Love the food saves me a drive to LA but restaurants is a mess inside trash all over the floor tables not cleaned off while empty.

One of the most confusing chicken experiences I have had. Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. Slice level was about a 1.5/10 and more sweet than anything. There was a spice that after thinking all day, all I could come up with was a sort of curry but topped with black pepper. Chicken was oily and soft. At this point the manager asked how it was and I told him the sandwich was far sweeter than spicy. He proceeded to tell me people can't really handle spicy food and this was made less spicy intentionally......ISN'T that what the regular chicken sandwich is for? If I order something spicy, make the damn thing spicy. Almost had the look of being fried a second time to get it done. Sandwich came with one side so I ordered the mashed potatoes. EVERYTHING on the menu is chicken.....why in Gods name do you serve brown (beef) gravy over your powdered potatoes in a chicken restaurant (uses term loosely). Then came the chicken empeñada. It was 60% cheeses and lacked any flavor. No sauces other than Challula and Ketchup at the tables. Empeñada =chimichurri or something. They are lucky to get a 2. I was given a punch card and left it on the table before I left. read more

My family was excited to try out this place and I drove almost an hour roundtrip to come home and find that the 6 rolls were missing from the 12 piece family meal I ordered. For almost $50, I would expect them to pay better attention to detail. I called the store to request a refund for just the rolls and was given the run around. Food was good but too expensive to make such a simple mistake. read more

I went through the drive thru and ordered a chicken salad and a two piece combo and they forgot the salad completely so I went inside to get it and when I went inside the workers were really rude and dismissive. Then I get to my car and look and there's no chicken in salad. So I had to go back in and the girl at the counter seemed upset that I was back and asking for the chicken on my salad even though they forgot it. Crazy. Lol read more

I came in being skeptical about this place because it was my first time. I really emitted my visit! The restaurant is very clean and staff very friendly. The food is 100% Delicious very juicy. My favorite side will be the sweet plantains, they are sweet and soft read more

A little overpriced considering the amount of food you get. Ordered the camperitos and they didn't seem like they were fresh and had been sitting under a light for a while. Don't believe we will be coming back as the quality of food doesn't not directly reflect the premium price you pay. read more

This restaurant is below average. I ordered a 3 piece combo with 2 sides, the drink is not included for 15 dollars. Customer services is slow. The chicken batter is lacking flavor. The mashed potatoes and rice is extra bland. I don't recommended this restaurant. read more

I ordered to go on a rainy day. The chicken was decent. I could taste the herbs used. The yucca fries were also good. The mashed potato was oily. A couple of days after I ordered food from here, someone tried using my credit card info to buy things online. This was the only new place I visited so I'm posting here to see if anyone had a similar experience with their credit card. read more

I will give a five star review ahead of time and only change it if it's bad. I've been to other Pollo Camperos and they were delicious! It is a little on the pricey side and drinks don't come with the combos, but the food is really premium. The chicken in the chicken sandwich for example, is real chicken and breaded and fried perfectly and tastes clean. The yuka are great quality (if you don't know what yuka (or is it yuca?) another name for it is cassava and it is like a potato and many people like it better). Pollo Campero offers fresh fried yuca as a side dish and last time I had it, it was so thick and good. The camperinos, I think they're called are the chicken nuggets. Again, very clean and tasty. There are empanadas which are absolutely succulent when fresh! I would recommend trying each of the foods I mentioned. I will try to visit this location on Beach & Cerritos in the coming days now that I know that it exists! I was delighted to learn there's a Pollo Campero by me. Actually there is one in Anaheim by where I live but it is not a sit down restaurant, it's like a virtual kitchen where you must take the food to go. I always like when I can go inside the restaurant, look at the menu, talk with the employees etc. but the other Pollo Campero is good too! That one was one of my last visits. I hope there will be a customer mailing list where we will get coupon cards like the other location! That would be awesome! But in the meantime I don't mind paying premium prices to get premium food. And if you're totally new to this restaurant I recommend getting the chicken sandwich meal with yuca as a side and an empanada and a bread. Oh and the sauces/dips that they offer compliment the chicken very very well, such exceptional flavors all around. See ya!! read more

