The meat was missing some flavor but was still tasting excellent, as off as that sounds. Cooked PERFECTLY, clearly this beef was never frozen. The crispy edges had me melting with every bite. The skinny fries were nothing to brag about, had me jelly seeing all the other customers with the fat steak fries. It was clean and inviting as soon as we walked in. The team member Sheyla greeted us with a warm smile and helped us with our order. We had gotten stuck between a burger combo and the tenders so decided to get the tenders combo and a burger on the side. We ordered the new Nashville hot tenders combo and the thousand island burger. I ordered onion rings for my side and my friend ordered the skinny fries. Everything was fresh and sooo amazing. First time trying this place so we were feeling BIG ifyky. Sheyla brought out extra condiments for us to try since it was our first time. She also made sure the dining area remained cleaned for other guest coming in. These are some of the best burgers money can buy. The flavor on these is something you can't get anywhere else. These are usually a late night eat for me but this very last time was with my son. They were busy for a Friday evening. Went in and ordered our usual, King burger with everything sans pickles. This is what you should be getting here (keeping the pickles if you like them). The flavor profile that the mustard and the relish gives this burger is like something else. I don't get people complaining that there's no flavor. Did you get it plain? Burgers are always juicy and cooked perfectly. The fat fries are my go to side here but don't forget the onion rings if you're eating with someone else. There will be enough fries to share and might as well get onion rings too. Everything is just the same as when I was a kid. The quality is finally back @ Buena Park Fatburger! I have been a regular customer (2-4 times a week) for many years. A couple years ago I noticed a lot of changes taking place. This was a good thing when it came to the actual building, but then not long after, the changes began with the food. Smaller portions, burger meat changed, "minute maid" type lemonade....... It was a very sad day for me when I realized I couldn't eat at my beloved Fatburger any more. Fast forward to today. Apparently the establishment has been sold to a new owner who has returned the quality! It was a huge surprise after not eating here for over a year and discovering Fatburger was BACK! Some reason Fatburger is lacking in flavor now. It might just be certain locations I hope. Burger is really bland and lack of seasoning. I thought the thousand Island one would be better. It doesn't warrant the laughable prices. I had the Impossible burger with added cheese. The additional $1.25 for a single slice of cheese is a lot to me, even if it's vegan. I also had the vegan banana milkshake. I was told it came with vegan whipped cream, but it was served without whip because it wasn't in stock. There was no discount for this, and I wasn't informed till after paying, and no discount or perk was offered to make up for it. And this shake was over $13 after taxes. Thirteen. For a milkshake. A vegan milkshake, sure. But come on. There wasn't even whipped cream. Overall, prices are steep. Really freaking steep. And the quality is kind of mediocre, not special in any way. I'd prefer Nice Guys in the future for a similar vibe with more vegan options and lower prices. Or Carl's Jr., which has its own respectable Impossible burger, again for less money. read more

Fatburger is -so- good. So good. I have good memories of Fatburger from when I lived in Pasadena. Me and my best friend would cruse down to the Beverly Center, check out a game store that was nearby, and then hit Fatburger for a Fatburger, Fatfries, and a chocolate shake. I really wanted to eat at Fatburger and I found this one near Knott's Berry Farm on our way back from a family trip. It was in the process of getting painted on the outside, so they're working on maintenance, which is a good sign. Inside, the menu got more complicated than it used to be in my memory. Not a bad thing, really, but there are a lot of side options and several versions of the Fatburger. I misjudged completely and ordered a Fatburger with a pound and a half of meat. I also got chili cheese fries. Whoops. That was -way- -way- -WAY- too much. But damn, it was good. My two children ate their regular sized burger and had their choice of toppings, and devoured their fries. The restaurant itself was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the young lady behind the register knew what she was doing and was quick and efficient, although a little abrupt with tapping signs to show what options were. I can't really blame her too much for that though; she's working at a burger joint near an amusement park that caters to tourists from out of the area. It has to get old explaining what the multiple side options are when there's literally a sign right in front of you. I was able to laugh it off, but I was looking to enjoy myself at this place. Anyways, the burgers were good, but dear lord; the prices were insane. For three of us to eat (including my super huge burger...seriously, guys, that was way too much and I'm an idiot for ordering it), it was still over SEVENTY DOLLARS for burgers. Four of us ate at a sit down service restaurant in Pasadena later that day for less than that. We even ordered two drinks from the bar. So the price at Fatburger is absolutely incredible. It's disappointing, because I'd highly recommend the place, and the food is great, and it's served well, and there's a lot of it, but the price is just incredible. END GAME: From one time locations in Florida to one in a casino in Arizona to locations all over Southern California, this franchise remains my favorite burger chain.
