I don't know what happened with all the less than stellar reviews, but I wanted to share my overwhelmingly positive experience on taco Tuesday. Tony was our server. Fun guy, easy to chat and joke around with. The place wasn't that busy so our service was fast. I know that's been a complaint in the past. Maybe the poor reviews have made less people go? Tacos were excellent. I tried pretty much all of them and the shrimp were my favorite. My buddy really preferred the chicken. Such a cool vibe sitting on the water drinking coronas and eating tacos. The concept they have is cute.... mom and pop shop type feel, right on the man made lake where you can see the sunset plus, a lil live music to top off your night. Other than that ttthhhaatttssss all I would give them. My table low key felt forgotten for service, the table across from us came after and was served more promptly. The spinach artichoke dip was lacking flavor and spinach. My goat cheese burger I asked "medium" was over cooked and dry. The southwest burger was over cooked as well asked for "medium" but the cheese and pepper made up for it. My beer was sadly warm but drinkable. The best thing in the menu was the fries!!! The setting here was super pretty but where we were seated we couldn't see anything. Our menus and food we had to look at it in the dark. At least my food the Baja shrimp tacos were DIVINE. It was the only dish that was perfectly cooked because my friends said the chicken skewers and ahi were very dry or lacked flavor. They gave us a free desert for our friends birthday and that cheesecake was delicious. The prices are good, I would recommend only the shrimp tacos here tho. Never been here and was excited to try it. Came away very disappointed. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like the owners/management don't care. Arrived when it wasn't busy, still took almost 10 minutes to be seated. The hostess looked right at us several times, and then finally decided to come seat us. The view is nice, but it seems a little dingy, maybe that's on purpose for the ambiance? Once we sat, it seemed like we entered the shadow realm of being invisible to the servers. Other people were seated and promptly served. It seems like they were more concerned with talking to each other and ignoring us. It's disappointing because I feel like this place could be so much better. But with rotten service, inattentive employees, and the "I-don't-give-a-shit" attitude, this will just be a niche place with a captive audience because it's in the Lakes. read more

Such a unique little place! You don't find things like this in the valley often: it feels like you're dining in a small seaside town. (Except it's the suburbs lol) Staff was very friendly & they had live music. We had a spinach dip, a Caesar salad, bacon wrapped shrimp, & a chicken skewer. We loved all of it. Bacon wrapped shrimp was by far my favorite, & I'm not generally a huge fan of shrimp. They also have a deal if you spend $50 you get a free bottle of house wine. read more

Visited this place for happy hour after year. Place looks very run down. Cobwebs all over the gate leading to the lake since we seated nearby. The sprinklers were running when we were seated & half way thru they were turned down. It was 97 degrees outside & we were very hot. We asked to turn it back on & was told the table on the other side asked to turn it off since they were getting wet. We asked to turn on a fan. Yet they said no. Basically they were taking care of the people on the other end & did not seem to care for us. We said why don't you ask the people who were getting wet to move tables so that the sprinklers can be turned on... they basically ignored us until we paid & walked out due to the heat. We were feeling extremely disappointed especially sitting out in the hot heat. They showed us clearly that they would rather take care of the folks on the other side & not us. My daughter wanted to try this place. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I do see the appeal of it. It's tucked back in a quiet neighborhood right off the lake. All sitting is outside, so keep that in mind. Our server, Angela, was very bubbly and helpful. The food was really pretty good; 2 of us ordered the Smoked Chicken Tacos and 1 the Southwest Burger. Both were tasty! Turns out in Thursdays at 6, they host trivia night; we couldn't stay, but will probably go back and try. read more

4 of us came here last night to listen to the live music, eat and drink. It took a while for the waitress to come over for our drink orders. She didn't come back for quite a while to ask if we were eating. We ordered. 45 minutes later, no food. I went to the kitchen to inquire and was told they were busy and doing the best they could. Food came out, but with no eating utensils. Waited again for those. Food was lukewarm and just so-so. Great venue, great music, but that's about it. I don't usually post bad reviews but this place was quit possibly the worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I reserved a table here for 2 on OpenTable. When we got there, we stood at the host stand for 5 minutes and no one acknowledged us. We walked up to the bar and told the bartender that we had a reservation and he just pointed at a random table in the back and told us we could sit there but nothing else was available even though we made reservations. We were really hungry so we took that table, only to sit there again un greeted for another 10 minutes. The place is adorable. However we waited for 20 minutes, completely got ignored and these two people who were just sat behind us got drinks and to order before we even saw a server. We eventually got up and left. I feel like while it's okay to be backed up, we should have at least been informed that it might take a while, as opposed to just being left to sit there, wondering if we were supposed to order at the bar, not knowing what is going on. read more

