loved them. The perfectly fried shell and flavorful filling. Their Salvadoran tamales are prepared in the traditional style, with a flavorful filling and soft, moist masa, wrapped in banana leaves rather than corn husks. I love Mexican-style tamales (especially homemade), so this was a new experience trying Salvadoran-style tamales. I think most people will order takeout, but there's a moderately sized dining area with tables. It has a local feel and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff was kind and provided great service. The prices are fair for the quality of the food. I still can't believe I waited this long to visit Nancy's. I can't wait to come back and try other items on the menu. Note: There is a little charge for using credit cards, so cash would be better if you want to avoid the CC charge.

As soon as we walked in, it felt like home. It's a small shop like many authentic Salvadoran places, which honestly made it feel even more legit. I had read in some reviews that the main complaint was the wait time, but our food actually came out pretty quickly. And honestly, if you want authentic Salvadoran food, a little wait is part of the deal since most things are made fresh and by hand. Now let's talk about the pupusas. I ordered the queso con loroco and wow... they basically melted in my mouth. I originally planned to share one with my partner, but that plan quickly went out the window and I ate both myself. No regrets. I had the combination plate and my partner had a breakfast plate. Both were delicious. Safe to say we'll definitely be making the drive again.