I never give one star reviews on my Yelps but this place is the first time.We ordered through online and went to pick up.They told me that "We're packing up" and I still waiting 15 more mins.So my wife went to ask them "Is it done?" .They said we don't have a chicken sandwich.WTF!! Why don't you told me that when I arrived.They just let me standing without let me know for 15mins.If I didn't ask them,I could standing there forever.The reason they gave us was"Online is different". I was mad not because of you ran out a sandwich but because of no one care about an order an customer.7-8 crews just standing and no one take action or may be they don't care.I am fine if you tell me it's out.I would order something right away.Not just like ignored and keep quiet until I went to ask.If management see this ,Please improve it before it's getting worse to your business. read more

This was my third time to this Pollo Campero location. On the positive side the food was hot and delivered to my table quickly after I ordered it. I'm the other hand the chicken was just mediocre. The tortillas were so thin - not worth using. I appreciate that the employees spoke Spanish, but the cashier's English was at times hard to understand. I was given real silverware, but I would have preferred plastic. The restaurant allowed homeless folks to use their restroom, which dissuade me for using it. The entire time we were dinning there were two other homeless folks just hanging out in a booth. I guess if you do not have anywhere to go, this is the place to hang out. read more

Not impressed with my first visit and it will be the last. One star for the niceness of the lady at the drive thru window. Grilled and fried chicken thighs were raw inside still. Mashed potatoes taste like powdered instant potatoes made with water. Rice was hard. Bread rolls were like the Hawaiian rolls, nothing special. 8 piece meal was 30 some dollars. The only reason I am giving them one star is because the chicken is pretty good. This was my first time there. I went through drive thru and the service was horrible. I was ordering and the person helping me was not nice at all. As it is was my first time, I didn't know that drinks didn't come with the order. When I asked she took like 5mins to reply and then another person helped. When I got home, half of my order was missing!! Definitely never going back even if the chicken is good. read more

Ordered online for pickup. Picked up food not ready. 10 min later a person said sorry. We short staffed. Ok wait another 10 min. Someone else said sorry grilled chicken will be another 30 min. Ok. Just give me fried chicken. Unorganized and poor management. Chicken was good tho. read more

Very disorganized staff , extremely slow .I do not see how they can stay in business. Prices are high also with no deals or combo meals that include drinks . They should study how KFC or El Pollo does their menus and train their staff to hurry and get orders out instead of telling everyone to wait in the parking lot . Asked for a meal, wasn't asked grilled or fried. Had to request grilled upon noticing they were going to decide for me. Grilled 3 piece meal, $15 with a drink. Two legs and a thigh. Chicken was both soggy on the bottom from sitting in something liquid in the kitchen, and the skin burnt black on top. Burnt to a point where it shouldn't have been served. Not much flavor plus soggy and burnt? Regret. Will not return. read more

I went there for lunch today to see how the restaurant is. Ordering was a little bit rough, the person taking my order did not speak very good English. I tried ordering two grilled thighs and a leg. She rang it up and I went to my seat to wait for my order. While waiting, someone approached me from the kitchen and apologized to me and told me they did not have grilled chicken breast. I explained to her that I ordered two grilled thighs and a leg only, no breast. I then looked at my receipt and saw that I actually had been charged for a chicken breast. Granted, it was only $.50, it was still rung up incorrectly. Service was fast and I received my order, The presentation was nice and it looked very good. Unfortunately the chicken was lukewarm at best and very greasy. I was very disappointed after reading some of the reviews online. Not sure I will be visiting this restaurant again anytime soon. Wanted to try this place. My first time here and the lady at the drive thru was rude. I asked her for a minute to look at the menu and she was rushing me after not even 30 seconds. I asked for a chicken sandwich which she rudely responded they didn't have any. They literally just opened and they don't have? So i changed my mind to the 6 count nuggets and while asking me what kind of sauce and what side I could hear her laughing and gossiping with her co workers. Then I asked if they had coke and she rudely responded no. She didn't offer any other options. Then I had to ask her what drinks they had. The laughing persisted until she finished taking my order. When i pulled up to the window, her and the other workers were all staring at me and laughing. It was very uncomfortable. It seemed like they were laughing and gossiping about me. Although the food was pretty good I probably won't go back because of the horribly unprofessional behavior and lack of respect. read more