I have this place 3 stars because the view of the community lake was nice but I'd say that was it. The food was not that great. I got the bacon wrapped shrimp on slaw and a side salad. The bacon was all fat. And the slaw was not good. Not worth 20.00. The side salad was very basic. One cucumber slice and a few cherry tomatoes that's it. It was our friends bday and I let him know and he was like oh we don't sing to you but you get a free dessert. She has a gluten allergy and they didn't offer her anything. Really rushed and crappy service. We went there for live music but it didn't start until after 7 pm and it was not good. Very old crowd. We will not be returning. read more

So I must say the view is pretty incredible. It honestly did not feel like I was in Arizona when I was at this place. The live music and lake view reminded me a lot of Austin! The whole restaurant is outside but they had heaters for when it gets cold. I made a reservation so we were seated very quickly and service was awesome. Will not be returning. Food just okay - not worth the price, service ended horribly, view over water is very nice. Server BAILEY - did not return with our change, we did not state she could keep it and she did not ask. When asked if we would be receiving our change she was rude about it. She finally brought the money and stated that since it was only like $5 she assumed she could keep it - dead wrong it was upwards of $15 and any amount doesn't justify her actions. After having to ask for our remaining money she still shorted us by only giving the bills and not exact change by rounding down to the nearest dollar. Myself and those that were with me have all worked in the service industry and know how to tip properly, but it was as if she thought whatever was left was all the tip she would receive from us and didn't bother to return to our table at all until flagged down. Attempted to call during business hours to speak to the owner or manager about this but no answer. Hmmm at first walk in before sunset and before the dark, this place is fantastic. The view of the lake, their set up- not bad! Our waitress was super sweet & attentive. She recommended the spinach artichoke dip which was in fact pretty good. Several TVs to watch games. However here's a warning for the customer on when to go. Once the sun goes down the black flies come out and they come out!! There are mosquito fly swatters there to help you wave them away but unfortunately they start to land on the table and in your drinks. was originally really excited to try this place out, we tried to make a reservation but they said they were full but they were accepting walk ins. So we get there and they say it's gonna be about 25- 30 minutes of a wait. so we're wating and 50 minutes goes by and we still aren't sat. They really aren't busy and their were plenty of open tables and not anyone else waiting for a table so we were confused on why we weren't sat. we ask the hostess about how much longer and she said 30 more minutes on top of the extra 20 minutes we were waiting. so we were gonna leave and eat somewhere else but right as we are telling her to take our name off the list she says she has a table available for us. So we stayed and ate but they all they did was say "sorry for the wait" they didn't discount anything or take care of anything for waiting 45 minutes over our wait. not to mention when we did get sat the table had trash underneath it and the menus were old and moldy The food was okay the appetizers were $18 each and they were so small very overpriced and underwhelming. the only thing that was good about this place was the view. service was okay food was okay if you go here i guess try to make a reservation and skip the overpriced apps. read more

The perrrrfect date night... in the spring, winter and fall. Despite their very best efforts, it's still hot af in the summer. Hubs and I love the crab dip here and have been several times just to munch on it. I thought coming in the evening would be better but unfortunately, it's still hot. But, it is an outdoor restaurant so you get what you get. Being right on the water is a plus. I've seen a few boat rides and at least two weddings at the pier in the middle of the lake. This place is super romantic when the weather permits. The staff is always super friendly and they usually have a good crowd. Can't wait to come back in the fall when there's a slight chill in the air. Highly recommended. They had a performer tonight that was pretty good, it was a pleasant and much welcomed surprise! read more

I've been DYING to come here for SUCH a long time. With work and my husband not having much interest it's been hard to make that happen. I FINALLY convinced him TODAY on a day off of mine to go! We were just wanting some drinks and a charcuterie board since we had dinner plans later. We sat down down at 11:15 at the bar and wasn't too packed at all. Beautiful view and loved the environment. After about 25 mins of sitting and not having anyone come over to take our order I just grabbed one of bartenders that were making drinks and said can we order with you? She said sure give me a minute! She walked away to a party and came right back to take the order. At about 12:20 with no food and empty cups from our one drink, he asked to leave and to cancel the order cause it took just took way too long. I'm kind of sad cause I saw the attention they gave to the party that was there but just felt a little left out at the bar and all we ordered was some cheese and crackers. Hopefully I can come back again and give a better review. I had high hopes and hate giving a bad review but unfortunately I was disappointed as it was my first time. read more

This is one of our favorite places for date night or meeting up with friends. The casual vibe is like a vacation/tiki bar. All outdoor seating with a view of the lake and live music or trivia games depending on the night. TVs for watching the games but the best part is the food and drinks! Rude and a waste of time. Went there twice and first time it was 8:00 PM and they told us to leave because it was "last call", the hours on their website clearly state 10:00 PM. Two days later we try and apparently now they no longer allow dogs even though they said it was fine the day before. Let's start with the way they cleaned the tables. Just a wet cloth that was used many times and it was very dirty. I wiped the table myself and the wipe came out black. We still had hope. The food took forever. 50 minutes to be exactly. Warm beer and my mimosa was served in a regular cup. Expensive and not worth. We are not coming back. When the table close to us left the server cleaned the table with the same cloth she used on our table and left all the floor under the table with napkins and food. So unsanitary. read more

This place is a fun relaxing hangout. Great happy hour specials daily. It's right on the water and always promises a beautiful sunset. Everything I've had on their menu is delish and tasty. They have a nice appetizer selection including a great cheese board and panko crusted Brie. I will continue to come here especially now that the weather is almost perfect. (It's outside seating). I've even come here in the summer and it's doable. Lol. They have sunscreens, misters and fans. There is usually live music on the weekends which makes for a great casual date night. I wanted to WARN CUSTOMERS to WATCH your BILL! Upon getting our bill, it was just that, not itemized, just a total, but I paid it. The next day got to thinking it was awful expensive for 4 people. Went back to the establishment and asked to see it and I was charged $80 over. The bartender was charging us $22 pitchers of beer instead of a bottle. And he gave himself a nice tip ontop of our cash tip! The manager tried to cover it up saying it was because we had a "large crowd". I said a large group is 4!? And cherry on top is he said he couldn't refund my money to my card and would have to get back to me.(which he didn't...I had to call him again). Then he said I could come pick up a gift card for the overages. When I got there they handed me two $25 cards...which didn't even cover the $80 some dollar overcharges. I would give this place one star for decent drinks. Food is mediocre....i would stay away from the spinach artichoke dip was not edible...maybe even rotten with how terrible it smelled. read more

This restaurant has so much potential. It has one of the best locations for a restaurant around Tempe with a beautiful view and even though the weather will be overwhelming with heat, the environment of the restaurant next to the lake is wonderful. Unfortunately, the service is outstandingly terrible. The bartenders/servers are rude and inattentive. If you want water, a menu, food, or anything you have to wave down a server and if you are lucky they will take their time to give you the bare minimum. Also, the quality of how things are supposed to be clean is definitely not there at all. Glasses are not polished at all, the plates literally have dark spots from coming from the dishwasher and just straight to the table, tables aren't wiped at all, the seats literally made my white pants dirty because it hadn't been wiped. I've been here 4 times to see if it was just a bad day but it is the same every time. It's extremely disappointing and not at all worth the price. Came here couple time Each time the hostess was disrespectful and the waiters take forever just to take your order. If you politely ask to move seats don't even try , the hostess will say the table is for a bigger party when we are sat in the same exact table in the opposite side of the restaurant. Food is great ! I love this place. The view, the ambiance and the food are all great. Prices for drinks are good as well. The only downside is the service is hit or miss. I still give it a 4 star for the what it is: A casual outdoor place that you can go and relax. Def not a place to go if you are in a hurry. Points too- they have music on the weekends at night and I have not heard a bad band there! Side menu note- all my friends rave about the fish and chips. Give it a try! We always have good service and exceptional food. The entirely outdoor restaurant is lakeside in the heart of the desert. Live bands on the weekend, television over the circular bar in the middle, misters and sun shades during the summer... and on some occasions, you will get the youngest and most talented magician to wow and entertain! The wait was over an hour only to be seated in the smoking section when they clearly saw that we had two children with us. The place seemed a bit dirty and the food was only okay. We ordered fried calamari which was fine but then ordered tacos that were soo dry the shredded beef needed some sauce or salsa or broth. The Mac n cheese that my son ordered was like noodles in milk with no flavor. The only reason why we would ever go back would be for the sunset pictures.
